Which is better? The i-pod or Creatives mp3 playe

I am conducting a survey and I just wanted to know what everyone think. Is the I-pod better than Creatives mp3 players? If it is, why. Also, why is Creative mp3 players better. Thanks for your contribution.

iPods are nice and have a good amount of features. The iTunes online store is fantastic; very easy and nicely priced. You can't fault Apple for what they've been able to do- grab the mindshare for the MP3 market.
However, I have to side with the- SHOCK- WMA side of things.
The problem I wound up having with iTunes is that, if I want to choose a player for my purchased tunes, short of burning/ripping, was to buy an iPod.
However, buying with WMA, you have more choices, and you're not locked in. In fact, when I decided to change MP3 players, I went from a Zen Xtra to a Zen Touch. I really like the Creative brand. The interface is easy, I find, and I don't think Creative Mediasource is the dog that some have made it out to be. I looked at the Samsung YH-925GS, an Ipod (20GB), Zen Micro, and Rio Karma. I kept coming back to the Zen Touch. I think it looks great, handles great, has awesome battery life, is CHEAPER, and is the right size, both physically and with disk space.
So, yes, Creative is better.

Music purchased on ipad wont play on computer. I get a message which says that the computer is not authorised to play the track but when I enter the password I get the message saying that the computer is already authorised. I have the opposite problem transfering some but not all music from computer to ipad. Can anyone help?

Interesting. Maybe it is more of a DRM issue than an Apple ID ownership issue. There is actually an iTunes Support section here on the discussion boards. If you wish to continue troubleshooting, you might post your question over there and refer to this discussion thread. You can also contact someone in Apple iTunes Support.

• Which is better Apple Ear Pods vs. In Ear Earbuds

So which is better? I can't really tell the difference because there like the same. Unless I'm not paying attention to the bass and tremble.

Haven't tried multiple EAR files before but encountered constraints when using one EAR file.
For example, we may need to wait for another colleague to complete his portion on programming so that we can proceed to implement the entire EAR file. Is this also a constraint for multiple EAR files application ?
If we can separate the EAR files into different modules, different colleagues can work on different modules concurrently. It could be more efficient... Is that the case ??

• Which is better, the Apple TimeCapsule or the WD MyCloud for backing up pixs and datas?

I am not too sure which is better for backing up my pixs that i have saved and dont want to lose them,am thinking which would be best for me to purchase?the apple timecapsule or the wd mycloud,i heard great things about both but not sure from someone who got experience,so could u help me out and tell me which is better and why?
thanks in advance...

Backup is backup. Doesn't matter how you do it, but that you do it.
Given the choice you posited I would choose the Time Capsule if you want to use Time Machine. If you wish to use third-party backup software then you can only use the WD. It comes with its own proprietary backup software. Or you can go another direction and avoid cloud/network backup which is very slow.
Basic Backup
For some people Time Machine will be more than adequate. Time Machine is part of OS X. There are two components:
1. A Time Machine preferences panel as part of System Preferences;
2. A Time Machine application located in the Applications folder. It is
used to manage backups and to restore backups. Time Machine
requires a backup drive that is at least twice the capacity of the
drive being backed up.
3. Time Machine requires a backup drive that is at least double the
capacity of the drive(s) it backs up.
Alternatively, get an external drive at least equal in size to the internal hard drive and make (and maintain) a bootable clone/backup. You can make a bootable clone using the Restore option of Disk Utility. You can also make and maintain clones with good backup software. My personal recommendations are (order is not significant):
1. Carbon Copy Cloner
2. Get Backup
3. Deja Vu
4. SuperDuper!
5. Synk Pro
6. Tri-Backup
Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on backup and restore. Also read How to Back Up and Restore Your Files. For help with using Time Machine visit Pondini's Time Machine FAQ for help with all things Time Machine.
Although you can buy a complete external drive system, you can also put one together if you are so inclined. It's relatively easy and only requires a Phillips head screwdriver (typically.) You can purchase hard drives separately. This gives you an opportunity to shop for the best prices on a hard drive of your choice. Reliable brands include Seagate, Hitachi, Western Digital, Toshiba, and Fujitsu. You can find reviews and benchmarks on many drives at Storage Review.
Enclosures for FireWire and USB are readily available. You can find only FireWire enclosures, only USB enclosures, and enclosures that feature multiple ports. I would stress getting enclosures that use the Oxford chipsets especially for Firewire drives (911, 921, 922, for example.) You can find enclosures at places such as;
1. Cool Drives
2. OWC
3. WiebeTech
4. Firewire Direct
5. California Drives
6. NewEgg
All you need do is remove a case cover, mount the hard drive in the enclosure and connect the cables, then re-attach the case cover. Usually the only tool required is a small or medium Phillips screwdriver.

