Which Linksys VPN Routers support Multicast forwarding

Which Linksys VPN Routers support Multicast forwarding / passthru   I have remote SPA942 phones connected thru a vpn to a SPA9000/SPA400 system. After manual provisioning the phones work, but voice mail, auto provisioning, etc that use multicast do not work. VPN is using Netgear boxes which do not forward multicast. I'm going to switch to Linksys/Cisco VPN routers but want to make sure which models will do the multicast forwarding.
Thanks

I only no of 1 for sure and that is by downloading 3rd party firmware like DD-WRT, the WRT54G. See the below Link.

  • Which E series routers support the Wireless_Advanced.asp hidden page?

I know the E2500 and the E4200 support the http://192.168.1.1/Wireless_Advanced.asp settings but what other E series routers support this hidden page where you can set Beacon Interval, RTS and Fragmentation thresholds?

I own the E3000 v1 and it has this feature so I presume that the E1000 & E2000 have this feature. You say that E2500 & the E4200 have the feature.  I presume that the E1200 v1 to E4200 v1 have the feature while E1200 v2 to E4200 do not have the feature. See new userguide for E1200 to E4200.

  • PIX 501 and Linksys VPN Router (WRV200)

I have inherited a job where we have a Cisco PIX 501 firewall at one site, and Linksys WRV200 VPN Router on two other
sites. I have been asked to connect these Linksys routers to the PIX firewall via VPN.
I believe the Linksys vpn routers can only connect via IPSec VPN, so i am looking for help on configuring the PIX 501 to allow the linksys to connect with the following parameters, if possible.
    Key Exchange Method: Auto (IKE)
    Encryption: Auto, 3DES, AES128, AES192, AES256
    Authentication: MD5
    Pre-Shared Key: xxx
    PFS: Enabled/Disabled
    ISAKMP Key Lifetime: 28800
    IPSec Key Lifetime: 3600
On the PIX i have the PDM installed and i have tried using the VPN Wizard to no avail.
I chose the following settings when doing the VPN Wizard:
Type of VPN: Remote Access VPN
    Interface: Outside
Type of VPN Client Device used: Cisco VPN Client
(can choose Cisco VPN 3000 Client, MS Windows Client using PPTP, MS Windows client using L2TP)

    DH Group: Group 2 (1024-bit)
    Transform Set
    Encryption: 3DES
    Authentication: MD5
I have attached the VPN log from the Linksys VPN Router.
This is the first time i've ever worked with PIX so i'm still trying to figure the thing out, but i'm confident with CCNA level networking.
    Thanks for your help!

    Hi again,
I believe the pix has a 3des license because of the following parts of the "show version"
    Licensed Features:
    Failover: Disabled
    VPN-DES: Enabled
    VPN-3DES-AES: Enabled
This PIX has a Restricted (R) license.
I've tried reconnecting the VPN tunnel with debugging on the PIX and get the output as shown in the attached file "vpndebug.txt"
As for the other show commands they give:

  • Cisco routers support ipv6 in OPNET?

    Hi all,
my question is: which of cisco routers support ipv6 in OPNET Modeler simulator?
    please, It's urgent.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Dan,
This is a funny community section  to pose questions on the SOHO 97
It's End of Like annoucement was a wee while ago,  in June 2006.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/routers/ps4866/prod_end-of-life_notice0900aecd804d5ad6.html
As you appreciate,  the replacement for the SOHO97, the 800 series product supported IPv6.
    I have taken the liberty , in relation to soho97,  to copy a section from the IOS software release notes from the following URL;
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/routers/ps221/prod_bulletin09186a00801ffda1.html#wp1003249
It states the following in relation to IOS version12.3(4)XG
    "Baseline IPv6
Supported Platforms: Cisco 831, 836, and 837 Series Routers; Plus Images Only
Support of the baseline initiatives IPv6 features—providing IPv6 support to all Cisco 830 Series platforms. Further details in release notes."
Like yourself, no where can i see a reference to the SOHO 97 product supporting  IPv6.
    regards Dave

