Which dishes are best?

QuestionWhich dishes are best?
AnswerThere is no 'best' dish!
First, it's most important to choose foods with cooking times that match your schedule. Choosing dishes with cooking times that correspond with your schedule will ensure that you are able to serve your dishes before they spoil. When dishes spoil, you lose the Chips that you invested.
You should also check out the amount of servings that each dish produces. If you are keen on maintaining a good rating for you Cafe, you should always keep your serving tables full of food. By choosing dishes that produce the amount of food that corresponds with the rate you play Cafe, your serving tables will always remain full.
To calculate the potential profit of each dish, do the following math:
One dish of Local Vegetarian Omelette produces 150 servings. The dish costs 280 Chips to cook. Customers pay 5 Chips for one serving of this dish.
150 servings*5 Chips = 750 Chips
After all servings of this dish are served to customers, you will have earned 750 Chips.
750-280 = 470 Chips
The net profit of the Local Vegetarian Omelette is 470 Chips.
But remember--in order to earn this profit you must serve the dish before it spoils!

Well, your both formulas are correct (Sarah, chowpuppy), but, it depends on the aim of the game.I f you aim to get higher levels fast, you should maybe consider different approach.Basically, if you could reach 5* rating, then the number of customers you will have will be same whatever you do.This means you should think of the maximum earning you can get from each customer.Chowpuppy formula can be helpful if you have lack of food, but if you do not have such problem, use Sarah's formula.Chowpuppy formula is very helpful in Farm game.If you are aiming to get higher in levels faster, you need to supply the highest paid food, since the number of customers are the same, so why waste a customer with 5 chips when you can get 28 chips out of him?The best food for sure depends on the level your game is, they keep changing, but remain the same after some level, I don't remember which it was.If you are aiming to be the best employer, you need to get the most profit out of food.To make it short, the best food for both aims is "Maryland Crab Cakes": higher paid and highest profit.Black & Tan is the highest paid but not much profit, and very short time to cook, your cooker will not be able to be as fast.I earlier levels, there was another dish that pays around 35 chips, I don't remember the dish name, since I suddenly lost it in my menu. Try to buy as much as you can of it, before you also lose it when you get higher levels.Good Luck all..

  • Which projectors are best to use with Keynote? I have twice had the same problem using the clients' equipment.

Some equipment has worked fine. But on 2 different occasions with 2 different projectors, I have had the same problem with not being able to view the presentor notes and the upcoming slide on the split screen on my computer. When I go to "play" mode then the audience screen and my screen are exactly the same. If I don't click "play" then the audience sees exactly what is on my computer screen (notes and all).
I am thinking of investing in my own equipment and want to be sure that whatever I purchase will eliminate this issue.
I have a Macbook Air with Thunderbolt. I last used a Thunderbolt to VGA cable for the most recent presentation and got through it without being able to see my notes. I need something easy to use that works the way Keynote is designed to work. (I have "Present on Secondary Display" selected under "Preferences")
Any suggestions? I would love to spend less than $500, but want a machine that is hassle-free, so I'm willing to go higher if necessary.
    Thank you.

  • Which effects plugs best for instrument ch strips, which for output?

As I'm reading through the manuals (yes, I actually am...) I regularly see the comment that such and such an effects plug is best for using on ouput or mastering channel strips, or that another is best for instrument channel strips, etc, that some shouldn't really be used in one or another, etc. For instance, some introduce latency that would be ok on a pre-recorded signal, but not in a performance or recording situation. Some Logic plugs are actually excluded from MainStage for this reason, meaning I wouldn't want to used them in Logic in certain circumstances. Others are deemed best for output or mastering channel strips, and not good for instrument channel strips. The info is buried, and it's important enough that it would be nice if it were all distilled in one place.
To help make sure that I (and others, no doubt) aren't accidentally instantiating the wrong plug in the wrong, place, it would be really helpful to see a list of which kind of channel strip each plug-in is designed for, "in general"**, and which ones are best used in output channel strips, which are best used in instrument channel strips, which are find for both, and which shouldn't be used in certain instances, etc.
Anybody know of a chart of list like this? Anybody know or want to share experience or knowledge on it? Thanks in advance.
(** "in general" meaning I acknowledge there are always exceptions, and ways to experiment, but for the purposes of this discussion I'm focusing on getting the big picture, basic overview with respect to best channel strip uses.)
    Thanks,
    Neil

Having used Logic for many years the only one I find I have to be really careful of is AdLimiter due to the delay it introduces... I do try not to use it at all now as I often forget I have it on the master channel when I record another part and because I typically monitor through my mixer and not through Logic, I end up with a recording that is out of time and needs to be shifted.   I tend to use other companies Limiters which seem more musical and less 'delay' prone.
Not really answering your question, but I cant rememver any other plugin in Logic that introduces this sort of delay.

ps. I do belive I also read the manual many years ago - that makes two of us.

  • AVCHD settings. Which are best?

