Which Java 8 version do I choose to download?

It says I need to update Java but the automatic link takes me only to download 7.51 which I already have.
I know there are links to Java 8 but I am not tech savvy enough to work out which version.
Usually I need to download both a 32 bit and 64 bit version.
Can anyone help me with specific download links or information please.
Thanks in advance.

  • Which 5.o version do I need to download

Just got a new computer.  Putting Desktop Manager on and clicked update button.  I had 4.3, newest version is 5.0, but there are a bunch of different versions.  some with Media Manager.  Which one do I need.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Your basic choice is languange and Media Manager -- both of which depend on your needs. For instance, if you want English with Media Manager, then you'd download:
Desktop Manager 5.0.0 B28 English - With Media Manager
    File name: 500_b028_english.exe
    File size: 222.082 MB
    Date posted: 17-Jul-09
    Download Software
If you need multi-language without Media Manager, then you'd download:
Desktop Manager 5.0.0 B28 Multilanguage - Without Media Manager
    File name: 500_b028_multilanguage_nomediamanager.exe
    File size: 124.079 MB
    Date posted: 17-Jul-09
    Download Software
The stuff further down the page are subsets of the full DTM package -- USB/Modem drivers (with different languages), Device Manager only (with languages), etc. Stick with the Desktop Manager selections at the top of the list and you will get all that you need.

I'm trying to download the SAP NetWeaver 7.0 Java Trial Version. When I start downloading part 1 of the server, the filesize is said to be about 1.677.721.600 bytes. But my download file's size is just 127 MB.

  • Which Java version is recommended for widest compatibility?

I started learning and coding with JDK 1.1_Final, but particular code elements do not seem to be working. For example, overriding update() to not clear the screen and instead only call paint() has no effect at all - the screen still gets cleared! I had hoped to compile using 1.1.x for maximum browser compatibility, but if the language version doesn't work then there's little point in using it. So, with the release of Java 2 and SDK 1.4.x, what are people doing out there to code applets that will reach the widest target audience? I've restricted my HTML code limited to the 4.x browsers or higher, but haven't yet found a listing of which versions of Java are compatible with which versions of browsers. (Sun's FAQ is incomplete in this matter.) So, I'm not quite sure how to balance the compatibility issues and decide which version of Java to use for reaching a reasonable 'maximum' target audience without forcing site visitors to upgrade their browsers for viewing my applets. (I hate sites like that!) So, what version of Java do you use for applets, and why? What browser versions are you compatible with? What other issues should I be considering? Thanks for helping me to select an appropriate Java applet version that will reach the most people.

Which JAVA version is most stable in 1.6 series?

Ideally that would be the latest and greatest available.
In practice, it depends on a whole lot of unknowns. Different JVMs can perform differently on different OSes and with different configs

  • Which Java Version to develop Java-XML Programs

    Hello,
I was wondering if someone could help me figure out which java bundle to download to be able to compile and run java files using the XML parser classes, and also, do I need any third party api's or somthing to use SAX and DOM.
    Sincerely
    Fredrik Grander

do I need any third party api's or somthing to use SAX and DOMSince it doesn't come with Java you are going to need something.
I would suggest finding that first and then getting the jdk/jre that matches the version that it requires.

  • ASDM - which Java version?

    Unable to launch device manager.
I'm trying to run ASDM and targeting a mixture of 5505 and 5510s. I'm using Mac (Yosemite) and Windows 7 machines.
    5505 is 6.2, 5510 is 9.x
    Oh whatever.
    Which Java versions will work?

Due to security reasons you should always update Java to the latest version. So the question is not which Java to use, but which ASDM works with the newest Java.
If you always upgrade your ASAs to the latest ASDM, then you should be able to use the ASDM. At least that works for me (OS 10.10.2 and also Win7).

  • Which java product does one choose?

I'd like to learn java programming and build a small application that can grow later in functionality. Which java product should i use and can it be downloaded and installed for free. J2EE or J2SE or other product? What are the differences?

Download the J2SE Development Kit (JDK) from here: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp
The J2EE is a development kit for enterprise solutions and depends on the J2SE, so you need the J2SE anyway. The JRE is just the runtime environment - you can't build (compile) Java applications with it. The J2SE JDK already has a JRE in it. So you only need the J2SE JDK and .... this link: http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/

    Hi,
Could you please tell me how/where I can get the details of the current java component version running in any system,eg Q2Q or Q2F. Is there any function module/database table from which I can get this information.

    Simple enough....
On the J2EE Engine main page  http:
    <hostname>:<port>/index.html
1 . choose the "System Information" link
    2.  choose the "all components..." link

can anyone help?Search the bugs database to see if someone else already reported this; if not create a new bug entry. Whatever mistake you could make, you should not be getting a NullPointerException as a result so this is at the very least a bug in the error handling of webstart.
But just some observations to try and see if you can make a difference (which is added input for your bug report). If I check JNLP examples, I see that the url specified is usually without a protocol, so it could be like this:
<jar href="/resources/applet/formeditor.jar" />The JNLP should be on the host that you service the jar from, so Webstart can fill in the host information for itself.
Also you provide a main-class; if the jar manifest specifies a main-class (and it should) you don't need to specify it in your JNLP file.
