Which Business Security Solution is common seen / used in your country? [malware event]

Hi all
I believe some of the technical people would be curious and try to find out what security solutions is used for government, education, place of interest or organizations. I am one of it. * I did not use any of their machines, I saw it through Taskbar.
I am not biased for any security products, this is based on what I seen outside. Commonly either Symantec or McAfee in Singapore for business security.
Government managed hospital - Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition
IBM Singapore - Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition
Institute of Technical Education Singapore - Symantec Endpoint Protection
Singapore Polytechnics (including Student's Personal Laptop if direct purchase) - Symantec Endpoint Protection
Primary and Secondary Schools (under Ministry of Education) - McAfee VirusScan Enterprise
SCDF - McAfee VirusScan Enterprise
I also seen some Microsoft and ESET security products running around SMB when I was asked to go to client sites to assist setup for presentation. So far, I have not seen any other products from other security vendors.
It would be great if you can share your findings, so all of us would know which security vendors is more popular for different areas, etc.

X61 - Vista Business - Client Security Solution Error - There was a problem connecting to the TPM

During startup my x61 has been displaying the following message, 'Client Security Solution' - "There was a problem connecting to the TPM (security device) ont his computer. It is possile that anti-virus or firewall software is blocking the connection. A missing or disabled device driver could also cause this problem. Please refer to the online documentation for more information".
I have spent an extraordinary amount of time and effort to find identify the cause and a solution for this problem. It occurs whether or not virus software is enabled or disabled and numerous calls to Lenovo, Symantec, Kaspersky, and Microsoft have resulted in finger pointing and no answers. None of the vendors acknowledge the problem yet this same issue is a significant topic of concern as found in various blogs and 'help' sites. Lenovo thought it was hardware and changed the motherboard. Lenovo told me to call Microsoft since it was a Vista issue. Microsoft told me to call Lenovo since Vista Business was preinstalled on the machine. Lenovo told me to call Microsoft and so it goes. I removed Symantec's anti-virus and replaced it with Kaspersky.
The strangest thing is that the module works intermitently and it seems that everytime a Lenovo update is performed (via Thinkvantage) the problem reoccurs for sometime.
Does anyone out there have an understanding of the cause and a potential solution???

Prior to this, I had reinstalled all programs, starting with the Recovery Disks for the Think Pad. Everything, including start up, was exceptionally fast. Once I ran the most recent BIOS updates, along with several others, this error message surfaced. It is intermittent, however, and I have not noted an issue.
In reviewing several other Message Boards, I have seen this issue raised several times. Using Microsoft Security Essential as Enterprise security solution and deploy via domain policy

I am trying to deploy Microsoft Security Essential in a enterprise via domain policy, and met following questions ,Would anyone help?
1. Is Microsoft Security Essential the right choice for enterprise security protection solution and if Security essential will cover enterprise security scenario in future? It seems Microsoft had Forefront Endpoint Protection as enterprise security
solution but it was deprecated. While, Security Essential is mainly target for consumers.
2. I can extract msi from setup.exe, but is there an official MSI version of Security Essential? Is there any document about the MSI parameters?
3. Is there a domain policy template(admx) for Security Essential?
4. As Security Essential has x86 and x64 versions. and it has built-in in win8. How would I make sure
x86 computers install x86 msi of security essential.
x64 computers install x64 msi of securit yessential.

You are correct, Microsoft Security Essential is not for Enterprise use.
Technical you can deploy it but its hard to manage central.
Microsoft Enterprise solution for antimalware is System Center 2012 Endpoint Protection which is included in System Center 2012 Configuration Manager.

Which Apple and PC wireless security solution?

We have several apple users and pc users so I want to find out what the better security solution will be for our wireless.
Currently we run LEAP and MAC authentication. I also use TKIP and CKIP. We have ACS for radius.
Would PEAP be better? And should I use WPA? I want something that is very secure and very compatible accross platforms and not too much overhead or too complex to manage.

Apple finally added support for WPA and wireless authentication in Panther (OS X 10.3). Make sure you download all the Apple updates when you connect. We are authenticating both PC and Apple users with WPA and PEAP...

