Which is the better for watching movies in the pho...

Hey. Im getting a new phone and I'm wondering which one of
the Nokia 6120 Classic and the Nokia 5310 XpressMusic is best for watching movies in the phone?

The N95 may have a bigger screen than the 6120c, but they both have a pixel count of 240x320. On the N95 the picture is bigger but at lower resolution: 142 dpi on the N95-8 vs 200 dpi on the 6120i.
They're both not suitable for watching movies.

  • Ipod for watching movies at the gym

How do I load movies in mp4 format onto my ipod and watch them at the gym
on the equipment designed to view ipods?
Is there another way to watch movies I own outside of the apple store
    bought movies?

I sure wish somebody would answer this. It might be something very simple,
like the fact that I have changed my default MP4 player, to a GNU player,
perhaps I need to set the default player to QuickTime and then I can load and watch my home movies?
Surely there must be a tool to listen to songs you recorded (like my self hypnosis files that iTunes tells me, "you don't have the rights to listen to (insert my recording) or to watch my home movies?

  • Can I change the volume for watching movies? I have my volume control on my iPad 2 at max

My iTunes downloaded movies is less than max.  It makes it hard to listen in place like an airplane.  I can change the volume for my music and it plays very loud.  The volume control on my iPad2 is max.

If these are purchase movies and not rentals, from iTunes, on your computer, you can select the movie in iTunes, use the key combination command-I to get the info on the movie. A info window pops up. Click the Options tab, a volume slider appears at the top of the window, slide the slider all the way to the the right, click the OK button at the bottom of the window. Then reconnect and sync your iPad, again, to the computer and wait for the movie to update to your iPad, then once everything is complete, eject the iPad from the left hand pane and disconnect. When you play the movie, again, from the iPad, the volume should be louder.
I do not believe you can do this with rented iTunes movies, though as I do not think they are editable as a rental.

  • Can i play the audio for rented movies through the airport express

I'm watching a rented iTunes movie on my Mac and would like the audio to play through my Airport express to my stereo speakers. Can't figure it out.

iTunes won't play the audio through your airport express due to the video and audio being out of sync.

  • Watching movies in the car

Did do a search before but haven't found an answer yet.
I have bought a nice and easy headrest mount for the iPad and would like to use the iPad for the kids to watch movies in the back.
Now the 32GB capacity all of a sudden is not a lot...
So I was thinking if there would be a possibility to store some movies somewhere and still watch them on the iPad.
An idea that came to mind was to have a 12V converter in the car and connect an Airport Express to it and connect a usb drive/stick to it with the movies on it. And watch the videos like that.
No with a bit of searching I found that (at least as far as I found out) the Airport Express is not suitable however the Airport Extreme I have found that it could work (as I haven't found news that it wasn't possible).
The other thing is the app to watch the movies. The App that comes with the iPad only allows movies from the hard drive of the iPad (which was synced with the movies in iTunes)
** (A bit Off topic; but in Belgium there are no movies that you can buy with iTunes (just audiobooks), and a very limited amount of books via iBooks....**
And if I do get it to work do the movies have to be in a special format so that the iPad can show them of the "external" hard drive?
    So short my idea;
    1- 12V - 220V converter
    2- Airport (a version)
3- USB hard drive/USB stick connected to the Airport
4- Have an App get the movie from the external source over WI-FI

The Photos app can obtain movies of certain types through the Camera Connection Kit. So you could put your movie (in a supported format) onto your thumb drive in the \DCIM directory, or do the same with an SD card. Then you could Import the movie and play from your Photos app.
I've done both of these things and gotten beautiful fullscreen video. Plus the Camera Connection Kit requires no extra batteries and is relatively inexpensive.
The downside is that you have to have the movies in non-DRM format, and you have to let Photos import the movie before you can play it.
The upside is that SD cards are pretty cheap, and you don't have to buy high-spec expensive cards to do this. And you might be able to throw some movies onto chips you were going to use for photography anyway (the iPad will offer to delete the movies after import if you like), making your cost very low.

  • Good apps for watching movies??

Any recommendations on good apps for watching movies on the Droid X?
Actually, I intend to convert privately owned movies on DVDs into movie format files and then transfer these files to my Droid X.
So any recommendations on apps for movie/video file players on the Droid X, and any recommendations for apps that convert DVD movies into files that can be watched on the Droid X with a suitabe app?
Multiple suggestions/ratings of different apps would be most welcome!
I hope everyone is enjoying their Droids/Droid X's.
    Take care,

this is the pro version. i use the free version. it's called "any video converter." i have never tried to convert directly from a dvd though. however, i believe they are .avi files? if so, they are supported. it is extremely easy and i love it. but like i said, i've never tried directly from a dvd. so far i've only converted downloads to my devices.
    here's a nice top 10 review:

they all cost $ but i'd think some (like any video converter) have free versions that are slightly stripped down.

