Which Firefox version fits best with iMac G5 + Mac OSX 10.5.8?

I made a mistake.
I installed Safari 5.0.6 with loss of good functioning of the browser (lay out not any longer the same as with Safari 4) because my iMac G5 (with PPC) runs under Mac OSX 10.5.8. The computer refuses reinstallation of the older version (Safari 4).
The temporary solution in my idea is using Firefox in the adapted version. Could you tell me which one?

It is about a pc stayed off-line since 2009 and now reconnected to the net.
Also, how must I upgrade, uninstall and re-install I suppose?

there is no special instruction.you can remove like normal way from control panel-add or remove program or you can install on top of current version...just download the installer and simply run and then follow the instruction

Bookmarks - Hate the firefox version. Double click on the site to bookmark and the book it too small. And when in the bookmark window on the right side of the screen there is no way to know which folder you are actually in. Help.

I have an second issue as well: When I hook off all-day it comes up with an 8 hour event!
And then if I put in a late start hour it pushes end time to next day due to the 8 hour event suggestion.
All in all this gives a lot of changes just to enter an event.

A favorite web-site that I used extensively with a previous Firefox version will no longer connect using Firefox 4.0.1 which I upgraded to this morning. The message says "Connection Not Encrypted". How can I access this important site?

The first message after Firefox fails to connect says "This website does not supply ownership information." Then is says "Connection Not Encrypted."
Yet my previous Firefox version connected readily to this same site.

I can not delete my history and adding new bookmarks. Upgrading to later Firefox versions and/or re-installing didn't help. The address bar still shows the web addresses of old and whenever I make new bookmarks, it's always gone as if it was never made.

Also, I have noticed that every once in awhile you can not close tabs you've opened, either by pushing on the X button and/or clicking on the mouse to close it. Although closing the window and opening it again (without closing the Firefox application) seemed to rectify the problem in the short term, it's becoming quite annoying.

First, download the add-on SQManager. This should be included with FireFox, it is really good.
Look for the file '''moz_hosts''' in the folder '''places.sqlite'''.
Don't delete the file, just delete the information in the file. My file has over 3600 websites, which go back years!! I did not know they were there, but I was frustrated about not being able to get rid of them. They popped up every time I used the address bar. Clearing my history would not get rid of them.
This is where they are stored!! I found that by deleting the pesky web site from '''moz_hosts''', it does not appear in my address bar anymore!!!
I think that if I just delete all the websites in moz_hosts....

As long as you don't delete the file, just empty it, FireFox won't know the difference. It will just keep adding websites to it until you empty it again.
Why running "clear recent history" doesn't do this, I don't know. You are doing manually what "clear recent history" is not doing.
Please tell me if you see any flaw in this.

To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website. 
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.

After their recent upgrade Facebook no longer works for Firefox version 2.0.0.20, what is the most recent version of Firefox that will function with a Mac G3 running OS 10.3.9?

Facebook (FB) recently restructured their website. After logging on to my FB homepage, some of the graphics are garbled and I am no longer able to post status updates, comment on friend's status updates or pictures, or post pictures using Firefox version 2.0.0.20. I would like to know if there is a newer version of Firefox that will function with a Mac G3 Blue and White desktop running OS 10.3.9 which will be compatible with the new FB? I would upgrade my computer, but have 22+ years of business and tax records that will not function with the newer Mac OS.

Currently running Firefox 3.5.13 on laptop using Windows XP pro sp3 and will want to move my bookmarks to a new laptop. New laptop uses Win 7 pro 64-bit OS. I have read too many conflicting reports about Firefox and Win 7 and understand that Firefox is working on a true 64-bit version. What are my choices for a stable web browser for new laptop and which particular version of Firefox is recommended and the pros and cons of that suggestion? (I believe one can run Firefox 32 bit version in the 64 bit environment, but is that the best choice?) I have not installed Firefox on new laptop yet and am eager to dump IE. If you go to this link you will be assured by Microsoft and Win7 "new" app checking and making sure that all drivers and software you have is compatible with Win7 64 bit. And in this article it states that Firefox version 3 IS compatible and designed for 64 bit OS, hm mm well as you know that is incorrect!! We are using SAP SRM to punch out external catalogs. Firefox version 3.5 and below works fine and the items from the catalogs are brought back to SRM .But when we use version 3.6.12 the items are not getting transferred back to SRM from the Catalogs.