I"m using a Canon Vixia HF200 that records beautiful AVCHD video at 24mbs. And FCP's log and transfer is cool and painless. However, I"m not sure which is the best timeline setting to use with this AVCHD. I've used Apple Intermedia Codec (HQ) but that just chokes my core 2 duo Macbook Pro running 2 gigs of RAM. Even editing AVCH at the lowly 8mbs is giving me some problems. This footage is full 1920 x 1080 so should I set my sequence to DVCPROhd 1080i, Apple Intermediate Codec, Apple Intermedia Codec (HQ)? Should it be set to square pixels or HDTV, etc. etc.? I"d like to know the best setting for my MacBook so I can at least not have to render every red bar after every simple edit. Thanks

There is no Apple Intermediate Codec HQ. Transcode to ProRes LT and edit in a ProRes LT sequence.

  • Which OS, Version, Best Setup on like-new 2008 MBP for non-HD archival DV?

    MacBook Pro 15"
    (Early 2008)
    2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo
    4GB RAM
720GB 7200rpm Hard Drive (original 360GB 5400rpm drive also available)
    OS 10.6.8
(6GB RAM possible but additional $100+ for 4GB module needed now for software upgrades)
I first and last used Final Cut Pro 2-3 in film school on a Titanium PowerBook (500MHz!) during the OS9/X transition.  Next, was an Aluminum PowerBook (1.67Ghz) but because of life changes, I did little editing other than occasionally in iMovie.  Then as an early adopter of iPhone/Pad, I rarely used my AlPB other than for back up, writing, and occasional simple editing.
Now I'm finally entering the early MacIntel age with a pristine "early 2008" MacBook Pro bought for $250 from an elderly original-owner couple who used it only at home for email and iPhoto.  Though at the end of its supported life, it's practically new with a known history of light graphics usage (no video or gaming rendering ever) delivered in the original box with original battery (only 46 cycles!), discs, manual, like-new charger, and no sign of wear.  The original internal wrapper was even saved and put back on the device!  Furthermore, because the wife was a photo enthusiast, the Apple Store swapped out her internal hard drive for a Western Digital 720GB 7200rpm drive and the husband just gave me the original 360GB drive!
I want to do several things with this "new" device.  I've done a lot of research but the world has changed since FCP 3 and the G4 processor and I'm overwhelmed with all the possibilities.  I need guidance and have always appreciated the wisdom and generosity of the gurus here. I thank you all in advance!
iCloud integration: I'd like it since I'm an iPhone/Pad user.  I could upgrade to Mountain Lion but Mavericks, under the best of conditions, is doable on my device and may give me improved CPU and battery performance.  I realize this is best left for the OSX forums.  HOWEVER...
Final Cut Pro: I want to also return to editing in FCP an unfinished documentary using primarily archival film and video converted to non-HD DV.  This may greatly impact how I set up my drives and the decision as to which OS is best.  So, this should probably be my initial decision.
Hard Drive:  First and foremost, I should probably swap the drives and place the 7200rpm drive into an enclosure (Firewire or is that stone-age?) for FCP media, correct?
OS:  With Mavericks, I must use FCPX which is beyond my current non-HD needs and will most likely strain my system resources.  However, the new simplified interface is appealing and I've read some users are running it on "early 2008" MBPs.  If an earlier OS is better suited, then which one?  And also...
FCP Version:  Which is most stable given my model?  And which is best for non-HD needs?  What about FCExpress?  I want to explore more possibilities than what's available in iMovie and would appreciate the simpler interface found in FCE and FCPX, especially since I haven't used any Final Cut since FCP 3 but will gladly embrace what's best.  I want to relearn the program and hope to continue using it for other projects.
Partitioned drive:  Finally, what about partitioning my drive, one for daily life running Mavericks or other OS, the other solely dedicated to an optimized OS/FCP for non-HD editing?  Even at 360 GB it should be doable if I keep it lean and the bulk of storage externally (I ran FCP 3 adequately on a partitioned 40GB drive back in the day).  How much space should I dedicate to an FCP partition?
Finances are tight and I'll need to upgrade Office, other apps (I know there's Rosetta in Snow Leopard but must weigh that with iCloud integration; decsions, decisions!) and probably locate an older copy of FCP on EBay or elsewhere which could be expensive.  I must wait a bit before swapping in a 4GB RAM module and possibly upgrading to an SSD.  Meanwhile, I'd like to experience this like-new MacBook Pro now, both as it was during its heyday and with what's still possible today.  It seems doable and I appreciate any and all suggestions.
Thank you all and have a great day!
    Evalyn
PS: I realize my FCP3 files are probably useless and plan to reimport everything into a new project.  And sorry for the lack of paragraph spacing.  Can't get it formatted right on the iPad!

