Which jinitiator for w98 and win xp ?

hi all ,
i am deplying my forms6i on the web using oracle9ias .
the application works fine with w98 client where in it does not seem to be working with winxp client.
i think there is problem with jinitiator.
can somebody tell me which version of oracle jinitiator will work with win xp ? and how to install it on client side automatically when the page gets loaded.
Also when forms are accessed for first time it starts installing jinitiator. over the network it takes long time,
can i manage this download manually ?
help will be really appreciated

General Notes For Oracle JInitiator On Microsoft Windows XP:
Windows XP has 2 editions/versions, Professional and Home. Oracle will ONLY certify on Professional.
Oracle JInitiator :1.3.1.9
Oracle JInitiator :1.1.8.19

Yes it should work transferring PSE10 from Mac to Mac. There is a download link below for PSE10, which your friend could use. There is a formal licence transfer process but it’s not necessary for your friend to register the product (activation is sufficient) although he couldn’t benefit from future upgrade pricing without registration. Serial numbers typically can only be registered one time.
Boxed versions of PSE are normally multi-platform with disks for both Windows and Mac; so the serial number is the same. Downloads have tended to be single platform only although I believe the current version PSE12 will work on both Windows and Mac with the same serial number – boxed or download.

Can i buy a lens which suits for portraits and macro photography?

I have a 600D canon.
I want to buy a lens that can work both for portraits and also for macro.Is it possible?
Budget is approx. 400 $. Max stretch to 600$
I was recommended 50 mm f1.8 for portraits.

Macro lens can be a wonderful portrait lens. I've used mostly macro lens for portrait. Like Skirball said, 100mm is long for indoor portrait.

Could you please confirm that the latest version 8.0.15 is compatible with WIN 2000 Server connections? If not, could you please advise which version of Microsoft Remote Desktop for Mac is the match in order to connect to a WIN 2000 server.

Partitions for OSX and Win-XP, Photo Library and Scratchdisk

Hello everybody,
I have just received my 160GB hard disk for my MacBook, before installing it I have a question:
I want to run OSX, and windows XPPro
Within OSX I will be using Aperture
Within the XPPro environment I will be using CS2
Question 1.
for the CS2 envrinment I want to partition a schratchdisk of appr. 20GB. Will I be able to use this schratchdisk from both OSX and XP depending on when I use them (I am also able to run CS2 from OSX)
Question 2.
I want to access a single photo library from both OSX and XPPro, do I make an extra partition for this as well ?
I would be most pleased for any comments or alternative setups on partitioning.
I will be using Bootcamp.

I would only partition for scratch disk and running XP. For iPhoto it is best if the pictures are on the same partition as the operating system as it makes it easier to backup your data as my FAQ explains

Before partitioning, be sure to backup your data at least twice, as partitioning may cause the drive to fail if there is anything wrong with it at the low level. Apple´s Boot Camp utility theoretically can partition without wiping the drive, and other methods of running XP on your MacBook may make their own virtual partition to run XP on which you can copy over to a formatted partition with the installer´s Disk Utility if you so desire, or you can keep on your main partition. You may find though you don´t have to run XP at all. There are many more compatible Mac compatible titles than you might think which you can find in the above FAQ.

Which MSS for erp2005 and Portal 7

This isn't as silly a question as it seems - honest
Our system is ERP 2005 and Portal 7.
According to the Portal Content Portfolio there is a Business Packagefor Manager Self-service (mySAP ERP) which is version 1.0 but has the following in the document
Primary Backend System SAP - ERP 2005
Portal Release NetWeaver 2004s (SP Stack 05 and higher)
Which fits us nicely. The size of the 4 .sca files are roughly 1 meg.
I loaded them but they didn't work
I also loade PCUI and the common parts business package.
Then upon investigation on service.sap.com/patches I find following the path
SAP Application Components -> SAP ERP -> SAP ERP 2005 -
> Entry by Component -> SAP XSS (Self Services)-> MSS600
Notice the different version number and the size of the 4 .sca files here are roughly 57meg.
Can anyone explain what the difference is between these to versions of MSS? Both are for ERP 2005?
When would you use one and not the other?
By default I usually get the ones from the Portal Content Portfolio (as I did on this occasion).
The same scenario is true also for ESS.
Can anyone explain this.

