Which DB version can I run forms

Hi, please can you confirm if I can run Oracle Forms and Reports standalone against a DB SE or DB SE1, if so can you kindly provide me with a link yo the relevant documentation to substantiate the answer, I need it documented for a client.
Thank you, kind Regards
Thabo

We only run Oracle Standard Edition Database and can confirm that we have used the following combinations successfully:
Forms/Reports 6 (character Mode) with SE DB 10g (highest linux version available - can't check now not at work)
Forms/Reports 10g (Web with Forms/Reports AS) with SE DB 10g (again highest linux)
Forms/Reports 11g with SE DB 11gR1 (Windows version) - this is only in development not yet production.
Hope this helps. You should even be able to run it against Oracle XE - though not forms 11 as that needs a higher release version number of 10g or 11g.
hope this helps.

    Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
    You can upgrade to Mac OS X Snow Leopard, and then, you should be able to use OS X Lion.
    First, buy Snow Leopard > http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard Then, make a backup of your data, insert the Snow Leopard disc and upgrade to Snow Leopard.
    The disc will install Mac OS X 10.6.3, so open  > Software Update to install 10.6.8, the most recent Snow Leopard version.
    See if your Mac is supported > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4949 If you see that it's compatible, call Apple to buy OS X Lion > http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57 Also, check if your apps are compatible > http://www.roaringapps.com

    Try Amazon but look for the iWork suite of software. It's only sold separately as Pages, Keynote, and Numbers from the App Store.

  • Can't run form from Form Builder 10g - Port configuration problem?

    Hi,
    I have installed the Database (10.2.0.1.0) and the Developer Suite (10.1.2.0.2) on two Linux machines (Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES 4 Basic).
    If I enter the frmservlet-URL manually everything seems to be fine.
    In one case I enter http://127.0.0.1:8890/forms/frmservlet, in the other http://127.0.0.1:8889/forms/frmservlet; in BOTH cases I get eventually a dark square and the status bar says "Applet oracle.forms.engine.Main started".
    HOWEVER, if I create a simple form with Form Builder and click on the Button with the green traffic light ("Run Form"), the form runs only on the machine where frmservlet listens on port 8890.
    On the other machine (frmservlet configured to listen on port 8889) Firefox pops up, the URL "http://127.0.0.1:32979/6dOrpwghCqnp8PhMT7KVT533m3IaArqFbPqPBOztZXWYSsNy" gets called, and nothing else happens. The screen displays the string "ORACLE FORMS." and the status bar says "Waiting for 127.0.0.1...", and it stays like this forever.
    I assume this is a port configuration problem, but I don't have a clue where to start.
    Any suggestions how I should proceed are greatly appreciated.
    Thank you very much in advance!

    Hi Frank,
    Thank you for your reply.
    I doublechecked my configuration.
    In the dialog Edit --> Preferences --> Runtime the Application Server URL is set to "127.0.0.1:8889/forms/frmservlet".
    However, when I attempt to run the form, the URL "http://127.0.0.1:33140/W2dwbV9eXS2fPkuKlxNhCxFWdEihwDviat2uV7ycrSotqwDN" gets called.
    The screen displays the string "ORACLE FORMS." and the status bar says "Waiting for 127.0.0.1...", and that's it.
    I wonder how the port number 33140 got selected. Interestingly, this time it is a different number; last time it was port 32979. In fact, the port number seems to change each time; I tried again and now it is 33189.
    I will now try to set the port number for the frmservlet to 8890.
    I choose Edit --> Preferences --> Runtime and set the application server URL to "127.0.0.1:8890/forms/frmservlet".
    I stop the container, open /home/oracle/OraHome_1/j2ee/DevSuite/config/default-web-site.xml and change the port number to 8890:
    <?xml version="1.0" standalone='yes'?>
    <!DOCTYPE web-site PUBLIC "Oracle Application Server 10g XML Web-site" "http://xmlns.oracle.com/ias/dtds/web-site.dtd">
    <!-- change the host name below to your own host name. Localhost will -->
    <!-- not work with clustering -->
    <!-- also add cluster-island attribute as below
    <web-site host="localhost" port="0" protocol="ajp13"
    display-name="Default Oracle Application Server 10g Java WebSite" cluster-island="1" >
    -->
    <web-site port="8890" protocol="http"
    display-name="Oracle Developer Suite 10g instance of Oracle Containers for J2EE Web Site">
    <!-- Uncomment the following line when using clustering -->
         <!-- <frontend host="your_host_name" port="80" /> -->
         <!-- The default web-app for this site, bound to the root -->
         <default-web-app application="default" name="defaultWebApp" root="/j2ee" />
    <!-- Do not delete this line. -->
    <web-app application="forms" name="formsweb" root="/forms" />
    <!-- -->
    <!-- <web-app application="forms" name="formsweb" root="/forms" /> -->
    <web-app application ="reports" name="web" root="/reports" />
    <web-app application = "reports" name="demo" root="/repdemo" />
         <!-- Access Log, where requests are logged to -->
         <access-log path="../log/default-web-access.log" />
    </web-site>
    I restart the container, start Form Builder, connect to the database, and open my test form.
    When attempting to run the form, the URL "http://127.0.0.1:33437/Pl0n3ky9vmU5z37A7ScBnQhsGwq3jwuzJpgTAKWPMOYIzT8K" gets called (again a new port number, apparently picked radomly within a certain range) and nothing happens: "Waiting for 127.0.0.1...".
    However, when I enter the URL http://127.0.0.1:8890/forms/frmservlet I do (eventually, after confirming that I trust the certificate etc.) get a darc rectangle and the status message "Applet oracle.forms.engine.Main started", which tells me that my setup can't be that far off target.