No they should be agnostic about what is behind them, but as to support for IP6, or whether any computers or tablets can use AC... and hasn't Apple's own units sometimes stop being supported with new Mac and new versions of OS X? seems so.
I said above, why would anyone install any kind of software to use a router? although Netgear's GEnie is or was installed on my systems that adds a nice way to log in and manage the router, so I have to take that back a notch.
Support for modems and ISPs is a concern, my modem is not certified fully with DOCSIS 3.0 or  FIOS.
Look around and you can find routers having trouble with some network services like Airplay, printing and scanning, the software bundled with router.
However, ethernet chips, and the driver, can be a factor. Problems with Intel networking chip and high bandwidth streaming and not being able to handle the load when used by wifi euipment like notebooks and other devices.
I have only seen the LARGE number of complaints on MacBook forums about wifi issues to suspect something is wrong but not sure what. And those are people that depend on wifi I assume, though some could use their Thunderbolt equipped Mac to use ethernet to get around the problems. And I am seeing the same thing with some Windows users and maybe they all have common Intel chips???
MacBook Pro constantly losing wireless connectivity
I use Windows 8.1 primarily. I also don't know enough or as much to know "Why is the sky blue" either.
    Just pass along this example:
If you're setting up a new PC for the first time, check if your router is fully compatible with Windows. Because of the new networking features in Windows (8.1), some older network routers aren't fully compatible and can cause problems. For a list of routers that are compatible with Windows 8.1 and Windows RT 8.1, go to the Windows Compatibility Center.
Anyone remember when 10.4.0 had so many issues with LAN that it could not be used, work on fix was going on and wasn't complete until 10.4.2/4.3 (and first time we got a new full 10.4.3 DVD because customers needed a reliable system.

  • Multicast VPN Extranet Support doesn't work after reload

    Hi!
We have Cat6500 with configured Multicast VPN Extranet Support feature. After reload of the 6500 customers in the receive MVPN cannot get mcast stream. We connect test device into source MVPN on that 6500 - everything is OK, mcast stream is available.
Workaround is "no mls ip multicast/mls ip multicast". After these commands mcast in the receive MVPN works fine.
    IOS 12.2 SXJ2
Looks like a bug. We have several Cat6500 but only two of them have this issue.
Does anybody faced with such trouble?

  • Linksys Switches/Routers that support CISCO IP SLA Responder feature

Hi there, I'm looking for a Linksys Switch or Router that does support Cisco IP SLA Responder, this allows for measuring one way delay, etc.
I'd appreciate if somebody can help me identifying a Linksys device supporting this.
    Thanks!
    From Cisco website:
"...Cisco IOS IP SLA Responder is a Cisco IOS Software component whose functionality is to respond to Cisco IOS IP SLA request packets....Some of the newer Linksys devices also support this feature...."

Cisco sold Linksys to Belkin quite a while ago. Linksys business products are typically for the SMB market.
For the SLA feature you are asking about I have used the Cisco 1921.
Please remember to Kudo those that help you.

  • Can mpls support multicast?

    Hi,
    Can mpls support multicast packets?
Meaning, can multicast packets be sent to destinations over mpls network?
If so, how does it work?
I read in this forum somewhere that someone mentioned mpls and multicast can co-eixt.
    What exactly does it mean?
    Thanx!

In the MPLS network you can either use native multicast or you could implement mVPN on the PE routers if you implement MPLS VPN. mVPN uses native multicast in the core to encapsulate the multicast messages coming from a CE router and to forward these messages to PEs containing the same VRF.
For more information on mVPN, see the following link:

  • Problems with my LinkSys wireless routers since getting AT&T u-verse

I recently installed AT&T u-verse. Every since it's hit or miss on whether I can connect to my two linksys wireless routers. Sometimes it connects fine but other times I can try for hours and never obtain an IP address. I never have a problem connecting to the 2wire wireless router which was installed when u-verse was installed but it doesn't have coverage for my whole house.
The AT@T tech says the 2Wire has problems with routers being configured behind their router??? He said that I need to set my Linksys wireless routers up as access points???
Anyone have any suggestions on what to try? Anyone else have issues like this after u-verse was installed?
    Thanks