Which switch for POE and 7940G phones?

I have 2 (and maybe soon 5 more) 7940G phones to add to my network, which already has a Netgear POE capable switch. I've since discovered that early Cisco POE isn't the same thing as current POE, and the switch doesn't power the phones.
I was looking at adding a Cisco SD208P 8-port switch to power the phones, but I soon discovered it only has 4 POE ports, and I'm not sure that this switch will even power the 7940G phones. And if the other 5 phones show up, I'll need two of those switches with no room for expansion on the voice network.
Will this switch power those phones?
Is there another small switch available so I don't have to replace my existing switch infrastructure to get these phones to work? Or do I need to scrap the phones and get something newer that will work with the current POE standards?

I would look at the ESW520 8 port switch, it will power the phones and will have the "*" VLAN's already setup in them.
Side note "*": This assumes that you are using VLAN100 and Cisco Voice system for the switch

SAP GUI 7.10 rev 1 for OSX and WIN XP with transaction MIGO

Hello,
When I start transaction MIGO and MIGO_GR, with SAP GUI 7.10 rev 1, I only get a blank screen.
I've tried it in OSX 10.4.9, OSX 10.5.1 and Windows XP, all with the same result.
SAP GUI 7.10 gives the correct screen.
Do you have a solution for this ?

One Licence for MAC and WIN?

I would like to purchase Lightroom. As I understand I can run the program with one licence on a desktop and a laptop, but not use it on both devices at the same time. My Desktop is a MAC, my Laptop runs on Windows 7. Is this still possible with the same licence?

Initializing HD, which format for mac and windows?

I would like to initialize an external firewire HD to be able to use it on mac and pc.
Should I just choose the FAT format in disk utility?

this is about as good as I could find.
windows reads & writes ntfs, and fat32
os x reads and writes fat32 and mac os x extended.
os x can read ntfs (read only)
and fat32 can't handle large files or large disks.
spit it up and hope that no file is greater than 4gig
unless you can find the drivers for your xp or vista, you can't read a mac os x extended disk.

Which specs for FCP and which camcorder?

will be using the macbook for editing gigs/events/music video's etc. what specs would be best?
and any thoughts on a camcorder? currently got my eye on sony hxr mc50e but wanting to know if you think any others are better?

If, despite all advice to the contrary, you still go for the MacBook Pro then I'd recommend the base 17” MacBook Pro (MBP) configuration, with 160GB 5400 RPM hard disc option, and an additional 1 GB RAM (to make 3 GB total).
Why the 17” model?
Because when editing you need as much screen space as possible. Yes, it is bigger and heavier than the 15”, but I think that it’s larger and higher resolution display is worth that sacrifice.
Why the bigger but slower 160GB 5400 RPM hard disc option?
Laptop drives already have a much smaller capacity than their desktop cousins and those little drives, inevitably, fill up quickly with all your stuff!
And of course, you're planning to get an external media drive too, right? If you don’t have one then your internal disc will be eaten up by clip media in no time (especially if you opted for the smaller faster internal disc).
Why 3 GB RAM?
Well OK, thats an expensive option, but seriously, if you can afford it the money is well spent.
I'd also strongly recommend the extended AppleCare Protection Plan.

Lo extraction

I am trying to get the updates for CS5 and I keep getting this message "There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later." What does this mean?

I am trying to update CS5 through the CS5 application. I hit "updates" in the help menu. It goes through its series of updates and then says " There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later."
I have no idea what this means. Of course, I have retried this….but to no avail. Can somebody help me?

Please do a forum search. I and others have repeatedly answered this question a whole bunch of times recently.
Bottom line: the Adobe auto updater is utterly useless in CS5 and prior versions. You need to download the updates and apply them manually yourself.
I and others have even supplied the links for Mac and Win, which you haven't even bothered to specify.