T61p Client Security Solutions + Password Manager + Two Operating Systems

Greetings.
I am running both XP and VISTA on my T61p. I use the client security solutions password manager feature for websites and network shares. Since my model has the biometric scanner instead of entering the user ID and password I just swipe my finger. The issue is that when I first setup client security solutions it creates some system key that I assume is tied to the security chip hardware. Once I have it setup and working under one operating system it fails to authenticate me under the other operating system. It brings up a windows that says, "Verify Identity" / "reason for authentication: system key recovery" Why am I not able to use this feature under both operating systems?

I was using an older version of RnR, however, after the attempt to re-install, I upgraded to the latest version. It still errors out.
As to your second guess, I was hopefull this was the fix, I had forgotten to go through the registry. I deleted an empty CSS folder in the Common Files folder. And found several registry entries which have now been deleted. I don't believe I missed any. But unfortunately no luck. I cleared the chip again as well.
If it adds any clues, the system update was not working either. But the language fix posted on the forums resolved it. If I remember correctly the first time I tried to reinstall CSS it did ask a question/comment about language not matching. I could be wrong, however, there have been alot of attempts.
I spoke with tech support on the phone with the only suggestion being a clean restore of the laptop which I would like to avoid.

Lenovo Security Solution FP 5.9.2.5697 and firefox 3.6 + password bank extension not working ?

I have a thinkpad T61 with WXP SP3 and I have recently upgraded the finger print software from the UPEK site after selecting the lenovo laptop and it took me to the lenovo support site where I have downloaded the latest finger print sofware protector suite ql and it was working fine recently Until i have upgraded my firefox 3.5 to ff 3.6 to the latest version. I have recently seen my lenovo software not working on the latest firefox 3.6 extension. I have contacted the UPEK guys and they said to contact the lenovo support since I have the customized version of their software which is true. and its not working, i get a message that the passwork bank extension do not work with my latest ff 3.6. So please provide me the customized version of the latest password bank FP 5.9.2.5697 extension to use my t61 with the firefox 3.6. Please let me know if you need any details, I hope there are a lot of other customers as well who are facing the same problem as mine, since I have seen many blogs with the same question. So lenovo please help all the customers.

I have exactly installed the extension rite on the releaes day....the one which u have sent but its not working on my system, I have wxp professional edition sp3 + firefox 3.6 + Lenovo security solution FP 5.9.2.5697 downloaded from the lenovo support site. I had it working until I had my firefox upgrade from 3.5.7 to 3.6 recently a week ago. I have upgraded the password bank from the upek site ( the link which u have sent) rite on the release day of the extension which is on the 28th Jan 2010 at around 1:00 PM since I was checking their update site very frequently and I was so happy that they have released the extension for ff 3.6 ..but after installing it dint work, I have to use IE8 which i do not like at all, but I had no choice since my ff 3.6 is not working at all with the upek ff 3.6 extension. When ever I open the ff 3.6 for the first time it says my installed upek extension do not work since its not supported. I am currently checking the lenovo forum and chekcing upek update link ...may be if some one will provide solution to this problem. I am in touch with UPEK tech support guys as well, they said to wait for some more days untill they release the customized extension version for the latest ps ql 5.9.2.5697 version and also doing the lenovo system update regularly twice to see ....if lenovo had released any customized version of the extension for the LSS FP 5.9.2.5697 users. I hope I had given u all the needed information, let me tell u my password bank is 100% legal and from the lenovo site and its absolutely working fine with my ie8 browswer. Client Security Solution problem (Vista)

I have installed the lenovo fingerprint software and Client Security Solution 8.1 on my N200 0769. Unfortunately, CSS doesn't recognize my fingerprint reader. I can logon with the fingerprint software the way it is meant, so it can't be a hardware problem.
Under Windows XP both programs worked perfectly together so I could enter login data in Firefox by simply scanning my finger. I don't understand why the software doesn't work with Vista...

Client Security Solutions cannot reinstall

Hello.
I have a T61. Recently loaded with xp. I updated the Client Security Solutions to 8.2 and the firefox 3.0 patch both of which went well. The password manager worked fine for a week or so and then stopped communicating. It would not even manage the database. I uninstalled css only to find I could not reinstall it. Each attempt fails with a dialog box stating error 25003, failed to check computer manufacturer. I've also tried to install version 8.1 with the same error. I've cleared the TPM and ran system updates. At this point short of a clean installl factory reset of the entire laptop, I'm at a loss. Below is the end of the install log. How to create a Real Time Interactive Business Intelligence Solution in SharePoint 2013

