you can turn on Assistive Touch it adds the Power and other buttons to the iPods screen. Settings>General>Accessibility>Assistive Touch

Is there a format, software, or do you encode it? I am new to production. I can make a video and make it work for a certain thing just not all.

There is no such thing as universal format and that is that. You are looking for the magic pearl that doesn't exist and rather than waste your time on a futile search, it would be better to actually read up on the various formats and their limitations, including how playback devices may or may not support this and that.

Have you ever even used skype on an iphone or ipod? We tried it and there is no way to type to each other while you are video chatting. You can do the typing during the video on a COMPUTER, but not on an iphone or ipod.

All of a sudden AppleTV doesn't show YouTube videos

Hello folks,
I have an AppleTV2 and use it connected to a HDTV Sony Bravia 55" screen.
Till few days ago, I was able to see everything: YouTube, Vimeo, Traillers, my videos through Home Sharing, Mirroring Airplay, etc., etc.
Some 2 days ago I tried to see some YouTube videos and surprisingly nothing at all appears except YouTube logo and the menu, but when you click on anything videos don't load. The weird thing is that all the rest works perfectly: Vimeo, my own videos, Netflix, Traillers, etc., etc., just youTube videos don't show.
All is connected, Wi-Fi works OK and has a strong signal. If I use Mirroring Airplay with my iMac, I see YouTube on the TV
At the very beginning I thought this would fix by it self, like sometimes happens with electronic devices, but as after 2 days and some 4/5 trials, there are no changes, looks like there is a problem, but I really don't know where. AppleTV? YouTube?
I checked settings and all seems OK
Any help/suggestions/experiences is welcome

OK, I made a small mistake. Windows does assign it a drive letter. In WinXP Control Panel/System/Computer Management/Disk Management there is a listing for drive H and it is listed as Healthy (Active) with a capacity of 55.78 GB. I even changed the drive letter from H to I with no change in status.
I next tried iPod Updater 2005-11-17 on another WinXP machine (sorry, no Apples in this house), which I know works with other iPods in the house. Updater gets to "Plug in an iPod to update it" and stops there with an hourglass cursor.
What is my next step? I really don't want to return it on general principle and lost time, but I am unable to use it anyway.

In that case, do you have another computer where you
can try the iPod Restore process? If everything
works by just changing to a different iPod, then the
iPod is the biggest suspect.
And if the "other computer" could be a Macintosh -
therby forcing a complete rewrite of the disk
structure during the restore - even better! Then
bring it back to the PC, and "iPod Updater" should
have better luck with the unit.

Loss of sound in all browsers showing youtube Videos?

I don't really know where to start wit this one,
I use both Firefox and Safari (& Camino sometimes) but for some reason none of them play sound for youtube videos. Obviously it isnt the speakers because they work fine with everything else-

Some apps change the default sound prefs of OS X which seems to mute the sound in some apps, but not all.
If that is the case, the fix is simple - open Garage Band and play a sample loop. This will reset the sound to the defaults and your sound should return.

Not heard of that, you can always build this yourself though.
It depends on the design and implementation you want.
Basic use would be a custom field - multiline and you copy the embed code into it and they render out based on your web app layout.

Which iPod touch for 60 fps video?

After searching and checking iPod touch specs, I can't find which iPod touch allows to record video at 60 frames per sec ?
I've seen iOs7 supported 60 fps but in the iPod touch details, it says up to 30fps ?

I only know that only the iPhone 5 can do 60 fps at 1080p, but only with third-party camera apps from the App Store.
I strongly recommend the 5th generation iPod touch with the 5-megapixel iSight camera. (This is the same camera as the iPhone 5 has, but limited to 5MP instead of 8). CPU may also be a factor.
If you really want to do slow motion, get the iPhone 5s, but other that that, go for the 5th gen.

Are you using a MacBook Pro model with dual display cards? (I.e., check your profiller.) If so, Snow Leopard and Lion users have indicated that switching from "Battery Saver" to "Performace" mode in the System Preferences "Energy Saver" window fixed this problem. Not sure if this also works for Leopard systems but it might be worth looking at.

