Which countries Lumia 2520 will work best in Austr...

So Nokia aren't releasing the 2520 in Australia.
The question I have is which country do I buy one from; the United States or United Kingdom to get the best compatability with 4G bands with Telstra in Australia.
The US 2520 has products specs quoting the following bands:
LTE network bands: 2, 4, 5, 17
The UK 2520 has products specs quoting the following bands:
LTE network bands: 3, 7, 20
The Lumia 1020 uses the following bands in Australia:
LTE network bands3: 1, 3, 7, 8, 20
This seems to suggest the UK is a closer match but still misses two bands, I just don't know if those are Optus or Telstra.
But I'll be damned if I can find any info from Telstra to try and match the bands they use with these devices.
Does anyone have any ideas please?
Thanks!

Hi there
I'd seen this article; I think the references to it such as B1 or B40 are the same as the bands listed on the Nokia site.
IF that was right then it shows that the missing bands do seem to be Telstra based ones.
The bit I don't understand is how to then translate that information in to an implication for coverage if you don't have those bands enabled.
Thanks for the link though it did help move it forward a bit further,

  • Which of these stereos will work best w/ my iPhone 4 in my 2003 Chevy S10?

Hey guys, I'm looking for a new stereo deck for my 2003 Chevy S10 that will work with my iPhone 4. Which of these do you think would do the trick the best? Thanks a lot!
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/part-finder/slide-show/2003/Chevrolet/S10/ref=aupf_dp_lf_lad_14?ie=UTF8&partsNode=10980621&carId=001

You're probably not going to get a good answer in here as this is a forum specifically for the iPhone, and not car stereo head units. My suggestion is to read the user reviews on Amazon or Crutchfield.com and make sure the unit you're interested in works with iP4. It seems with each OS update, some car stereo units no longer work with the iP4.

  • Which camera will work best with the MAC? NIKON or Canon

Contemplating on buy a camera and a MAC, but need to know which camera will work best with a MAC, Nikon or Canon? Any info is appreciated

Both will work very well. You might not even need to install the software that comes with them because they'll probably work fine with iPhoto etc. Before you buy a camera, check this list of cameras supported by OS X:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3825
Just about all Nikon and Canon cameras are on that list. If a camera is so new it is not yet on that list, it will be in the next update, probably.
That list is for raw format compatibility. If your camera also shoots JPEG, it will work with a Mac even if it's not on that list. If a camera doesn't work by plugging in a cable, take the card out and put it in an ordinary USB card reader and the Mac will read it.
Nikon has a slight advantage in that it supports a mode that lets the Mac mount a camera like a disk on the desktop. Canons don't mount on the desktop, but it's not really a disadvantage, because Canons still work great with Apple iPhoto, Apple Aperture, Apple Image Capture, and Adobe apps, and all of those are more efficient ways of transferring photos than dragging them out manually.

  • HT1349 which Sound Dock Music System will work best with my new iPod Touch 5th genertion

Which Sound Dock Music System will work best with my new iPod Touch 16GB 5th generation ?
I have been reading on line about how many don't. So what does. This was one of the main reasons I bought it. Will it work in one of the Bose Sound Dock Systems ?

    paula393 wrote:
There will be no problems connecting. I am hearing that there are connection problems with the5th generation iPod Touch to the Sound Docks. As well, which systems will produce the best sound?
I have heard of no such problems with connection.
Regarding sound, it's simply a matter personal preference.  My suggestion is to go to the nearest Apple Store and try out a couple.  Each of the products at the store have passed an extensive vetting process.  The Specialists are willing to work with you and may even open a box or two.  Don't be unreasonable and expect to spend a half-day opening all the different models.  In other words, don't abuse their willingness to provide stellar customer service.
Better yet, direct your eyballs to the store shelf or the Apple website.  That's really all you need to know.

Keep in mind that all iPhone 5s currently available in the US are built for the US customer.  It is avaialable unlocked by US law.  This law does not extend beyond US borders.  If the iPhone becomes locked at some future date (this has happened), there will be no recourse.
My suggestion is to wait until Apple releases the factory unlocked iPhone 5s for the international market.

  • I have question about hooking up an external hdd to a time capsule and still have my printer hooked up as well. Anyone got any tips for me, how to do it and what brand of harddrive that will work best for me 1 or 2 TB

i have question about hooking up an external hdd to a time capsule and still have my printer hooked up as well. Anyone got any tips for me, how to do it and what brand of harddrive that will work best for me 1 or 2 TB

You just need a powered hub.. if you already use one then fine.
Plug in just about any external hard disk will work fine. Format has to be readable by the TC.. ie fat32.. or much better HFS+.. plug it into a Mac to prepare the drive.
Pick whatever size suits.. nowadays 2TB are most economical.
WD, Seagate have goobled up all the minor players.. so pick one.
Whatever suits your budget and asthetics.
NOTE.. The USB on the TC is fine for printers.. IMHO it is the wrong way to go with USB disks.. use the internal disk of the TC.. USB is less than half the native speed plugged into a Mac.. TC to USB is slow.. far slower than internal drive.. or using external drive as external.

