I agree that if I had to give a one-syllable answer it would be “Pro” but both are "best" depending on your budget and needs.
If you want a machine upgradeable memory and disk or you want the high capacity and low price of a real hard disk, go with the mid-2012 non-Retina MBP. For portability it is heavy: 4.5 lbs. but it also has a a low entry-level price: $1,200 with 4 GB of RAM and 500 GB of disk storage.
For all the MBA and rMBP models you need to order permanent RAM and SSD sizes at purchase time.
For these non-upgradeable machines suggesst configuring them with at least 8 GB of memory for future proofing.
Do you need 128 GB or 256 GB of SSD or more? How much are you using now on your Mac or PC? How much more are you likely to use?
Do you prefer the extra light portability and longer battery life of the 3 lb. MBA or the faster processors in the 3.5 lb rMBP?
MBP with 4 GB RAM and 500 GB disk: $1,200
          RAM and disk upgradeable if you find this configuration is too small.
MBA with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB SSD: $1,400.
          Lightweight (3 lbs.) with excellent battery life (12 hours)

Here is what worked for me:
My usb hub, being usb2, was too fast. I moved the wire to a usb port directory on my pc. That is a usb1 port which is slow enough to run your snyc.

Are you using the Sky Go app to try and watch it ? If so are you logged in with your Sky account ?
If you are using the app then you could try closing the app completely and see if it works when you re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Sky Go 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Sky Go app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

On my laptop when I open up a pdf file and do a search for a particular
text phrase it prompts me to run a character analysis. Whereas on my mac
mini, when I try to engage the same process it just says it couldn't find
the phrase and doesn't even try and run a character analysis. I tried
clicking on the tool bar and the recognize text tab but nothing there seems
to do anything.
In trying to figure out the issue on my own I noticed one thing. I run a
small law firm in St. Louis and I scan in all my files to which are
subsequently emailed to my outlook account where I will save them as pdf's
to their respective folders. On my laptop when I open up an email from my
scanner I see the image of a acrobat document next to the attachment
paperclip symbol. However, when I open up the same email on my mac mini I
notice instead of an acrobat file image it shows a Preview file image (the
program used to open up pdf's before I installed acrobat).

What version of LR are you trying to activate? A serial number for LR 1 will not activate LR versions 2 - 5, but it will enable you to purchase LR 5 at the upgrade price and activate it.

The previous version of Firefox used the whole screen; this version (Firefox Beta 4.0) uses only about 2/3 of the screen, leavig a space above and below the part-screen that it does use,and filling the rest with a background. How recently did you switch? If it's less than 60 days, then Verizon simply reinstates your previous account. The fact that you were on the EDGE plan and mailed the devices back, and they apparently are somewhere in the system, could cause complications, and it might just work out that you just go back on the same plan and they set you up with the same devices. I'm not sure how it will go - but since you are still being billed for the devices...

Although it isn't possible to sync an Apple device with two different libraries it is possible to sync with the same logical library from multiple computers. Each library has an internal ID and when iTunes connects to your iPod/iPad/iPhone it compares the local ID with the one the device normally syncs with. I have my library cloned to a small 1Tb USB drive which I can take between home & work. At either location I use SyncToy 2.1 to update the local copy with the external drive. Mac users should be able to find similar tools. I can open either of the local libraries or the one on the external drive and update the media content of my iPhone. The slight exception is Photos which normally connects to a specific folder on a specific machine, although that can easily be remapped to the current library if you create a "Photos" folder inside the iTunes Media folder so that syncing the iTunes folders keeps this up to date as well. I periodically sweep my library for new files & orphans with iTunes Folder Watch just in case I make changes at one location but then overwrite the library with a newer copy from the other. Again Mac users should be able to find similar tools.
As long as your media is organised within an iTunes Music or Tunes Media folder, in turn held inside the main iTunes folder that has your library files (whether or not you let iTunes keep the media folder organised) each library can access items at the same relative path from the library folder so the library can be at different drives/paths on different machines. This solution ensures I always have adequate backups of my library and I can update my devices whenever I can connect to the same build of iTunes.
When working with an iPhone earlier builds of iTunes would remove any file not physically present in the local library, even if there was an entry for it, making manual management practically redundant on the iPhone. This behaviour has been changed but it will still only permit manual management with a library that has the correct internal ID. If you don't want to sync your library between machines on a regular basis just copy the iTunes Library.itl file from the current "home" machine to any other you want to use, then clean out the library entires and import the local content you have on that box.
On the offchance that you've split out the media folder from its normal location inside the iTunes folder see make a split library portable.

I got this iphone 4S 4days ago. That file could be set as a Launch Agent or Daemon in your ~/Library or /Library, You could try to look for it or Safeboot your computer and then empty the trash. Which one is better for playback/performance - iMac or Mac Pro?

I'm getting a new mac and I don't care that much about the render time as I do about being able to play back my effects in real time. I know that both the $1500 iMac and the Mac Pro would work with Premiere and I'm pretty sure I won't have any problems with the Mac Pro but obviously I'm on a budget so my question is - will the iMac be able to handle effects in real time without the need for me to render first?

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

Lap top keeps going offline with printer

I have an HP Envy 17t Quad touchsmart laptop and an HP 4635 printer, both of which were purchased March 2014. Never problems with wifi connections until the last couple weeks. The first time all the computers on our network were not communicating, so we reset the router and got them back up working.
But now am having an almost daily issue with the lap top going offline. The desktop is fine, but I have to restart both the printer and the laptop to get printing again.
At first I thought we might have router issues, but now am wondering if there is a problem with my new laptop?

From your description, the first thing I think of is the possibility of the printer having a manual/static IP. If the Printer has a static IP ad that IP so happens to be the same as what the computer has, maybe turning the printer on is kicking the computer off of the network. I am not sure how doing a system restore would be resolved this, even temporarily, but let's try a different approach and see what happens.
First on the printer I will have you restore your network defaults, then run the wireless setup wizard to reconnect your printer to your network. To do this, arrow down to Settings and press OK, navigate to Wireless and press OK, then look for Restore Network Defaults and press OK. Once the defaults have been restored, look for and select Wireless Setup Wizard in the Wireless menu to run the wizard.
Now restart both the computer and the printer and see if you can maintain a wireless connection on the computer. Please let me know if this resolves the issue. If the issue persists, we will have eliminated this possible cause and move on to the next.

I understand you no longer have the installation disk for your Photosmart C4580, and that is okay!
