Which folder contains songs?

I would like to move the music from my external HD (itunes), to an existing itunes on a laptop. Is this possible? I looked for a folder that contains the music, but I can't find it. Thanks for any help.

What do you mean by "open the iTunes program files"? I don't understand where you're looking. As I said before, unless you changed the default settings, iTunes stores music in the iTunes Music folder in the iTunes folder in your My Documents folder. If you're looking in the Program Files folder in Windows, you're in completely the wrong place.

  • Which folder contains XFI drivers? SBXF? XFHX?

Hi what folder contains the Xfi drivers (non-OEM ones) so that I can just upgrade the driver without replacing all of Daniel_K's [email protected]

    \XFTI_W7DRVBETA_US_2_7_0007\Drivers\wdm
I manually unzipped this driver with WINRAR to my desktop. This driver has worked best for me and x-fi Titanium. I simply browse to this folder with the update driver tab of the sound card in device manager. I install Daniel's 2.0 pack first and then this driver second.
I just now checked the other two inf files in Daniel's packs, and they have the device ID of the auzentech prelude/forte etc. So when his package installs it goes by driver ID for the driver it picks to autoinstall with his pack based on which card you have in your machine. I install his pack, reboot, deal with whatever driver I have, until I manually browse to my newly unzipped driver that I "overlay" on top of Dan K.'s.

I try to point iTunes to the .msi file on my c drive but then it gives me  a message says "the file location is not a valid installation packaage for the product iTuness.  Try to find the installation package 'itunes.msi' in a folder from which you can install iTunes".  Any help, insight, guidance would be greatly appreciated!!

"The feature you are trying to use in on a network resource that is unavailable. Enter alternate path to a folder containing the installation package itunes64.msi".
Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Which folder do I use to backup Thunderbird in Windows 8.1

Our previous notebook(which failed)was running Windows 7 and we would copy the 'profiles'folder
Our new notebook runs under Windows 8.1
Which folder do we copy (cannot find 'profiles')

Help menu (alt+H) > troubleshooting information
Press the show folder button under profiles.
Windows explorer is not in your profile folder.
As the location contains a random string it is impossible to say exactly where a profile is, But this method asked Thunderbird to tell you.
Needless to say it will default to a location below the Thunderbird folder is appdata. Appdata is a special application data folder provided by windows and hidden by default. The is a setting in windows to show hidden files and folders.

  • Which CD contains the EP Installation for SAP R/3 470-620 ?

    Hi,
I want to know which CD contains the EP installation for SAP R/3 47- 620, windows ,MS SQL server ?
I have gone through SAP documentation for EP 6.0 installation.
    According to it, says that
<i>1. To navigate to the J2EE Engine folder, on NetWeaver DVD, choose SAPINST > NT > I386.
         Double-click sapinst.exe.
    2. Navigate to SAP NetWeaver ’04 Java System (J2EE only) > MS SQL Server > Central System > Custom Installation – Java System      and choose Next.</i>
But I am unable to find the directory J2EE on my CD ?
Further my CD does have SAPINST.EXE, after excuting it the installation does not show option for <i>Central System > Custom Installation – Java System </i> only matching option available is  <b>Central Instance</b> .
If you have any experience , please share .
    Regards
    Gurpreet Singh Sidhu

    Hello Gurpreet,
For JAVA installationyou need to use Netweaver DVDs and not 4.7 CDs.  You need to install JAVA through Master Installation DVD ( in which you will find SAPINST.exe) and also make use of the JAVA DVD. Further for EP installation you will have to again make use of Master Installation DVD as well as JAVA DVD since the JAVA DVD has Netweaver Components also in it. Check you collection. You must have these DVDs in order to install EP 6.0. I hope you already have required JDK version on your installation machine.
    Regards.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it, which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • I have smart playlists combined in a folder that I use to make playlists to fit on devices. Lately the folder isn't updating with the playlists inside it, so the folder shows songs that aren't in any of its playlists. Can anyone help?

I'm using the latest iTunes on Windows 8. Since upgrading to iTunes 12 my old system of smart playlists within folders have not worked properly. I used to have a folder containing three folders with smart playlists in them, but I had to abandon this and copy all the smart playlists into one folder, as the nested structure didn't seem to update anymore. This worked for a couple of months (even though it was less convenient and didn't exactly accomplish what I had been able to do on iTunes 11 and earlier).
More recently, however, I've found that the folder in the simplified structure also doesn't work properly. The smart playlists are set up to remove songs after they were played, but now the folder seems to retain some songs even after they've disappeared from the playlist that included them. It seems to be building up 'ghosts' of songs that were played and were then supposed to disappear as per the smart playlist setup. I tried copying all the playlists out of the folder, but ended up with the folder 'properties' showing that it contained a number of songs, even when it was empty.
I also noticed that I'm unable to reference the folder in the conditions of any new playlists I set up - I get the error message that the folder relies on smart playlists that cannot be updated. In response to this I reviewed all the playlists, but saw no errors.
    Anybody else have this problem?