Hi Experts,
I was recently given the below requirements to architect/implement a business intelligence solution that deals with instant/real data modifications in data sources. After going through many articles, e-books, expert blogs, I am still unable to piece the
right information to design an effective solution to my problem. Also, client is ready to invest in the best
infrastructure in order to achieve all the below requirements but yet it seems like a sword of Damocles that hangs around my neck in every direction I go.
Requirements
1) Reports must be created against many-to-many table relationships and against multiple data sources(SP Lists, SQL Server Custom Databases, External Databases).
2) The Report and Dashboard pages should refresh/reflect with real time data immediately as and when changes are made to the data sources.
3) The Reports should be cross-browser compatible(must work in google chrome, safari, firefox and IE), cross-platform(MAC, Android, Linux, Windows) and cross-device compatible(Tabs, Laptops &
Mobiles).
4) Client is Branding/UI conscious and wants the reports to look animated and pixel perfect similar to what's possible to create today in Excel 2013.
5) The reports must be interactive, parameterized, slice able, must load fast and have the ability to drill down or expand.
6) Client wants to leverage the Web Content Management, Document Management, Workflow abilities & other features of SharePoint with key focus being on the reporting solution.
7) Client wants the reports to be scalable, durable, secure and other standard needs.
Is SharePoint 2013 Business Intelligence a good candidate? I see the below limitations with the Product to achieve all the above requirements.
a) Cannot use Power Pivot with Excel deployed to SharePoint as the minimum granularity of refresh schedule is Daily. This violates Requirement 1.
b) Excel Services, Performance Point or Power View works as in-memory representation mode. This violates Requirement 1 and 2.
b) SSRS does not render the reports as stated above in requirement 3 and 4. The report rendering on the page is very slow for sample data itself. This violates Requirement 6 and 7.
Has someone been able to achieve all of the above requirements using SharePoint 2013 platform or any other platform. Please let me know the best possible solution. If possible, redirect me to whitepapers, articles, material that will help me design a effective
solution. Eagerly looking forward to hear from you experts!.

Request for the business rule solution to my requirement in SOA suite PS5

Hello Experts,
Could anyone please help me with an easy solution to build the business rule solution to my requirement in SOA suite 11.1.1.6.0?
When I get the Input (Request), I need to get the output (Response) as below

I created a bucket set with Brand1, Brand2 and linked to the input value. I build the rule set and I got rules at conditions tab like R1 - Brand1, R2 - Brand2 and R3 - Brand1, Brand2. when i tried to add action on this rule at R1, i got conflict with R3. same is the case with R2 also.
Can anyone please let me know how can I resolve this?

The first one is answered by Arghadip. Regarding the second one, what do you mean by incorporate (or what other term do you mean?). You want a batch program in your workflow? Why do you need a batch program? You can create an event when a person is fired (just like when he is hired) and wait for this event in the workflow. So no need to create a batch program (which would use basically the same solution, an event).

Client Security Solution And System Key Recovery

Hey,
I have an IBM ThinkPad T40 2373-82M Laptop. Everytime Windows starts up Client Security Solution displays a box which is prompting me to enter a password of some sort for authentication. It indicates at the top of the window that the reason for authentication is 'System Key Recovery'. If I click the 'OK' button it brings up another window indicating that authentication has failed and that the security key could not be recovered. I do not recall ever entering a password in the Client Security Soultion programme or anywhere else on my laptop. I am not the first owner of this laptop and I am wondering if the previous owner may still have his/her password in the system? Is there any methid for which I could reset/restore these key's?
Any help is appreciated.

I must say I have read various issues on the web regarding this particular software buddled with Lenovo T series and although I will be uninstalling it I do not believe there is any support on this whatsoever. Too bad cause I did want to use it ...

Security solution with Identity server for SOX compliance

Hi all,
Has anybody used Identity Server as security solution to achieve SOX compliance? i want to know general view, opinions , experiance of ppl while implementing such solution.
Just a little background of SOX: It is Created by US Congress in the wake of corporate scandals like Enron in 2001 and 2002.it is an attempts to tighten controls over corporate financial reporting and transparency.
I am basically interested in implementing security solutions using Identity server for SOX compliance. Section 404 of this act deals with internal controls, which essentially requires organizations to provide following facilities -
1. User Identification, authorization and access
2. User control of user accounts
3. Central identification and access rights/permissions management
4. Violation and security activity report
Has anybody developed such solution? What are your general experiance, problems , issues etc? Please share your view....
