Which Firefox version fits best with iMac G5 + Mac OSX 10.5.8?
I made a mistake.
I installed Safari 5.0.6 with loss of good functioning of the browser (lay out not any longer the same as with Safari 4) because my iMac G5 (with PPC) runs under Mac OSX 10.5.8. The computer refuses reinstallation of the older version (Safari 4).
The temporary solution in my idea is using Firefox in the adapted version. Could you tell me which one?
Thanks for help.
Firefox 3.6.x is the last available from Mozilla for PPC Macs. <br />

For older Macs that aren't supported in Firefox 4+ versions, try TenFourFox for PowerPC's running Mac 10.4.11 & 10.5.8 . <br />

I own a MacBook Pro, 1st generation, with a MacOS X, 10.4.11.
After updating to Firefox 3.6 I saw that Firefox 4 was available and saw that it was for MacOS X, with no version specified. I assumed it would work on mine. I downloaded and proceeded to install when a message appeared saying that it was not compatible.
Is there a restriction that should be included (does not work on Panther and Tiger?) Or was it a glitch and I should retry (download again/reinstall)?Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5. You can get Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html

Quad G5 2.5ghz 3GB RAM Mac OS X (10.4.2)
Quad G5 2.5ghz 3GB RAM Mac OS X (10.4.2)10.4.5 was rock solid for me, and three days into heavy Logic use at 10.4.6 is proving to be just as good.
Get caught up, and go ahead and update to 10.4.6 -
Which Digidesign interfaces work best with Logic Pro ?
Can anyone tell which of these work best with Logic if any at all?
- Digi-003
- M-Box Pro
- M-box2
- M-Box mini
- M-PoweredThanks for the posts
After hearing complaints about latency, driver
issues, horrible quality,incompatibility with there
plugs in logic as well as no chance to stand against
performances and sound quality of other hardware half
there prices i thought to ask.
Wow. All that??? And then they recommend Migraine-Audio to you??? I don't think those posters know what they are talking about.
I've been using Logic since it could be used with Digidesign hardware, from version 4.8.1, and it has always worked very well.
It does pay to research the setting up of a DAW computer, as it is almost never just "plug-n-play" like many people believe. But once it is set up, it can run for years without problems. Most people experience problems because they change the setup, install free plugins, change audio gear, every other day of the week, and of course, that makes for a very unstable situation. No wonder they complain. But it is their tech-ethic they should be complaining about, not the equipment.
Can anyone verify there set ups and latency?
Here's one extensive test I did on my Digi 002R:
http://nicksevilla.com/logicpro-som/LogicTests.html
The latency is the same as with other comparable FireWire interfaces. Not more, and not less.
i wont drag this out into a long post i just want a
round about, all logic users in other forums seem to
be against Digi hardware, most advised to buy the
cheapest possible M-Audio interface just to run M
Powered Pro Tools if i realy need PT at all.
Really??? All of them???And did they know they are advising you to buy stuff that actually does NOT work properly??? Shame on those posters you read, as Digidesign drivers are a LOT more stable that the Migraine-Audio ones. Digidesign themselves told me to stay away from M-Audio... so you read into that whatever you like. I'll keep that advise from them.

I cannot comment of Airport products, as I have none. Nor would I suppose to argue with Kappy or Ralph.
But in a pinch a LinkSys E2500 will work, as it does for me. -

This sounds like a price match question. Without knowing all the details, it sounds like a yes for the Westinghouse, but I would encourage you to read the price match policy link here:

If all you care about is 1080p definition and an HDMI input at a $300 price point then this tv should suit your needs. (As a bonus it has 120Hz refresh for smoother action scenes.)http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Westinghouse+-+40%26%2334%3B+Class+-+LCD+-+1080p+-+120Hz+-+HDTV/5772998....

Which camera will work best with the MAC? NIKON or Canon
Contemplating on buy a camera and a MAC, but need to know which camera will work best with a MAC, Nikon or Canon? Any info is appreciated
Both will work very well. You might not even need to install the software that comes with them because they'll probably work fine with iPhoto etc. Before you buy a camera, check this list of cameras supported by OS X:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3825
Just about all Nikon and Canon cameras are on that list. If a camera is so new it is not yet on that list, it will be in the next update, probably.
That list is for raw format compatibility. If your camera also shoots JPEG, it will work with a Mac even if it's not on that list. If a camera doesn't work by plugging in a cable, take the card out and put it in an ordinary USB card reader and the Mac will read it.
Nikon has a slight advantage in that it supports a mode that lets the Mac mount a camera like a disk on the desktop. Canons don't mount on the desktop, but it's not really a disadvantage, because Canons still work great with Apple iPhoto, Apple Aperture, Apple Image Capture, and Adobe apps, and all of those are more efficient ways of transferring photos than dragging them out manually. -
Which phones will sync well with iMAC?
I use my cell phone primarily for contacts, calendar so only buy minutes for the year rather than a monthly plan. Which cell phones sync well with iMAC for these purposes? Cost of iPhone seems impractical for me.

What browsers work best with PowerBook G4 Mac OS X 10.4
What browsers work best with PowerBook G4 Mac OS X 10.4?
I still use Firefox 3.6.28 FF 3 is an old version and I get all kinds of warning from Mozilla about it, but I have deactivated those and it still opens web sites perfectly fine. Others have gone to using TenFourFox but I had a group of plugins for Firefox that would not work with TFF.
The main thing you will encounter with browsing these days is a modern Flash plugin no longer supporting G-series Macs. I still use the newest that was available for PPC Macs and have not encountered problems. If you need help I can post about that too but it's a long post. -
Firefox Version 3.6.9 will support Mac OS X 10.8.5, as we are facing network timeout error after some time, we have checked all other settings

Firefox v15 and up cause my computer (MAC OSX 10.8.2) to freeze for about 30 seconds every 15-30 seconds and forces me to turn it off with the power button. It only causes this after I have opened Firefox, my computer runs fine before opening Firefox. I have uninstalled Firefox and cleared my personal settings. I have installed future updates (16 and 17) and have run into the same issue. I cannot pull any information on RAM or CPU usage because when it happens it makes my computer unusable. Unfortunately I need to use FF for work and can't. I have tried the different responses on the forums to reduce the amount of RAM and CPU usage with no change in performance.

I downloaded and installed Airport Express Utility 5.6 to get my old Airport Express to work with the latest Mac OSX 10.7.4, but when I install and run it, it still says my Airport Express is out-of-date and needs the 5.6 utility. What's up?
It is likely that you downloaded AirPort Utility 5.6.1. If you checked the requirements, this only runs on Leopard or Snow Leopard Macs.
You have Lion, so you need AirPort Utility 5.6 for Mac OS X Lion