I will use Barclays Card for 18 month free interest.
I wil ask Apple clerk to avoid LG monitor.
I will buy those in Apple store.
    Which one will you recommend?

Tha's something you need to decide for yourself.
Do you think you need 16GB of memory or 8 will be enough?
Do you need to carry your macbook around with you more often? if so just get the 13" it's easier to carry.
Or maybe you enjoy watching media on a bigger screen?
As for word processing it shouldn't be a problem on both notebooks.
Also can you afford buying the 15"?
And what about the hard drive capacity?
So my advice is to consider these aspects, make a list of pros and cons and see what you come up with

We are getting ready to purchase the new imac 27" and would like to know which is the best configuration for watching streaming video, the fusion drive or the more expensive flash drive.  We will have a fast fiberoptic internet connection.

the harddisk speed mean nothing when it comes to streaming video from the internet
even the fastests internet using fiberoptics is still much slower then the slowests harddisk you can buy

Thank you for the answer, I suppose the main thrust of my enquiry is to find out if 65 MBits is my ATV theoretical limit of reception.  If that is the case then I am happy as a Pig in Mud
I may have allowed myself to become a victim by listening to Fanbois posting elsewhere who always seem to go one better than everyone else. Now I have learnt two things Today; 65Mbit/s = Good enough and only read the apple forums.
    Many Thanks

Why do you need a expensive MacBook Pro?
Your attending high school and unless everyone else is rich also your likely going to be a target by the more poorer students for theft or damage to the machine.
You could keep it home, but if you need it for class then your exposed again.
Also at that age your not very careful yet, a MacBook Pro is a expensive and easily damaged machine.
Unless your made of money and so are others at your school, I would recommned a low profile, just does the job cheap Windows PC.
If it dies, gets lost, stolen or damaged because of your inexperince handling senstivie electronics then it's no big deal.
You can buy a Mac later on when your sure you have a need for it, currently there isn't much advantage of owning a Mac compared to a PC, they do just about the same things now, one just looks prettier than the other.
Since 95% of the world uses Windows PC's your going to have to install Windows on the Mac in order to keep your skills up there or be unemployed, so it's a extra headache and expense.
    good luck

  • Can you watch movies on the new iPod nano?

I know you can watch movies on the iPod video, but i wasnt sure if i'd be wasting my money on buying a movie from the itunes store and not being able to watch it.
      Windows XP

The iPod nano does not support video. The processor is not strong enough, along with other things.
Also, do not try iPod Linux, even though you might hear that its awesome.
    1. Even iPod Linux does not support iPod nano downloads.
    2. Voids any Warranty you have on yoru iPod.
    3. Not unusual for it to leave your iPod as a large domino, and with no warranty, you're out of luck.
    I hope this helps!

  • HT201335 when i watch movies from the web with airplay on my apple tv stop every 2 minuts

when i watch movies from the web with airplay on my apple tv stop every 2 minuts

I have a similar issue with my Home Sharing.  Everything plays just fine on my Apple TV except when I try to play a movie using Home Sharing.  If I choose the same show or movie from the Purchased section of iTunes it works just fine but nothing ever loads for me on Home Sharing.
Not the exact same issue, but very similar.  Good luck, I'm hoping to learn something here too!

  • Which tool is better for ETL?

I want to transfer data from RLDB to Essbase, there are many method and tools, I don't know which tool is better for my case. Now, what I am doing now is:
    1. Create views in Oracle
    2. Export view to falt file
    3. Import flat file to Essbase using rule file and MaxL import script.
4.The data size: flat file rows 3-4 million, time used: 13 hours
I want to use more powerful ETL tools, such as: Informatica PowerCenter, OBIEE, FDM, EIS, ..., I have basic knowledge for the above tools, but don't know which tool is better for my case? Please advise?

First to streamline your existing process, you could get rid of step 2 and add a odbc connection to the server and Sql statement to the load rule to pull directly from your Oracle database. Of course with the number of rows you have, if you use the same extract multiple times, I would create a table to load into from the view and pull from that table.
As for using an etl (Elt) tool, Informatica is pretty powerful and there is a version of it (although not supported in the future called DIM). I might go the ELT route with ODI(Oracle Data Integrator). In the future I might use OBIEE, but I don't think it fully ready for Essbase until the next version and I don't think it will rank on the same level as a full ETL tool for conversions.

As for EIS, I would not use it, but might use Essbase Studio. (It can use OBIEE as a source) again this is not an etl tool, it would just take youe existing views and load them.
