  • IOS for 2801 having support for MPLS

    Assalam o Alaikum,
Is there any IOS for 2801 router which has the support for MPLS?

    Alaikum Al Salam,
Please use Cisco Feature Navigator to find information about Cisco IOS software images and the supported features for your platform(s) :
    http://tools.cisco.com/ITDIT/CFN/jsp/index.jsp
Search by feature and choose MPLS, and then choose Cisco 2801 as the platform, you'll get a list of the IOSs that support MPLS on your platform, and please always check the required DRAM and Flash.

If you want to run BGP on 3650 series switches, you need to have IP Services license.

  • What version of IOS for catalyst 3750

    Hi,
What version of IOS should I use for a Catalyst 3750? I don't need layer 3 functionality, but I do need SSH support.
Which version is the most stable?
Can I run the 3750 off a bin image instead of a .TAR image?
If I do use the bin image what functionality am I using. I don't use the HTTP functions and turn those off
Our Catalyst 3750's that come in come with the TAR image. and that isn't compatable with LMS 2.5.
Is the bin file in the TAR image, the same as the BIN file in the non tar image?

12.2(25)SEB2 should be a good release to run. You can just use the .bin file if you do not need the web interface. Yes the bootable IOS image is the same in .bin and .tar file.
You can dowload the crypto images from CCO at

  • Best/stable IOS for 7206 to support MPLS and L2TP/LNS

    Hi.
I can see many versions of IOS that can support MPLS/L2TP/LNS for 7206.
But which is the latest recommended?
    I am eyeing the following:
    12.4.24T7(ED)
    c7200p-advipservicesk9-mz.124-24.T7.bin
    or
    12.2.33 SRE6
    c7200p-advipservicesk9-mz.122-33.SRE6.bin
    Both released March2012.
Or should I go up to 15.1?
    thanks

    Hi Allan,
I would recommened moving to 15.1. Multiple bug fixes + lot of code changes are present between 124 - SRE and 15.1, particularly CEF, Multicast and QoS.

  • Which IOS for BGP dot notation? (7206VXR)

Hello there! I'm currently using a Cisco 7206VXR (NPE-G1) and need to begin peering with a BGP neighbour that is using a 4-byte ASN. It looks like the firmware I'm using is too old to support this (it's from 2006!) and am wondering what IOS release is best to be using. I'm currently using 12.4(9)T1 for the IOS. The bootloader and rommon look pretty old too. Will I need to upgrade those as well? Should I be jumping right into the 15.x releases or should I stick on 12.4 T releases? Here is an output from a "show version"

    Hi,
BGP was supported starting from the SP feature set (not in IP Base and IP Voice)
Beginning from 12.4(4)T, BGP is supported with advance security feature set.
Begining from 12.4(11)T, BGP is supported with even IP base and IP voice feature set.

  • Which tools for the Mac support Secure Erase (SE)

Note: I'm not talking about what Disk Utility allows you do to go by overriting data. I'm talking about a full wipe of areas not usually accessible by the user. For instance the X-25M like any other ATA device supports SECURE_ERASE which will erase more than just the data area of the drive.
So far HDDERASE for the PC is the only tool I know of that issues this command.
Is there any C code that exists that issues this command that allows this command to be issued on Macs and machines that don't support what's called "legacy IDE mode?"

The most secure is zeroing an entire hard drive:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1820
Note it won't work on hard drives that have been partitioned. Therefore it really does the ENTIRE hard drive.

