Which hard drives can I put in my 120gb ipod classic? 30gb, 60gb, 80gb or only a 120gb?

which hard drives can I put in my 120gb ipod classic? 30gb, 60gb, 80gb or only a 120gb?

Physically, the small capacity hardisk (60,80) are thicker at 8mm,
while the 120gb is thinner at 5mm,
there are some thin hardrive 30 GB (MK3006GAL), 60GB (MK6015GAL) and 80GB (MK8022GAA).
The firmware 2.0 should be able to handle upto 160GB.hardrive.
However the difficulty, is opening the iPod case, and getting the thin hardrive or else your iPod case wont close, better stick to 120GB.

how large of a hard drive can i put in my Macbook Pro (early 2011) and where can i get one?

You can find answers to both at OWC as well as installation tutorials. I think you will find 1 to 1.5 TBs are the largest.

Can I put one or two more hard drives into a Pavilion p2 1122? Is there a particular spec or physical size that this must be?

Your HP Pavilion p2-1122 Desktop Computer only has space for one hard drive in it... the one installed at the factory. The only way to add any more drive internally, is to remove the CD/DVD and use that space, or to fabricate and install a drive cage... room permitting.

  • How much hard drive can i put in?

I just recently purchased a Mac Pro from early 2006. It has the 2 X 2.0GHz Dual Core (4 core) Xenon 5130 processors  with 2 GB of Ram. It came with 250 GB of hard drive space which I am looking to expand. However, I would like to know what the maximum capacity the processors and/or Ram can handle so that way I don't destroy the computer. So, does anyone know?

RAM. You do want more no matter what. Amazon: 2x2GB $36 and I would get at least two for 8GB (and pull the 2GB you have)
    Disks: $110 will buy you:
1TB WD Black / 128GB SSD / WD 10K VelociRaptor 250GB all good solid and improvement
And do not put all your files on the one drive. Use the four disk bays: system, data, backup at least.
$300 with work and tutorials on MacRumors and Youtube a pair of 5355 2.66's 8-core
Same system I have and still going better than before.
And ATI 5770 or something but you will not be able to boot from any DVD or pre-10.6.5 system.

  • How big a hard drive can I put in my mac

    Hello everyone,
Inspired from succefully putting a new DVD-RAM burner in my iMac G4 800Mhz (thanks to this forum for helping me get the jumper switch setting right) I have now ordered a 250GB hard drive with the plan to open up my blob again and exchange the hard drive.
However, I have heard that the computer might not recognise a HD this big and that 128GB might be the maximum. Can anyone confirm/deny/agree anything on this? I am running on 10.3.9.
Also (while I'm here asking questions) can you tell me something else. If I put in the new hard drive, boot up with my OS 10.3.9 discs and instal the OS will that all then work and be fine? I have a new external case for the old HD so after the instal I plan to transfer my photos and music across to the new HD.
    Thanks everyone.

I have a machine like yours 800mhz G4 iMac and I installed a Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm 250gb disk - much noiser than the Maxtor I took out but Seagate is one of the most reliable right now. I think you can put in any ATA100 disk, remember to set the jumpers on the new drive exactly the same as the one you're taking out (mine was master with DVD as slave but sometimes its the other way round).
I also installed a Pioneer DVR110 (now with firmware version 1.37 Region Free), and a 512mb stick of ram internally & 512mb sodimm on the base whilst I was at it.
My machine is just over 3 years old and i noticed that the heat conductive grease on the CPU had dried out so I removed the heatsink and carefully scraped of the dried stuff and reapplied a thin film of new silver based grease.
Don't forget to re-grease the other parts of the imac chasis to allow dissipation of heat.

  • What hard drive can I put into my powerbook G4 titanium

The hard drive just won't boot up no matter what I do.  Even from the repair disk.  What can I put into this thing.  I don't want to buy the wrong thing.

PATA drive, up to 320 Gig.  Look at this OWC link for some candidates.  You can filter on your exact machine to narrow down the selections..

