Which is the better converter for mts and mpg files?

Ok, I just have a quick question regarding conversion software. Does anyone know which is better...PAVTUBE or CLIPWRAP2? Besides the cost...pavtube is cheaper. Which one is faster and offers the best quality? OR is there even a better one out there? I have mts files and mpg files I'd like to convert for use in FCP 6.

  • Which is the better format for message handling - flat files or SOAP?

We have the possibility to specify from our EDI partner how to send messages into XI. We can ask them to send the messages in as SOAP or flat files.
Is there a definite preference for one format over the other? Can somebody advise with reasons?
    BR,
    Tony.

    >>We have the possibility to specify from our EDI partner how to send messages into XI. We can ask them to send the messages in as SOAP or flat files.
I would strongly suggest you go with SOAP rather than File.
Reason : In case of file, the EDI partner will send a file to a machine in your network where FTP server is running and you make your XI server poll the particular folder every 10 min or so. But in case of SOAP, the <b>communication is real time</b>. Your EDI partner can invoke either the SOAP adapter directly or send a SOAP msg directly to Integration Server.
    Just my ideas.

  • How does one change the font size for folders and/or file lists in the Bookmarks Library?

How does one change the font size for folders and/or file lists in the '''Bookmarks''' Library?
Since the upgrade to version 9.0.1 of Firefox, the Bookmarks feature changes are confusing me. They seem to be confusing themselves as well. The list of bookmarks has changed. The font size is so small that my aging eyes cannot read it without fogging the screen with my breath. Some folders are out of alphabetical order (where I know they were previously good), and some are missing altogether (folders to which I frequently add references).
As for missing or deranged files or folders, was there something that I should have done or now need to do to recover those after the upgrade (or before)?
    With regard to font size,
    1. there is no “Edit Bookmarks” or like option to edit the list in this version
    2. the “zoom” option in the “view” list of functions is greyed out when in “Show All Bookmarks” window
    3. expanding the browser window has no effect on font size
    4. “Preferences” settings for font size has no effect in that window either, including advanced settings
    5. “Help” offers none that I can find.
    Can any of you Help?!?

    Maybe this extension helps:

  • Which is the better one, between AFP and SMB protocol for files' transporti

    Hi,
I'm a newbie here and I have a question for MAC AFP protocol.
For files' transporting, MAC os has AFP protocol, and it also supports SMB protocol. Is there any difference between these two protocols?
Is the AFP protocol better than the SMB protocol , for files' transporting between two MACs, MACs and Windows,or two Windows?

AFP is preferred for Mac -> Mac transfers. It's the native Mac protocol and easiest to maintain.
Windows systems typically don't understand AFP so it's not an option for them. For Windows transfers you should use SMB.
The Mac can talk SMB, too, so if you had to choose only one, and you have Windows clients on your network, then SMB would be the way to go.
You are not limited to running just one, though. It's perfectly valid to have the server talk both AFP and SMB at the same time, letting each client use the protocol it prefers.

  • Which is the better lens for wildlife, sport action canon 70-200 is usm ii series L or Canon 100-400

Which would be a better for wildlife and sport action Canon 70-200  mm is usm ii serie L f/2.8 or Canon 100-400 mm f/4.5-5.6?

