Which edition of iAS in Oracle Applications 11.5.10.2

Hi there I have a question;
We are running Oracle Applications 11.5.10.2.
We have been asked what edition of Oracle iAS we are running with this i.e. Standard Edition or Enterprise Edition.
I can see the version we are running as follows:
$IAS_ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/bin/httpd -version
Server version: Oracle HTTP Server Powered by Apache/1.3.19 (Unix)
Server built: Dec 14 2006 22:30:22 (iAS 1.0.2.2.2 rollup 5)
But this doesn't give me the edition.
Does anyone know how I could find this out (or know what version is installed with Oracle Applications 11.5.10.2 by default ?).
Cheers,
Dave

  • Retrieve user name inside oracle application

    Hi,
I have a form which i installed in the oracle application. One of the fields needs to retrieve the name of the user which has logged into
    the application via WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE.
:sponsor is my field (i omitted the block because its only one in the form,so it works like this)
    What i tried :
:sponsor := user; this retrieves the logon name into my database (which is linked with the logon on the forms builder 6i) e.g. APPS
:sponsor := GET_APPLICATION_PROPERTY('SSO_USRID'); this retrieves nothing
:sponsor := GET_APPLICATION_PROPERTY('SSO_USRDN'); this retrieves nothing
:sponsor := GET_APPLICATION_PROPERTY(USERNAME); this retrieves nothing
:sponsor := GET_APPLICATION_PROPERTY(CONNECT_STRING); this retrieves my oracle application instance name e.g. TEST
What i need is the actual user that has logged into the oracle application to access the responsibility that holds my form. This happens with
the classic logon of Oracle Applications 11i (no SSO or anything like that).
    Thx guys!
    Iulian

If you are in the eBusiness-suite, there is a package FND_USER where you somehow get the current username from. Ask your question in an eBusiness-suite related forum, maybe here OA Framework

  • Is Oracle Application Server Standard Edition One available for purchase?

Is Oracle Application Server Standard Edition One available for purchase? I don't see it listed in the online Oracle store as available.
More information about this version of OAS can be found at http://www.oracle.com/appserver/feature_seone.html Would like to know
    1) when it will be available
    2) the differences between this version and OAS standard edition.
    Thanks
    Dev

    Yes,
Oracle Linux 5.5 is actually inline with the related version of Red Hat linux as it runs on the same kernel.
So, yes, it is certified on this environment.
Also remember that OBIE Standard Edition is functionally the same ast OBIE Entprise Edition, the core difference are the licensing limitations of the Standard Edition which is based on the # of end-users.
Please award points if this was helpful.

    - then upgrade its portal to 10.1.4:
--> go to metalink/MOS: search for 'oracle portal upgrade master note' and follow the note that matches best
Is it required to install OID and SSO before oracle portal installation?- Yes it is. It will be included in the OAS 10.1.2.0.2 installation

  • Capacity sizing document for Forms on iAS(Oracle Application Server)

    Hi,
I need to know from where I can get Capacity planning document for Forms on Oracle Application Server for Intel/Solaris/Aix arch. Please Advise.
    Regards,
    Noman

    Hi,
we have several developers working with developer suite 10g. Our OAS runs on Linux as yours. All our developers work locally using windows-pc's. We have a samba share we use to move the developed sources to the linux box. On the linux box with have some scirpts to compile the sources and move them to the runtime-directory.
The final integration test in then done using the installed application on the oas.
This works without having any problems for more two years now.
btw: Be aware of the problems you will run into when moving an application from windows to linux:
    -> All filename ar Case-sensitive
-> the writing of module-names in OPEN_FORM, NEW_FORM, CALL_FORM must match exactly the filename (in other words: call_form, open_form and new_form is also case-sensitive
-> Attached librarys are also case-sensitive, even if there are shown in uppercase in the module-navigator.
    hope this helps.

  • Passing parameters to the url which navigates to oracle applications

    Hi All,
My requirement is i need to display a link in the email message, so that user can click it and can navigate to a form in oracle applications.
The link will be like http://shine.apps.com/function_id=670&language=US etc
I am able to display the form which the user wants, but they want the form to be queried with a value. so can anyone help me to how to pass parameters to the above url.
    Thanks in advance
    Srinivas Dodla

I achived the same thorugh workflow. In the workflow define a attribute of type form and then pass the formname, applicaiton name, resp name and any other form parameters to it.
You can mix forms personalization to achive best results.

  • I want to grab the application files which are deployed on the oracle 9i

I want to know the physical path of a java application deployed on server.
I am having the admin console access to the server. But i don't have the login to the physical box. I am pretty much sure this is the only application deployed on this server. I don't have any clue how it is deployed under a [b]war or ear format.
I don't know any thing about the oracle application server. Can any body help me out under which path these j2ee applications will be deployed.
    "/u01/app/oracle/ias_app"
    Thanks
    Tara

    Hello Tara,
Unless the deployment directories have been changed the default location for the application to be deployed is:
    $OH\j2ee\<OC4J_Name>\applications\<app_name>
    $OH\j2ee\<OC4J_Name>\application-deployments\<app_name>
You can have limited access to the applications through the console via the Applications link.
    Hope this helps.

  • Is Oracle Application Express the same of Oracle Database Express Edition (

    Hi,
    perhaps a silly question.
I've tried to download Oracle Application Express. Before of installing it, I've noticed that looking at the About the Create Application Manual it looks like the Application Builder that I already use with the web-based page for Oracle Database 10g XE (Express Edition). But thus is Oracle Application Express the same of using Application Builder of Oracle Database 10g XE? To me it seems so, but I'd like to be sure of that
    Thanks!

oracle database XE 10g include APEX installed, version 2.... i don't remember exactly
Oracle database sinde 11g includes APEX installed too
Yes, APEX have a tab with application builder, there you create applications, but the version is very old, install Oracle DB XE 11g or upgrade APEX

  • Upgrade, migrating oracle application. Which is better way?

We have oracle application 11.5.5 run on Window NT 4 Server.
We want to upgrade Window NT4 to Window 2000 advanced Server or Window 2003 advanced Server.
We also want to upgrade oracle application 11.5.5 to 11.5.9 or 11.5.10.
Since we have a new server, we also want to deploy new production on the new box.
How should we go about to accomplish this task?
Is there any good documentation out there we can use to accomplish this task?
    Thank.

    hi
    On windows
you have to do a upgrade on the server which is having 11.5.4 apply autoconfig enabled patch on it. Ones the autoconfig is enabled then you can start category wise approach and start from cate gory 1 ... in cate gory 2 you have to run rapid install(on new fresh server which is having windows2003) with the option upgrade file system ...thenin thord cate gory you have to upgrade the DB on old server then traanfer the dbf file to the location created by rapid install in category 2 and create the control file and complete the remaining step of category 3 and cateogry 4 ...

  • In Which type of mobile phones i can access Oracle application?

    Hi All,
I was wondering like , in which type of mobile phones (like Windows, Blackberry etc) i can access Oracle application ? Due to some reasons sometimes i can't use/carry my laptop, so in that case i want to open/access Oracle application in my Mobile Phone.
    please advice...
    Thanks
    Skudikyal

    Hi!
Generally it should be possible with nearly every mobile accessing to the database via command line mode.
If you want to access to Apex you need a mobile with a browser or Apple's iPhone with an 'app'.

For me, as a CORE DBA, Oracle Apps doesn't excite me much because I can't play with Oracle Apps database as I do with the CORE database.
