Which is a dual 2-bit bistable transparent latch IC in multisim analog devices edition

I need an equivalent IC for CD74HC75, which is a dual 2-bit transparent latch IC, for a project simulation. Cant find it in the Multisim reference guide.
Any suggestions??

emind,
Hello, in the Multisim Analog Devices Evaluation Edition, you will find a D_Latch under the TIL family of parts (use 2 with EN tied together for a dual latch) that you can use for generic simulation purposes.   If you need a specific latch from a manufacturer or specific logic family that might be challenging (we have a few in the PRO version or you can add some external circuitry to the TIL part to mimic the behavior of a particular logic family).
The TIL parts (generic digital I/O) are located here:  Misc Digital (group) -> TIL -> D_LATCH.
I created a simple interactive circuit with a probe so you can observe the behavior to see if it will meet your simulation needs.

  • Is there a way to make cursors support more than 1-bit alpha transparency?

I made a nice cursor PNG, and then I load it into an ImageIcon, use getImage() to get an Image, then use Toolkit.createCustomCursor to make my cursor, set the cursor, and I get a disappointing ugly mess.
My cursor used a bit of transparency and looked quite nice, but it seems that some class along the way decided to make my translucent pixels opaque.
There isn't a way around this is there? And why do cursor's have to be 32x32 px?? I had to take my 16x16 one and throw it in a larger image......
I suppose I don't really need a custom cursor anyway though..

    Hi, Ian.
I would hope that application developers would learn from game developers, where HUDs are used ubiquitously.. Very usable and can be even 90% transparent or more.... it is all about contrast. There is a LOT of opaque DARK gray space in the Aperture HUDs, which could easily be much more transparent (even 50% would help). All you would have to do is keep the adjustment controls contrast up. i.e. Apples DVD Player Navigator.
    Anyway.... it would be nice.
Thanks again for keeping me company at this early hour.

  • Which car chargers (dual preferred) work with iPad 3?

As above, my car charger won't charge my new iPad (iPad 3), despite saying it is 2.1 amps.
Which car chargers (dual preferred) work with iPad 3?

I have one that is supposed to work.  Bought after a google search, FWIW.  Doesn't work.  Says it outputs 2.1amps.  The iPad says it does not charge with it.
I'm looking for experience with my question, not marketing.
Which car charger that people own and use here works with the new iPad?

  • I have an iPhone in my name and my wife has an iPad in her name. We have just ordered an iMac and wondered which account we should use to get the best out of all the devices

I have an iPhone in my name and my wife has an iPad in her name. We have just ordered an iMac and wondered which account we should use to get the best out of all the devices? Can we use both accounts in iCloud?

Yes you can.  However, it is better to use one person's account most of the time for purchases in the Mac App Store and iTunes since you can share purchases, such as songs, among various devices using the SAME account.  You Cannot share purchases among different accounts, though.   So make one of your accounts the main "purchasing" account so you can share purchases.
    Hope this helps

  • Video demo of Analog Devices dual 2.5Gsamples/sec ADCs running at 5Gsamples/sec at Embedded World 2015

Last year, Analog Devices announced the 2.5Gsamples/sec AD9625-2.5 ADC and the $750 AD-FMCADC2-EBZ FMC module. (See “Analog Devices kicks sample rate up a notch on AD9625 ADC: now 2.5Gsamples/sec”.) The company demonstrated this FMC module at this year’s Embedded World 2015 with two ADCs running in interleaved mode for an aggregate sample rate of 5Gsamples/sec. The FMC card is plugged into a Xilinx Virtex-7 VC707 Eval Kit and communicates over 16 lanes of JESD204B each running at 6.5Gbps. The on-board Virtex-7 XC7VX485T FPGA’s DSPs and high-speed logic fabric are used to interleave the readings from the two ADCs on the FMC card.
Here’s a short video showing the demo:

It used to be in there (id 226635 is the last one with it); should I clean it up a bit and put it back with a bit more of a disclaimer?

  • Which do you think; Windows 7: 32-bit / 64-bit, (plus unused RAM issues) is best for video editing?

    Hi there!
Just received delivery of a Lenovo G550 with the following spec:
    2.2Ghz Core 2 Duo,
    4GB (DDR3 - 1066Hz) RAM,
    500GB HDD
    NVIDIA GeForce G210M (512MB)
    Windows 7
The entire purpose for buying this laptop, was for video editing and it is the best spec I could find for my needs and budget.
    So what's the problem?
    1) Windows 7 is installed as 32-bit, not 64 bit. Why is this? I was given no choice in this decision.
    2) Only 2.96GB of that juicey RAM is being used by Windows 7. I need as much RAM as possible for video editing.
    3) Lenovo sent NO install disc. - When I eventually get a virus or my HDD fails, I have NO WAY to clean install the very product I have just purchased! (A laptop with Windows 7 OS).
    Considerations:
As I understand it (please comment if there are alternative views on this); The 64-bit architecture is only useful for compatible software which has been designed to run 64-bit.
The video editing software I use is "Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD 9.0"
The suggested problems with Windows 7 run as 64-bit include:
    * Possible lack of driver compatibility support.
    * Possibility of 32-bit programs running SLOWER in 64-bit environment, than their native 32-bit environment.
    * Higher running temperatures & processor cooling issues.
    * No performance gains for all other programs running as 32-bit (email, internet browser, etc).
The suggested advantages with Windows 7 run as 64-bit could be:
    * Full utilisation of the 4GB RAM. (Presently limited to 2.96GB)
    * Faster rendering and video editing tasks in 64-bit environment.
    Questions:
    4) How can I get an install disc for Windows 7? Shouldn't this come with the computer?
    5) Do you think the potential hassle and architecture conflicts are worth suffering, to get the reported performance gains of 64-bit architecture and the remaining unused RAM?
Thank you for any help and advice!

