can anyone tell me which codec itunes uses when you buy a movie from itunes, I have been told it uses H.264, can anyone please clarify this.

I have videos from a Canon Powershot camera which are in 1280 × 720, H.264, Linear PCM. I can import these videos to iMovie on iPad but when I open iMovie it does not show the files.

iMovie was made to edit video shot on iOS devices; there is no support list, it was made to edit iOS video.
This allows iMovie to be stable (or should make it stable as the case may be).
That said, you are importing the video wrong, and may be in luck with your video.
The File sharing pane is just for importing iMovieiOS projects.
iMovie cannot edit video in the Movies app.
iMovie edits video that can be seen in the photos app.
So you need to import it via the photos tab, as you would photos.
The other option is using the camera connect kit.
If you can see the video in the Photos app, it is highly likely that you can edit it.
But be warned that using non-iOS sourced video can make iMovie very buggy and flakey.
Avid for iPad is made to edit more formats and might be a better choice if you have trouble.

Peferling... I have a positive update! I went to the area that typically made things die. I noticed it was at the tail end of where I inserted a sequence into another sequence. I also noticed I had three tracks in that section with graphics. So I copied all the tracks from the inserted sequence... then removed the inserted sequence and re-inserted the actual tracks. At this point I no longer had an inserted sequence. I then simplified the three tracks of graphics into one. Re-applied my transitions and did last tweaking. I once again tried exporting as H.264 HD... et voila! It worked! Something must have been breaking it.
For now I'm okay and have been able to export into other formats. I want to thank you so much for your input. Regards, Nelson

The music and videos sync to the 4G, but apps & podcast will not. All are checked to sync. During sync, it gets to "determining apps to sync" then immediately goes to "finished syncing". No apps or podcasts from my Mac itunes are on the touch 4G.

You can only sync to one iTunes library but you can manage music and videos among different computer/libraries.
It appears that you are trying to sync with a different library.
- If you want to make the Mac you syncing computer:
--- Connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by:
iOS: How to back up
--- Restore the iPod from that backup. Note that synced media like apps and music are not in included in the backup.

Does iTunes come with 32bit and 64bit install?

I have Windows 7 and it's a 32bit and 64bit Gaming Laptop G73SW.
I've done all the troubleshoot tips, which has just made my computer worse.eg all icons changed, things now missing, so probably have to do a System Retore to get it all back.
Every time i speak to Apple, they're suggestions just make my computer stuffed, iTunes takes over all my programs etc.
Simply put: Does iTunes come with a 32bit and 64bit Install??? If not i won't be using that program.
Which makes it hard for my line of work atm as an Alpha and Beta Games Tester for many Private Platforms i play on.

Re-installing iTunes wont erase your folders, unless your iTunes is a very old version pre-iTunes 9 series.
I would suggest to download the latest iTunes, it would solve your problem as in this earlier post

Using the latest Production Studio Software...
What is the best way, or actually Any way, to work with film (16mm) and video (DV), in the same project. Final medium will probably be DVD -- Do I have to keep my two sets of footage seperate until they are chapters of a DVD? Or is their a way to make my movie in Final Cut?
I think this is obvious, but what I'm talking about is a single movie that will contain footage shot with a miniDV camcorder and 16mm movie film, with quite a bit of back and forth between the two?
To make it more convoluted, one (of several DV) cameras is a DVX-100A, and we're partial to the 24p Advanced look, but always have trouble using it together with our other 29.97 video.

Unless you are going back to film, there is NO reason to run everything at 24. ESPECIALLY if you have 30fps material.
If you do not understand pull-down and how it is that 24fps material like the film you've transfered to tape is running at 30 but with its essentially 24fps film-look, this link does a pretty good job of explaining 24P and 24PA.
Thus your film footage is running at 29.97, your 24P video is running at 29.97, and your video is running at 29.97 - Seems like a no brainer to edit at 29.97, no? If you want to make your video look more like film, if it is 60i, you can use Graeme Nattress's Film Effects.
I suppose if you are hellbent on running your timeline at 23.98, then after you convert the 60i material to 24P, you could take an additional step of processing all your media and removing the pulldown to get 23.98 material, but my question, again, would be why?

An iPod Touch that your dad found is not YOUR iPod Touch. As indicated, it should be turned in to the police, in the jurisdiction where it was found. Note that if it's up-to-date, it will be unusable if you don't know the original owner's Apple ID, even if you wipe it. Plus, if it manages to connect to a wifi network, the owner could track its location and get the police involved himself. This is not something you want to fool around with.

Grayed out songs on iTunes despite "Manage music and videos manually" being checked.

I had to restore my iPod, and when I synced it after the restore, the songs were gone on my iPod like it is supposed to be, but on iTunes they are still there but grayed out. I have already done the "manage music and videos manually" thing, I delete all of the grayed out songs and try to add the songs from my library back to my iPod, but they are still grayed out. Please help if you can, I would greatly appreciate it.

I don't use manually manage so I'm at a loss as to why anyone would.
However, if I was Syncing my iPod to iTunes, then the picture you have posted would be just like that while iTunes was busy putting my music back onto my iPod. That's what the little double-arrow icon means; it's a list of files that you have asked to be put on the iPod (in my case, by Syncing the ticked items in my Library and in yours - apparently, by manually dragging them from the library to the iPod).
As each file is successfully added to the iPod, the progress arrows icon disappears and the song (file) name is no longer greyed out.

I am a lifelong Mac user and Mac afficionado who is trying to keep the faith using a Late 2010 15" MacBook Pro, but ever since I decided to go all-in on the service formerly known as MobileMe it seems my Mac experience has been degrading progressively. iTunes Match, with it's constant re-starts, interrupted playback, inexplicably greyed-out and unplayable tracks and flat-out crashes, is nothing like what my Mac experience used to be. It's disappointing, and it's no advertisement for iTunes Radio.
Currently considering whether to re-up iTunes Match or simply use a hard drive and forget about it for good.

- I do not sign out of Match prior to closing iTunes
- The Match process seems to be ongoing at intervals throughout the given day and while it's not in the "background" as I wish it was, I try not to pay attention to what it's doing. Therefore I would need to guess that there are many, many times I close iTunes when the "current" Match process is underway and not complete.
- Yes, thanks for asking about the "Waiting" tracks. Yes, there are many and they remain as "Waiting" even after Match tells me its work here is through.
- My internet connection varies, currently 7.59 down / 22.81 up.

the music to my Airport Express in the other room (which has speakers hooked to it). But if I use the same MacBook in the kitchen, near the Airport Express,

Possible. I would re-do the setup on the airport express using the airport utility and make sure the airport express is set to join the network and not to extend the network.
