Hi,
Events in alv and their FM    The main events in alv and their FM and why we use these:
1. SLIS_PRINT_ALV.
2. SLIS_T_LISTHEADER.
3. SLIS_T_EVENT.
4. SLIS_T_SORTINFO_ALV.
5. SLIS_T_LAYOUT_ALV.
6. SLIS_T_FIELDCAT_ALV.
and in classic reports what is the sequence of events:   === Events are
At selection-screen output.
Initialization.
At selection-screen on field
At selection-screen on end of field
At selection-screen on Radiobutton Group R1. (If you have any radio buttons)
At selection-screen on block b1. (If you have any blocks)
Start-of-selection.
Get node. (if the data is retreived from a logical database)
Get node late. (if the data is retreived from a logical database)
Top-of-page. (if the write statement is in the end-of-selection event or we can say that before the first write statement)
end-of-selection.
and fuction modules are
LISTHEADER - Is used to print the header information in the ALV List. Name, Date, Time, ALV Name and other details are called as Header information.   EVENT - Basically this is the FM to handle Event's. When the user needs to do some event operation like when double clicking the a particular field we need to perform some operation.   These events are captured by this FM.   LAYOUT - This FM is used to define the layout of the List. There are many options available in this FM to define the Layout style.   FIELDCAT - These are used to populate the List header. We can change them according to our req.

  • Event structure: have one event trigger another event

    I have an event structure with two events. I want the finalization of the first event to trigger the second event. Both events are triggered by a boolean value change, say "boolean 1" and "boolean 2". Can I have a local variable of boolean 2 inside event 1. By changing its value, it should trigger event 2. However, this doesn't seem to be working. (see attached example)
    any help?

    Tim's reply is the answer you are looking for.
    I would like suggest that you create a sub-VI that doesw the work in the second event you want to fire so tht rather than resorting to having one event trigger another, you can simply use the sub-VI that does the work in event_2 after the sub-VI that does the work for event_1.
    If you decide to stick one event triggering another, please clearly document the sceme in BOTH events. What you want to avoid is latter deciding event_1 should be triggered by Event_2 and the next thing you know, your app hangs.

  • Event Trigger for Plan data

    Hi ,
    I have a scenario where my user wants to see the plan numbers instantly in the report after he saves it
    in the Layout. The report is not directly on the planning cube there are 2 levels of staging on top of which is the actual report. He is the only user doing the planning
    Right now we do this as a nightly load and he can see the updates of his plan data the next day.
    Is there any way that we could trigger an event for the process chain once he clicks on the Save button
    on the layout.
    Thanks
    Jay.

    You can try this - Behind the save button, other than save command, also execute a fox function which will call a function module which will trigger an event. Create an event triggered process chain which will load the data from the planning cube upwards.

  • Events in Alv Report

    Hi experts,
    Can anyone brief me about events which appears in an ALV report.
    I want the events only for Alv report not for any report program.
    Thanks
    Sanket sethi.

    Hi Sanket,
    <b>ALV is Application List viewer.</b>
    Sap provides a set of ALV (ABAP LIST VIEWER) function modules which can be put into use to embellish the output of a report. This set of ALV functions is used to enhance the readability and functionality of any report output. Cases arise in sap when the output of a report contains columns extending more than 255 characters in length.
    In such cases, this set of ALV functions can help choose selected columns and arrange the different columns from a report output and also save different variants for report display. This is a very efficient tool for dynamically sorting and arranging the columns from a report output.
    The report output can contain up to 90 columns in the display with the wide array of display options.
    The commonly used ALV functions used for this purpose are;
    <b>1. REUSE_ALV_VARIANT_DEFAULT_GET
    2. REUSE_ALV_VARIANT_F4
    3. REUSE_ALV_VARIANT_EXISTENCE
    4. REUSE_ALV_EVENTS_GET
    5. REUSE_ALV_COMMENTARY_WRITE
    6. REUSE_ALV_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE
    7. REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY
    8. REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY
    9. REUSE_ALV_POPUP_TO_SELECT</b>
    Purpose of the above Functions are differ not all the functions are required in all the ALV Report.
    But either no.7 or No.8 is there in the Program.
    How you call this function in your report?
    After completion of all the data fetching from the database and append this data into an Internal Table. say I_ITAB.
    Then use follwing function module.
    CALL FUNCTION 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY'
           EXPORTING
                I_CALLBACK_PROGRAM       = 'Prog.name'
                I_STRUCTURE_NAME         = 'I_ITAB'
                I_DEFAULT                = 'X'
                I_SAVE                   = 'A'
           TABLES
                T_OUTTAB                 = I_ITAB.
      IF SY-SUBRC <> 0.
        WRITE: 'SY-SUBRC: ', SY-SUBRC .
      ENDIF.
    ENDFORM.                    " GET_FINAL_DATA
    Sample ALV1:
    REPORT Z_ALV_SIMPLE_EXAMPLE_WITH_ITAB .