Just to note that there is much more commonality between FCP3 and FCP7 and/or FCE than with the early version and FCP X. IMO, learning FCP X is worth the effort, but it will require some effort since it is so different than traditional NLE's. You could "get by" with FCE for many types of projects and you should be able to find a copy on eBay or Amazon  for a few hundred dollars. However, you will not be able to open a FCP project of any version with it.  Also, I don;t think I would agree that  its UI is simple; it's essentially the same as FCP.
As for partitioning, some people advise against editing from drives that have been partitioned. I use a partition on one machine and I've not had any problems, so I think it is an option.
As you can see from the replies you've received so far, you have  reasonable choices. Good luck.

  • How can i determine which devices are used at the moment?

    Hi all,
I am designing an interface with LabVIEW for uing agilent devices. My work colleagues will use this interface.  I want to determine which devices are used at the moment and if I determine used device, i will add automatically device names to interface's main vi. So all my work colleagues can see on the program which devices are used by another colleague. This devices are connected with GPIB. İ want to learn is there any function on Instrument I/O palette.
    Thanks,
    Omer
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi Omer,
so those devices are connected to the PC with a GPIB connection. Will your collegues run several DAQ programs at the same time?
GPIB-devices being controlled by PC don't have a "in use"-signal. They wait for commands, execute them and send an answer. When you start to control them using two programs they may respond to both programs, mixing up settings/measurement values and so on.
That being said: In MAX you can see all devices connected to your GPIB port. You could scan the GPIB port using VISA commands in your program. You might even try to access a certain device by it's VISA alias. I really don't know if you will get a "device nopt available" error message when that VISA alias is in use by a different program - but you might do a quick test on your own…

  • Which emails are returned in a POP3 session

    Hi,
I want to implement a POP3 email client to download messages from exchange server (using C#.Net).
After a POP3 connection is made, STAT command tells the count of messages available. Messages can be downloaded in that session using the sequence numbers. I want to know how POP3 service determines which messages are NEW for which client.
Suppose two clients (one mobile and one desktop application) connect to POP3 server. Mobile client downloads some messages. Now when desktop client connects to POP3 server, how will POP3 server determine which messages are new for this session (it should
also return the messages which were downloaded by mobile client).
I looked a lot in documentation, but didn't found anything in this regard. Please help.

    Hello,
To get the number of the Record from the begining of the file, you may use the RECNUM parameter in the External Table definition:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14215/ldr_field_list.htm#sthref1264
    You define a Column:
<column_name> RECNUMThen, in your Query, you may use the ORDER operator to this column.
By that way, you ensure to always respect the Record order in the file.
    Hope this help.
    Best regards,
    Jean-Valentin

  • How to find out which queries are being used ?

We have a number of InfoSet Queries which the users are calling from SQ00. Some of them are very old.
I would like to find out which queries are being used, so we can have the idle queries decommissioned.
How can this be done ?
    Best regards,
    Peter

    Hi,
It's been a while since I've done this but one method is to use ST03N & look for the execution of programs with an AQ* prefix.  The general structure is AQZZ/<query user group><query name>.
You could probably get the same info from the audit log but I've not checked that.

  • How to find out which browsers are installed on OS?

    Hi everyone,
I've been reading through the AIR doc, but it doesn't seem
like an AIR application can read OS information like what browsers
are currently installed. Further, at run time, is there a way to
tell which browsers are currently running?
    Best regards,
    wt

I built a small example as a starting point to detect
    installed applications on a Mac.
Should be easy to change it for XP/Linux.
AFAIK there is no way to get the list of running applications
    from Air.

    res.text = "false";
    for each (var o:Object in file.getDirectoryListing()) {
    var name:String = o.nativePath;
    if (name.search(browserName.text) != -1) {
    res.text = "true";
    res.visible = true;

  • Avast, clamXAV and MacScan - which is the best of these OSX AV scanners?

Avast, clamXAV and MacScan - which is the best of these OSX anti-virus scanners?
Does anyone have experience of all three?

Ermmm. I think you'll not find anyone here that's got experience of one, let alone all three.
My thoughts on anti-virus for the Mac, is that it can be more hassle than it is worth, given the nature of OSX. Don't get me wrong, it's not like I think the OS is invulnerable, but other than the one lone mock video codec trojan that was out a few years ago, there really isn't much of a need for anti-virus.
    Yet.
The best web security right now for general browsing is Firefox with NoScript and AdBlock Plus and have it set to delete the cache and cookies after each session.
Beyond that, the commonest things vexing Mac OS right now, are 'social engineered' trojans or virii, that the user installs themselves.
If you stick to legitimate download sites, (c-net, versiontracker) you will be fine.
    Deb.

1:  Can I use idvd to burn my movies with FCP?
2:  Im need an analog to digital converter, but not sure which one to get.  I have VHS, Hi8, mini DV, etc...     Which converter is best with mac, specifically with FCP?
3: Does FCP work well with an external harddrive?
    Thanks...

    1. Yes
    2. Canopus and DataVideo are popular but some camcorders have a built in A-D converter. Note that Mini-DV works without needing a converter. Just plug in your camera with FireWire.
