Which is better bluetooth 4.0 wireless technology and edr wireless technology ? which is better between the two ?
i saw in the tech specs that macbook air has "bluetooth 4.0 wireless technology" while macbook pro has "bluetooth 2.1 + edr wireless technology". what's the difference ? and which one is better ?
Bluetooth 4.0 is the later standard. You can read up on it here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluetooth#Bluetooth_v4.0
Whether Bluetooth 4.0 is "better" than the earlier version depends entirely on the Bluetooth peripheral you wish to use, but in general, the later version is more desirable since it included all of the older versions' capabilities and adds some new ones. If the peripheral doesn't take advantage of those new capabilities, though, then it won't matter.

"how to" question for wireless keyboard and/or wireless Mighty Mouse
I just purchased a wireless keyboard and a wireless Mighty Mouse (yesterday)
and notice I cannot use the calculator 'widget' in my Dock
1. the number keys on the new keyboard do not activate the corresponding numbers on the widget
and
2. the mouse does not activate the widget numbers when I click on them, either
does anyone know if the calculator can work with these 2 new accessories?
(if not, is there another, similar, calculator I can use now..?)
thank you for your timeHello d:
The calculator works just fine with my Apple BT devices. I doubt if the problem is with the devices.
Try deleting the calculator widget from the dashboard (when dashboard is open). Then add it back.

since upgrading to 10.8, my wireless stalls out. The drop down under the wireless icon says “Wi-Fi: Looking for networks… and has a rotating gear. I have to turn the wireless off and then back on to get back on the internet. Does anyone have a solution? All iPhones and iPad and windows computers work fine.

Does the imac come with a wireless keyboard and a wireless mouse?
I am buying an imac tomorrow and I was wondering if I have to pay extra for a wireless keyboard and a wireless mouse.
iMac's come with a wireless keyboard and magic mouse, as the standard fare. So you don't need to pay extra for them. I would recommend purchasing rechargable batteries and a charger, as the mouse does chew through batteries.

What is Thin and Thick Client ? Differences between the Two ? Which is Best
Dear All,
I like to develop both web-based and also standalone applications. i like to choose the best drivers for my applications. can anybody suggest which one to choose and what are the drawbacks in each driver ?

to choose the best drivers for my applications. can
anybody suggest which one to choose and what are the
drawbacks in each driver ?I dont get what excatly you meaned by driver but basicaly a thin client means it only does the prescentation of data to its user and all the logics will be in a server. for every task it will connect to the server.
In a Thick client it can do more processing and it will connect to the server only for the tasks that it cant perform with the data it has in the client.