    Martin Schlegel, BearingPoint, December 2004
    Thanks to Madhusudhan Sonee and Rama Krishna Kommineni for testing
    and feedback
    *For a very long time, people gave me the feeling that ALV is a
    *complicated tool that is difficult to understand and to use.
    *Lately I had to use it and I discovered that ALV is easy to use and
    *saves a lot of work:
    *ALV will generate the column headings on its own, so one does not need
    *to work on headlines and transalation.
    *ALV allows the user to select the columns he wants to see, so the user
    *does not need to contact a developer for every change he likes to have.
    *ALV allows the user to create his own sums, so …
    *ALV has a simple way to work with internal tables.
    *If you really want to save time, use ALV instead of write!
    *Please take 30 minutes to explore the following example and see how
    *easy it is to use ALV!
    *data definition
    tables:
    marav. "Table MARA and table MAKT
    Data to be displayed in ALV
    Using the following syntax, REUSE_ALV_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE can auto-
    matically determine the fieldstructure from this source program
    Data:
    begin of imat occurs 100,
    matnr like marav-matnr, "Material number
    maktx like marav-maktx, "Material short text
    matkl like marav-matkl, "Material group (so you can test to make
                            " intermediate sums)
    ntgew like marav-ntgew, "Net weight, numeric field (so you can test to
                            "make sums)
    gewei like marav-gewei, "weight unit (just to be complete)
    end of imat.
    Other data needed
    field to store report name
    data i_repid like sy-repid.
    field to check table length
    data i_lines like sy-tabix.
    Data for ALV display
    TYPE-POOLS: SLIS.
    data int_fcat type SLIS_T_FIELDCAT_ALV.
    select-options:
    s_matnr for marav-matnr matchcode object MAT1.
    start-of-selection.
    read data into table imat
      select * from marav
      into corresponding fields of table imat
      where
      matnr in s_matnr.
    Check if material was found
      clear i_lines.
      describe table imat lines i_lines.
      if i_lines lt 1.
      Using hardcoded write here for easy upload
        write: /
        'No materials found.'.
        exit.
      endif.
    end-of-selection.
    Now, we start with ALV
    To use ALV, we need a DDIC-structure or a thing called Fieldcatalogue.
    The fieldcatalouge can be generated by FUNCTION
    'REUSE_ALV_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE' from an internal table from any
    report source, including this report.
    The only problem one might have is that the report and table names
    need to be in capital letters. (I had it )
    Store report name
      i_repid = sy-repid.
    Create Fieldcatalogue from internal table
      CALL FUNCTION 'REUSE_ALV_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE'
           EXPORTING
                I_PROGRAM_NAME         = i_repid
                I_INTERNAL_TABNAME     = 'IMAT'  "capital letters!
                I_INCLNAME             = i_repid
           CHANGING
                CT_FIELDCAT            = int_fcat
           EXCEPTIONS
                INCONSISTENT_INTERFACE = 1
                PROGRAM_ERROR          = 2
                OTHERS                 = 3.
    *explanations:
       I_PROGRAM_NAME is the program which calls this function
       I_INTERNAL_TABNAME is the name of the internal table which you want
                          to display in ALV
       I_INCLNAME is the ABAP-source where the internal table is defined
                  (DATA....)
         CT_FIELDCAT contains the Fieldcatalouge that we need later for
         ALV display
      IF SY-SUBRC <> 0.
        write: /
        'Returncode',
        sy-subrc,
        'from FUNCTION REUSE_ALV_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE'.
      ENDIF.
    *This was the fieldcatlogue
    And now, we are ready to display our list
    Call for ALV list display
      CALL FUNCTION 'REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY'
           EXPORTING
               I_CALLBACK_PROGRAM = 'Z_ALV_SIMPLE_EXAMPLE_WITH_ITAB'
                I_CALLBACK_PROGRAM = i_repid
                IT_FIELDCAT        = int_fcat
                I_SAVE             = 'A'
           TABLES
                T_OUTTAB           = imat
           EXCEPTIONS
                PROGRAM_ERROR      = 1
                OTHERS             = 2.
    *explanations:
       I_CALLBACK_PROGRAM is the program which calls this function
       IT_FIELDCAT (just made by REUSE_ALV_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE) contains
                    now the data definition needed for display
       I_SAVE allows the user to save his own layouts
         T_OUTTAB contains the data to be displayed in ALV
      IF SY-SUBRC <> 0.
        write: /

