Which is the best software to convert the video files for itouch?

I got a 3rd gen itouch. Is there any software that helps to convert the video files. so I can sync those files to my itouch. " Handbrake " used to work pretty good. but now i still can convert the video files to m4v format but itunes doesn't allow me to put those files in. Please Help!

You may have different menu options than Half bit Bit Ah. The support page on how to do it is at https://support.apple.com/kb/TS1497. In part it says:
If you did not purchase videos from the iTunes Store, they are may not be in a format that you can play on your iPhone/iPod. In many cases, you can convert them to the correct format using iTunes or QuickTime.
* Using iTunes: Select a video and choose Advanced > Create iPod or iPhone Version
* Using Mac OS X v10.6: Open the video in QuickTime Player and choose Share > iTunes and then select the iPhone & iPod option.
Hope that helps!

Which is the best software to convert dvd to IPad 2d

unfortunately discussing the breaking of the encryption that comes with commercial dvd's is prohibited in these forums. however a quick google search will get you to quite a few software providers....
on a personal note, i don't agree with the fact that we can't "legally" transfer dvd's because breaking the encryption is considered illegal, even though the "fair use act" has said that copying dvd's for personal use or for backup purposed is considered legal. it's just the software to do that isn't. i'm not one who would rip a dvd then make multiple copies to make a financial gain. i just want to be able to convert my "old" media into a format that meets my current needs.
good luck my friend on your search. i really wish i could help you more

  • I've recently downloaded Wondershare software and converted many video files. I'm in the process of creating a movie and imovie keeps quitting on me. Wondering if there is a problem with Wodershare imac conpatibility?

I recently purchased Wondershare software. I've converted many video files and made a movie. imovie quitting. Wondering if there is a problem with Wondershare and imac compatibility. Any thoughts?
    Rick

Not sure about the codec- Wondershare asked where I was sending to in setup and I selected imovie. It did the rest. I have been successful with editing on storyboard, but imovie (09) quits when I attempt to view project full screen, or prepare the movie for sharing. I have removed some files (to ensure headroom), and have installed most recent updates.

  • What is the best practise to provide a text file for a Java class in a OSGi bundle in CQ?

This is probably a very basic question so please bear with me.
What is the best way to provide a .txt file to be read by a Java class in a OSGi bundle in CQ 5.5?
I have been able to read a file called "test.txt" that I put in a structure like this /src/resources/<any-sub-folder>/test.txt  from my java class  at /src/main/java/com/test/mytest/Test.java using the bundle's getResource and getEntry calls but I was not able to use the context.getDataFile. How is this getDataFile method call to be used?
And what if I want to read the file located in another bundle, is it possible? or can I add the file to some repository and then access it - but I am not clear how to do this.
And I would also like to know what is the best practise if I need to provide a large  data set in a flat file to be read by a Java class in CQ5.
Please provide detailed steps or point me to a how to guide or other helpful resources as I am a novice.
Thank you in advance for your time and help.
    VS

As you can read in the OSGi Core specification (section 4.5.2), the getDataFile() method is to read/write a file in the bundle's private persistent area. It cannot be used to read files contained in the bundle. The issue Sham mentions refers to a version of Felix which is not used in CQ.
The methods you mentioned (getResource and getEntry) are appropriate for reading files contained in a bundle.
Reading a file from the repository is done using the JCR API. You can see a blueprint for how to do this by looking at the readFile method in http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/jackrabbit/tags/2.4.0/jackrabbit-jcr-commons/src/main/java /org/apache/jackrabbit/commons/JcrUtils.java. Unfortunately, this method is not currently usable as it was declared incorrectly (should be a static method, but is an instance method).

  • I need help figuring out the best way to convert analogue video to DV so that I can edit it.

I have a large number of VHS and hi8 tapes that I want to convert to high quality DV.
I have a couple of options. One is an Elgado Video capture system.
The other is a Sony Digital Media Converter Box (DVMC-DA2).
I have tried a few of the less important tapes using the Elgado Video Capture system. It only allows you to convert to MPEG4 or H.268. It is not very good quality, especially for archival items or items I would later wish to edit.
I also have the Sony Digital Media Converter Box. I have heard that this is a superior option. So far, though, I have only been able to figure out how to import using an old version of iMovie HD. This makes a large imovie project file (approximately 6.18GB for a 28:30 clip vs a 348.9MB for an MPEG4 using delgado.
On top of that to convert the file from an iMovieProject file to DV is an additional step that so far looks like will take a half an hour at best.
Is there any way for me to import VHS/hi8 tapes using the Digital Media Converter Box to creat high quality DV files directly? If so, where can I find this info? What steps should I take and what are the settings I should use.
I have a lot of tapes so I want to figure out the right and most efficient way to do this because I will be repeating it a bunch of times and would hate to have to start over again.
I should also mention that I am using a Mid 2010 MacBook Pro, with OSX 10.9.1
I'm sorry in advance if this seems like an obvious question, but I have been googling and looking at tutorials on the site and just have not found the answer. There are a lot of ads for expensive low quality services to do this converting for you, so maybe the answer I am looking for is burried in all that advertising.
    Thanks

Thanks Biggles and Gotz. I just couldint find capture, but now I can! (It was right under my nose too).
I'm trying it now and it appears to be working. Do you have any other recommendations for capturing from hi8 video source as far as setting go? I am using DV to capture. Are there any other settings I should pay attention to?
There is an extra line of video noise at the bottom, but when I google it, it sounds like it won't show on most standard tvs and if I want to fix it for online, that I should mask it after the fact vs scaling up the video.

