Which apps for iPod touch 4g are compatible with the Apple Digital AV Adapter?
I've got an iPod touch 4g 32 GB, iOS 5.0.1, and I want to buy an Apple Digital AV adapter, especially for my apps. But I have read that not all apps are compatible with this screen synchronisation, so I'm not sure that it is worth it.

Is there a good/cheap app that I can use to create a logo for my photography business. I am just starting off as a photographer and I am unsure of what to use. I currently use Lightroom 4 to edit my photo's, but can't find a place in the program to add text to the photos.

Photo's don't make good logo's as they don't scale well as they are comprised of pixels which clump together when small and look patchy when scaled too large.
Line art is are better because they can scale and use less colors so printing is less expensive than full color with photo's
Most of the logos in your Dock are likey line art.
Take a basic course in graphic design, or have a artist design you a logo that works well on signs, business cards, letterheads etc. -
Recommendations for using iWeb (or another app) for pictures & movies
I created an iWeb site for our family to see pictures and videos of family as well as post a blog on what is new. I love the templates and layout of iWeb, however hosting it with MobileMe makes it impossibly slow to download for users with Internet Explorer.
Any recommendations on how a faster host site or all together a better program outside of iWeb?That's great that you downloaded Firefox and the site loads OK for you. Unfortunately IE users still experience the same thing. You can not expect others to download additional applications in order for them to properly view your content. Look at it this way: if an IE user has been using IE without problems on any other site they visit, then they come across your site and it's displayed improperly, do you really think they'll abandon the application that they've been using up until now just because your site is improperly displayed and you are asking them to download an alternative application to view your site the way it should be displayed? Of course you did because it was your site and you're bias, but do you expect others to simply because it's your site?!?
IE 8 is one of the latest and most secure browsers currently available and approximately %50 of all internet users use IE. You should develop for multiple users across various platforms. The best method to accomplish that is to learn the coding that browsers are rendering (html, css, javascript, etc.) and optimize your code to support multiple variables including browsers, OS, screen size, etc. If you ignore your users then they will most likely ignore you! -
Using locations in photo app for pictures with GPS info
I used a program (Geosetter) to add GPS data to my pictures taken on my camera. However, when I put the pictures on my iphone they dont show up under the locations section in the photo app - is there anyway to fix this?
Many modern cameras add GPS co-ordinates and these will usually show in the info panel of the Media module under Camera Data >> GPS
I guess your exif tools work differently to a camera. Are you able to embed the metadata into the image files before importing into PSE Organizer? -

You are asking several different questions. If you need to store your photos, music, and movies on an external volume, you certainly can. Any externally connected hard disk drive will work, connected either directly to your Mac or to your Time Capsule as a shared volume.
You should not rely upon using that as a backup device though. Although you certainly may use it for both purposes, it is a better idea to have dedicated backup devices for a variety of reasons not limited to redundancy. You would not want to simultaneously lose all your pictures as well as your backup. If they are all on the same device, that could happen. Furthermore, a backup cannot back up the volume on which it is running.
As for adding an Extreme or Express, using its LAN port for your iMac, and then enable Internet sharing so you can effectively use the iMac as a "hotspot", you can do that too, but I am unclear on what benefit you believe this arrangement would convey for you.
An Extreme's Guest network is separate from its Main network; that is the reason for having it. -
Hi... I am looking for an inexpensive app for my macbook pro that I can put pictures and videos together into a slideshow with captions and music WITHOUT a watermark and that also will burn the slideshow to a DVD in its own app. Help?
The issue with the A1400 is that like most economy compact cameras, they will not have very fast focus times in indoor lighting situations. Many people have gone to entry level DSLR's (Canon T3i) or micro 4/3 cameras. They are fairly expensive, but a late model refurbished T3i can sometimes be found with a kit lens for about $300.00. With Auto and scene modes, as well as full manual modes, these are very versatile cameras that focus very quickly, even in lower lighting situations. Canon is not really into the micro 4/3 cameras, instead they are focusing on the new G7x and G1x cameras, which are way out of your price range. The A720 is still available used at some places such as KEH camera, but you'll need to check often as their stock changes constantly. Obviously the DSLR's don't use AA batteries, but the T3i is good for about 600 photos (or more) per charge.
My refurbished DSLR was practically brand new condition when I got it. I could not find any sign of wear at all, so I feel they are a real bargain. These are rugged cameras that are made to last. The A1400 is a $99.00 camera, so it's not intended for heavy usage, plus the image quality of a DSLR (even entry level) is far better than the A1400. That would be my recommendation.

