Which is the mac OS registry location and filename to determine the version of installed firefox?

I have a Mac mini with 10.8.4 installed. I installed firefox 21.0. I'm trying to locate the registry entry (plist) file which contains the version of firefox installed. This file needs to be used programatically.

For programmatical access to the Firefox version see [http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=653489 How to detect Firefox browser version?]
You can access it manually from about:config (but, I am pretty sure, not from the sysytem registry):

I just bought a 2013 late model Mac Book Pro Retina and am wondering if it is worth installing windows through boot camp.
If I install the windows component in order to run an exe file and its component "Declans Korean Flash Cards"... will it make my mac suseptible to viruses overall due to having a windows component? also will it make my mac slower as well

If you are only going to use one or two window only programs then I wouldn't waste the space.  Try WinonX it allows you to install exe. Files on Mac without installing windows.

  • Which of the Versions from Adobe elements has a gradations curve tool.  PSE 10, 12, 13 or which one ?

    Dear community,
which of the Versions from Adobe elements has a gradations curve tool.  PSE 10, 12, 13 or which one ?
    Your comment will be appreciated.

    Yeah right ,
gradients tools are present in all these version
and curves are not present in any of these officially .
Curves are present with their own interface.
One big problem is that you'll never find them logically where they are : under the menu 'Enhance/color correstion', it's the 'adjust color curves' option.
Add to that problem the fact that this kind of adjustment is not about colours (no R,G,B channels) and you'll see why it is missed by everybody.
The interface is meant to help beginners understand how curves work : you choose the effect you want and you see the curve being drawn. Excellent for pedagogy but users of the traditionnal curves manipulations don't understand the new way.
If you want the old curves interface, you can add many free or affordable add-ons like Elements+. The most powerful and free one is the smartcurve plugin for Windows 32 bits.
    Other ideas:
    - if you don't use curves for colour correction, you can use the gradient tool adjustment layer (black to white) in luminosity mode. That's how you deal with curves in adjustment layers. Note that using gradient maps instead of curves is only a graphical way to determine the inflexion points. Same parameters, different inferface.
    - Using curves intensively was the way to edit ten years ago. Now, you can use the ACR basic tag to achieve quickly much better tone and colour correction, that way you won't need curves most of the time.

  • How can I re-install Snow leopard having installed Lion? The disk supplied states that I cannot use the version of 'Install Mac OS X'...HELP!

How can I re-install Snow leopard having installed Lion? The disk supplied states that I cannot use the version of 'Install Mac OS X'...HELP!

None of the instructions usually given for downgrading seems to mention the fact that you will lose some data in built-in applications, including at least Mail. When you installed Lion, your Mail database was converted from the format used by Snow Leopard's Mail to that used by Lion's Mail. There is no way to reverse that conversion. Therefore, you will lose your entire Mail database. If your messages are all stored on a remote server, that may not be an insurmountable problem, but otherwise you'll have to restore from the last backup you made before the upgrade, and then you'll still lose all changes to the database made since that time.
Another fact not often mentioned is that downgrading is usually the worst possible solution to a problem with Lion. But that's the answer to a question you didn't ask.

  • Registry Location and Settings

Acrobat Pro v 7.14 on Windows 7. When I try to set global preferences such as Edit\Preferences\Page Display\ Default Page layout = single page, once I exit acrobat the setting reverts back to the old default setting of Automatic. In fact, none of the settings appear to retain their options once I close out acrobat. I am the Admin and so access rights should not be an issue. Does anyone know where in the registry these settings are maintained? What value\DWORD those KEYS should be in order to select "single page", zoom factor, etc. I can find almost no information on the registry settings for Acrobat. Thanks.

