Which kind of color printer with air print to buy?

I desperately need a new printer.  We simply need one for printing out lots of homework stuff and occasionally a color photograph.  Should I get a laser or inkjet?  Price doesn't concern me as we'd love to get a quality piece.  Any suggestions?  Also, we want to have the Air Print capaiblity.

Too many to mention, go to your reseller of printers and then decide for yourself which one has the features  you need. As a general rule inkjet prints much better photos than laser.

  • Can I choose photo sizes to print in Air Print

Does anyone have tips for printing photos with Air Print from iPhone 6 or iPad mini to a Canon PIXMA printer?

I'm not sure about the Canon, but with my HP, if I go to print a photo from the phone, it defaults to the 4x6 size paper that is loaded in the paper tray (there is a separate photo tray). I am not aware of any way to change the settings for the HP, so you might not be able to from the Canon, unless you are using a specific app to print rather than just AirPrint.

  • Anything printed with firefox prints too small

anything printed with firefox prints too small. If I print and email it prints in the center top of the page and is just larger than a credit card. if I adjust the scale to 100% the it prints what could fit on one page onto 4 pages and prints a small portion in the center top of the page and is just larger than a credit card.

Ok i think i fixed this issues.
i went to about:config print.print_margin_bottom (and also left, right and top) and right clicked reset (it took out the previous 0.5 value). now the pages look normal on print preview without the large margin

When printing from Preview, the document prints with large print and many lines added and pages added. Why does this happen?

Thank you!!! That was the problem--scale was set at 200% (don't know why)--when I reduced it to 100% it printed perfectly.
Thanks again for helping me resolve this problem.

Connect to a network printer for air print, after disconnect from the wifi iphone keep pop up a message saying the printer is offline. How do I disable this annoying message?

    Hey ronniefai,
Thanks for the question. I understand you are receiving a prompt that your printer is offline. This may be due to a printing job that is currently in the queue. Are you able to see the print summary when following these steps?:
    Viewing the Print Summary
You can view the Print Summary by double-tapping the Home button and swiping to the right to reveal Printer Center. Then tap Print Center.
Note: Print Center is available only while printing is in progress.
    via AirPrint Basics
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4356
If so, see if you can cancel the job. If not, what happens when you re-connect to the network that the printer is on?
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

I have cannon mx870 it's not listed as an available printer for air print. Why it's only three years old and it has wi fi.

Probably because it pre-dates Airprint technology.  The fact that it has wifi doesn't change anything if it isn't an Airprint-supported printer

  • Resolving color management with Epson printer

Using an Espon Stylus Photo RX600
    InDesignCS 3.0.1
    PhotoShop 8.0
I continually struggle with color when printing scanned images or images off of a camera card into PhotoShop and/or InDesign, and with the warning messages (upon opening) for tagged or untagged photos,
Are the dialog box choices regarding printing choices for newer versions of PS and ID more user-friendly regarding color management choices, hence I would be better off upgrading strictly for that purpose?
    I'm using a PowerBook,
Step 1 instructions from a post in this forum suggest calibration first.
i have calibrated my monitor. I have a name for the calibrated color settings and can call them up in Color Settings before I open the photo in Color.
step 2 advice in an earlier post reads :
dont apply double profiling, let the application, Photoshop Cs in my case, handle the colour management and make sure no colour adjustment is checked in the printer driver, this is located in the colour management section of a drop down menu.
this advice, step 2, is hard to follow because I do not know which phrase/choices in the dialog boxes refer to letting the SOFTWARE handle the printing and which refer to letting the PRINTER handle the printing. Either workflow would work fine. The Epson has wonderful capabilities when I get it managed correctly.
I have repeatedly tried to use a workflow by Ballard but can't interpret the advice similar to "step 2" above in tandem with the opening choices for untagged photos.
A single workflow would be great, but I need a solution that works no matter what the source of my photo (scanner, camera card being the most frequently used, I use an Olympus digital and a Casio digital).
Thanks for any advice. Right now I'd just like to hit my printer with a rock, but I doubt that would solve anything.

Please follow g ballards advice. You must understand first before you click. You NEVER USE the monitor profile except for the monitor itself. Hopefully you calibrated your monitor with an actual calibrator, which one was it?
The Epson will give you what you need and want if you actually know what you're doing.
There's a lot to understand, but it will become second nature once you follow the steps.
It appears that you don't understand calibration, color spaces, profiles, rendering intent, device dependence, and output.
You haven't given any system specs. Why are you using Indesign 3 and PS 8? Where is PS 10?

  • Help with Air Print and my ipad 2.

I have a Kodak ESP C310 printer that is Air Print enabled. I can print from my Mac Book Pro, but not from my iPad or iPhone. Anyone have any ideas? All are on the same wifi network.

There aren't any Kodak printers listed on this page as being AirPrint enabled - where did you see that it is AirPrint enabled ?
You could see if Kodak have their own app in the store that supports that model, or there are a number of third-party printer apps such as PrintCentral Pro and Print n Share which might work with it

  • My HP C5280 printer with Air Port Express cannot be found on my IPad . Any suggestions?

MYIpad  Wi Fi cellular cannot connect to my HP c5280 printer with AirPort Express.

It appears that the HP C5280 is not an AirPrint compatible printer, so I would not expect it to work when you try to print from an iPad.......unless you want to try to install additional software.....like Printopia.....on a Mac on the network to see if that might allow printing.
There is a free trial with Printopia, so if you want to give it a try, you will know if it will work before you buy. More details in the link below.
There are other Apps that perform this type of service as well, but I have not used them. Hopefully, other users will have some other suggestions in that regard.