  • What is the best method to parse a java file for function names

    st="class";
    while (StreamTokenizer.TT_EOF != tokenizer.nextToken ())
       if (StreamTokenizer.TT_WORD == tokenizer.ttype)
        if (tokenizer.sval.toLowerCase().equals(st.toLowerCase())){
        System.out.print (tokenizer.nextToken() + " "); //prints the class name on the console
        fileOut.print (tokenizer.sval + " "); //prints the class name to a file
}The above program searches a .java file for classes. I want to modify it so that it searches for function names as well. After several hours of figuring out various ways to do it with StreamTokenizer, I still havnt found a way. There seems to be no way to go back, i.e. no previousToken method, in StreamTokenizer.
Is it possible to do search for using StreamTokenizer, and are there easier ways of doing it?

Simple string tokenizing isn't an effective way to do this. You probably want something like ANTLR.

  • What's the best way to trim a video file?

I have a big mov file (143 GB). I just need to trim a part of that file quickly. I tried to trim and save it as an mp4 but the quality turned out awful. I just trimmed and saved it as an mov but it's taking forever. Is there any quicker way I can do this?

Hello and Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Email isn't really designed for large file transfer and so most videos of a few minutes or more at an acceptable quality can't be sent.
Sign up for a free YouTube account and upload the video and set it as private. You can then invite people to watch the video.
If the person on the other end needs to be able to edit the video then I'd suggest snail mailing a CD/DVD.
If quality isn't an issue then you can use the Export options in Quicktime Pro to make the video file size small before you email it.

  • Convert QuickTime Video Files for Offline Viewing

How can I convert QuickTime files for offline viewing?

Even with QuickTime Pro, it is possible to protect a QuickTime video file from being downloaded directly. But, if it's not specifically protected, QuickTime Pro will allow you to download many QuickTime videos.
If you come across a video that is protected, you may be able to use a utility like to record the video as it's playing on your screen and then save it as a stand-alone file.

  • Converting a video file for Final Cut

I am having trouble figuring out how to convert an existing mpeg or ripping a non copyright DVD so that the resulting file can be played back in Final Cut without any rendering needed. Many conversion apps will output to DV or MOV, but when I bring them in, they need to be rendered before playing. What do I need to do use, and what settings, to make the file play perfectly in Final Cut, without the need to render at all?
    Thanks.

The tutorial was really clear and good. Here's the link to it for others who may want it directly. http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2059475&tstart=0
It deals with converting VOB, but it's the same deal no matter what you are converting. My only question is he was using PAL, so for NTSC, I used Apple DV/DVCPRO - NTSC. It worked, but just want to be sure that his is correct.
I'll never understand what the difference is between a DV file and an MOV file for this purpose. I read somewhere else that DV should be avoided and that MOV is better, but that's not what Nick is saying. Any thoughts?

  • What is the best app to convert MTS videos to MP4?

I'm looking for a good and high quality program that can convert MTV format to one the iMovie can read.

why do you want to 'convert' it?!

  • Best way to compress a video file for burning a Bluray disc?

I just got an OWC Mercury Pro external Bluray burner that came bundled with Roxio Toast 11 Titanium.  I'm editing with
FCP6 as part of FCS2 and my version of Compressor is 3.0.5 so no "Share to Bluray" template is part
    of the default options.
    The default Compressor options are:
DVCProHD 720p24     (the footage was shot and edited using this codec)
    HD DVD H.264 60 minutes
    HD uncompressed 8-bit or 10-bit
I've also considered exporting a Quicktime .MOV file and letting Toast do the compressing.
    Thanks for your help!