Thanks,
J.KathirHere is a general comparison between main features of thin/thick(fat) clients
Both thin and thick clients has their own advantages and disadvantages. most of time one wins when other fails.
1. Thin client extencvely uses the server to all its operations which will increace the network traffic and the load on the server. as a result the perfomance of the client will depend on the load and the resources available for the server
2. But all the logic is in the server so if you are developing multiple clients for the same application (Ex:- Standallone app, Web client, Mobile clients......) you will not need to duplicate logic in each client.
3. Fat clients reduce the load on server and less dependant on the server. but since they are fat they will take more processing power and memory on client computers.
4. If you are developing multiple clients as menctioned in 2 you will need to duplicate the logics written the clients -
I have a macbook pro retina and a macbook air which I just purchased, I want to share all of the music on the retina with the air.
The simplest way is to use an external USB drive. Copy the iTunes folder to the drive while it's connected to your MBP. When done eject the drive. Connect the drive to the MBA. Navigate in the Finder to the /Home/Music/ folder on the MBA. Copy the iTunes folder from the external drive into the /Home/Music/ folder.
OS X Mountain Lion- Drag and drop.
If you have a backup of your MBP, then you can use it to restore the /Home/Music/iTunes/ folder to the MBA. -
I've even tried only having the iPad mini on the router but that's not even worked. Safari works but the apps are the worst and its what I use most.
Hi Friends,
I found the solution for this problem (because I faced it too): go to Settings>>General>>Reset>>Reset Internet Settings (the third option in IOS 6).
Five minutes later my iPhone 4S works fine again.
If the issue persists, forget the wifi connection, then sign in again.
Hope it helps -
Can I set up wireless internet and a wireless printer at the same time?
I have an AirPort Express configured already which allows wireless access to the internet (as it is connected to my broadband router) but can I also configure it to allow wireless printer sharing at the same time?
I would appreciate an answer on this as I have been unable to determine it so far.
Many thanksThe Express has a single Ethernet port, whereas, the Extreme has four would be one of most distinguishing feature differences. Obviously size differences would be #1. (ref: Identifying AirPort Hardware)
When connected directly another router, you have (effectively) two routers in series. In this configuration, the AirPort Express would need to be reconfigured as a bridge. This will allow the broadband router to provide both NAT & DHCP services for all the wired/wireless clients connected to either router. -
OS:Windows XP
Also, before updating, I used to go into the browser cache and copy the temporary file for a video (detected by refreshing the cache window) to another folder when the vid was finished playing, then I would add the .flv extension and *snap* I have the video saved. The cool thing about this was that I could skip forward in a video such as a news program to the segment I want, whereas with video downloaders I must save the whole thing. Since updating, the cache folder is full of dozens of folders, which each contain folders, which each contain multiple temp files, so it's MUCH harder to snatch the temp file without using the search feature specifying the date and size. The cool thing about this was that I could skip forward in a video such as a news program to the segment I want, whereas with video downloaders I must save the whole thing. I'd be grateful if anyone has any suggestions regarding this, but my main question is about video quality. For informational videos, the poor resolution and murky sound is a tolerable trade-off for having no delay or buffering, but for concert videos this is intolerable and it would be worth waiting for better quality. Is there any way to adjust the quality if the site itself doesn't offer that option?Sounds like you did this on the fly.
MM is supposed to open the Marker Panel Dialogue
M just sets a marker
Not sure if either are intended for on the fly during playback .
There is also a Marker Icon on the Source Window Pane >> -
My wife and I have one Apple ID through which we have individually purchased apps for her iPad and my iPad 2. We both now have individual iCloud accounts, and she now has an iPhone. For business reasons we now have to separate the apps under our individual iCloud accounts, but will maintain a single Apple ID for purchases. How can we separate the apps?
Hi Shadow,
The apps are forever tied to the Apple ID that they were purchased under. Your iCloud accounts are also Apple IDs, so although you can sync the apps to your individual device via iTunes, you will be syncing them to the devices, not to iCloud.
Since you are still purchasing everything under one Apple ID, then I'm presuming that they live in a single iTunes library on your computer or Mac? If that is the case, then you would just want to:
Hook up a device to the Mac or computer
Select the device when it shows up under devices
Once selected, the Device Profile screens display to the right - click on the Apps tab, and select which ones you want on that device.
Also check all the other profile pages to make sure they are set up to sync the things you want to sync to that device.
On the info page, you will see that you can sync Contacts & Calendars via iCloud or via iTunes. If you want a single source for contacts & calendars for both of your devices, sync them via iTunes. If you want your own sets of contacts & calendars, sync them via iCloud.
Do you have iCloud set up on the computer or Mac? If so, which iCloud account are you planning on using?
Some of the decisions you will want to make will depend on how you have your computer or Mac configured in conjunction with iTunes. One Apple ID, but one or two User Accounts for the computer or Mac? iCloud on the computer or Mac? What do you want to share and to not share?
Post back with any questions.
Cheers,

Apple tech so far hasn't helped except to advise me to get manuals online that Sony doesn't post on its website. I've sent off an inquiry to Sony but don't expect an answer. Apple assumes my devices are bluetooth but the iPad2 hasn't figured out how to discover them, and I don't know how to make them discoverable. I'd like to have the option to use them but so far haven't been able to figure out how.
Heidi-
On the iPad, go to Settings-General-Bluetooth. Set Bluetooth to ON and a new window appears while the iPad searches for Bluetooth devices.
To get the keyboard into a discoverable mode, you may need to remove its batteries for a while. If it is not possible to get it to appear on the iPad, could the keyboard be defective? Can it be discovered by other computers?

Is there a way to roll ab roll and cut between the two as in final cut pro which has multi clip
Is there a way to AB roll as in Final Cut Pro which has multi cut
There is another workaround that enables you to see 2, 3 or 4 videos simultaneously and make decisions about where to cut from one to another. It's not the exact same thing as FCP's multiclip feature but it does work.
Download & install Piero's QuarterPIP filter. Place each of your videos on a separate track (up to 4). Apply the QuarterPIP filter to each, placing each video on a separate quadrant of the canvas. (You may have to sync their placement on the track if there is common audio among them.)
You can then play the timeline and see all 4 videos simultaneously in the Canvas. You can then place markers and make cuts & deleted unwanted portions of selected tracks as desired. The limitation is that you can't just cut from one track to another on the fly as you can in FCP - you have to actually cut & delete the portions of the video tracks that you don't want in the final video.
When you are done you can remove the QuarterPIP filters and will be left with one resulting video. -
my ipod needs to get closer to a router to get a better signal and why is that. But my other devices like iphone ipad connet from anywhere in the house to our internet.how do i fix my ipod so i wont have to get close to a internet router to get a better wi-fi signal like other normal devices.
If you have that problem with all networks that tends to indicate that the antenna connection is lose.

... plus two calls to Apple support and still nothing.
The Powerline adapters mentioned by edex67 are your only hope if you cannot run an Ethernet cable.
Even if the home and office are on the same electrical circuit, you won't really know how well the Powerline adapters might work until you actually try them out at your location.
For that reason, it would be a good idea to understand the store's return policy before you buy.
