Which book is good for XML

Can anyone recommend which book is good for XML

What about XML? Just about XML? Or about dealing with XML in Java? What is it you need to know? The question is too vague. But I'd advise strongly against delving into XML yet, since you don't [understand exceptions|http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5445446&messageID=11022931] yet, or how to interpret compiler output or stack traces. Without understanding those three things, you're seriously going to have a nervous breakdown if you start playing with XML.

    Hi All
I wish to be recommend a good book for Java 2 Certification Study Guide for SCJP.
Hopefully it is a book with good explanation.
    regards
    Tj

    Hello;
I ran a SCJP5 study group at my work to get us all certified. We went with with Sierra, Bates book. ISBN 0072253606. The group found the book very useful and clear in understanding.
Most in the study group were vetran Java developers without any certifications. There was one or two that were learning Java. All of us had our annual bonus depanant on passing the cert. We were all highly motivated.

  • It's the Mac book air good for graphic design and video editing ?

I'm into graphic design for clothing logos etc. and I'm a photographer my question is, is the Mac book air good for these things?

ideally a 15" would be best for same, as referring to the 15" macbook Pro.
For a photographer, which I used to be long ago, either the Air or Pro are close in form factor for travel with only one moving part, and SSD.
The retina display in combination with the 15" would be idea as best choice for photo editing and graphic design.

  • Guide me as a developer of iOS and also and active online game player of games like PWI, which macBook is good for me pro or air or other if any ?

    Hi,
I am now to macBooks and dont know which one is good for me.
Please guide me which one I have to buy.
    Regards,

The retina display MacBook Pros are very lightweight, so you won't really notice a weight difference between a 15" or 13" one. If you can afford it, get the 15" notebook.
Purchase the most powerful configuration you can afford.  If you can afford it, get the larger SSD - but, you can always get a portable external hard drive that you can take with you if you find the internal drive is too small.

  • HT1689 which ipad is good for Panama att or verizon

which ipad is good for Panama att or verizon ?

    AT&T by far.
GSM dominates the overall worldwide market by a significant margin.
Check AT&T's website for how many GSM network "partners" they have throughout the world compared to Verizon.
    Copied from AT&T's website.
Stay connected while traveling to more than 220 countries and on more than 140 cruise ships, and access email and the Internet in more than 195 countries.
I believe Verizon has 35 countries.

i have macbook 5.2 and i am using Mac OS 10.5.8 . which one is good for me to upgrade and how to do that..plz help me

You have a 13" Early or Mid 2009 MacBook. Either one can run OS X Mavericks with enough RAM, 2 GB minimum. But first you will need to update to OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.8 so that you have the Mac App Store installed on your MacBook
    Buy this from apple;
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
    Then download and update with this update combo;
OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.8 v1.1 update combo
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
After this you will have the Mac App Store on your MacBook and you should be able to download and install OS X Mavericks for free!
    Your MacBook must meet these minimum tech specs to run Mavericks;

  • Which DVD are good  for burning

I tried many different dvd/cd for burning movies and music, but they are not all working very well.
Does somebody knows which dvd are good for burning movies and music.

    Hi Sue,
Thanks for your answer. I bought them also before, but it seems that not all working very good.
I burned dvd's and play them on my Home theather. Beginning good, later it gave reading problems. What I also know is: Dvd players from 40 euro's works better then one from 1600 euro's.
I shall buy the -R this week and hopefully the work better.

  • Which book is best for learning Lightroom 5 for a complete beginner?

I'm an Aperture user and as everyone has heard the news, a lot of us are considering switching over. I went through the Apple pro-training aperture, logic, and FCP books and loved the format of those. I've been reviewing my options for LR5 books on Amazon and I see a couple, Kelby, Evening, and The Adobe Classroom in a book. I kind of like the classroom in a book format as it resembles the Apple book's format. Which book is best for learning LR5, from a complete beginner's perspective?

I would avoid Kelby like the plague. I didn't like his book, I felt his chapters on the Library module were effectively useless and off the mark.
I would start with the free e-book Lightroom 5 - Free Quick Start Guide PDF eBook | The Lightroom Queen
I would also watch some videos at Products | Lightroom | Adobe TV

  • Which combination is good for web-application ?

Which combination is good for web-application
    (struts,hibernet,spring) or (jsf,hibernet,spring)?
Plz let me know if any one have any knowledge on this...
    Thanks and Regards
    kundan krishna

There is no definite answer to your question. Removing the common elements, I think your question boils down to, which is better? Struts or JSF? Struts is an action-based framework whereas JSF is component-based. JSF has a standard specification with implementation from multiple vendors whereas Struts is just a third-party (Apache) framework. Struts has been around for a real long time compared to JSF. Hope these pointers help. I suggest you read up more on these frameworks before making a final decision.

  • Which book is good to learn the fundamentals of SQL?

    Hi Everyone,
I am preparing for the Exam-1Z0-051( Oracle Database 11g: SQL Fundamentals I).
I want to know which of the following two books is best for preparation and covers each topic in great depths.

I have no prior experience in SQL. Your guidance will be highly appreciated.

    Hi,
Here is a book that has gotten great reviews:
Oracle SQL By Example (4th Edition)
    Alice Rischert, 2009
    Publisher is Prentice-Hall.
    ISBN-10: 0137142838
ISBN-13: 978-0137142835Unfortunately I do not have a copy, therefore this "recommendation" is from hearsay. It is very well regarded. Personally, I like to learn by example.
The remaining books I mention are not Oracle specific, (which depending on your viewpoint, could be a good thing)
I am using the following book to learn SQL:
    SQL Cookbook
    By Anthony Molinaro
    Publisher: O'Reilly
    Pub Date: December 2005
    Print ISBN-10: 0-596-00976-3
Print ISBN-13: 978-0-59-600976-2 I recommend this book with some reservations. In many of the solutions he provides he relies on completely artificial relationships in the data (relying on anything but enforced relationships in the data is a very bad thing to do!). If you study the way I do then, those bad solutions are actually a good thing, reworking the poor solutions into something that is production worthy is an excellent exercise. Lastly, if you decided to learn using this book, you will need to read the Oracle manuals to supplement the information (good thing to do anyway.)
    I have also used
    The Practical SQL Handbook
By Judy S. Bowman, Sandra L. Emerson and Marcy Darnovsky
    Publisher: Addison Wesley Publishing
ISBN: 0-201-62623-3I consider this book a very good book. Chapter 2 is probably the best short, succinct and lucid explanation I've read on how to design and normalize a database, why to index, not index on a column and, other fundamental concepts of database design. (I wish more DBAs had read that chapter :( .) The information on those topics is presented in a single chapter, yet, they do a better job at it than other books do in hundreds, if not thousand+, pages. Their explanation of the SQL language is good but slow paced for my taste. Still, chapter 2 alone is worth the price of the book.
Lastly, one thing I recommend is, don't learn just what the test requires. You want to KNOW your stuff. Passing the test is just a formality, be aware of what they will ask but, don't limit your acquisition of knowledge to the domain defined by test.
    HTH and good luck,
    John.

  • Is the mac book pro good for gaming?

Is it good for heavy minecraft work? And which core should I get?
    Thanks

Minecraft does not have heavy system requirements, so any of the current models will play minecraft just fine. Either the Core i5 or Core i7 will do for what Minecraft requires, so if you are only interested in Minecraft then I'd go for whatever fits your best price (the 15-inch will ultimately do better than the 13 inch because of the dedicated graphics card). If you are looking to extend beyond Minecraft and do heavy graphics processing in games or otherwise, then go for the Core i7 and higher quality dedicated graphics card.