  • Which adobe photoshop elements will work on osx 10.5.8 platform

I bought photo shop elements 10 a couple of weeks ago and loaded it on to my computer which is Power Mac G5 running on OS X 10.5.8 Leopard. When I loaded the software on to the hard drive there seemed to be no problem. The file appeared as adobe Photoshop Elements 10 and included the sun flower icon.
    Point 1:
When I open the file I have four additional icons (deploy - packages - payloads - Install) the install folder is red and has a no entry motif in white when you click this icon the massage comes up 'You can't open the application "Install" because its not supported on this architecture.
    Point 2:
When I click on the sun flower icon Photoshop Elements 10 its takes me straight to Photoshop Elements 2 an old version that was transfered when I had to change the computer. If I click on the elements 2 icon it launches for a couple of seconds and an error message then comes on "An unexpected and unrecoverable problem has occurred because of a programe error. Photoshop will now exit.
I would be most grateful for your assistance. Mac user North Yorkshire England

  • What online photo storage will work best with icloud?

I have 2 laptops and a iMac plus 3 iPhones and one iPad. Currently we have our photos all over the place, (20,000+).
What online photo storage will work best with the future icloud? looking for the best integration and security.

Thanks for the link.  I'd seen that.  I have indeed formally submitted feedback via Apple formal process.  I've even called Apple Care (had coverage under one of these boxes) and they put me in touch with Pro Apps.
All those folks could do was register my concern/complaint because there is NOTHING being provided within Apple that answers the question "what about my Aperture online gallery capability?".
If you happen to see a link offering any specific guidance or relevant migration solutions from abandoned MobileMe/Gallery users and customers and fans, please post it.
    I shall do likewise.
Since I can't activate iCloud services until I abandon MobileMe, and I won't abandon MobileMe and commit to all the migration time and effort until I'm convinced that replacement solution will be around for more than a few months, right now, I am caught in an Apple-caused chain of dependencies that leaves me quite frustrated!  Therefore, my search continues in earnest -- the part of the solution that concerns me most?  How many Apple software products that I've come to depend on are now obsolete or incompatible.....iWork, iWeb, iPhoto and Aperture all come to mind as potential victims to Apple's latest "progress"!

  • Which accessory will work best?

I posted on here less than a month ago asking about the 30-pin to lightning adapter for the iPhone 5, seeing if it would work with my '08 Volkswagen Jettas iPod Adapter. Sadly to say, I should have listened to my gut feeling (but I appreciate the effort in trying to help) that it didn't work. I was looking around on the Google machine here, and found through a forum these things from CableJive. THey didn't say if they worked or not and I was wondering if anybody had any ideas if they do or not? Or if they think it would work?

Anyone have any tries with these things at all? THink it would work (although it does say it)? Just want to be sure this time. If you do, which would be the best buy?
    Thanks Community!
    Kyle

I hope this reaches you in time. Turns out none of Cablejive's solutions will work with VW's built in ipod adapter. Take a look at this link: http://www.cablejive.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=7467

  • Which Iphone 5S model will work in both USA and Israel on LTE?

Which IPhone 5S work in both USA and Israel with LTE? Is it the European or American model? GSM or CDMA?

The issue is what channels would be used varries by nation to nation.  Since I have very limited access to Jordan and Egypt it really doesn't matter to the average Israeli company what will work there.  There is currently Orange's LTE in Israel which I read/hear conflicting information as to which LTE bands are being used.  Further then there is a new LTE slighted from Cellcom/Golan/Pelephone that I'm curious to see what bands they will be using.  From this information it would be possible to know which is the one to use for LTE.
Realistically it would seem that getting a Verizon/Sprint would be the best route, in that you would have a working set for America, plus foreign bands for Europe and hopefully Israel.  Orange already sells the iPhone in Israel, but it doesn't indicate which model it uses.
Since the iPhone in Israel is so much more expensive, it's still cheaper to buy in Israel and get serviced in the USA if need be.  But realistically these phones never really have problems that can't be solved so dificultly that I would worry about having to go back to the US. As from my understanding the warranties have to be honored globally.  Just as if I have a problem with my computer I don't have to go back to the US to get it fixed.