Thanks for the advise. I looked at the Registry Keys and under Win 7x64 there are TWO locations:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\7.0\AVGeneral and HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-1681751190-811817649-2572322518-1000\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\7.0\AVGeneral. I will take a look at them and see if I can figure out what's controlling the specific settings I need. Perhaps using Process Monitor and spending some time tracing the actions will get me where I need to be. Again, thanks for the point in the right direction.
By the way, I have been told by tech support and others that v7 Pro is not officially supported on Windows 7x64 (which is the OS I am running). I made a decision to wait until Adobe came out with a solid 64 bit version before paying for the upgrade and that's not about to happen any time soon so I lowered my expectations and am now waiting for a solid Windows 7 x32 bit version. I'm not sure they have reached that goal as of yet. On a positive note, the Adobe iFilter9 for Windows 7x64 works like a champ, so no complaints there.
The Acrobat 7 Pro (with the updates to v7.14) is satisfactory for my needs and runs crippled under Windows 7, but it does run and I am able to open, view, edit, create, scan into, combine etc. files without much problem. Of course, the PDF Printer port is GONE and intergration into Windows Explorer is missing, but I can live with that for now. For printing I've installed Bullzip PDF printer (http://www.bullzip.com/products/pdf/info.php) a free utility for printing PDF docs and that allows me the latitude to create the PDF files that I then use in Acrobat. Not smooth, but it works for now. (Adobe even has a KB article addressing the PDF Printer Port issue runing Acrobat Pro v7 on Windows 7: but none of the suggestions worked for me...)

  • How do I uninstall firefox6? The version I installed will not work on my Mac OS and is taking up valuable space. Also replaced an earlier version that probably worked. (Cable company guy convinced me to install it.)

    ditto

As of Firefox 4.0 and newer one needs both OSX 10.5+ and a Intel Mac.
As you are using a Intel Mac with OSX 10.4.11 the last version to work will be Firefox 3.6
The current version Firefox 3.6.20 can be found at http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html

  • Location and filename for Mouse  .Prefs in 10.5.3

My corded Mighty Mouse scrolling has been acting weird after installing
the 10.5.3 Combo update. My guess is the mouse prefs may be hosed
and I would like to start over by trashiing the .plist file. I have looked in
both root and user Preferenes and cannot find a mouse.plist file.
I would appreciate someone posting the location and real filename
for the file where the mouse preferences are stored.

    Problem Solved - I hope!
It has been working great for a few hours. I think changing the setting
in the Universal Access/Zoom from ON to OFF did the trick and restting
the SMC had to have helped.
I really did not want to trash the systempreferences.plist file
Heads up if you are having Mouse issues after installing 10.5.3 to check
and be sure the Universal Access/Zoom button is OFF

  • Which are the hearing aid compatible Firefox os devices ?

It would be helpful if the Firefox OS devices specs (mentionedhttps://firefoxosdevices.org/en/#type:all%7Ccoming-devices:no%7Corder:desc) mentioned the HAC (hearing aid compatible) ratings. Here is an explanation for HAC rating : http://www.phonescoop.com/glossary/popup.php?gid=434. Not that I'm being choosy, but the ZTE Open C is the only device available in my country for the time being, and it seems not to be compatible at all (according to the user manual), and I have spent a fair amount of time to scrutinize the specs of other Firefox OS devices. It seems that there is no HAC Firefox OS devices, but I hope I'm wrong.

Hmmm...I could not find HAC information for the Open C either. You may want to contact ZTE directly to ask them.
Does the hearing aid in use have cellphone shielding? If it does, you probably won't have any trouble with the Open C.
Sorry I couldn't offer any better information!

  • Good Morning, Are there any other donotfollow plug-ins or add ons for the version 4 of Firefox? The one available on your site will not work with version 4. Thank you.

I am starting to affiliate market and need a donotfollow plug in or add on and the one available on your site will not work with version 4 of Firefox. Is there another place I can go or do you have another add on that will perform the same function as the do not follow you have on your site for the previous versions of Firefox? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

OK - to answer my own question, Apple recommend 8.2.1, but you can install 9.1.1 and it will run on a G3. Very slowly. Looks like this is the only option. Get it here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1036. You need OSX 10.4.11 or later though....