  • Currency wise grand totals IN ALV

    Hi friends,
    I  have problem  in alv report, my requirement is want to display the
    currency wise grand totals in ALV Report.if any having this idea please
    address the solution.
    yours
    ramakrishna.Y

    if i am not wrong then ithink you are talking about subtotal as per currency .
    then you have to use sort fnality..
    you have to write your fieldcat for currency value field
    wfieldcat-do_sum = 'X'.
    data : isort type slis_t_sortinfo_alv,
             wsort type slis_sortinfo_alv.
    wsort-spos = 1.
    wsort-up = 'X'.
    wsort-fieldname = ' YOUR CURRency key field in caps'.
    wsort-group = 'UL'.
    append wsort to isort.
    you have to pass that to reuse alv fm it_sort = isort.

  • *what are the step by step events trigger in interactive report*

    Hi gurus,
    pls explain event by event triggers in interactive report.
    points will be rewarded.
    Thanks,
    Balakrishna.

    Hi,
    Interactive reporting allows the user to participate in retrieving and presenting data at each level during the session.  Instead of presenting one extensive and detailed list with cluttered information, with interactive reporting you can create a condensed basic list from which the user can call detailed information by positioning the cursor and entering commands.
    Detailed information is presented in secondary lists. A secondary list may either overlay the basic list completely or appear in an additional dialog window on the same screen.  The secondary list can itself be interactive again. The basic list is not deleted when secondary list is created.
    User can interact with the system by:
    u2022     Double clicking or pressing F2
    u2022     Selecting menu option
    Like classical report, the interactive report is also event driven. Both the action mentioned above trigger events and code is written to handle these events.  The events triggered by this action are as follows:
    u2022     At line-selection
    u2022     At user-command
    u2022     Top-of-Page During Line-Selection for Secondary Page Header info
    Interactive report consists of one BASIC list and 20 secondary list. Basic list is produced by START-OF-SELECTION event. When the user double clicks on the basic list or chooses the menu option, the secondary list is produced. All the events associated with classical report except end-of-page are applicable only to basic list.
    AT LINE-SELECTION event
    Double clicking is the way most users navigate through programs. Double clicking on basic list or any secondary list triggers the event AT LINE-SELECTION. SY-LSIND denotes the index of the list currently created. For BASIC list it is always 0.  Following piece of code shows how to handle the event.
    Start-of-selection.
    Write: / u2018this is basic listu2019.
    At line-selection.
    Write : u2018this is first secondary listu2019.
    In this case the output will be displayed on basic list i.e.
    This is basic list.
    When user double clicks on this line, the event at line-selection gets triggered and secondary list is produced, i.e. This is first secondary list.
    You can go back to basic list by clicking on F3 or back icon on the standard tool bar.  For this list, the value of sy-lsind will be 1.
    HIDE technique
    In this case thins are much simpler. Consider the case, wherein you display fields from table sflight in basic list. When user double clicks on any sflight-carrid, you are displaying the detailed information related to that particular carrid on secondary list.  Hence there is a need to store the clicked carrid in some variable.  So that you can access this carrid for next list. ABAP/4 has facility; a statement called HIDE, which provides the above functionality.
    HIDE command temporarily stores the content of clicked field in system area.
    Syntax:
    HIDE <FIELDS>.
    This statement stores the contents of variable <f> in relation to the current output line (system field SY-LINNO) internally in the so-called HIDE area. The variable <f> must not necessarily appear on the current line.