It may be best to recreate the folder and the smart playlists from scratch.

I locate the file in "Program Files\iTunes" and change the path.  I then get this:

    What folder will work ???

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp. Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

    Hi,
You can download a zip file like any files with the Webclient class, look at the details and examples in the msdn documentation for downloading content on demand it even talks about how to download and get a specific file from a zip archive.

  • How to Resolve this - Enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package

ong time back i develop a windows service with c# 4.0 and also create a setup file with VS2010 for that apps. i install that apps and it was running. someone remove that windows service not properly like removing some entry from registry regarding that
apps and as a result that apps name is not showing in ADD/Remove list and removed all files and folder from program files folder related to that win service.
so when i try to run the setup file for that win service to install in my pc then i am getting the error message
Enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package so guide me how could i again install that win service in my pc from that setup. thanks

    Hi Mou_kolkata,
    >> my situation is some one remove a application related info from registry. so when i am trying to install that apps again then i am getting this error
Do you mean that you could not uninstall the apps from control panel after you remove some registry and when you reinstall the apps, you got error? If so, first of all, I will recommend you compare the registry in your pc with another pc which could reinstall
correctly, and then create the registry which has been removed. If it did not work, you could refer the link below for showing your program in Add/Remove list.
Application icon doesn't show in control panel add/remove programs
If removing from the control panel did not work, you could refer the link below for clear ClickOnce application cache.

    Hope it will help.

  • Automatically create playlist name from name of folder containing mp3s?

Hi, if I have a lot of folders with mp3s organized and distributed among them in a way I would like reproduced in iTunes, is it possible to create a playlist which is named after the name of the folder containing the mp3s I would like on the playlist?
For example, say I downloaded a folder named "XYZ" containing a variety of mp3s. Can I then create a new playlist in iTunes and then drag the folder in some manner to iTunes so that the name of the new playlist switches from "untitled" to "XYZ"?
    Thanks

Just drag the folder to the word Playlists in iTunes.
It will create a new playlist named same as the folder and add the files to iTunes and the playlist.

  • "Incomplete Folder" contains Library folder

Hi everyone, hope you can give me a hand with this long standing error with my MacBook Pro?
My Mac (MBP 2GHz Intel Core Duo, 2GB RAM, 100GB HD (partition 60GB OSX 30GB Windows)) has been cleaned up a few times and I no longer store music, photo, video or docs (some) on my startup disk.
I can probably understand about 15GB being taken up but I cannot work out where the other 30GB+ have gone. I am using Disk Inventory X but it is very muddled and all over the place not giving me a clear indication. I have deleted Garageband and all loops but still loads taken up.
In my Home Folder (user) I have an Incomplete folder which I have never paid too much attention to. I'm currently trying to clear some space so I can install CS4 and leave CS3 just incase I have any errors. But in this 'Incomplete' folder I have a Library folder!!! I am pretty sure it cannot be doing anything and I still have a HD and User Library folder.
    So my questions are.......
If this Incomplete folder contains a Library (1.5GB) is that Library doing anything or can I delete it?
What methods are out there for me to troubleshoot where the space is being taken up?
On a standard machine how much space should system/library files take up?
What is safe to delete and won't leave my mac useless?
I look forward to any responses thank you.

p.s. Background info: couple of years ago my mac went crazy and I think it might of had something to do with a friend accidentally moving my library into that incomplete folder when playing with my Wacom. But I do not know this for certain and live in fear of deleting any library folder.

Hi Allan, thanks for speedy response!
I have used Limewire in the past, but not so much anymore (other means and waste of time in my opinion) so will probably delete it. I noticed as well that most Google hits link back to Limewire but wanted to check that it is an application directory and nothing to do with OSX?!?
I will try your solution and I think I have worked out the reason. Like I said at the end of the post my friend may have accidently moved the library into this Limewire incomplete folder which screwed up my permissions so I reinstalled MacOSX and recovered the data on the Hard Drive. So have a functioning mac with all the right data and a spare Library folder!
Now just need to work out where the rest of my space is being taken up??
    Thanks for the reply!