contact lenovo support line for windows 7 dvds, but make sure if they send recovery dvds instead of windows 7 dvd.
most of people are having trouble with installing windows and drivers, so companies has found as this as solution to send recovery dvd -if asked- or using hidden partition to recovery system - like one key recover - instead of.
but if you ask me, they need to send dvds.
i'll contact the mods and admins about this issue, please stay connected to this post.

In dicsussing an upcoming project that will be 16x9, for which we have to create menus that will pan and scan at 4:3, the client mentioned something about "you know about the dual 8bit" thing, right?"

Anyone know what he was talking about regarding the menus and the 16x9 / 4:3 thing?

  • BO4 - Which servers use/need 32-bit drivers

    Hi,
Looking at admin manual mentions some serves use 32 bit rather than 64-bit servers.
Can't find mention of exact ones e.g if only Crytsal ones then is it worh installing the 32-bit middleware e.g oracle client.?
Using BO4 SP5 on Winodws 2008 R2 servers (primarily WEBI, some dahsboards - no Crytsal currently used)
Anyone know eaxctly which services use 32-bit as oppose to 64-bit drivers.
If so assume fine just to isnatll under same user account on windows server as the account used to install the 64-bit cleint.
    Thanks

    Philip,
The only server modules that working in 32bit is Connection 32bit to support the install of 32bit client drivers, otherwise all server modules are running 64bit.  You have TWO connection server, ONE for 32bit and another for 64bit support.
Some database that 32bit can support connection from 64bit clients, like Oracle or MS SQL.
Other databases running 64bit you may want to use 32bit clients, such as IBM Db2 because of stability.

  • ATI 9600 Pro Mac & PC Ed. - Which is the Dual Link DVI Port?

I just bought an ATI Radeon 9600 Pro Mac & PC edition Video Card:
    http://www.ati.com/products/radeon9600/radeon9600propcmac/index.html
This card features 2 DVI ports - one of them dual link.
Maybe I'm just blind, but I've been looking around everywhere trying to figure out which DVI port is the dual link. Does anyone know?
    Any help will be appreciated.
    PowerMac G5 dual 1.8, TiBook 550, Compaq V2000 1.68 Turion   Mac OS X (10.4.5)   G5-160+120gb,1.5gb,4xSD | PBook-20gb,768mb,Combo | V2000-80,512,8xDL+Lightscribe

There is a small "1" stamped in the sheet metal next to the single link DVI connector, and a small "2" next to the dual link DVI connector. The single link is closer to the motherboard.
There should be a PDF Users Guide on the Mac CD that came with the board. Page 17 shows the connectors.

  • Hello.  I have a MacBook Pro with Logic 9 which currently is at 32 bits.  How do I upgrade to 64 bits?

Question:  I have a MacBook Pro running OS 10.6.8 and Logic Pro 9, set at 32 bits.  I would like to upgrade to 64 bits.  How do I do that?
    Thank you very much.

Well, I'm beginning to have my doubts about that.  But is there a way I can check to see for sure?  This is a vintage 2007 MacBook.  I just had to replace the logic board & the HD, & now Logic Pro doesn't recognize any of my sound programs/libraries/plug-ins.  Any advice is appreciated.

  • How to upgrade bit rate of ripped CD's w/o losing edited track info

I am in the process of re-ripping my music library to iTunes at a higher bit rate.
An annoying thing that happens is that track information that I have edited (e.g. corrected erroneous track names, added artist info, or other changes to the info automatically gathered from Gracenote), or custom Genres that I use, automatically resets to the Gracenote values. Sometimes the changes I've made are quite comprehensive, entailing a lot of work.
(Album art is not removed, however. That seems to be the only field that isn't affected.)
What I want to do is just pop the CD in, click "Replace" in the dialogue, and have iTunes replace only the audio data itself - +leaving everything else untouched,+ thank you very much.
I have tried disconnecting my Internet connection prior to the operation, but for some reason, this does not help - the information is still reset to whatever was originally gathered from Gracenote. (Is the default information cached somehow, I wonder...)
So: How should I go about achieving the above? How do I preserve my laboriously edited information when re-ripping my CD's?

    cderalow wrote:
If you understood what I mean, you'll understand why it loses the information that's associated with the original.
My own experience is when you re-rip a CD and iTunes asks you if you want to replace your current version, it WILL retain all your custom data you added to the tracks including ratings, playcounts, and tags like song name, comments, etc.
    cderalow wrote:
it's annoying, I know. Which is why I'll generally choose to convert over re-rip.
Except converting doesn't gain you anything and may even degrade the tracks. The original poster wants a higher bitrate than originally ripped at. Converting up in bit rate won't gain you any quality. Re-ripping from the original CD will.