On what camera? It makes a big difference depending upon whether you are using full frame or a crop camera.
Also depends upon the particular sports and type of wildlife most commonly involved, how much reach you might need.  Outdoor, daytime sports vs indoor and nightime sports is another key factor.
On a crop camera a 70-200 is generally a lot more usable than it is on full frame, for sports and wildlife. An f2.8 lens and 70-200 might be ideal for indoor sports even with a crop camera. It also might be plenty for large game that can be pretty closely approacted. But for small and more shy wildlife, sports on a  larger playing field, you'll more likely need the 100-400. But as an f4.5-5.6 lens that's going to be more of a daytime-only lens.
The 100-400mm is unusual in that it's a push/pull zoom. This can be particularly fast to use and makes the lens popular among photograhers shooting fast moving subjects such as birds in flight and air shows.
If you give serious consideration to the 70-200/2.8 IS II in combination with teleconverter EF 2X III, I'd suggest renting and trying them toghether first. The reason is that a stronger 2X teleconverter has more effect on image quality than a weaker TC. The specific combination of the 70-200 Mark II lens and the 2X Mark III TC is pretty darned good.... better than the combo earlier versions of each item.  But whether or not it's up to your expectastions is a judgment call only you can make. So it might be wise to rent before you buy, just to be sure.
If instead you start to take a hard look at the 100-400mm, once again you might want to rent it and give it a try. Some people really like the push/pull zoom design. Some don't. (I'm one of the latter...  but to be fair this is largely an old  prejudice from trying to use that type of zoom in the past, long before IS. I always found push-pull zooms hard to get a steady shot with.... But the 100-400's IS goes a long way toward solving that problem.)
And those two really aren't your only choices.
Personally I use a pair of crop cameras (7D), most of the time one fitted with a 70-200, and the other fitted with a 300/4 IS, sometimes in combination with an EF 1.4X II teleconverter. Or, when I don't need to be mobile and can set up a tripod, I'll use a 300/2.8 IS, both by itself and with EF 1.4X II or 2X II teleconverters.
Another possibility is two lower cost lenses... such as a 70-200/4 IS in combination with a third party lens such as the Sigma 120-400 OS or 150-500 OS. Those lenses are considerably less expensive than the 70-200/2.8 II and the 100-400, respectively. You might be able to afford both and still find they meet your needs very well.
I use the 70-200/4 IS, as well as a copy of the first version of the 70-200/2.8 IS, and they are excellent lenses too. No doubt about it, the 70-200/2.8 IS Mark II is top of the heap and exceptionally good... but rest assured those other 70-200s are no slouches.
If using a full frame camera, for large field sports and more distant, smaller wildlife.... better start saving up. You're going to need one or two of the super telephotos, such as the new EF 200-400/4L IS 1.4X that I'm saving up for!
p.s. By the way, if not already doing so you might want to try Back Button Focusing. It's a very popular technique among sports/action and wildlife photographers. I've been using it for years for virtually everything I shoot, and can't imagine using any other method now.

  • Which is the better option for using windows on mac ...parallel or vm ware fusion

i want to use c# ,.net, c++ , on my macbook pro ....which software i should purchase parallel or vmware fusion

They both work well. I like Fusion. Others like Parallels. Still others like VirtualBox.
They all have free trials, VirtualBox is a free product, so try them for yourself and stick with the one that works best for you.
I opted to install Windows using Boot Camp Assistant.

  • Office 365 installed, can't choose Word 2007 as the default program for docx and doc files

I have a client who just installed Office 365 on his Windows 7 PC. He still has Office 2007 installed. He's struggling with the changes in Word 2013 and wants me to uninstall Office 365. I thought I'd just set the default program association for .docx and
.doc programs to Word 2007 but that doesn't seem possible. I can choose Default Programs, Associate a file type etc., and find the .docx extension. The current default is Word (desktop). I highlight the .docx extension and choose Change Program. The older
version of Word isn't listed so I click Browse and find Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\winword.exe. Click OK, OK, OK, etc, but .docx files still open in Word 2013. The Default Program applet evidently sees all versions of Word as the same and refuses
to change the association. How do I accomplish this ridiculously simple task?

Fixed. Used a great little app from NirSoft called
FileTypesMan. The built-in Windows utilities are getting worse by leaps and bounds.

  • I have Firefox 8.0.1 on my Windows XP PC. On my Firefox opening page I still get a warning that I do not have the latest version of Firefox. Which is the latest version for me and from where do I download it?

On the opening page of Firefox, I am constantly reminded (and sometimes warned) that I do not have the latest version of Firefox. Yet, when I click for upgrade, I start getting a download of the same version 8.0.1 which I am already running.

This - http://www.google.com/firefox - is the old Firefox Start Page used by the Firefox 3.6 and earlier versions of Firefox, I don't think it is being maintained.
Starting with the Firefox 4 version, Firefox is using a "local" Start Page with the address of '''about:home'''. It looks similar to the old Start Page, but it isn't exactly the same.

  • Which is the better app for devloping a freelance design website?

    Hey Forum
I'm putting together a website for my freelance design business. I've rough out the site, but now I'm stuck between using Dreamweaver or Flash. The site is relatively simple with the common home, about, philosophy portfolio and contact pages. I know that Dreamweaver is a real workhorse and is very stable. But as a designer I want a little more glitz and freedom which Flash seems to have. If I do use Flash, I'm worried about bandwidth, search capabilities and device compatibilities.
    Any insight would very helpful
    KatyDad

The stability of Dreamweavere will have no little bearing on the stability of your web site--Dreamweaver provides tools, it doesn't teach you how/when to use them.  Your decision on which way to go should be based on what it is you are trying to sell.  If you are selling web site design, then you may want to temper things towards a non-Flash design base so that you can demonstrate your coding skills alongside the graphics aspects of it.  If you are selling Flash-based designs, then Flash would be a good vehicle to demo the work itself.  If Flash is not a big part of what you are selling, then it should not be a big part of what you put on display.  But you can always mix things up, showing Flash elements and html/css elements, if the intention is to show well-rounded skills across the design options palette.
Be prepared for a large swing in differences in the responses.

