Which do I have, 12" or 14" iBook?

Question

This may seem a simple question. But, how can I verify that I have either the 14" or 15" iBook G4? Iv searched everyone in my system, but it never refers to size. I need to buy a new battery, but all web site sell by 12", 14", 15" etc. can't get one unless I know my iBooks size.

Yes, you are correct that there is no obvious indicator in the system profiler. But, that is not so unusual in the computer industry. Even Windows doesn't report the size of your computer. Just your technical specs.
There is a machine "Model" reported in the system profiler. For example, my 12-inch reports itself as:
Machine Name: iBook G4
Machine Model: PowerBook6,7
CPU Type: PowerPC G4 (1.5)
Combined, that information should be translatable to determine your exact model. But, obviously, your average home user would not know the corresponding models to associate those numbers with.
You can also enter your serial number on Apple's support site at:
http://www.apple.com/support/
Go down to the lower-right of the site, and enter your serial number in the box. Then click the button to check your warranty status.
The Apple website will then return your computer's model (including size) and then tell you whether your warranty is still valid.
That page correctly identifies my system as a 12-inch model.
