Which data we will store in infocube?

hi experts,
i am in little bit  confusion, i think this is basic level question.
can any body tell me where we store analysed data. that means which data we will store in infocube( raw data or analysed data). which data we will use for reporting?
please clear this confusion.
thanks & regards
venkat

Hi Venkata,
I have a basic simple understanding and explainantion. You get some raw data from a system such as R/3 which you apply transfer rules and transformations. Applying this will help us remove any inconsistencies, and standardizing the data we get from R/3. After this process, we have the data ready which can be stored in the Infocube/ DSO. Thus, Infocube contains data that is cleansed and standardized. Now, since you have the data ready, you design queries on the Infocube, which will generate reports according to the requirements. These reports will be used for analysis of all the data presented in the report through appropriate query.
Hello All, Please correct me if i m wrong.

  • In which table it will store in pricing

    hi gurus,
I have a question in prcing procedure determination we create conditon table in v/03 transaction code.  We can find some standard tables also there.  No my question is in which table they will store in abap all those conditon table.  please help me in this regard.
    Thanks & Regards
    points will be rewarded.

    Hi,
Those condition tables are database tables themselves.
For example, if you create a c ondition table 998, then the corresponding database table is A998 where A implies its application for pricing. The table A998 also will have some other fields added to it by default, like variant key, value etc.
Now for this combination of fields, the condition records you create will be updated in the table A998
    Hope this clears ur doubt.
Pls reward if it helps you

2LIS_04_PEMATNR and 2LIS_04_PECOMP. SAP has provided standard cubes for each of these datasources 0PP_C07 and 0PP_C08.
2LIS_04_PEMATNR datasource is for Repetitive Manufacturing Material View,

Hi pradeep normally data is stored in datafiles which are placed on a tablespace. datafiles then consist extents which contain data blocks where data is stored, you can check the appropriate location of your datafiles by using v$datafiles view.

  • Which of the two stores data permanently

    pls could someone tell me
which of the two stores data permanently in a stand alone application
    Collections or use of JDBC

The JDBC is better, you can have persistent Collections e.g. Berkerley DB but using a Database is more flexible and manageable.
BTW: The berkerley DB has higher performance.

  • Will data be updated in the infocube if char. are added after instalation

Will data be updated in the infocube if charecteristics are added after instalation? can any one help me.

    Nag,
do you mean tat the IO is added to te cube after data has been loaded ? ( I am not sure if you can do this )
If it means customizing the delivered version of Business content , you will have to add te IO o the update rules as well , and add the same if required to the Transfer rules and data source to populate date.
BW is not that intelligent enough to realize what IOBJ you have added and how you want it filled without you specifying the same.

  • Liquidity forecast report - On which date will Purchase order be reflected

    Dear Gurus,
My client has payment terms ' payment 30 days after date of GR'
say the Purchase Order is raised on 1/1/2009 and GR done on 20/1/2009 then amount should be due to vendor on 19/2/2009 ( 30 days from GR date)
it is required that when i raise PO the said date should be reflected in liquidity forecast report.
How can i make this possible as at time of raising PO i do not know GR date.
Also let me know on which date the PO would normally be reflected in liquidity forecast report?
    Regards,

    Hi,
I have a problem that none of the PO amount is reflected on cash liquidation, the report only retrieves balances of PO which have been converted to invoice through MIRO.
I found that the configuration is complete, planning group has been assigned to vendor master data. Do you have any idea how planning level in Cash Management connects to Material Management/Vendor?
Or is there something missing that I can't get balance of PO in cash liquidation report?
    Thanks a lot

If i decide to store on database, i will use the BLOB data type but i have a doubt...the BLOB data type occupies the same space on database regardless of file size? there is another data type better?

How can i redirect one connection to point to another on report?

    Marina,
The strategy for displaying LOV via Infoview needs to be different than what you've set up via DeskI.  The main difference is that when using a client/server program like DeskI, the LOV is cached to the client, thus producing a list more quickly, however, over the web, the web client does not cache LOV as readily.  To "solve" this "problem" you need to go back to your universe and trace what is happening.  If the LOV is getting generated through an essential "select distinct" on the fact/dimension table, and that table has over a million rows, then it will take some time to generate the list (and thus will timeout).  A different strategy to take is to maintain a "backend lookup" table that the LOV will point to instead.  The backend lookup table will contain the unique instances of the column getting scanned and thus when the LOV points to the new lookup table the response will be quicker versus the old method.  Care must be taken each time new data is loaded to WH to ensure that any new unique values from the "home" table/column are also placed in the backend lookup table.
    thanks,
    John
