Which Adobe product should I use ?

Hi!
I'm going to generate, merge and put a waterstamp on PDF's. I want to do that from C# code on a 64-bit server. There is no need for a GUI.
Which Adobe product can help me do hat ?

Wiggur

Hi Wiggur!!
All you said is possilbe by creating Actions in Acrobat X. That will be a silent process and will do everything automatically. Installation of Acrobat on servers depends on the license that you purchase. But certainly you can do that. That will be a silent process and you can call those actions by any programming language, i guess!

  • Which Adobe product should be use to create interactive presentations?

We have an interactive presentation that we developed for a client a few years ago in Flash. The client is concerned that Jobs has hurt the future of Flash as a development tool. Is there another Adobe product that we should switch to or is Flash still the premier product? Note: I need something sophisticated enough to do complex animations (many moving parts with masks). Play back has to look good with possible auto and video intergration. At the moment mobile/tablet is not an issue but may be desired in the future.

    Two primary considerations, IMO.
    1. If the product is already developed in Flash, and still works fine for all target devices, and maybe just occasional/simple updates are needed here and there..
    2. If mobile delivery of the product is not at all required.
    Then stick with Flash.
BUT if mobile is going to be a targeted platform, or the product needs a significant revision, then consider another approach.
Tools like Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline, and Trivantis Lectora are solid tools for creating HTML5 (mobile-compatible) content...but since HTML5 support and the spec itself are still evolving, there are certainly more limitations on animation, interactivity, etc.
So the longer you can hold out updating the product to HTML5, using whatever tool you prefer, the better...but on the other hand, balance that against the efforts and updates you put into a Flash-based project that's likely going to have a limited future.

Thanks so much.  I downloaded Acrobat XI.  It's been "extracting" for the past 30 minutes (even with a fast wi-fi).  Hope this is not a problem.

  • Which Oracle products should we use?

We are looking to build, from the ground up, a site that is roughly a combination of www.kudzu.com and www.accessatlanta.com. Which Oracle products would help us best develop, test, and implement a similar solution.
The primary confusion for me is whether the Portal product would be a good fit, or whether some other product(s) would be better.
Many thanks in advance for any and all input.

First, thank you VERY much for your reply. This post has received lots of views but no comments until yours. I appreciate your taking the time to offer a bit of advice and assistance.
If I understand correctly, you're suggesting developing the whole thing using J2EE rather than a product like Oracle Portal. I assume we would still be able to deploy using components of Oracle Application Server. Is this correct?
Ultimately, this portal website will be very database centric. All of the ads, listings, content, etc., would have to be stored and managed using a database. Would using J2EE be the most effective way to accomplish that?
I'm sorry if I seem a bit of a newbie. I know enough that I want to use Oracle technology, but not enough to know which products. Essentially, I'm the guy with the idea and I need some assistance figuring out the products so I know which product expertise to look for when hiring the right technical staff.
If you have any additional thoughts, please share. In the meantime, thanks again for your response.

  • What Adobe Products Should I use? I am making a mobile game similar to Flappy Bird.

It is not going to be a Flappy Bird remake but it will be a simple game like it.

This is the link for info re using Encore CS6 with CC, updated for CC 2014 and the cloud desktop install.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/encore/kb/encore-cs6-installed-cc.html
It has links for getting the library (which is not installed with Encore) and a workflow with CC versions.
In the cloud desktop, assuming you have PR CC 2014 installed, you are looking for this:
Your main problem may be getting Encore to work if you are using Mavericks or Yosemite.

  • What adobe product should I use on an Android tablet to view and edit maintenance drawings?

I plan to provide our maintenance staff Android tablets with all our equipment documentation loaded in PDF format.  I would like for them to be able to note changes, corrections, additions, etc.  I would also like for them to be able to associate / link photos of the equipment with the appropriate documentation.  I am not sure what Adobe application will meet these requirements and hope someone can provide advice and suggestions.

I'd like another player because I've had it with Adobe. I've spent hours and hours trying to get Shockwave & Flash to work after recent updates in those programs. I tested them out in Google Chrome, and still problems although fewer than in FF.
What is going on with these products? Everytime I run an update of FF or Shockwave/Flash, everything gets screwed up!!

  • Which Adobe product should I buy?

My last computer had an Adobe program that allowed me to insert pages into a document and reduce the file size.  Is there a product that can be added onto Reader XI that will allow me to do this and not spend $400.00?

    Hi imboj,
Acrobat is the application that allows you to edit a PDF--including inserting pages and reducing file size. There's nothing that can be added on to Reader to give you that functionality. But, Adobe does offer subscriptions to Acrobat, so you can pay month-to-month or annually. See www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html for details.

Can some one plz tell me which customization tool should be used to package Adobe Audition CS6

Sorry, you will have to give us a LOT MORE DETAIL about what exactly you are trying to do!
As written, I'm afraid your question makes no sense.  Why do you need to "package AA CS6"?

  • Which color profile should I use?

I'm getting into doing some freelance graphic design, and I've been playing around with my awesome new C2D Macbook Pro. I am wondering, which color profile should I use? It's set on Color LCD, but I'm wondering about Adobe RGB or Apple RGB would those be better?
    Thanks!

I personally am a fan of the sRGB on the Mac. I think the blue comes out very nice when comparing it to the others.

  • Which Adobe app do I use to attain this effect...

