How do I get the insert option back on the laptop? What is the combination or key to get the Ins Option back on?

How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
What was the original Operating system if it was not XP?
I grasp the insert key is not working on your notebook.
What has changed since it was working?
As it would normally just be part of the keyboard driver you can try uninstalling and reinstalling that driver.
Have you ran MS Fix It to help overcome this issue?
Do you not have an insert key on the notebook keyboard?

SnqKe, there is no Insert key to find for the Mid 2009 MacBook Pro.
Software such as [KeyRemap4MacBook|http://pqrs.org/macosx/keyremap4macbook> can allow the emulation of keys not on the keyboard. If it doesn’t already have an option to emulate an Insert key, the author of KeyRemap4MacBook is quite willing to add new options to the software — he has added a few on my request.
For FlightGear in particular, it comes with its own key binding files, so even without any key remapping software installed, you could modify FlightGear’s data/input/keyboard.xml file to change the key of the script that is normally bound to the Insert key.

What command/key is equivalent to the insert key on a Windows-based PC?

Whenever I type in Microsoft Word, I type over already typed words. I somehow unknowingly pressed a command/key, since Word wasn't like this before. But I did notice that this is the same result of the insert key on a Windows-based PC. The only problem is that I don't think there is a specific insert key on the iBook. So does anyone know the command or key?

Is it possible to use the Insert Key in Illustrator?

I have a massive block of dummy text set up in Illustrator 5 and the easiest way for me to change the dummy text is to overwrite it as one would when using the Insert function.

PC's usually have a physical 'Insert' key located in the same space as Home / Page Up / Page Down / Delete & End. This key allows you to overwrite text as you write. Wikipedia says it best "
The first is overtype mode, in which the cursor, when typing, overwrites any text that is present on and after its current location." < this is what I would like to be a ble to do.

Go to Control Panel/System and Security
You will find the Bootcamp control panel their or if you look in the try on the right hand side just click on the grey diamond !
Click to open Boot Camp and select the Keyboard in the window where you can choose to enable /disable the FN key

I'm afraid there is no insert-key. If you're just going to do some copy-pasting, try command-C for copy and command-V for paste. command-X is for cut.

Could you please tell me if there is way to find out the columns which are part of range partitions of the table. There is a table 'user_tab_partitions' it stores the name of the table and it's partition name. I need to know if there is a similar table/view which stores the partition fields name too.

In my UK keyboard it is the X under F13.

It is unlikely that the OP will come back to answer a post that's nearly two years old. Please post details about your computer (model and Mac OS version) in a new thread within the forum that fits your Mac model. Then detail your symptoms.
FWIW, this forum is for older iMacs made before 2006 that cannot run current Mac OSX versions. Doing "About this Mac" from your Apple menu will show two useful bits of info: the Mac OS version and your processor description. If you don't know your model, that gives us a start in figuring out what you have.

How to insert a record which has a forgien key using Hibernate?

I have two Tables called User, Location. User has a foreign key "location_id" which is the primary key of Location.
The Location has already a record with location_id = 1.
Now I want to insert a new record to User table by Hibernate as follows:
Session session= this.getSession(); Location location = new Location(); location.setLocationId(new Long(1)); User user = new User(); user.setUserAccount("userAccount"); user.setFirstName("firstName"); user.setLastName("lastName"); user.setLocation(location); session.save(user);
The new record was inserted. But the column "location_id" is null (not 1 as I expected).
Could you tell me what is wrong?

Could you tell me what is wrong? Hard to tell without your mapping .hbm.xml. But you don't set the ID, Hibernate manages that.

DM4 Insert Key without pressing the FN key

Regardless of what setting is applied in the BIOS, the insert key always requires a combination of FN+Insert...
Is there any way to configure the keyboard to not require the FN key to get the insert key to work? A lot of apps use the Insert key to add new items (e.g., mind mapping software - insert adds new nodes).
