Which java do I choose?

I've got java working with dos so I thought that may have helped make bluej work...I was wrong.
However I do still want it working even if my efforts are only half hearted now. I
My question:
On the launcher I have the choice of 2 javas:
c:\program files\java\jdk1.5.0_06
and
c:\sun\appserver\jdk
which should I be choosing?

OK.
That's the one I had....
Its working strange, not as much on the total crashes as I used to get (imagination?) but it is working weird. I can compile but then when I go to click on run it decompiles itself...

  • Which java product does one choose?

    I'd like to learn java programming and build a small application that can grow later in functionality. Which java product should i use and can it be downloaded and installed for free. J2EE or J2SE or other product? What are the differences?

    Download the J2SE Development Kit (JDK) from here: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp
    The J2EE is a development kit for enterprise solutions and depends on the J2SE, so you need the J2SE anyway. The JRE is just the runtime environment - you can't build (compile) Java applications with it. The J2SE JDK already has a JRE in it. So you only need the J2SE JDK and .... this link: http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/

  • Adobe Extension signing - which platform should I choose?

    1. I created Adobe Extension using Extension Builder 3  (HTML5 Extension) for Photoshop CC.
    2. I want to buy Code Signing Certificate for it.
    On this site for example https://www.globalsign.com/code-signing/ I have to choose "Platform" form "Supported Platforms" list.
    On that site such list looks like this:
    MS Autheticode
    Adobe AIR
    Apple
    Mozilla & Netscape
    MS Office & VBA
    Java
    Which platform should I choose to sign adobe extension?
    Maybe it does not matter which one?

    illustrator is the one which needs higher components as the other programms, right?
    No, Photoshop is, assuming you are speaking of CS4 and are concerned about hardware accelerated features like the soft zoom or 3D features in PS Extended. Those only work with NVidia or ATI cards. If you can live without those features, it doesn't matter which system you get. The only critical factor then becomes RAM - the more, the better. One word of warning on the way: Make sure, your laptop supports the minimum system requirements in terms of screen resolution. If not, you may not even be able to install the software let alone use it.

    Yes, as new iPhone then restore from backup.

  • Which Java 2 Platform Standard Edition for Windows do I download?

    For SDK for Windows 32 bit,
    There are two options, one is Windows Offline Installation, Mult-ilanguage
    and Windows Installation, Multilanguage.
    Which one do I choose?
    Please reply soon.
    Thanks,
    Sincerely, Egan

    For offline installation you can download that file and keep it for further use and then install it any time you want.
    If you go for other one you need to keep in connected ti internet b'coz that is online installation. you don't get the sofware backup copy for futher use. so go for offline installation.

  • For the picture quality which one i should choose, canon 700d or 60d??

    Hey guys, im planning to buy a camera...
    because i'm not have so much money so i'm interested at 2 models.... EOS 60D and EOS 700D
    60D are old one than 700D... If i want a better picture which camera I should choose??
    I usually shooting at JPEG mode....
    And if I saw the spec the processor are quietly different (DIGIC 5 on 600D and DIGIC 4 on 60D), is the processor affect very much on the picture quality.....
    and my notes, i dont like to buy twice so I would buy for the best....... thanks guys....
    ---HarrY---

    The 700D has more "gee wiz" features (touch-screen, etc.)   But the 700D is more of an "entry" range body and the 60D is a "mid-range" body (Canon has entry level bodies, mid-level bodies, and pro-level bodies.)
    On a "pro" and "mid-range" body, the body has two dials... one just behind the shutter button and the other on the back of the body.  These are strategically located so that when shooting in manual mode, you can put your index finger on the front wheel (usually to adjust shutter speed) and you can but your thumb on the rear-dial (usually to adjust aperture/f-stop).  This allows for fairly rapid use in manual mode without needing to take your eye away from the viewfinder.
    The 60D has that layout (more like a pro body).  The 700D does not.
    The imaging senssors on those two bodies are actually the same generation (both use Canon's 18MP sensor).  You wont actually see any significant difference in image quality between the two bodies.
    The 60D is "weather sealed" (I put that in quotes because you should NOT confuse this for meaning it is water-proof.  It is not waterproof ... do not submerge it.  That would be very bad.)  Weather sealed means that openings in the body for buttons and dials and body seams all have gaskets or o-rings which are generally regarded as being good enough to seal out water or dust as long as it's not under any pressure.  If you get caught in the rain... not a big deal.  Just towel it off (do not open the body until you towel it off... it's obviously not sealed when doors are open or your lens is removed.)  Many of Canon's "L" series lenses (not all of them) are also weather sealed.  So keep in mind that while the body may be sealed and able to deal with some rain... the lens may not necessarily be able to deal with some rain.
    DIGIC V does have better JPEG processing than DIGIC IV... although you may not necessarily be able to notice the difference.
    I've seen (and so have you) stunningly gorgeous images coming from very old and very basic DSLR bodies.  The largest difference in image quality will be you... your skill.  Buying a Canon 1D-X flagship body will not ensure your images look fantastic no more than buying a Steinway concert grand piano will help you play beautiful music... if you never learned to play a piano.  You ultimately have to learn photography, exposure, and how to take advantage of your camera.
    If you plan to learn to shoot in manual mode, you will likely prefer the control and ergonomic layout that the 60D offers.  If you prefer to shoot in automatic, semi-automatic, or scene modes, then you will likely prefer the 700D.