    You have to place the HIDE statement always directly after the output statement i.e., WRITE for the variable <f>.  As when you hide the variable, control is passed to next record.  While writing, WRITE statement takes that record from header and writes it on to the list, but when writing onto your interactive list you will miss out 1st record.
    To hide several variables, use chain HIDE statement.
    As soon as the user selects a line for which you stored HIDE fields, the system fills the variables in the program with the values stored.  A line can be selected.
    u2022     By an interactive event.
    For each interactive event, the HIDE fields of the line on which the cursor is positioned during the event are filled with the stored values.
    The HIDE area is a table, in which the system stores the names and values of all HIDE fields for each list and line number.  As soon as they are needed, the system reads the values from the table.  (Please try to find the name of this table.)
    Sy-lsind indicates the index of the list and can be used to handle all the secondary lists.  When the user double clicks on the line or presses F2, sy-lsind is increased by one and this new sy-lsind can be handled.  For example:
    Write: / u2018this is basic listu2019.
    u2022     Will create a basic list.
    If sy-lsind = 1.
    Write: / u2018this is first secondary listu2019.
    Elseif sy-lsind = 2.
    Write: / u2018This is second secondary listu2019.
    Endif.
    When this code is executed,
    u2022     Basic list is produced.
    u2022     When the user clicks on the basic list, sy-lsind becomes one.
    u2022     AT LINE-SELECTION event is triggered.
    u2022     Whatever is written under IF Sy-lsind = 1, gets executed.
    u2022     Secondary list is produced.
    u2022     Again if user clicks on this list, sy-lsind becomes two.
    u2022     AT LINE-SELECTION gets triggered.
    u2022     Code written under IF Sy-lsind = 2, gets executed.
    A sample program for AT LINE-SELECTION.
    AT USER-COMMAND
    When the user selects the menu item or presses any function key, the event that is triggered is AT USER-COMMAND, and can be handled in the program by writing code for the same. The system variable SY-UCOMM stores the function code for the clicked menu item or for the function key and the same can be checked in the program.  Sample code would look like
    AT USER-COMMAND.
    Case sy-ucomm.
    When u2018DISPu2019.
            Select * from sflight.
            Write sflight-carrid, sflight-connid.
            Endselect.
    When u2018EXITu2019.
         LEAVE.
    If GUI status, suppose you have set menu bar for two items and the function code is u2018DISPu2019 and u2018EXITu2019 respectively. If the user clicks the menu item u2018DISPLAYu2019, then function code u2018DISPu2019 is stored in the sy-ucomm and whatever is written under the when u2018DISPu2019, gets executed. This is applicable for EXIT as well.
    Sy-lsind for the screen increases when the user clicks the menu item.
    Usually you have combination of all the three navigations in your user interface, i.e., you have to create menu bar, assign function code for the function keys and write code to handle all this in addition to handling double clicking.
    Things to remember while using all the combinations:
    u2022     Sy-lsind increases even if you select menu-item.
    u2022     When the user double clicks on particular line, value of sy-ucomm is u2018PICK.
    u2022     If you set sy-lsind = 2 for your 4th secondary list, when control is transferred to the 2nd secondary list, all the other lists after 2nd are lost or memory allocated to them is lost.
    u2022     Sy-lisel also gives you the value of clicked line but in this case you cannot differentiate between field. To retrieve the exact field, you have to know the field length of each field.
    u2022     If you use statement SY-LSIND = 1.
    The system reacts to a manipulation of SY-LSIND only at the end of an event, directly before displaying the secondary list. So, if within the processing block, you use statements whose INDEX options access the list with the index SY-LSIND, make sure that you manipulate the SY-LSIND field only after processing these statements. The best way is to have it always at the `as the last statementu2019 of the processing block.

