Which Drivers Needed for SATA setup

I'm having a new Western Digital SE SATA 200GB HDD installed tomorrow(Tuesday).
So far I've located the Nvidia floppy for SATA RAID.
I've noticed that there is a downloadable file of 487KB that does the same thing.
What I need to know is....will the floppy start me off: ie can I use  it to install after I hit the F6 button.
If not I can easilly download the file onto a floppy I have ready.
I appreciate that some of the moderators may be busy, or otherwise occupied but since it is 10.02pm here and almost near kip time , a reply before then would be worth its weight in gold
Thanks

He is right Charlie.  This is some further info.
Here is how to install Windows on a SATA boot drive: (This procedure has been used by many including my self to solve the same problem.)
- Have only the SATA drive you want to be the boot drive in your system.  Disconnect the power to all other HDD's if any.
-  Have only one optical drive. Disconnect the power to the other optical if any.
-  Plug SATA drive into SATA 1  (it may show us as an IDE drive somewhere down the list in BIOS.  That's okl)
-  Enable appropriate SATA options in BIOS.  Set boot order to floppy, cd, SATA drive.  Set boot priority to SATA drive.
-  Partition and format using the utilites CD that came with the SATA drive.  (copy any files you need from this drive to a back up drive)
-  Run Windows setup.  No need to do the F6 thing unless you are planning to do a RAID configuration.
-  Windows should install just fine
-  After you are up and running, plug power back into your other drives if any.
I hope this works for you.

    vicky,
I am unfamiliar with the lv_vfw.llb, and have not used it before. However, I noticed that you stated that you are able to grab in color, just not snap in color. If this is the case, why not just perform a grab and then extract a single buffer from this grabbed data, which would likely be in color? This seems like a possible solution to the issue that you are seeing.
Other than that, I really don't know enough about the lv_vfw.llb to be of much help on this issue. Hopefully another member of this forum will be able to assist you with this software.

My iPod is up to a 4.1 ios, and it won't update to a 5.1 which I need for some of my apps for school. It keeps saying that my internet connection is bad; but, it works just fine. What do I need to do?

If you get a network timeout error, then disabling the computer's security software duirng the download and update usually resovles that error.
If that is not the error what is the wording of the error message.
Note that only a 3G or 4G iPod can go to iOS 5.  A 2G iPod can only go to iOS 4.2.1

  • Satellite P20-221: Drivers needed for Windows 7

    Hi,
i would like to have windows 7 on my P20-221 but i just need few drivers to do that.
In the first time, can i update my Bios ?
In a second time, where i can find some toshiba programs (like touch key) compatible with windows 7
And at last, i just have 4 drivers problems (controler IEEE 1394, modem pci, and 2 unknown peripherics).
Thank you if you could help me.

    Hi
The P20 is an oldie and the Win 7 drivers are not released officially for this notebook.
I didnt find any on the Toshiba European driver page
So I assume you will need to search for such drivers at your own hand.
Tip: try to install Win 7 VAP (value added package) and Flash Card Support Utility which are released for newer notebook series like L500 or newer. Usually such tools are not notebook model related so maybe you could download and install this on this P20.
    Furthermore I recommend checking this:

This helps you to find drivers for some unknown devices.

    Hello.
There are updated versions of the drivers you would need for those boards available on the web, but your LabVIEW version is very old and thus will not be compatible with those driver versions.
Hopefully you have the CDs with your older driver versions on them. Many drivers are available on the web at:
    http://www.ni.com/downloads/
You will need NI-Motion, NI-DAQ, and NI-FGEN for the 5411.

  • Keyboard information needed for Sat Pro 6100

Hi, i have a Satellite Pro 6100 model number PS610E-03SKV-EN
I have damaged my keyboard and need to replace it and i was wondering if anybody knew what is the part number that i need for my laptop to replace my keyboard.
    Thank you

Thank you for the advice about the German Keyboard, I shall know to definitely avoid buying one in the future. I was interested in this item because it was a white keyboard in my part number and i would have liked a white or different colour keyboard. I didn't win the auction anyway so i am not going to be disappointed there.
My keyboard from America has arrived and i am disappointed by it slightly. I do wish that i never bought it now. Even though i got it very cheap the delivery cost me $40 dollars because i had to ship to a friend and then she shipped it out to me. What i am dissappointed by is the fact that this keyboard does not even have sign on it and neither does it have a euro sign either. I am not going to install it myself but i am also going to be on the look out for a UK keyboard now because i am not so happy with this one. I find it very odd that a symbol was not on this keyboard.
I have removed keys number 3 and 4 from my current keyboard and placed them on my new one but this has meant that things are going to be messed up and this means that i will be without a hash key now as well so i do think that a UK keyboard would be better for me.
There were other things different as well. The space bar is longer on this keyboard part that i bought and it only has three keys beside the space bar on my right hand side and it has not got a Alt Gr key but two Alt keys. I am thinking that there may have been something not quite right with the keyboard.
The parts number of this item that i purchased is -PS610U-03SR17 as listed on the auction and underneath the keyboard is part number-
    UE2027P22
I hope that this will be even compatible with my laptop and be able to handle the spec that my laptop has such as the hotkeys etc if i do decide to use it.
The one that i bought does look very similar to this one.

