Which HDD is good to get as an upgrade for a MBP that already has SSD?

I have a 2009 Macbook pro. I recently added a 256 Samsung 830 SSD and am delighted at the increase in speed and effectual results. I've installed my OS on the SSD, and have left my music, movies, and photos on the HDD.
I would now like to increase my HDD capacity to a 500 or 750 GB. Since I already have the SSD, I'm not too keen on the hybrid Seagate Momentus XT.
I've been researching over the past couple of weeks and find several old threads here where the Seagate Momentus 750GB 7200RPM 2.5" is held in high esteem. But then I also find posts from other users who insist otherwise and recommend a WD drive.
Any thoughts?

I hate Western Digital - over my lifetime, I've had nothing but trouble with them.
A few people have had problems with the Seagate Momentus 750GB 7200rpm, but not enough to scare me away from them. I use two of them, in USB enclosures, for cloning my internal drive. Never had a problem - will likely be uprgading the enclosures soon to FW800.
I suggest going for it - we'll wait to see if any Seagate disaster stories surface...

This comes up a lot these days.
Practically speaking, there are really four options for the Mac platform: Toast (<$100), Adobe Premier Productiom ($1,600 to buy or $50/month to rent), find a copy of Final Cut Studio from 3rd party (+/- $1,000 new) or a boxed edition of iLife to get iDVD ($50 - $90 on Amazon new).
The other question everyone has is how many OS versions before iDVD or FCS breaks? No one knows, but Apple has said they're no longer supporting these legacy apps. Of course, no one is mandated to upgrade to a new OS unless they buy a new computer. So if it works on a system, stay with it as long as it makes sense.

Can i get a replacement/upgrade for my powerbook?

my powerbook has gone in for repeat repairs lately, none of which fix the problem.
what are apple's procedures for deciding that the powerbook is just NOT going to be fixed. in other words, when will they just give me a new one?
mac geniuses have replaced hard drive twice, and logic board, and reinstalled OS multiple times, and it still hangs as soon as i get it home.
i'm about to go back to the store, and i want to know what kind of case i have for asking for a new machine. how many times are they going to try to make the same repairs? my warranty runs out in one month, and i need this problem solved before that time comes.

Welcome to Apple Discussions, nay nay.
My understanding is that after three major hardware failures within 12 months you can negotiate for a replacement or refund (depending on the circumstances).
Since you have already had two replacement drives and a logic board, then I think you have a pretty good argument for a replacement. However, they may not always be pro-active in letting you have a replacement so you may have to be prepared to argue your case. If necessary you may have to negotiate directly with the store manager rather than just a Genius.

I have been trying to access the itunes store for a week now but can not get past the screen to upgrade for free. I do not want to upgrade, I tried but can not install the free upgrade because I am using 10.2.2. I do not want to upgrade I just want to get to the itunes store... how do I get past this screen? I have an iMac G5 with a pre-Intel processor. My current OS is 10.4.1. When I open my iTunes store function, I get an upgrade to iTunes 10.5 page that does not allow me the opportunity to refuse the recommended upgrade and I don't want it because my processor is not the Intel processor. I can't get past this page to access the iTunes store. I can't find iTunes 9.2.1 online to download, if that is the only solution. The same drive models are available everywhere, and everyone who responds to this question will have their personal favorite, based in almost every case on their experience with that drive and very few, if any, others. Take their recommendations with a large grain of salt, as you would take the results of a political poll that only interviewed 1-5 people. Drives are cheap commodities now, very closely comparable, extremely competitively priced, and they offer very little basis on which to choose among them other than capacity, rotational speed, warranty (which differs little from one model to another any more), and price. All of them will eventually fail, so don't buy any drive without a clear plan for backing it up immediately to another one (or two). It doesn't matter what drive you buy, as long as you have it backed up. And if you don't have it backed up, you will sooner or later lose all your data no matter what drive you buy.

Actually I am setting up a lab for a small company with 25 users. Confused which license to purchase. Vendor sent us quotation in which he mentions we have to purchase "HP Server DL-380 -G8 Intel Xeon 2.5GHZ " in order to install windows server
2008 R2 OEM Edition CD. Actually I just want to know. Can't we purchase a assembled computer/Machine and purchase Windows Server 2008 R2 OEM CD for successful implementation?. Now, My question to you is. What is this OLP and OEM. Does OLP mean
we can install Windows Server in assemebled computer or machine and OEM means only dedicate company machine is capable to install OEM edition, Just confused, Please let me know. It is just a small company with 25 users. What do you recommend. Thank you for

Couple of things to remember as well
OEM licences comes with the machine probably you have seen laptops and desktop has a windows key sticker that's an OEM license. Only limitation with OEM is you can't use OEM license anywhere else then the machine you have bought it with. If an OEM license
machine dies license will die as well.
With volume license you have the freedom to move around the license. If you have only one license on one machine at one time.
Also when you buy a windows server license it comes with 5 user CALs. So that's why you have to buy 20 more.
Now if you want to know what are the CALs, so CAL is a Client Access License require for a
user/device to access windows server. For example if you have a user and he wants to access share files or printer from the server you will require a user CAL. So if 25 users will access the Server you will require 25 CALs.
Best thing to do is to speak with your account Manager from Dell or HP regarding the license side as normally they are really good in helping.

Thank you in advance for your time and expertise.
I am going to purchase a w540 soon and will be using it for accounting and for Photoshop CC. It is very important to me that the laptop works well with Photoshop as i edit images on a daily basis.
Im not sure which screen resolution to order, the 1920x1080 or the 2880x1620. Of course i would love to have the higher resolution display, however, i have read that Photoshop will not run properly at the present time on a high rez windows display. The UI is virtually unuseable.
If you can shed some light on the subject i would really appreciate it. Im thinking that i might be better off ordering the 1920x1080 display because i want the laptop to work well with Photoshop, but i wasnt sure how legitimate this problem is.