They can be seen in the app "over" which allows for art and lettering to be placed on a photo but I cannot find an album or year for photos before 2012 (in the photo app). The iphone says the photo content is there when I check in "about" under general in settings. So the pictures seem to be somewhere but I just can't access from from the photo app. Any suggestions. I also know that they were there before the iOS7 upgrade as I was looking for a pre 2012 picture last week and it we there.

Setting which app opens a picture
How can you choose which app opens a particular file type on OS 9? Picture viewer has become the default programme for opening pics, we need it to be Photoshop. On OS X, you just Apple-I the icon, and are given the option to choose which app opens that file type, with the option to change all, but I can't find the same thing on OS 9.

That is because OS 9 does not have a similar feature as part of the OS command or preference set.
If the files in question are ones that are downloaded from the net, then try redoing the appropriate filetype settings in the Internet control panel, Advanced tab, File Mapping item to those for Photoshop. This should work for files downloaded from then on.
For files copied from a non-Mac volume, make similar adjustments in the file-program linkages in the File Exchange control panel, PC Exchange tab. This, too, should correct files copied to the drive from then on.
There is no easy way to do a fix for files already on the drive.
• One solution might be to remove QuickTime's PictureViewer utility, then create a linkage in File Exchange > File Translation to have Photoshop open any QT PictureViewer files. Unless PictureViewer is removed, the OS will find it and open the pics with it before seeking an alternate program from the list in File Exchange. Note, though, that this may result in inconvenient behavior when using a browser - QT and PictureViewer are comonly used as a helper app for web graphics.
• Another would be to use a utility app to change the File Type and Creator codes for those files to be the ones for Photoshop. If that is done, then double-clicking the files will open them in Photoshop directly.
One such utility for OS 9 is FileTyper, which is designed to be set up to change the codes on any files dropped onto it - it does that well, but nothing else.
I prefer to use FileBuddy for things like that. It has a host of useful file manipulation features, among which is the ability to create a droplet to make specified changes to files, or to folders full of files, dropped onto it.
An even stronger one is Graphic Converter, which can be set to do a number of changes to files in batch processing mode - not only change the application associated with the file, but also change its type (such as from pict to jpeg), add thumbnails and previews, and even rename/renumber a group of files in sequence. -
I added photos of our company's products to the Goods App for our sales team to use as an electronic catalog. Some of the pictures display perfectly. Others are blury. How can I fix this? I Googled pixel size for Ipads and checked this size against the blury photos. They seem to be less than the max pixels allowed. Must be another solution????

On the subject of the offshore support teams my experience from the other sife of the fence is that many, many of them are very technically orientated. The problem is that the ISPs they work for don't give them access to many of the tools that are needed (they need to raise internal requests to even get line checks done in some cases) and also they are very heavily scripted & monitored in what they do/say on a call.
Sounds like O2 are operating as a contact centre rather than as a call centre which is much more preferable from the customers point of view.

Is there a way to create a password protected folder for pictures or lock the photos app? I want to do this for Ipad air and Iphone 5s. I have other family members that use my Ipad and Iphone and do not want some pictures to be able to be viewed.

Thank, RicPrintopia is another option but be aware that since these solutions effectively act as a print server and AirPrint receiver, they require a computer to be running on the same WiFi network.

iphone4s built-in email is frustrating because it does not allow for replies to incoming mail; deletions and archiving, composing new mail, et al., as gmail does.. is it possible to disable or eliminate iphone email app and sub for gmail app, which i use regulary, just as i do on my laptop?

thanks very much.,In the native iOS app, if you set the default behavior to send a deleted message to Trash, you can still Archive it by moving it to "All Mail" in the same way you can move a message to any other folder.
As for the GMail app, I don't see a need for it but I suppose it depends on what you want. You can have multiple GMail accounts set up on your device with the iOS Mail app, but if you want a quick way to switch between accounts you can use the GMail app for a particular account and iOS Mail for another. Beyond that I don't see any advantage to the GMail app, other than maybe a priority Inbox. The iOS Mail app can do push notifications for GMail if you set it up as an Exchange account (see below), so they're equivalent in that regard.
Since you're a GMail user, you might want to delete your GMail account in iOS settings and re-create it as an Exchange account. That way you get push notifications, and your GMail contacts automatically remain synced between GMail and your device (over the air, no need to re-sync to iTunes). One caveat though: When you set GMail up as an Exchange account, the default behavior of deleting a message is Archive (even though the button will say Delete). To change this default, the only way is to use your iPhone's Safari to navigate to m.google.com/sync after you set up your Exchange account on your iPhone. There you can change the behavior to actually delete a message when you tap Delete. Other than that little task (a one-time thing) you'll be set.