  • 64-bit drivers needed for 7900

I just purchased and installed a MSI NX7900GTX-T2D512E video card.  This is my first experience with MSI.
I put in the installation CD and was told that my operating system isn't supported.  So, not only don't I have drivers but I don't get any of the bundled software either.
My operating system is Microsoft Windows XP Pro 64.
I've searched for drivers but haven't found any yet.  I don't see ANY on the MSI site for 64-bit.  Before I RMA this thing, can someone help me make it work?
    Additional info:
    ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe motherboard
AMD Athlon 64x2 CPU (dual core)
    (2) Kingston PC3200 1GB DIMM
WD-Raptor 10,000RPM 74GB HD connected as JBOD in SATA RAID controller as boot drive
I'm not finished building this thing and need to resolve this to either replace the video card wtih one that is compatible or make this one work so I can move on.
    Thanks in advance!

    Loader,
Just to add to what DOK said, you always want to get the latest nVidia nForce as well as ForceWare Drivers for your Mobo and Vid Card.
    Take Care,
    Richard
    Any pointers?
I have the new BIOS for the motherboard so it will work with the dual-core processor correctly.  I also have the new nVidia drivers.
The directions say to go to the new 665 drivers before updating the BIOS.  I can't figure out how to install those.
So I said the hell with it and tried to update the BIOS.  There is no BIOS update tool on the ASUS CD as it describes in the manual and the FlashBIOS tool that allows you to do it from Windows doesn't seem to be available either (I suspect it's because I'm running the 64-bit version.
    So, I'm stuck.
I'm not a rookie at this, but I's starting to feel like one!

  • Internal hardware drivers needed for HP 2000 Notebook.

Perhaps someone can help me pull a pawn shop "bargain" back from a life of exclusive Linux service.  The previous owner had appearantly attempted to retrograde the notebook from Windows 8 to Windows 7 using a Win7 recovery disc and an image of another computer. So of course the entire system, recovery partition and all, were formatted away and replaced with an unauthorized and broken install of Windows.  I'm OK running Ubuntu on if for now, but I will eventually want to install a fresh copy of Windows and can't find the internal hardware drivers for my HP 2000 Notebook (product number C2M42UA) anywhere on HP support website.  Before wiping away the unauthorized Win7 install I looked at the device manager and remember Realtec HD audio and Intel HD video and have located those drivers elsewhere on the web, but can't be sure what else I'll need.  I do seem to recall that with the bad install the ethernet adapter was without a driver, for example.
Where can I find a list of drivers for which to scavange the web?  Looks to me as if a hard drive failure will leave any newer HP computer in worse shape since they replaced the recovery discs with a recovery partition on the hard drive it's meant to restore.  Something I should keep in mind in future computer shopping.

Windows 7 driver download page for your model:
    http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-2000-2b00-Notebook-PC-series/5296210/model/530508...
Remember, when you buy a new laptop they do not give you recovery disks. That has been true for many years. However, there is a Recovery manager that will let you make those disks and if you do that and store them in a safe place you are always able to recover your system. Windows itself also now has very good backup tools including the ability to make a complete system image of the computer in its current state (not factory condition) so there is no real reason you cannot be fully protected against a hard drive crash.

  • Drivers needed for iPod to work?

A couple of days ago, I received a free iPod Nano (2GB) from a promotional offer with my bank. There was no installation software disk included. From reading on the site, this is normal because everything you "need" is supposed to be in the latest version of iTunes.
When I first plug my iPod into my computer, Windows recoginizes it as an iPod and prompts me to go through the new hardware installation. The installation then fails because no driver software is found/available for the iPod.
I have the latest version of iTunes. ITunes will open and all my music is there and playable. My iPod just will not show. My iPod is fully charged. I have gone through all of the 5 R's multiple times including the 6th R, which is REALLY FRUSTRATED!!!
Basically, I need a software driver so that Windows will recognize my iPod. I have read here that iTunes has them or something? However, iTunes will not recognize my iPod because it's simply just not there. Device Manager in Windows has the yellow exclamation point on the iPod.
I have tried multiple USB ports. I have tried upgrading all of my Windows utilities up to date. I've never really had any problems with anything installing/connecting to my computer until now. I'm really starting to disbelieve all of the iPod hype and am getting extremely frustrated with it because it's not seeming very intuitive or user friendly.
Any help getting Windows to recognize/install the software for the iPod will be extremely appreciated. I'm getting ready to eBay the thing because it's really becoming a headache. Maybe you could help me realize that iPods are where it's at and help me solve this dilema! Thanks!
Don't know if this helps, but my computer specs are:
    Windows XP
    AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2500+ (1.83 GHz)
    1 GB RAM
    80 GB hard drive
    Self-built   Windows XP

Do you have Windows XP with Service Pack 2, or just Windows XP?
I believe SP2 is a requirement, as it contains the needed USB drivers for Windows.

