Which Audigy2 ZS Drivers - CD or Online drivers

I've just bought an Audigy2 ZS sound card (retail) for my XP computer and I'm confused....
Normally when I install new hardware I prefer to use updated drivers from the web, rather than the drivers from the included CD, as they've usually had any bugs in the original drivers fixed. Now I've been to the download page, and I think I've found the drivers I need, but I'm not too sure... The 2 drivers I've downloaded ready to install are:
SBA2_PCWDRV_LB__84_55-R.exe (Audigy2 ZS Driver Update .84.55 [6.34 MB]).
And:
SBA2_EAX4DRV_0303.exe (EAX 4.0 ADVANCED HD Driver Update for...Audigy 2 ZS [3.57 MB]).
(The only other driver available is a beta which don't want to use). Are these the correct drivers I need to install my sound card?Do I need both drivers? If these are wrong which driver should I download?Or do I have to use the drivers on the CD first, then update from the web? What's very confusing is that the first driver states it requires the 'EAX 4.0..' driver installed first. But the 'EAX 4.0..' states "If you later wish to install older or newer versions of...Audigy 2 ZS drivers, you must first uninstall the EAX 4.0 driver update". ?Any help will be very much appreciated.

I would reconmend you install your drivers off the CD and all media ap
ps.
Then use the auto update fuction to update your media applications, I do it this way as its just easier.
Then download the latest beta drivers. You wont need the EAX patch with this driver.
Download the latest OpenAL wrapper http://developer.creative.com/articl...&top=38&aid=46 Simply run the exe. and it self installs. NOTE: install this wrapper AFTER you update your drivers.
Simply over right the drivers with the beta but DO NOT say yes to any prompts stating something like " a file may no longer be needed and can be removed but doing os may cause other apps not to function" SAY NO AND KEEP THEM. I have always installed my driver this way and never had a serious issue yet.
NOTE: the betas may cause some Media Source Apps not to fuction correctly, however for the most things are fine anyway.
If you have issues with any media applications just re-install them. They are located here.
"C:\Program Files\Creative\Software Update\cache\" .
After you do this type in run "msconfig" and in the startup group shut down all Creative related software. You dont need anything here at bootup at all.
Ok, try that and see how ya go.

  • Continuing problems with Audigy2 Zs Drivers. Help!

    Hi all,
I have had a recurring problem now that has gone on for far too long and is really killing me. I have the specs for the computer in my signature.
What happens, is everything works perfectly well until I install my Creative Audigy2 Zs Drivers for my second soundcard. Then when the computer reboots, the pc halts just before desktop to a blank screen for something like 30-45 minutes. The only way I can bootup, is if I remove every USB device from the system. It doesn't matter what USB device is plugged in, the computer just won't boot.
I have tried everything: updating drivers, changing around sound card PCI slot, changing IRQ's but nothing seems to fix the problem until I uninstall the soundcard drivers, where everything boots up as normal.
I really don't understand this, and i'm suprised noone else I can see are having problems with this soundcard, and drivers. I have searched the interweb for a solution, and others that are having this problem, but to no avail so far
    Many thanks for any help,
    Dan

I really don't recognize this problem, but I wonder: what is your first soundcard? Is it an onboard one? Did you try uninstalling those drivers, then install the creative drivers and then reinstall the drivers of the first soundcard? (I asume you want to have two cards installed ..... may I ask why, just curious ...)
My first sound card is the onboard MSI 5.1 chip. I need two soundcards for flightsim (one for aircraft sound, one for vatsim atc). I have tried installing the creative before installing the onboard card, but the same thing

The second thing I can tell you: Creative often makes crappy drivers. One thing you could try is to start MSCONFIG (Start -> Run), and uncheck the SBDrvDet (or SBDrvDetect) in the Startup tab. That item causes some problems...
I will try that thanks. Could this be an IRQ problem (i am quite a newbie when it comes to irq's)

I opened Adobe Acrobate XI Standard to create a form.  I then selected From Template, which took me to Adobe FormsCentral Online.  However, I think the form is an HTML web form.  All I wanted was a regular PDF form that I could email my co-workers for an internal project we're colletively working on.  Now I see that FormsCentral is going away and I can't get my doc to save as a PDF without an upgrade?  Help

You should be able to log into the online Formscentral Acrobat XI air app and see your doc there. From there you would need to save it out as a PDF without a submit button to have it continue to work past July. If you don't see your online form(s) please let me know the adobeID you use to log into the service as well as the form name that is missing and I will look into it for you.