Solutions for displaying s-video signal on Macbook Pro? (2006 model)

I looking around for ways to display an s-video signal on my Macbook Pro, but i've no idea the best way to this.
I'm not really after capturing or recording the signal, but I just need a means that I can view the signal, and to be able to switch to another program running on the Macbook. (switch back and forth from Mac app to viewing s-video signal)
Ive seen a few products but they look overblown for what I really need to do like the Elgato video capture, and the xlr8 provideo usb devices.
Is there a way that I could use the DVI socket on the Macbook? I have seem its possible to display the Macbook signal on an external display using this socket, but can it be used to take an input signal?

Technical note of what I exactly need this for: I have an old Roland sampler which can be used with an external monitor to aid in its editing. The outputs on the sampler are s-video and digital RGB. So that I dont have to buy an old bulky monitor I want to use my Macbook display for this while I also am running Logic Pro 8 at the same time. And to switch from Logic, to the displayed signal from the sampler.

The DVI out on your MacBookPro cannot be used for input. In order to see the s-video signal on your MBP display you will need an analog-digital converter like the Canopus ADVC-55, plus you will need to run software. You may be able to use iChat A/V, although I haven't tried it for this purpose. It will cost you more than the Elgato eyeTV device, however.
You will find it much easier & cheaper if you just get an inexpensive LCD display to use with your Roland sampler.

I have a Canon 60D and CS4 master collection with Premiere Pro and Encore. What settings should I shoot video at in order to get the best youtube output? My choices are 1920x1080-30; 1920x1080-24; 1280x720-60; 640x480-60; crop-640-60

Best solution for showing photos on a HD TV?

I recently got a Sony HD TV with full 1080. I would like to be able to display my photos at the best resolution possible on it. What is the best way to do that? My computer is nowhere near the TV so I can't plug it in directly. I also am not interested in buying an Apple TV so I guess I'm looking at DVD. How do you get the best resolution using DVD's?

DVD's give you, at best, a resolution of something like 852x400. Given that 1080i resolution is 1920x1080, you can see that you are loosing a huge amount of detail. It will look OK but not nearly as impressive as it might.
Honestly the best solution is to hook your Mac up to the TV. You can look for DVI cables online that are very long (I think as long as 50ft). You'll also probably need a DVI to HDMI adaptor, depending on what your TV accepts. The only question is if a cable run that long will be able to hold the signal OK.
The AppleTV would be a good alternative, but be aware that it limits resolution to 720p - 1280x720, which is much better than a DVD but not quite as good as a full 1080i connection. You probably wouldn't notice the difference between that and 1080i as much as between DVD and 1080i. Another alternative is an older non-Intel Mac MINI, still able to display a picture at 1080i just fine.
In the future, the answer to this question will be to buy a Blu-Ray burner and produce a 1080i slideshow to disc just as you can do with DVD today. But burners are still rather expensive as are players, so a second Mac or Apple TV would probably be cheaper at this point...

Budget a few hundred gigabytes of hard drive space for render space for hour long projects

If you are getting paid for your work, don't hesistate to double or triple your budget.
Have you considered a high-end gaming laptop to showcase your work or work right at your clients? I do my work on a gaming laptop and it's much more rewarding to showcase my work and make edits on the spot with a client.
Again your camera is capable of 3D. Don't limit your hardware to 2D.
With regards to software
I like Pinnacle Studio for raw performance and excellent interface when I'm trimming clips.
I like Avid Studio for Picture and Picture. Pinnacle is limited to 2 video streams.
I like Corel VideoStudio Ultimate (still learning it) for 3D support
Seriously research and look for a local demonstation of Matrox MXO2. If you are making money on your projects, being able to render and post your videos with the shortest amount of time with make you more attractive to a client. It also frees up your personal time.
Panasonic's camera is still kinda new, you are going to need to research if products identified supports your camera.