SRM is a procurement system from SAP which we use to purchase goods and service. We have external catalogs like officemax, cdw etc which we punchout the items and bring it to SRM for ordering.
When we use firefox version 3.5 and below the items which we add from the Catalogs are correctly brought back to SRM for us to order. But when we use versions 3.6.12 the items are not brought back to SRM.
Internet Explorer 7 and 8 works fine. Is there anyway you can help us.

Firstly I would suggest you to upgrade your database from Oracle Release 11.2.0.1.0 to Oracle Release 11.2.0.2 . This is the recommended Oracle 11g database version for SAP solutions. Many of your problem will get resolved with it.
Question 1:
So my first question would be is there any other suggestions besides adjusting the mentioned parameter above in order to ensure that no work processors going into hang state due to RFCs' occupying it as this issue always happens at the end of the month only when there are massive users accessing it.
For immediate resolution the approach you have followed is correct viz limiting number of dialog processes for RFC. Secondly you need to analyze why RFC processing takes so much time. You need check which programs are getting executed by those RFC.
Generate EarlyWatch report for more detailed view

My second question is what went wrong with the libttsh11.so file. How could it be 0 size in PRD when no signs of changes had happen to the PRD system. Is this a proven Oracle Bug or something else since I have never encountered anything like this before.
The libttsh11.so library cannot be found in the related directory.
Cause
The file system is mounted using CIO option, but per Note 257338.1 Direct I/O (DIO) and Concurrent I/O (CIO) on AIX 5L, an ORACLE_HOME on a filesystem mounted with "cio" option is not supported.
Such a configuration will cause, installation, relinking and other unexpected problems.
Solution
Disable the CIO option on the filesystem.

Hi, I had Firefox version 19.0, and it occurred an error which caused Firefox to crash. I followed the troubleshot steps, and started it up on Safe mode, and I got a message saying "The connection has timed out".
I browsed the forums for a while for solutions, and I started by disabling my add-on apps. This did not solve the problem. I've read here that it could be malware that is causing this problem, but neither malware bytes, Microsoft security, or Norton found the cause, any virus, spyware, or malware. After this I read about certain .dll files that could be causing all sorts of issues, but after searching manually for these files, they did not appear in my computer, such as datamgr.dll, like this it was suggested in a thread a few days ago.
I went ahead and re-installed firefox, same error occurred. Then I opted for trying the 20.0 beta. It did not help either

hello, this crash is related to your graphics hardware & a recent windows update. please start firefox in safemode (by pressing the shift-key while it is launching) & go to ''firefox > options > advanced > general'' & disable hardware acceleration.

Can I install a Bookmarks editor like the one in Firefox version 2 on Firefox 3.6?

Ever since I have installed Firefox 3.6, I have hated the Bookmarks Organizer/Editor. The old Firefox Version 2 one was really great, and had a toolbar with buttons/icons for "Move" "Delete" "New Folder" and so on, but the new organizer that comes with FF 3.6 sucks. It has no buttons or icons at all (just a text menu), and it takes forever to organize mt bookmarks now when I need to do it.
Is there any way to install the older type of organizer into my new browser? I would have thought that Mozilla would have tried to improve this feature in the new version, not take a massive step backwards!!!

The only versions you update to are 3.6.28 (which will be dropped from support in a few weeks) or Firefox 11. I'd recommend either 11, or at least start planning for it. Is there a specific reason you don't want to upgrade to 11, I can try to help.