  • Oracle9i Forms - Can't Run form

    I am trying out the new Oracle9i Forms (Release 2 - part of iDS 9.2.0) on a test machine running on Oracle9i Release 2 (9.2.0) database. I did not install the Oracle9i Application Server since the documentation says that you can run forms for testing purposes without AS. After I compiled a form, It tried running a form but got error "FRM-10142 - HTTP listner not running on port 8888... " The HTTP server is running as part of the Oracle9i Database and listens to port 7778 for HTTP and 4443 for https. Is there a configuration file or parameter that I need to change?
    Thanks,
    T.J.

    Jacob/Robin:
    Thanks for your help....starting the OC4J containers did the trick! I was able to see the form within a web brower using the default port 8888. I am going to stick to this configuration until I upgrade my server since the new Oracle9i Application Server requires a lot of power (not to mention takes alot of resources!).
    Thanks again for your help!
    T.J.

  • Can't run form

    It's been a few months since I last built and ran a form.
    What may have happened to cause the following error when running the form?
    The error comes from the browser -
    "Firefox can't find the server at www.%1.com."
    It used to run fine so I'm at a complete loss here.
    Thanx to one and all.

    FRM-10142: The HTTP Listener is not running on at port 1 .
    Please start the listener or check your runtime preferences.Follow this step.
    Forms Builder , Edit , Preferences , Runtime tab ,Application Server URL
    click 'Reset to Default' button.
    or. insert http://127.0.0.1:<your port>/forms/frmservlet
    and don't forgive 'Selecting a Web Browser to Run Forms'
    Start OC4J instance
    Seems a bad port set. I should be 8889

  • WRT300N Firmware v0.93.9 - which upgrade version can I install?

    I think I can upgrade my firmware, but I don't know which version.
    The firmware version on the web interface says v0.93.9.  But the version on the CD says 1.3.  Neither of those choices are available when I go to the Download page at Linksys.
    Can someone tell me which firmware version I can safely upgrade my router to?
    Thanks.
    KWilder

    Your router is WRT300N V1...
    Download Firmware 3.00 MB...
    Follow these steps to upgrade the firmware on the device : -
    Open an Internet Explorer browser page on a computer hard wired to the router...
    In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1...Leave the Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...
    Click on the 'Administration' tab- Then click on the 'Firmware Upgrade' sub tab- Here click on 'Browse' and browse the .bin firmware file and click on "Upgrade"...
    Wait for few seconds until it shows that "Upgrade is successful"  After the firmware upgrade, click on "Reboot" and you will be returned back to the same page OR it will say "Page cannot be displayed".
    Now reset your router :
    Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...

  • What OS version can I run

    I am a new user, just got an old iMac 333 up and running with OS 10.3. Is there any limitations on which updates I can add without compromising this iMac? I only have the original 6GB but have upgraded to 256 MB. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi engagesoftware,
    welcome to the Macs!
    According to Mactracker, a Rev.D iMac G3 will not run Mac OS X 10.4.x Tiger.
    So it will be maximum Panther 10.3.9 (and the latest Security Update).
    If I were you, I'd try to use 10.3.8 for a while, with the "non-RSS Safari", see if you are happy with it.
    RAM: as much as possible. If you can find a cheap 512 MB solution, go for it!
    Good luck!
