Fatar builds the keyboard hardware for a lot of synths and master keyboards producers all over the world.
Which to choose? The one that gives you the better feeling.
But take in mind that:
1. if you choose a MIDI keyboard and you don't have an audio interface with MIDI you will have to buy a MIDI interface too;
2. M-Audio hardware have a very bad reputation (particularly since Digidesign, oe better Avid, bought them);
3. if you don't need controllers then you could choose a good digital piano instead (I like Yamaha ones)
4. if you need controllers check the CME master keyboards too: they are affordable, have a good touch and are very robust. (http://www.cme-pro.com/)

  • Which keyboard feel would you choose if given a choice Traditional or chiclet

Assuming the layout is identical, which keyboard would you choose for feel and ease of typing
    The Traditional Lenovo Keyboard
    or
    The new chiclet one.
Please note that this has nothing to do with the layout Im asking purely on the ease of typing and
    feel of keyboard basis

I am rocking the keyboard on my T500 which has been my favorite ThinkPad I've spent more than a week with. I think T500 was the last one IBM really had influence on. On to the answer to your question the answer is hands down the standard keyboard.

Don't make the mistake of going in for the Capdase silicone rubbery covers(or any other silicone cover). They sure do protect your keyboard but they also attract a lot of hair and its difficult to keep it clean.

  • Which Keyboard for my G5? Finding reviews & info has been ough. Need advice

Hi all. Forgive me for being a rank amateur.
I'm buying a G5 in the next few days and will be using Final Cut Pro 5 for my short film, which I shot last year. This will be a 5 minute short and was shot on MiniDV. My next short will be shot in HD, for those of you who want to know about future editing needs.
However, trying to figure out which keyboard to buy has been troublesome. I would like to buy one of the many shortcut type keyboards out there, but am unsure which is the best.
Finding reviews or information has been very tough.
Can I have your advice? I'm thinking I will not be going the wireless route, but then again, maybe I should?
Any help would be appreciated greatly. Thanks

    Matt,
I'm also fairly new to FCP and Macs and also asked on here about jog-shuttles. The advice given was that the jog only adds one more thing to control (along with the mouse and keyboard) and that it would be far easier to use FCP with just keyboard and mouse... and the shortcuts
BUT I was leant a jog and so tried it out - just to see what I thought myself of using 3 things.
Guess what? As always the advice given on here was correct. Now that I'm slowly learning all the shortcuts I'd never use a jog on my machine. I've also done what someone suggested on this thread - I've stuck up a sheet of paper with all the shortcuts. An absolute dream.
No need for jog or another keyboard. A bit of A4 paper will do ya best

  • Which keyboard should I buy to use keys as replacement for macbook pro?

I have an early 2011 macbook pro and some keys are sticking and broken. I tried buying the newest aluminum wireless keyboard from apple in an attempt to replace the scissor mechanisms, but they are different types and sizes. Does anyone know which keyboard has the revision A type mechanism I could use to replace them?
Note: individually replacing 22 keys would cost close to 200$ and replacing with another keyboard would be better.

It's probably not under warranty anymore to be honest. I found the previous model of the keyboard I had tried.
(A1314) MC184LL/A might have the right type but I can't find any information on them

  • Which keyboard for FCP?

I was a video editor years ago for a local TV news station and the extent of my editing was with 2 BETA-SP machines and a cuts-only "controller" (remember the kind with a shuttle/jog wheel on each side that you'd bang on and spin with one finger to get to the frame you were looking for?).
Years later, I'm just starting to get my feet wet with FCP6 and am missing my old shuttle/jog wheels.
Are there any special keyboards or separate controllers out there with shuttle/jog wheels that are well-suited for Final Cut?
    Jason

I use the Bella 5102 EZ Keyboard for FCP, which has a "jog/shuttle" control, which is just a tactile J,K,L (shuttle) and left/right arrow (jog) controller. It doesn't respond in the same manner as an actual controller, but I do find myself using the "shuttle" occasionally (out of habit).
If you want more functionality/customizability, check out the JL Cooper MCS3 SP USB controller, but it also uses keyboard commands (and is like $800!).
I'm not sure FCP can even be controlled with the same response as an edit controller, since the controller functions refer to keyboard commands.

  • Way to see which keyboard shortcuts/bindings are in use?

The Spotlight preference pane has yellow alert triangles next to the two keyboard shortcuts, indicating that there's a conflict between those shortcuts and some shortcuts set somewhere else. I can't find the conflict. Is there any way to see what shortcuts are currently in use that might be causing the conflict? I'm pretty ignorant about Terminal but I'm imagining that there'd be some way of running a report in Terminal to show current key bindings.

Most likely that would be the Input Source (keyboard) which uses the same shortcuts.
Note that I have changed mine to add a Shift key to mine.

  • Which keyboard combination did i make that  command stays on the screen

    please help
also the shift and option key will be displayed

If you want to make that happen -
Go to System Preferences > Universal Access > Keyboard
In that window, turn on Sticky Keys and checkmark the item "Display pressed keys on screen".
If you want to turn it off, turn off Sticky Keys.

  • How does Belle FP2 decide which keyboard is presen...

    Hi,
I'm a long-time user of Profimail on Symbian devices. Now that I've gotten used to the new keyboard on Belle FP2 I'm finding it frustrating to use the pre-FP2 keyboard that Profimail presents.
I asked the developers if they could update Profimail to use the FP2 keyboard and this was their response:
ProfiMail doesn't make any keyboard selection. System decides what kind of text input it offers.
Hard to tell what kind of compatibility mode is used in this case.
If this is true then what is it that some apps do to ensure the system selectes the FP2 keyboard?  I'd like to pass on the answer to the developers.
    Many thanks,
    Matt

I guess I could create aliases in the physical layer on Customer and Customer contacts and then separate logical tables in the BMM where the LTS points to these new aliases. This would make the new star schema isolated from other star schemas.
However, it would have been great if I could have been able to reuse the existing dimensions in the BMM. Any suggestions on how we could reuse the existing dimensions and still have the BI Server join the existing dimensions through the new fact ? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  • Which keyboard is recommended for a Garageband beginner?

I want to start exploring Garageband before thinking about upgrading to iLife 08. Can somebody recommend a good keyboard to invest in without breaking the bank?

  • Which keyboards work with garageband?????

I know there are special midi keyboards, but i want to get yamaha or casio that i can play when not hooked up as well. Do any of the casio or yamaha keyboards work with garageband... without having to buy additional hardware.

Yes, many! I have a Yamaha PSR-K1 that I have hooked up to my iMac, and speakers, and it will play thru either, including Garage Band of course. Some Yamahas can also play thru their own speakers. eg no hookup to anything else required, but you would best go to a Yamaha site, and post the question under CUSTOMER SERVICE to find the model. . I would think a good Yamaha dealer would also know the models??

Which midi keyboards work with the iPad when used with camera adapter? Which keyboards do you recommend? Thanks.

    Jude.Tristessa-
As a starting point, try doing a web search for iPad midi.  You will get a better idea what is available, and can then ask more specific questions here.
I do not know if any can use the Camera Connection Kit, but there may be some that connect via Bluetooth.