I feared you might come back and mention juddering. Is this more noticeable when panning?
Are you observing this from your Bluray burner into your Mac, or through a Bluray Player into a TV?
If from Bluray Player/TV then you may have to select the Motion Interpolation mode on your TV.
    From Wikipedia
    Names of motion enhancement technologies
The commercial name given to motion interpolation technology varies across manufacturers, as does its implementation.
    Hitachi – Reel120[2]
Insignia – DCM Plus, for Digital Clear Motion 120 Hz, or Insignia Motion 120Hz
    Kogan Technologies – MotionMax 100 Hz,[3] 200 Hz
    LG – TruMotion 120 Hz, 240 Hz, 480 Hz
AOC – Motion Boost 120 Hz
Bose - VideoWave III 120 Hz (Not named)
Loewe – Digital Movie Mode (DMM)[4]
    Mitsubishi – Smooth 120 Hz
Panasonic – Intelligent Frame Creation (IFC) 24p Smooth Film (24p material only)
Philips – HD Digital Natural Motion,Perfect Motion Rate[5]
    Samsung – Auto Motion Plus 120 Hz,[6] 240 Hz, Clear Motion Rate 100 Hz, 200 ,HZ 400 , 500 , 600 , 800  (PAL video system), Clear Motion Rate 120 , 240 , 480 , 600 , 720 , 960  (NTSC video system)
Sharp – Fine Motion Enhanced,[7] AquoMotion 240 Hz,[8] AquoMotion Pro
    Sony – MotionFlow 100 Hz, 100 Hz PRO (XBR series, Australia), 120 Hz, 200 Hz, 240 Hz, 400 , 480 , 800 , 960 .[9][10]
    Toshiba – ClearScan 120 Hz, 240 Hz
    Vizio – SmoothMotion [11]
Sceptre – MEMC (Motion Estimation/Motion Compensation)
I play around with HDV which is Interlaced , you are dealing with Progressive.
If I maintain the workflow as Interlaced then I do not get judder for Bluray via Toast, irrespective of Motion Interpolation ON or OFF.
If I export/Share in a Progressive mode , say 1080P AIC, then the only way to stop judder is to select Motion Interpolation on the TV.
Also I find that Progressive gives a slight grainy texture to the video which may be what some call 'FILM LIKE"
but I am not a fan of it's appearance.
As I maintain Interlacing in all that I do then I do not have to worry about what my TV is set to and more importantly nor that of any friends that  I happen to do Discs for.(not very often)
I have also played around in ensuring that I am judder free for any DVDs that I do.
The following give me judder free DVD for TV set to Motion Interpolation OFF .
    DV interlaced into iDVD
HDV interlaced into iMovie (converted into AIC on import) Shared as AIC 1080i (size 1920x 1080 HD) then into Compressor-DVD Best quality and then into Toast for burning DVD.
I can of course use HDV in iMovie but the export used for use  in iDVD will give me judder if the TV Motion Interpolation is set to OFF but no judder if set to ON. And, strangely, exactly the same for iMovie HD 6 .
Is it possible that the majority of people who are satisfied with their iDVD videos  have their Motion Interpolation set to ON and those that are not satisfied have their Motion Interpolation set to OFF ?
Are you able to experiment with any Interlaced footage? Can your camcorder be set to record Interlaced. If so then you may be able to establish whether or not the issue is down to Interlaced versus Progressive.
Not trying to rub salt in the wound,( but trying to give you encouragement ) but it is possible to produce really good quality DVDs and Bluray.
Would be interested to know how you get on.

What is the best software/plugin for converting Quark files to Indesign?
I don't want to upgrade to the latest Quark now i've got CC so going to make the leap to indesign only. Does Indesign auto convert or do I need anything else?

ID does not load QXD files. There is a respective commercial third-party plug-in to that effect, but it's rather pricey and I'm not up to speed which versions of Quark and ID it supports and which features come over. Inquire in the ID forum.

In trying to html5 compliant I want to convert my video files to the .ogg format. After a lot of searching for video converters, I cannot find one that does this; although several claim to but actually don't. Converting audio isn't so much of a problem. So, can you suggest a tool for converting video files to .ogg format?

  • What is the best software to record DAT tape to computer?

    Hi guys,
I have some old DAT recording of my rock band from 1971-74. I want to transfer the DAT to my Macbook Pro retina. My plan would be to hit the "play" button on the DAT and record the whole tape to the MacBook Pro...and then go back, separate the songs I want to keep and add some EQ and compression (if I can figure out how that works ). I have the setup ready to go from a Behringer UCA222 from the DAT into USB on the MacBook Pro. I also plan to send the recording to my external thunderbolt HD. And I probably want to save the recordings at a higher quality and then to mp3.
What would you suggest would be the best software to use to transfer on a project like this?
I don't have Logic, and don't want to spend the $ for this project. I am looking at using GarageBand, but don't know if that eats up too much HD space and computer processing. I've read that Audacity might be an option, but not sure how the quality would compare to GarageBand.
Any other suggestions or comments would be really appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Bob

I use to face this issue every now and then (as a freelancer) when I use to cut on FCP7.
if the material is DV and was captured using Sony VEGAS, Premiere or Edius, the footage generally worked fine. You'll find most people will tell you to convert it regardless, however I found no issues working with them.
A problem you'll definitely face is HDV material. Most PC editing software write HDV in their own codec, which can't be read in FCP.
The only thing I can think of is to try converting HDV meaterial to QuickTime using something like MPEG Streamclip, or something similar.
    Good luck
