Which inkjet printer is compatible with my iMac OS X version 10.8.5 computer?
Hello: I need some help. Which inkjet printer is compatible with my I Mac OS X version 10.8.5 computer?

I am confused. On the Apple KB article that you suggested, the Canon Pixma MX922 does not show that it is compatible with my computer.
It is listed. It is shown as the MX920 series, because different countries have a different name for this model (it's known as MX926 in Australia).
Are you wanting to connect the MX to your wireless network or direct to the Mac via USB cable? Either way, the supporting printer and scanner driver will be downloaded from Apple and installed on your Mac.

I want to start Time Machine. I bought a Goflex Home netwrork storage system, which says it is compatible with Imac. Each time I go online to try to get any updates, it always comes back saying Error. In other words, I can't start Time Machine because I can't get any software updates. Anyone else experiencing problems with Seagate software updates?
If you want to use Time Machine the Seagate software is unnecessary. The drive is probably ntfs format which is not for the Mac.
Manually preparing a new disk for Time Machine
If you want to erase a disk before using it with Time Machine, follow these steps:
Open Disk Utility (located in the Utilities folder).
Connect the disk if it isn't already attached.
In the left side of the Disk Utility window, select the disk you want to use with Time Machine.
Optional: If you want to partition the disk, click the Partition tab and select a layout. Make sure "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" is selected in the Format menu for the partition that will be used for backups. Click Apply.
Click the Erase tab.
Optional: If you want to securely erase the disk, click Security Options to configure, then click OK.
Click Erase.
After erasing, open Time Machine preferences in System Preferences and configure as described in the section above.

Where can I find a print driver compatible with OS 10.7 for USB HP LaserJet P1006?
Where can I find and download a print driver compatible with OS 10.7.5 on iMac for USB HP LaserJet P1006?
Ran software update. Apple notes that a driver is unavailable, consult HP (who seems to offer only info but no software download available).
Any troubleshooting info or hints are appreciated.Hi LPfromMA,
I'm sorry to hear you've run into difficulties finding the driver for your HP Laserjet P1006 for your Mac OS X 10.7.5.
I have included a document with the steps to download and install the driver for your printer and your Mac. It has a section for a USB connection. I have also checked HP.com and there is driver for Mac OS X 10.7.

Griffin's Pro Speaker Breakout Cable compatible with the iMac G5?? HELP!
I would love any suggestions anyone has as to making Griffin's Pro Speaker Breakout Cable compatible with the iMac G5.
I just made the very foolish mistake of purchasing Griffin's Pro Speaker Breakout Cable for my iMac G5, which I am sure others, more up to speed on their apple products, realize are not compatible. The Pro Speaker Breakout Cable, as its name would suggest, connects to the Apple Pro Speakers Minijack available in G4s and G3s.
I need someway to connect this Apple Pro Mini plug (2.5mm plug) to my audio-out 3.5mm output jack on my iMac. I have found this connector http://www.mpja.com/productview.asp?product=11298+AD but I am not sure if the 2.5mm Apple jack is the same as other 2.5mm jacks. Does anyone know if the two are compatible???
I guess the other option is the iFire - or, conversely, to just forget the whole thing and get some new speakers.
Any suggestions on the best/ most cost effective option would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks in advance,
ChrisForgive me for not being specific enough. I do not want to connect apple pro speakers. I want to connect my household speakers via the Pro Speaker Breakout Cable http://www.griffintechnology.com/archive/audio/prospeaker.html to my iMac. However, I did not realize that the breakout cable connected to the obsolete Apple Pro Speaker Minijack 2.5mm.
Basically, I am just looking for the most cost effective method to get suitable sound from my computer. The threee options I am considering are:
a) 2.5mm jack to 3.5mm plug converter allowing my breakout cable to fit into my audio input (which I am not sure will work - as I am not sure if the Apple minijack is a standard 2.5mm)
b) get the iFire, plug my breakout cable into the iFire and then to my computer.
c) get a different sound system entirely.
I am really looking for any advice as to which would be best. -
How do I go back to Firefox 5.0? I need to use Selenium IDE, which is not yet compatible with 6.0.
The link is to the latest update to 4.o which was 4.0.1
The 4.0.1 and 5.0 are two separate versions as installing 4.0.1 over 5.0 will just give you the old 4.0.1 as the end result.
The 5.0 is partially as a security update in place of 4.0.2.
The Skype extension was only for to make it so you can dial phone numbers on a web page in the separate Skype program right so if you were not using it then no need for the Skype extension for the separate Skype application to work. -
Is Windows 7 64-bit Compatible with This iMac late 2013 ?
Is Windows 7 64-bit compatible with this computer?
Hardware and software:
• Late 2013 iMac 27", 3.5 GHz I7, 32 GB memory, 1 TB hard drive Flash
* 4GB Graphic Card
• Mac OS 10.9.1
• USB thumb drive 2.0 16GB
• Boot Camp Assistant 5.1.0
• Windows 7 64-bit install disk iso image
Install steps:
1. Use Boot Camp Assistant to install Windows 7 install (from iso image) and Apple Support Software (creates WININSTALL USB drive)
2. Use Boot Camp Assistant to create Equal partition (500GB) on iMac internal drive and start Windows install
3. Complete initial install steps until given option to select install partition
4. Select 500 GB partition. Error message that partition is not formatted correctly. Use Advance Options to format (presumably to NTFS)
5. Select 500 GB partition again and click "Next"
6. Get error message "Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition. See the Setup log files for more information."
7. Install quits at this point
I'm wondering if Windows 7 and/or Boot Camp is compatible with this iMac. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Many thanks.
JoeHi, Indeed. I am selecting the Bootcamp partition, and If I do Format, It informs me that all we be deleted, ok fair enough. then I can click the NEXT button, but I got then a msg stating :
Setup was u nable to create a new system partion or locate an existing system partition. See the Setup Log Files for more informations.
I have not more option here, I can delete, then create a new one with same size then format again, but same message at the end. this is my issue.
A guy done a Youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vD7dbSl9-b8
I am all ok up to 5min 50 on the video. Then My issue is what he has....
However, when he format the partition he does not have my error msg stating Setup was unable to create. etc...
This is my issue. -
What PDA/Blackberry Should I purchase to be compatible with My iMac G5?
Hi,
I need to buy a new cell phone b/c we are moving, and I think I'd like to try a Blackberry. Can I make it compatible with my iMac, or is there a PDA that you recommend that is better? Unfortunately I have to use Cingular, so I'm limited in my choices, I think.
Thanks!

I would like to buy a flat bed scanner in the uk compatible with my iMAc 10.8.4
I would like to buy a flat bed scanner in the uk compatible with my iMAc 10.8.4. There seems to be a gap of information between Apple and say Epson on what drivers are suitable any Ideas?
If I look at a scanner from an online store and can't find whether it is Mac compatible there, I go to the manufacturer website and check for compatibility. Sometimes I'll find the Mac logo embedded in the scanner photo, other times I'll have to select the driver link and find if there's a download for the Mac OS I'm using.
So far every scanner I've ever bought (that wasn't years old on some fire sale table at Staples) has been Mac compatible. Of course sometimes when the OS is updated it takes time for the manufacturer to update the driver software (and sometimes it chooses not to) but since 10.8 has been out for almost a year the former isn't going to be a problem. -