• Which is better, the Hip-E, or the Mega PC Series?

A new computer was released last week that takes aim directly at kids. It's called the Hip-E, and you can check it out here: http://www.hip-e.com
So, the question is, which do you like better the Mega PC or the Hip-E. (assuming both work perfectly per specificaions)

The specs for the Hip-E are here: HIP-E Specifications
And here is a link for the video card, looks like it's an ATI 9700: M11 Video Card
In regards to price, don't forget that Hip-E is shipping with a LCD based monitor, which isn't cheap. Not that I'm advocating it, personally I don't like the design of the Hip-E.

• Which is better the 1st g or 2nd generation ipod touch

I like to know which is better and last longer and wont have much issues
A. 1st g ipod touch
or
B. 2nd genertion ipof touch
I like to know I dont know which one I want, and I like to hear it from a person who know what there talking about and who knows alot about ipod touch
reply back real soon
I need to know

Hello,
It really depends on your own wants/needs. When the price of the refurbished touch dropped down to $199, I went ahead and purchased it, and so far, I don't regret it or want the 2nd generation (which I have seen and played with).
The main differences with the 2nd generation include a built-in Nike+ receiver (Nike+ is pretty much an iPod-integrated pedometer that works with just the Nano so far), external volume controls, and an internal speaker for "casual listening" (meaning that it doesn't really have that great of volume/audio quality, but the headphones are just as good as any other iPod).
I don't think at this stage we can determine which will have a longer, overall life expectancy. After all, the 2nd generations have only been around since the 9th of this month, and the 1st generations are roughly a year old at this point. Not really a fair comparison.
Regarding issues you might experience... several users on this forum have reported Wi Fi issues with the 2nd generation, but, keep in mind that this is generally a support forum, so most of what you see on here will be issues looking for resolution. I haven't had any issues with the 1st generation that I haven't been able to solve by a simple reset.
Hope this is helpful

• Processors in Creative MP3 playe

Which processors do the various models use?

If it matters... All Dell DJ's use the same processor made by Creative: CA0206-IAG
When opened up the processor has 2 markings for CA0206-IAG and right below is 4A-39A2E6WX, I think this is a serial number as this varies by model.
Also they use a NEC USB Controller D72022F[/url]
Pic of the processor:

I have tried to find more information about this processor but so far nothing came up. This is the same processor used on the Gen and Gen 2 DJ's. The Gen DJ's dont have a PlaysForSure firmware, but the Gen 2 DJ's do and they are still using the same processor. This might be the same processor that a Zen Xtra or Zen Touch might use since they are very similar to each other. Not sure about the newer Zen Micro's or Sleek's. But maybe someone will open one up Message Edited by DM on 2-3-2005 0:02 AM

• Are you regretting your creative mp3 playe

hey i read some post on how people were regreting ever buying creative mp3s...and most ppl seem to be considering..ipods... DONT!!!!! bad mistake i have a creative n200 and a ipod shuffle they both have same memory but the ipod is soo hard to use..the battrey reads wrong...files dissapear..only last 4 like 3 hours.. i made the biggest mistake wanting an ipod...and yet my n200 works fine..i've dropped it so many times.. and its been thru heck..
check out www.ipodsdirtysecret.com this is the reason i will never use any thing from apple again.. i trusted them