  • Hi guru's how many events is in classical & interactive how it trigered

    hi guru's how many events is in classical & interactive how it trigered plz help me

    HI,
    Classical Reports Edit section
    These are the most simple reports. Programmers learn this one first. It is just an output of data using the Write statement inside a loop.
    Classical reports are normal reports. These reports are not having any sub reports. IT IS HAVING ONLY ONE SCREEN/LIST FOR OUTPUT.
    Events In Classical Reports.
    INTIALIZATION: This event triggers before selection screen display.
    AT-SELECTION-SCREEN: This event triggers after proccesing user input still selection screen is in active mode.
    START OF SELECTION: Start of selection screen triggers after proceesing selection screen.
    END-OF-SELECTION : It is for Logical Database Reporting.
    Interactive ReportsEdit section
    As the name suggests, the user can Interact with the report. We can have a drill down into the report data. For example, Column one of the report displays the material numbers, and the user feels that he needs some more specific data about the vendor for that material, he can HIDE that data under those material numbers. And when the user clicks the material number, another report (actually sub report/secondary list) which displays the vendor details will be displayed.
    We can have a basic list (number starts from 0) and 20 secondary lists (1 to 21). Events associated with Interactive Reports are: 1. AT LINE-SELECTION 2. AT USER-COMMAND 3. AT PF<key> 4. TOP-OF-PAGE DURING LINE-SELECTION. HIDE statement holds the data to be displayed in the secondary list. sy-lisel : contains data of the selected line. sy-lsind : contains the level of report (from 0 to 21)
    Interactive Report Events:
    AT LINE-SELECTION : This Event triggers when we double click a line on the list, when the event is triggered a new sublist is going to be generated. Under this event what ever the statements that are been return will be displayed on newly generated sublist.
    AT PFn: For predefined function keys...
    AT USER-COMMAND : It provides user functions keys.
    <b>Events keywords in Reports are
    For Classical Reports,
    1.Initialization  - triggers when click on execute buton in the report program
    2. At line-selection - it triggers only when you double click on the perticular line on the output
    3. Start-of-selection - it triggers when you click on the execute button on the election screen
    4.Top-of-page - it triggers for every page break like you will define some page size if it comes to the last line the top-of-page will trigger
    5. At user-command - it triggers only on the action based on the user action

  • Automatically trigger the event to load data from Planning cube to Standard Cube

    Hello,
    We have a below set up in our system..
    1. A Planning BEx query using which user makes certain entries and writes back data to the planning cube.
    2. An actual reporting cube which gets data from the planning cube above.
    Now, what we want to do is to automate the data load from Planning cube to Reporting cube.
    This involves 2 things..
    1. Change the setting " Change real time load behaviour " of the planing cube to Planning.
    2. Trigger the DTP which loads data from Planning cube to reporting cube.
    We want to automate the above two steps...
    I have tried few things to achieve the same..
    1. Created an event in SM64,
    2. In the Planning cube "Manage" Screen,  clicked on "Subsequent Processing" and provided the event details. ( Not sure if its the correct place to provide the event detail ).
    3. Wrote a ABAP program which changes the setting of the planning cube (  " Change real time load behaviour " to Loading )
    4. Created a process chain, where we have used the event as a start variant, used the ABAP program as a next step, DTP run as the last step..
    This i hoped, would trigger the event as soon as a new request comes and sits in planning cube, which in turn would trigger the process chain which would load the data from Planning cube to reporting cube..
    This is not working. I dont think the event is triggering, and even if does i am not sure whether it will start the process chain automatically. Any ideas please ?

