Which instruction book/tutorial will help more?

Hey everyone,
I'm getting a little fed up with the manuals that come with the Logic Pro software and have been looking around for some good books and tutorials to help get me on a better path with this complex program.
So far, I have narrowed down my search to the following:
The Macprovideo.com tutorials (the bundle for $100)

OR
Martin Sitters "Apple Pro Training Series : Logic Pro 7 and Logic Express" which is highly reviewed.
What do you guys think will be more helpful for really getting started and educated with this program? I realize the video tutorials are more expesive, but I'm willing to pay if it really helps. Thoughts?

These people have a good DVD with 7 hours of lessons covering all
aspects of the program. Also there are some Logic files on the disc
so you practice what they are teaching.

I heard objects will take up more memory than default datatypes. I'm looking for speed and memory optimization, so even the slightest of memory saving will matter.

the first one needs less memory, I guess - beside the point, that the second one has 100 additional references, is the fact, that allocation of memory on modern machines is not a continous one - new data blocks are arranged so, that they start on even addresses (it's a performance issue) often clustered in multiples of 16, 32 or 64. So if you allocate a lot of single objects, the average loss of memory with each object is 8,16 or 32 Bytes (half the cluster size).
The first one allocates 3 compact data blocks (arrays) - so 3 times the additional loss of memory takes place. The second one allocates 101 blocks (100 objects + 1 array), and so 101 times the additional loss of memory takes place.

Welcome to the forums and to Macs in general. One of the best sources for help is here on the forums. Look through and find the different ones that may help you and ask away. Most of the people on here are very knowledgable and helpful. The Apple: Find out how link is also a great source. You can also call Apple and ask for help from them on the phone. That is included with you warranty for 90 days. If you buy Apple Care it extends your warranty and phone help to 3 years. I have always bought AppleCare and it has more than paid for itself over the years.

Which one of these will help my n70?

Well basicly my n70 is being really slow, i have nothing installed on it and it is updated... i baught it from argos and im unsure what to do...which one shall i do:
1) Take it to nokia and get them to flash it
2) Take it back to argos and get a refund
3) Drive my car over it

Flight Booking Tutorial

Hi All,
Im trying to deply and run the tutorial on flight booking available. I have imported it in developer studio and deployed it. The JCo destinations are alse created and working. I can see the output as required when I run the application, I don't get any error. But the details entered are not getting written to the database table SBOOK.
Any ideas as to why this is happening?

The reps at that time deflected the easiest course of action, by trying to get you to replace the phone under insurance instead of returning the phone. The Early Edge payment option requires the current phone on the line using the early Edge must be returned to Verizon Wireless. Did you once considered going to a third party site like Swappa to purchase a gently used device for your daughter?

Is there a tutorial that will help in creating a RS232 driver?

I am attempting to write a driver / VI that will control an Animatics "SmartMoter" via a RS232 port. I was able to download sub VI's from www.summerfiles.com.
Is there a tutorial that will help in creating a driver for a RS232 port? I take it that I will need to connect these sub vi's in a correct sequence to be able to communicate through the RS232 port.

It seems that what you downloaded is a driver. What you need to determine is how to use the functions on the driver to create a high level application. There is a tutorial at http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/2804 that might be useful. The driver you downloaded is lacking in several areas. One of which is documention. Each VI should include a description of what it is and what it does. Each control/indicator should also include a description. I could not find any such information in these VIs. I didn't look at everything because the horrid front panel colors in the SmartMotor.llb was giving me a headache. I did see a VI called SM Tester. This appears to be a high level example that you could use as a model.

Will adding more Ram help?

My iMac is 2010. Over the last 3 - 4 months its started to slow down a bit. I realize sometimes thats just the way things are but I am wondering if there is anything I can do to help. It seems that everything is a bit slow on startup/wakeup. It takes about 5-10 seconds for things to get rolling, that doesn't bother me that much, I can handle it, just pointing out that is different from 3-4 months ago. Once things get rolling its fine.
iPhoto on occasion slows down, but again for the most part its ok. It's iMovie that really seems to lag. I realize of the things I am using iMovie is probably the most "powerful" program I am using , dealing with all the video files, but it has become very tedious to use. I've tried to "clean up" things a bit and that doesn't seem to really be helping. I am wondering if adding more RAM would help. Currently I have 4 slots filled with 2 GB of Ram. I think thinking of upgrading 2 of those to 4GB.
I guess I am wondering if that would make a difference? I know in theory adding more "juice" will make things run faster but for the most part the computer does run ok on its own, its iMovie that lags. It it simplky because its a more powerful program and adding more juice will help. Or do we think something else is going on?

Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Scroll back to the time you noted above. The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of it useless for solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough. It is never necessary or helpful to post more than about 100 lines. "The more, the better" is not the rule here.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

it has been a while since we have last spoke, I would like to let you know, I am still working on getting used to the switch from windows to a Mac/Apple system. I do have a new question for you, I did purchase In Design CS5.5 through journeyed.com through Cuyahoga Community College of which I attend as a student, is there a way to purchase an online book through iTunes to learn that as well? Also, you know me, the struggling student, I would also, when and if the book can be purchased through the iTunes, would need to know if you do know of a much easier book for struggling students like myself and at a reasonable price as well for the In Design CS5.5 program. Our campus bookstore had closed early, and, so did the colleges library and our local library here where I do live, so, I cannot go to either place to purchase a book or to take out a book, plus cash funds are low at this moment as well but, I do have money left on the iTunes account to use, if it can be used. So, can it be used, the iTunes money, towards finding a low priced online book? I am in great need of assistance as I have a project due for my one course for this Tuesday, September 4, 2012.

Need ASA that will do more that 130,000 NAT Sessions? Help

ASA NAT Performance Figures Please ?
Does anyone have real world NAT performance figures for any of the ASA55** models.
I am interested to see actual NAT Sessions and throughput on the ASA ?
My Router has peaked at 130,000 Sessions (100% CPU) so I need to move to an ASA. Currently using a CISCO7201
So I need assistance in choosing a ASA55XX to replace that will do more than 130,000 NAT Sessions ?

I found and app called Photon that streams java so I can view Java based apps. That might work for placing your orders. It was free.