Once I got the hang of how to work my Zen Micro 5G I loved it, and thought it was the best alternati've to the I-Pod. Then I had problems with the battery--then the firmware--now I can't use it at all.
Big complaints:
) Inadequate hands-on instructions: the fact that the instruction manual is not included but had to be downloaded--and you had to KNOW that it had to be downloaded--from their site. May not seem a big deal but I like good step-by-step instructions and problem solving w/o having to always go online. A manual accompanying the player would have saved me a headache or two.
2) Battery charging: Zen's tech support told me that it was bad to leave the player plugged in to the charger for too long, that it would hurt it. Well, that rings kind of false--my b-friend keeps his I-Pod in his charger all teh time and he's never had a problem with it. Same with our cell phones and cordless phones, and dustbuster and all other products.
3) Key pad too sensiti've--enough said there.

• Creative MP3 Play

Dont buy one. The 2 I had just broke and I got the run around from Creative Labs cost more to fix than buying another one. Save yourself the headaches. There all over priced junk. To Creative Labs dont forget to take down my message so no one else can read it. You do want to suck somemore money from other people dont you.

I think these do actually work, but the problem is having enough people who are un-sceptical enough to do it. Otherwise it's too much hassle.
There was an article about these kind of sites on the BBC as well, so don't try and shout at me saying they're scams. Basically they're new ways of companies to advertise products as there's a reward for the person.

I don't see anything in there that should give someone cause to "avoid Creative".
I don't think that this will be a constructi've topic at all, and will probably just result in bashing, so I'm closing it.

• Use of two Creative MP3-Play

Hello community,
is it possible to use two Creative MP3-Players (Zen touch(20GB) + Zen micro) on one PC? I don't want to upload the same music on both players.
Thanks for your Answers!
P.S.: Sorry for my bad english, I'm from Germany
edit: I want to use the automatic actualisation for the files and this is only possible with the "Creative MediaSource Organizer". Is there the possibility to have different profiles for the two players?Message Edited by GoldenEi on 04-3-2006 02:26 AM

I have a Zen Touch and a Creative Muvo and you can connnect them both at the same time on media source. I have no problems with it. As long as you have the latest version for the micro I can't see a problem.

• Why we love our Creative mp3 play

Alright, we all know that there are problems with various mp3 players....but let show some love for Creative. Post what you love about your Creative mp3 player!

I've had a 5 Gb Zen Micro for about 8 months now. It's my second DAP.
I returned my Sony MiniDisk in frustration after two days. Its software, copying restrictions [it wouldn't let me burn a copy of tracks that my son's band did onto my CD-R] and the incredibly long time it took to transfer tracks was too much for me.
There was a learning curve for the Zen Micro at first. For a week or two I seriously contemplated returning it, too. All the horror stories on the forum of dead players, faulty jacks made me doubt my purchase.
I stuck with it though, and am glad I did.
The key deal-breaker for me on the iPod was the non-replaceable battery.
There's a certain 'holier than thou' attitude that seems to go with the iBorg that always put me off, too.
Great sound: check
FM radio: check
Features galore: check
User-friendly: check
Replaceable battery: check
All in all, it's a superior value for me.Message Edited by skb on 0-0-2005 07:37 PM

I've bought from them several times for various cell phones and my new Blackberry. They sell them in sets of 3 for about $6.50 for the set. You can also look on ebay for these things.
Good luck and if anybody orders from here, please post so others will know the results.
I'm having trouble looking for them on ebay. I don't what to search for. I kept typing in anti-glare protectors for mp3 players, but there no results.

• Older Firmware for Creative MP3 Play

can one of the admins and moderators post where to obtain the older firmwares for their mp3 player lines. I'm one upset customer and the support is non existant to appauling.

When firmwares are updated, all the older versions don't usually stay up on the website. Is there a particular reason you need an older version? What is wrong with the player, and did you contact Customer Support (your post wasn't clear if you were referring to Customer Support or "support" in general).