    hi,
    try to do the transformation directly in the input cube by using CR of type exit, more details :

  • BI Publisher event trigger and email notification

    How can I event-trigger a BI publisher report, i.e., start the BI publisher report after completion of a ETL job?
    In addition, after generation of the BI publisher report, how can I send to destinated email addresses?
    Thanks

    Write custom java code , which uses the BIP web-services and put a trigger on the ETLJOB.

    Re: Run BI Publisher from the command line through a shell script
    BIP has provided a webservice,
    One of the function is to run or schedule a report.
    Write a simple Java program, which will look at the server and point to run the report you wanted.

  • How can I trigger an event from an ABAP Program

    Hi everyone,
    I have a requirement, where I have to create an ABAP program, that has to execute (trigger) an event which belongs to a Process Chain. when I run the program, the Process Chain has to run.
    So, how can I do it?
    Thanks for your help, Federico

    HI ,
    The program can call function module BP_EVENT_RAISE to raise the event. you can create vent in sm64 and sm62 .There you give the parameter of the event same as what you will define in the event of start variant of your process chian ..

  • Is it able to refresh the table view automaticlly after trigger an event?

    Hi expert,
    I have one table view and a "Delete" button, each time when the user click the del button, it will delete the row which is selected via a RFC module in the backend, afterwards, I want this table view to be refreshed and read the real data from backend via another function module, is it possible? how could I do it?
    Thanks and best regards

    Let me do some summarize if my understanding is correct
    1. Use a timer as "start" point of a table view, set the "interval" to be 0.05 minute
    2. use the condition in the timer with a formula (BOOL(STORE@RETURN_CODE==0)).
    3. If I trigger one event in the "table view", for example, a "Delete" event and it will return the result RETURN_CODE = 0 to datastore
    4. Afterwards, if the time interval of the timer has been reached, 1st it will evaluate the value of the datastore and decide whether to refresh the table view.
    Am I right?
    Just as you mentioned before, it is not a perfect solution, as we may still wait for the timer to be triggered after a few seconds.
    Thanks for your answer.

  • Using the keydown option in order to trigger an event

    Hi all,
    This is my first question on this forum, and that is probably because i just started learning labview.
    I came across with an error, i could most likely solve in another programming language using C, but not in labview.
    I was wondering if someone could give me a hand with the following:
    I attached the program, which is probably a bit bad-written. Basicly, what im trying with the part on the left, is read all values from a controller on a GPIB bus.
    This part works like a charm, because i get all the values i want without any problem. After that, in the last step of this program, you have a while loop, with in there an event structure. The reason i took a while for that is because i dont want the program to start over at step 1. The event structure was first used with clicks of the mouse on the buttons, and a changed value with the numeric controls. Because a changed value did not work, cause the loop was constantly reading the values coming from the initial phases, i wanted to change the way the events were handled by a keydown of 'Enter'. I think, when you change a value in a numeric control and press enter, this could be perfectly used to trigger the events, instead of the value changes (because everytime the program reads the values in the sides, i think its considered like a value change). The fact is i dont really have an idea how to use the keydown as an event handler, any info on this would be greatly appreciated.
    I'm sorry if my english isn't the best, it's only my 3th language. Hope you understood and i can get some help for this issue
    Thanks in advance

    The problem is a few
    blocks we havent really seen yet. All these numerics and stuff outside
    the while loop, what are they exactly, or are they just a different way
    of viewing them? The stuff with the digital at INI phase, The block
    in the lower right corner of the INI phase.
    The digital block in the
    dispatcher phase we didn't really understand.
    I am not sure what you mean here can you circle it and send me a picture so that I can explain.