    Hi,
I'm new... VERY new to design and the Adobe app world.  Please forgive my ignorance here.
I'm working in Muse on a simple website.  So far I love it, great user-friendly app. What I need to do is add an effect to an image that I'm putting on the site.  I'm having a hard time articulating the effect to try and Google it, so that's why I'm here.  The effect I want is this: imagine an image that's long and rectangular and has a white background with 4 colored objects on it.  I want the viewer to first see a blank white space for about 5 seconds, then have a sort of fading in, sweeping reveal go left-to-right across the image that gradually reveals the 4 objects.  Then when the sweep reaches the right-most side of the image it's immediately followed by a left-to-right sweep back to a white image.  Then a few seconds later it would repeat.
I hope this makes sense and someone out there can see what I see in my mind.  What Adobe app should I use to achieve this?
    Thanks!

Ssprengel, thanks for the response.  I had hoped the very first sentence of my post would invoke a sense of a small amount of patience from the community, but I gather a slight annoyance from your post.  I apologize for my noobness.
Understood on this not being the right forum, but I was unclear of what other forum I would post to when I don't know what product I'm asking about, hence the question.  For lack of any better subforum to post to, this is where I ended up.  My choices were this one, or a specific product's forum.
What I'm trying to obtain is a very subtle effect, definitely not a continuously cycling animation. I am continuing to scour the internet trying to find an example.  Maybe "cascading light effect" is a better way to put it.
Thanks in any case for your response.  I will keep trying to find an example and post a link.  In the meantime, perhaps you can direct me to the proper subforum I should be posting in.

  • Which jdbc driver should be used for sqlserver 2000 and where to put it.

    hi all,
My odi is 11g. I met the error infor "Could not load JDBC driver class [com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver]" when i tried to connect to a sqlserver2000 database.
    The questions are:
    1. which jdbc driver should be used for sqlserver 2000?
    2. which folder to put it in?
    3. how to set the physical topological "Microsoft Sql Server" to use this jdbc driver?
    failed tries:
i downloaded the driver "SQL Server 2000 Driver for JDBC Service Pack 2" and put it in the following folders:
    1. .../oracledi/drivers, and set this path to CLASSPATH.
    2. .../oracledi/userlib didn't exist, i created it and put the driver in.
    3. .../oracledi/agent/dirvers, in which a readme file exists and told me to put drivers in this folder.
All these works were not useful. when I start odi.sh and try to connect to sqlserver2000 database, the same error infor came up.
    my environment is:

    Hi,
You should check which JVM version is required by that version of the driver, I think the 2.x versions require a 1.6 JVM
What error are you getting? If it is the "com.sunopsis.sql.c: No suitable driver", it indicates it can't find the jar file (sqljdbc.jar) for the driver you specify.
Drivers folder in ODI 11g is under
    C:\oracle\product\11.1.1\Oracle_ODI_1\oracledi\agent\drivers.
if you are using the standolone version
    On windwos :
    C:\Documents and Settings\<userName>\Application Data\odi\oracledi\userlib
    on linux
    $HOME/.odi/oracledi/userlib
    Have a read of :- http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/core.1111/e16453/install.htm#CHDBIFAJ

  • Which adobe software can be used for video ads editing and generation.

I am employed in a company ShoppingSpout.co.uk and I have a work related to ads. I am using Photoshop for image ads and banners but i really dont know which adobe product is handy to make ads for my site : http://www.shoppingspout.co.uk

Video editing would be Premiere Elements (under $100 US) or Premiere Pro (about $800 standalone for CS6 or newest version is only on the Cloud only for a monthly fee)
Click the big red A at the top left and go to the product pages for both products to read what they will do for you
If you have questions about those products, check their forums... this forum is only to talk about how the forums operate, not products

  • I want to scan typed documents to Word for Mac and change them. Which Adobe product is best for this?  This is not my area of expertise.  Thank you.

Can someone tell me which Adobe product to use?  I'm compiling a manuscript of poems and short stories for a friend, which are typed and handwritten and I need to edit them.  Thank you.

Scanning to Word won't do what you want.
You see, a scan of a page is just like a photograph of it. You have photos of letters and stuff, but no actual letters. There is a special process called "optical character recognition" (OCR) which analyses the picture in detail, and decides - hey that pattern of dots looks like it might be a letter A - and that would could be an S... it is difficult and time consuming but if the original is clear then you can get a lot of text text with the need only for careful proof reading.
Check the software which came with the scanner first. It may well offer options for OCR. Yes, Adobe Acrobat Pro can do this, but you have unnecessary complication, because you'll then need to get the text out from Acrobat to begin the tedious process of typesetting each page. To be honest, you might find retyping everything the quickest and most reliable approach. If you aren't already experienced in dealing with long documents in Word you are in for a long haul. Back up a lot, so you don't lose everything due to a mistake.
(I'm assuming you don't want a "facsimile" - a warts-and-all exact copy of each original page, as typed and scribbled, with no changes at all - that would be a different story).

  • Customising leaflets - which Adobe product is best?

    Hi
We have around 250 leaflets that we need to customise quickly for around 100 customers. The customisations are straightforward - placing a logo (jpeg) at the top and some text at the end.
The leaflets themselves are not complicated and follow a standard 2-column design mainly text with two or three illustrations.
I'm not a developer and we're looking for an off-the-shelf solution that is easy to use.
I need some advice on which Adobe product is best for us.
    Thanks!

For the time spent learning how to use Illustrator and the cost of it you could probably hire a professional.
If you want to do it yourself for a small company, avoid Adobe all together unless you want to use their 30 day trails - google it for info.
Gimp is good, free, simple. http://www.gimp.org/downloads/
And as above, Publisher and Expression design can be OK - generally it's what you do with the software not the software itself.