  • Drivers needed for executable

I've got a VI created in LV 8.0 that uses DAQmx
& IMAQ drivers which I would like to convert to an exe & use on
    a destination system.
My understanding is that the minimum set of things I would need to install on the destination is :
    DAQmx & IMAQ drivers
    LV Run Time Engine 8.0
I use some VIs from the IMAQ Vision 7.1.1 software - does this have to be installed as well ?
Are there any options I should watch out for when going thru the executable creation process ?
    Much thanks,
    ak

    Hi,
It sounds like you are on the right track.  You will need to include DAQmx, IMAQ, and the
LabVIEW run-time engine.  If you are
using Vision VI’s you will also need to include the Vision runtime engine.  I is recommended to use Vision 8 if you are
using LabVIEW 8.  If you are using Vision
8 you can download the installer here.
But if you want to use the Vision 7.1.1 runtime then you
will need to call in and talk to one of our sales representatives.
Also if you are using IMAQdx, or IEEE 1394 then you will
have to purchase those for the target computer as well.
If you want to make a stand alone installer, then you need
to include all of those drivers as additional installers.  To have vision as an additional installer
follow the steps included in this KB
Here is how to do it if you are using LabVIEW 7.1.

    Hi:
HP only provides support and drivers for their consumer PC's for the current Windows operating system in effect at the time of production, which is W8 at this time.
Customers wanting support for other windows operating systems need to purchase a business PC.
The good news for you is that we can find W7 x64 drivers from other models with the same hardware that should also work on yours.
I'm thnking all of the W7 x64 drivers from this similar model will also work on yours.

  • Conflicting info on which version needed for G4

First, thanks to all the frequent posters here. I'm very impressed by the knowledge in this forums. I've learned a lot, but still haven't found my solution.
I ordered a processor upgrade for the G4 (Sawtooth). The instructions say to first update the firmware to 4.2.8, if necessary. I'm supposed to check the current version by using Apple System Profiler after booting into OS9. I bought this 'puter used, with 10.2.8 installed, and no OS9 installed. I've never used OS9.
I did get a gray "PowerMac G4 Software Install SSW version 9.0" CD with the purchase. When I tried to boot from that, I get a welcome screen, and when the progress bar gets to about 15%, the process simply stops. (The CD drive has been replaced with a DVD RW, if that might matter.) Now, an Apple article (120068) regarding the firmware upgrade says to use 9.1. But, I just want to boot into 9 to check the current firmware version, not update it (yet). From what I've read here, I thought this machine should be bootable by 9.0. I even ran across an Apple table somewhere here stating the multiple versions of 9 that were permissible for this G4, including 9.0. (I almost suspect that the update has already been done by the previous owner, as he was a savvy user, and did A/V production with it. It's also been working under Tiger flawlessly.)
I also tried dragging a copy of the 9.0 system folder onto my secondary HD, which shows to have the OS9 drivers installed. This was bad news trying to boot this way. A message said it could only boot from the original media (the CD, no?), and it got locked into a loop. Got out by booting with Option pressed, thanks to a tip read here
So, is there another way to check the firmware rev without obtaining 9.1? I visited a site recommended in here for system CDs and found a retail 9.1 offered, but for $160 (yikes!). I really have no need to use 9 in the future, having no software for it, I just need to boot it to check the firmware rev.
    Suggestions? Thanks for your time!!!

    Hi, rotordude -
There is a way to check the firmware version (Boot ROM version) without having to trust the accuracy of the software in OSX or OS 9.
Boot the machine into Open Firmware - restart; immediately press the Command-Option-O-F keys, keep that combo held down. The machine will quickly boot into Open Firmware, which is coded on the logic board, not on any disk.
You will be presented with a text-based screen. On the second line will be this string -
        Apple PowerMac3,1 #.#.#f# Boot ROM
The "PowerMacc3,1" portion will identify it as being a G4 (AGP), aka "Sawtooth", model.
The "#.#.#f# Boot ROM" will have numbers replacing the "#" character - this shows the current firmware version.
For example, on that line in Open Firmware my G4 (AGP) displays
        Apple PowerMac3,1 4.1.8f5 Boot ROM
indicating the firmware version is 4.1.8, which I know to be correct - I have applied the 4.1.8 firmaware update (now no longer available), but not yet the 4.2.8 firmware update (I do not have OSX 10.2 or later on this machine).
To get out of Open firmware, enter exit at the prompt and press Return; or enter boot at the prompt and press Return; or use the force restart button on the front of the Mac (the small raised-face button under the power button, the left-hand one of the two small buttons).
It has been reported by some users that once the firmware on their machine was updated, it would no longer boot to the original OS (non-OSX) version that shipped with the machine. Based upon comments, though, this does not appear to be a universal result of updating firmware.
Take a close look at the "PowerMac G4 Software Install SSW version 9.0" CD that you got with the machine. What is the part number shown in small print on the right-hand side of the label? The diskl that came with my G4 (AGP) shows this info at that location -
        SSW version 9.0.4
        691-2657-A
    - and the CD is titled in large print "PowerMac G4" with a sub-titled "Software Install".