  • More stable IOS for ME 3600-X

    Hi,
Which IOS for ME 3600X switch better suits production deployment (more features, less known/unknown(by TAC) bugs, etc.) ? What are key differences?
    The choice is between:
    15.3-1.S
    15.2-4.S2
    wbr,
    Alex
    DAO21-RIPE

I've just finished upgrading to 15.3(2)S.  So far so good.  I'm happy with this.
WARNING:  I don't remember which one, I'm suspecting it was 15.2(4)S, but if anyone is upgrading FROM THIS version to anything else, DO NOT use the command "archive download-sw" command.  Here's what going to happen when you do:
    1.  Firstly, your CPU will spike so high, you'd think you just killed your appliance;
    2.  The entire download "process" will take 1/3 of the actual time and you'd mistakenly think the IOS upgrade has been completed.  Well, NO IT HAS NOT.
If you look for the Cisco Bug Toolkit, it'll say that the workaround is "NONE".  And I've sent a negative feedback about the accuracy of this workaround.
The REAL workaround is to use the "archive tar /x tftp:///IOS.TAR flash:" command.  After the IOS extraction (/x) is done, you may delete the old IOS, change the bootstring and then reload the switch.

I am using Iphone 3G and running with ios version 4.2.1 .I am looking for to run whatsup apps. Can you guide me which IOS version should i download wherein,it will support whatsup apps

with an iphone 3G the most up to date ios is 4.2.1 so you have a problem because whatsapp requires a higher version.  If you saved an earlier version of whatsapp you could install that otherwise you cannot use the app.  You will need to get a more up to date phone

  • Upgrade Catalyst 4500 Supervisor Engine 8-E(IOS XE Software)

    Folks,
We are looking to upgrade the Catalyst 4500 Supervisor Engine 8-E(IOS XE Software). As of now we are running on 3.3.1XO and as per the Cisco notes version 3.3.2XO which is suggested version.
I would like to find some comparison documents on both these version and establish if there is a need to do the upgrade. What are the fixes that have been done in this version.
    Thanks,!!

    Hi Nikhil,
Please find release notes of version 3.3.2XO below which can provide you the details to upgrade.
Mainly you need to refer the features it supports and resolved cavets (which means the bugs resolved fro the earlier version on to this.).

  • Wanted: Complete list (chart) of iOS 4.1 feature support for 2G vs 3G Touch

I have 2G Touch, running iOS 4. Love it.
QUESTION: Is there an iOS 4.1 chart that lists specific features available for 2G vs. 3G hardware?
    CONTEXT:
    (A) I already scoured this page:
    http://www.apple.com/ipodtouch/software-update/
...and was unsatisfied by this ambiguous disclaimer:
"Not all features are compatible with all devices. For example, multitasking, custom wallpaper, and Bluetooth keyboard support are available only with iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, and the third- and fourth-generation iPod touch (all models from late 2010 and 32GB and 64GB models from late 2009)."
    (B) So, I searched apple.com's support/forums for an updated version of this WONDERFUL compatability chart:
"_iPod touch: Which iOS 4 software features does my iPod touch support?_"
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4205
    Last Modified: June 24, 2010
    Article: HT4205
*_MY DREAM_ is for article HT4205 to be updated, by someone, somewhere!*
    Thanks in advance.

Can anyone else verify that this information remains unavailable?
Have any independent blogs/sites created a tentative (speculative) chart/table with the information I requested?
    Thank you

  • Can i use a font such as Yuppy, Chalkboard which is basically included in iOS  for commercial purpose?

    hi!
I make a e-book and it will be published on appstore and android market as application.
    I'm wondering about font.
Can i use a font such as Yuppy, Chalkboard which is basically included in iOS  for commercial purpose like me?
I bought a mountain lion on appstore.
I look forward to hearing from apple whether it is lawful or not.
    Have a blessed day~:)

Strangely, there isn't and end user license on Apple's site regarding iOS. But here's a look at the font agreement section from OS X Mountain Lion:
    E. Fonts. Subject to the terms and conditions of this License, you may use the fonts included with the Apple Software to display and print content while running the Apple Software; however, you may only embed fonts in content if that is permitted by the embedding restrictions accompanying the font in question. These embedding restrictions can be found in the Font Book/Preview/Show Font Info panel.
So basically, you need to examine the fonts to see if there are notes on usage restrictions or limitations.