Thanks; starting FireFox in safe mode and disabling all add-ons did solve the problem; however, a new problem has emerged. To re-enable the add-ons, you need to open up and use the add-ons control panel through FireFox. Any attempt to do so causes the FireFox add-on control page to close immediately.
    Thanks for your help.

I have recently purchased the latest ipad. Got to say I am extremely dissapointed that it does not support Java or flash which are platforms needed to do online business banking. I am now faced with ditching an expensive toy for a competitors product that offers full business functionallity. Is there any way round this ? It seems extremely bad form on apples part not to support this or make it very clear of the products limitations at the time of purchase.

Well, my bank has an app but the website does not use Flash or Java.  While my credit union doesn't have an app, their website doesn't require Flash or Java either.
I pay all my bills online, bank, and access my brokerage accounts.  None of the sites I have encountered require Flash or Java.  Some government sites do require Flash so I use Photon, it's a browser that does Flash content very well.  So you might check out some alternatives browsers.
Otherwise I suppose you will either dump you bank, your iPad, or just not do online banking.

  • Mid 2012 13" Macbook Pro Windows 7 Professional 32bit, which Boot Camp Drivers?

    Hi,
I've managed to partition my Hard drive, assigning 100GB to the Windows Partition. I've installed Windows 7 Professional 32 Bit SP1 and have managed to install MS Office 2007 (I've not installed any other updates as I can't connect to the internet over wireless yet as I've not installed the drivers).
I've downloaded three sets of of Boot Camp Drivers and have been unable to get any to work. The ones I've downloaded are:
    Boot Camp Support Software 5.0.5033
    Boot Camp Support Software 4.0.4033
    Boot Camp Support Software 4.1.4586
I now understand that v5 is the wrong version to use, however for both of the "version 4's", it is telling me that they are incompatible with this version of Windows... So I am very confused... I've unzipped the archives and have tried to run the set-up (and even tried the individual drivers)...
Does anyone know where I'm going wrong? I don't know which drivers I should be installing?
    Thanks,
    Alex

I've managed to solve it! Basically, it all came down to installing the "correct" package. I had foolishly assumed that the highest version number would support all the latest product.... However in the end I had to install this package:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1635
Basically, you need to scroll down to the bottom of the page (I assumed all the pages were the same as they have the same introductions), and open up the "system requirements" tab and check to see if your machine is on that list. Once you've found one with your machine, download and run that. Remember to extract the folder from the zipped archive first. It won't run if it's "still within the archive"...
    Cheers,

  • Which Pwr Mgr drivers are needed for XP system in T60

The T60 Drivers list shows two different listings for XP Power Manager.
Which one should I use or do I use both?
Recently had to re-install Windows and Pwr Mgr is giving an exception message while trying to run PWRMGRTR.DLL and the normally green Pwr Mgr icon in the Task Bar is white with dotted black border.
My system is T60 2007-49U running XP Pro.

    Good day.
Looking at this T60 Driver Matrix: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/research/hints-or-tips/detail.page?&LegacyDocID=MIGR-62928
I see only one Power Management Driver (v1.67.0.02, July 2013), for all Windows versions, and only one Power Manager Application (v5.20, April 2013), specifically for XP. Are these what you have installed?
If you're looking at a different driver listing page, would you post the link please?

  • OS 10.9.2 - Sound issues & which Bootcamp SW drivers?

    Hi ...
I have an older mac pro (2008 late) and recently upgraded to 10.9.  To make a short story strait it has been uber **** with 32 bit windows pro but I did eventually get it installed.  What isn't clear is which drivers?  I tried bootcamp 4.1.4586 from apple's site but when I try to run the installer in windows mode I get a complaint that the version isn't compatible with my version of windows.  What should I be running?  Should I just bail and use x64 bootcamp and a 5.x version instead?  As well I have a long standing problem getting sound to be anything but a whisper.
Any ideas?  This upgrade to 10.9 just made a not great situation worse at least for sound and figuring out which drviers to use.
    Cheers