  • Which of these accesories will work 100% with the iPod Nano?

title about sums it, which will work with the ipod nano:
    Radio Remote
    http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore?productLearnMore=MA0 70G/A
    AV Connection Kit
    http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore?productLearnMore=MA2 42LL/A
ALSO is the av kit overkill for the iPod Nano? The av cable looks like it would not work,no video from Ipod so what the point of a video cable? Also I am pretty sure it doesn't have an ir reciever for a wireless remote so what that part of the av kit be useless too?

The a/v kit won't work with the nano. Specifically the v part. The audio and the rest will work, though.
The radio remote works 100% with the nano.

    Thanks

    Hej
    iMovie'11
iMovie History 08, 09 & 11These are NOT AN EVOLUTION FROM Previous versions (iMovie 1 to HD6) but a totally new application.
    iMovie 08 (v7) 7.1.4 (aug 2007)
    • A new way of storing project and an event library as well
    • A totally new product in a pre-release state. Far from a working application.
    • Lacks even basal functions
    • No Speed-up or down or reverse
    • Lot’s of video-formats lacking
    • No cont. TimeLine - Bad logic
    • No good for interlaced SD-video from miniDV tape aimed to a DVD release.
(Discarding every second line makes quality as VHS in LP or EP mode = BAD)
    • NO - Playback via Camera/FW - and this prevents 100% safety-backups and the use of an extra TV/Monitor as real-time Quality control (as in iM 1 to HD6)
    • Color tools got much BETTER - nearly usable - even sort of a copy function
    • Direct share to .Mac and YouTube
    • More Cameras supported even AVCHD (need of Intel CPU)
    • Do not run on G4 or older - G5 minimum
    • Need of 1.9 GHz G5-Mac,
(Can run on 1.8GHz G5 iMac if installed on external boot hard disk and speedier Mac - can’t install directly)
    • Mac OS X.4.9 minimum
    • QuickTime 7.2 included
Aimed at - speed editing small video projects to be presented on the Internet - NOT DVDs
    iMovie 09 (v8) 8.0.6 (jan 2009)
    • Far better than iMovie 08 but still far from good.
    • Pic in pic, green screen but rudimentary
    • Image stabilization - fairly good for amateur use
    • Speed-up/down and reverse
    • Bl/W, Old age etc
    • Still - No Continuos TimeLine
    • NO - Possibilities to enhance by use of third-part Plug-ins (all investments lost)
    • NO - Playback via Camera/FW - and this prevents 100% safety-backups and the use of an extra TV/Monitor as real-time Quality control (as in iM 1 to HD6)
Aimed at - speed editing small video projects to be presented on the Internet - NOT DVDs
    iMovie 11 (v9) 9.0.x - 9.0.4 (2011 july)
    • Will be - Intel Only
    • Snow Leopard minimum Mac OS X.6.3
    YES
    • Advanced view including a true TimeLine ? Yes but rudimentary (very basic)
    • True Story-board - where You even can write and prepare space for lacking material that needs to be obtained or re-shoot. YES
    • Better wave-form presentation of audio and audio tools - Rubber-band - Yes
    • Trailer creating tool
    • ”Faces” as in iPhoto - NO - but this finds if there are people in some video-clips
    • Better audio tools. Equalizer and a background audio reducer
    • More Camera support e.g. 24fps
    NO
    • not 64-bit only
    • The Playback to Camera via FW - returns ? NO
    • Full Quality to iDVD - NO - still only half - every second line - Questionable - Some indicates it to be able to loss-less Exports - Has to be proven
    • Plug-in facility ? - NO
    • No free text tool
    • Tool to mask an identity e.g.. band over face or un-sharp area. - NO (could be obtained via Plug-ins in iM HD6 and earlier)
    • Animation tool - To point on interesting object/player - NO animations refer to a totally different
thing connected to Story-board and insert of ”dummy animations” while building a movie

  • Which epson wireless printer will work with airport extreme (can not find out from epson)

three systems in use Win 7, Mac lion and vista.  Former epson printer WF 600 would not link with my new airport extreme router despite multiple attempts through epson.  Does anyone know of a wireless printer that will work?  Thanks.

I had the same problem. It was fixed by running the silly app downloadable from their support page: http://support.lexmark.com/perl/support/support.cgi?ccs=229:1:0:0:0:0
    Here's another way, through CUPS:
    1) http://127.0.0.1:631/
    2) Administration tab
    3) Add Printer
    4) Give Name, Location, and Description (pretty inconsequential)
    5) Select device: Internet Printing Protocol (http)
    6) Device URL: lexnet3://192.168.5.110:1 (the parts in bold must be there, the ip add is probably different)
    7) Make: Lexmark
    8) Model: 3600-4600 series (if this isn't there, you need to get the driver from Lexmark)
    That should do it.
The printer will be in your system preferences.
The port number and the "lexnet3://" is the interesting part. Without them, I don't think you'll be able to get it working.
    Good luck