  • How Big a Hard Drive can I put in my macbook?

I'm looking to upgrade my internal hard drive, is there a limit on the size I can upgrade to? I have a 150G drive, and I'm running out of space. I'm thinking about going for the gold, and getting a 1T...  any recommendations?
    Thanks!

Unless it is a Unibody Macbook, you must deal with the 9.5mm height restriction. Try to get a hard drive with a 3 year warranty if you can. Also if the machine is pre-2009, make sure the drive is compatible with SATA-I at 1.5 Gbps data transfer.  If it is 2009, there might be a firmware to install before it can use a faster drive. 2010 and later usually need no firmware update.

  • What hard drive can I put in a touchsmart iq800? This is the 3rd time it's crashed.

I have a touchsmart iq800 with windows 7, 64 bit. This is the 3rd time I've had a hard drive failure in 2 1/2 years.  I am not too familiar with computer lingo and need to know what type of hard drive to get. I called hp and they wouldn't tell me anything because I'm out of warranty. I know I have a seagate. At this point, I want something entirely different. If someone could just tell me what name, #, etc of a hard drive, I can order one. I've installed 2 already and am getting good at it. Not sure if that's good or not! thanks in advance.

The iq800 appears to be a series number and not a model or product number. Please provide the full HP model name and/or product number of the computer in question for accurate assistance.

  • If I have an macbook air LCD screen and the the bottom with the keyboard and the hard drive, can I put them together to make the laptop?

I want a mac book air. Preferable a maxium of 1 year old, but I don't have the money to buy a new or referbished one. Please help.

To free up hard drive space the best bet is to move data files that you don't need access to all the time. Likely candidates are music, video, and photos. Things like word processing and spreadsheet files can also be moved but they tend not to be very large and so don't free up much space. The problem with moving the above mentioned files is that iTunes and iPhoto need to know where the files are stored.
Here's an article explaining how to move the iTunes folder. You can move the iPhoto library using the Finder but there is a slight complication. Start iPhoto, open the Preferences and click on the Advanced tab. The first option is "Copy items to the iPhoto Library". If this option is checked, copy the iPhoto library to your external folder (drag it from the Pictures folder to your external drive) and then delete it from your Picture folder. If this option is not checked, it is a bit more complicated and we'll need to talk a bit.

  • What size Hard Drive can I put in my iBook?

    Hello all,
I have a 12 inch 800 MHz iBook. The 30GB internal drive failed on me a couple days ago. Good thing for external drives:). Anywho, I'm just wondering what the biggest size drive I can get for a replacement?
Thanks for any and all help,
    Dan

I just upgraded my iBook today with a Samsung 120gb(111gb formatted), 5400rpm Hard Drive. So far it runs smoothly and zips a little faster than the factory 40gb. It took me time and patience but it can be done, I also bought a Panasonic DVD burner, with patchburn(free software online) it works great too.

  • Can you put documents onto an ipod classic ?

At present I create documents in Pages and print them on index cards for studying. Is there a way to create a document that can be downloaded onto an Ipod classic to be read on the screen?
    <Post Relocated by Moderator>

Export the documents to plain text and then follow the instructions in this article. Only 4000 characters of a note and 1000 notes total will be displayed on the iPod.

  • How big of a Hard Drive can I put in?

I was wondering how big of a HDD I can put in my iMac Early 2006 4,1?

    Logic Pro,
You don't say specifically which 24" iMac you have Aluminum or White. Here are instructions for the Aluminum:
    http://www.amfiteatar.org/content/view/155/78/lang,en/
If your iMac is still under warranty please remember doing this will probably void any warranty you have left.

  • Equium M70-337- which hard drive can I fit in this laptop?

Hi, will it just be a 2.5 inch sata? Thanks for any help

    Hi homervanderjazz_1,
I agree with PauPau. Your notebook supports 2.5 SATA drives. So you can install every 2.5 HDD with SATA interface.
500GB or higher capacity should be no problem because its SATA :)