  • Which one I should choose ?

    I'm a beginner and I have no idear which one I should choose:JB5.0,VJ++ or anyone else.I'm looking foward some suggestions about it.
    Thank for your help.

    Ive seen the suggestions of willright,morgalr,DrClap, and jsalonen. Thank for your helps. Ive also heard some evaluations about VJ++ as DrClap said, and it doesnt matter whether its free or not, but now I maintain JB is more suitable cause I think JDKs form Sun are difficult to understand. Im not so bright that I like visual platform and Ill go to see the Forte you advised. Thank you very much!

  • Which imac should i choose?

    I have the option between 2 imacs, and i would really like some opinions on which one to purchase, both prices for both imacs are the same. (About $1700)  I'm a college student, who uses final cut pro a lot for videos, and i am also a gamer, so i will be playing games on my mac as well.
    Option 1:
    * The standard 21 inch 2.9 GHZ, Nvidea Geforce GT 750m, with ONE of the following: a Fusion Drive, 16G Ram, or the i7 Processor. ( I cant afford all 3, so if this is a better option, please tell me which one i should choose)
    Option 2:
    * The 27 inch, 3.2 GHZ, Nvidea Geforce GT 675m.
    To sum it up, option one has a better Nvidea, and i can choose one of the 3 accesories, while option 2 is a larger screen, and a higher GHZ.
    Im guessing option one is better?

    Hello,
    My personal choice would be option 2.
    You can purchase extra ram from a reputable supplier far cheaper than adding it to your order, I have just 10 minutes ago upgraded my 8gb to 16gb for £70.00. It is very easy to do.
    Option 1 no user upgrade possible.
    RAM over CPU speed every time for me.
    27' loads of screen to work with.
    Conclusion: Buy base 27" and spend you money on third party ram, do not forget to factor in the cost of a backup harddrive.
    hope this helps.

  • Which java keyword cannot be used inside the body of a static method?

    Which java keyword cannot be used inside the body of a static method, but may be used without problems in a non-static method?

    But javac doesn't complain. So I was not partially wrong -- I was completely wrong.It's still better not to use the "this", though. When you explictly reference a static member via an instance reference (theFoo.bar or this.bar, as opposed to Foo.bar) the JLS requires a check that the reference is non-null. Clearly "this" is always non-null, but javac still puts in half of the check. Take the simple class public class Test {
        static int field;
        public void setField(int i) {this.field=i;}
        public void staticSetField(int i) {field=i;}
    } and observe the bytecodes produced: $ javap -c Test
    Compiled from "Test.java"
    public class Test extends java.lang.Object{
    static int field;
    public Test();
      Code:
       0:   aload_0
       1:   invokespecial   #1; //Method java/lang/Object."<init>":()V
       4:   return
    public void setField(int);
      Code:
       0:   aload_0
       1:   pop
       2:   iload_1
       3:   putstatic       #2; //Field field:I
       6:   return
    public void staticSetField(int);
      Code:
       0:   iload_1
       1:   putstatic       #2; //Field field:I
       4:   return
    }The JIT will get rid of it, but you may as well avoid the waste in the first place. (And if you really do want to check that the reference is non-null, do the check explicitly so that maintainers know it's intentional).

I recommend Maple or Matlab, or if you don't have any money to spend: you could try Maxima: http://maxima.sourceforge.net/ I heard some good things about it.

    Mountain Lion is the current version of the latest OS, with Mavericks coming this fall.
    However, I would suggest that you simply upgrade to Snow Leopard -> http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard. It's a very good, very fast OS and, best of all, it can still run those PPC apps that you may be using.