  • What is the Extraction Ratio for  .CAR and .SAR  File ?

    Hi GURUS,
Does anyone knows :  When I extract 100 KB Size of  CAR ( or SAR ) File ..how many KB it would be ? - We have very limited space
and need to know to go ahead to install the Several Add Ons. Don't have direct access to OS - But, need to give estimate on Paper.
    Appreciate any / all help.
    Thanks,
    Best Regards,

Compression rates differ between the type of the source file. Text files can be compressed pretty good, binary files less. However, there is, AFAIK, not a real "rate" saying that text files can be compressed with a value of 1:N.
AddOns (speaking of ABAP component AddOns) are binary files and are compressed less than text files. The only thing to find that out is to uncompress on another box and compare before - after.

After problems with Power Point crashing down, I downloaded Open Office to save some files on my mac. thanks to Open Office I managed to save the content, but now Open Office seems to become default program to open word, ppt etc. files on my mac. How can I undo this?

Change it from the Open With section of a document's Get Info window, and then use the Change All function.

  • Trouble playing .avi and .mpg files

I'm about ready to throw my Panasonic HDC-TM15 out the window.
I used the camera memory to shoot video files and then uploaded those files onto my work computer, which is an HP. The files came in as .m2ts which would only play in the Panasonic video-editing software. Through this software I was able to convert the files to .mpg.
I decided I wanted to use my new Mac Book Pro to edit the video files so I moved all the files (both .mpg and .m2ts) to an external hard drive and then plugged that into my MacBook. However, the files will not play through quicktime at all. I tried opening some old .avi files and that won't play either.
I'm really fed up and I don't understand why these files (.mpg, .m2ts, .avi) will not play on my macbook. Any suggestions?

Both MTS and MPG files are variations of MPEG; .mts is typically an MPEG-2 Transport Stream while .mpg is typically an MPEG-2 Program Stream (but not always). So you're essentially converting from one MPEG format into another and obviously that doesn't help.
As Jeremy Hansen already suggested, try using MPEG Streamclip (freeware) along with Apple's QuickTime MPEG-2 Playback Component ($19.99 USD) to convert the original MTS files into a codec that your system can play/work with.
Jeremy is also correct about .avi files. AVI is merely a container; the audio and video streams contained within could have been made from any number of codecs, not all are available for a Mac. You could try downloading Perian ( http://perian.org/ ) to see if the added codecs from that package will let you play and/or convert some of the AVI files.

If you are going to be making a lot of brochures, with photos, you probably want both. Photoshop to edit the photos, and InDesign to assemble and layout images with text.

  • Which one is the better cover for protection on tje ipad mini with retina

I  bougth an mini ipad with retina, my 5 years old will use using too. Which one is the better cover for protection?

You'll have to think in terms of a shell rather than just a cover. Main problems are dropping and liquid getting inside. Plus a shell can add a bit of extra heft and "grippability", aiding little hands in holding on the slippery aluminum back. Can add some sort of screen protector to prevent scratches, though that will reduce sensitivity to an extent; however, a direct blow will inevitably shatter the Gorilla Glass.
That being said, I am very happy with the Lifeproof Nüüd case that has protected mine from the get-go. Decided to forego screen protectors in lieu of better touch performance; almost 2 years down the road the screen is still scratch free.

    Thanks.

now, there is very big StringBuffer sb,i want convert
it to String s,which is the better:
    s=sb.toString();
    s=new String(sb);
Thanks.this is the implementation advice for
    toString(StringBuffer)
This method can be coded so as to create a new String object
without allocating new memory to hold a copy of the character sequence. Instead, the string
can share the memory used by the string buffer. Any subsequent operation that alters the
content or capacity of the string buffer must then make a copy of the internal buffer at that
time. This strategy is effective for reducing the amount of memory allocated by a string
concatenation operation when it is implemented using a string buffer.
    so decide urself