I've had AT&T U-verse since March, and I wish it wasn't the best option in my area. I have been through 3 of those 2-Wire Gateways and as best I can track down it's that DHCP Server. I have a BEFSR41v3 (and yes, I am NOT using the WAN port, just the switch at IP 192.168.1.10) and a WAP54G (IP 192.168.1.11) using WPA2-PSK and have been using for years now. AT&T tried telling me it was my wireless devices, which strangely enough worked PERFECTLY fine on my Linksys hardware with the same SSID/Key when I was with TWC. My wireless devices would work fine for a while, then gradually start having problems until by 2 weeks they are completely unable to negotiate an IP from the DHCP. Called AT&T, they reset the gateway, and everything works for 2 more weeks. Most my computers (wired or WiFi) are manually IP configured. Only my laptop (also used on a college WiFi) and visitors use the DHCP server (and the AT&T Boxes).  THUS far I've been reasonably successful by limiting the AT&T Gateway to 3 addresses for my Boxes, letting it issue them to the TV's, then adding my linksys router (ignoring the WAN port and using DHCP on with an allocation of 15 addresses) and setting the Linksys WAP to the #4 port. This weird setup now gets short lasting fits in the form of "Limited Connectivity" for my WiFi devices using Dyamic IP.  It can still access the LAN perfect, only that device has no Internet Access, and Windows says i'm being blocked by a Firewall. It self resolves in a few minutes without me doing anything and it MIGHT come once or so a month, or until they run another update which seems to ALWAYS reset that gateway (I've given up changing the password and now keep a txt on every system since it seems to reset at least monthly). A few days ago it's started giving me IP conflicts that disappeared within 1-2 minutes, which is odd since it is my manual IP's getting the conflicts... It did that for 2 days then hasn't since.
    Currently I'm wired as...
    AT&T Gateway 192.1681.254 w/ 3 DHCP range 1.160-163, WiFi disabled, and 3 LAN ports to 2 TV's and my BEFSR41
BEFSR41 192.168.1.10 w/ 15 DHCP range 1.60-74, WAN port unused, 4 LAN ports to 1 Desktop, 2 unmanaged Netgear 1000 switches, and 1 to the WAP
    WAP54G 192.168.1.11 with it's gateway set to 192.168.1.10
1 Netgear switch provides wired access for the entertainment center (PS3, DVD player, DVR, etc) and open ports for visitors
Other Netgear switch is upstairs and runs to 2 additional desktops and one more cable box...
All my wired NICs are set to a 1.2x address and all configured WiFi devices (Wii and a pair of Android phones) i have on a 1.3x.
Manual IP with a 255.255.255.0 mask and gateway 192.168.1.254, manually entering the DNS from the gateway's Broadband Details page
As far as I've been able to test and observe, that gateway is tempermental (and intermittent so tech support can't EVER find a problem conveniently) with anything using the DHCP other than the cable boxes. My manual set devices have had no problems other than that strange IP conflict that popped up on 3 computers, bugged me 2 days, then just never came back (also ironically the monday i was going to call a tech support about it)
I've attempted to disable the DHCP entirely from the gateway and only use my Linksys DHCP. That seemed to work for a few hours untill, i'm guessing, the leases expired. Then all 3 TV's stopped. Everything getting it's IP manually or from the Linksys continued just fine, internet and all. The cable boxes only returned when i re-activated the 2-Wire's DHCP Server.
I would like to try using the Linksys router to isolate my LAN (and everything else i can) from that 2-Wire with a cascade, just link across on a single static IP to dodge that DHCP, but i havn't been able to get the cablebox upstairs to work off the Linksys DHCP. Even then, I'm not sure how i can get a network split to work. If i only isolated the DHCP over my WiFi, they would still at least loose file-sharing with the my File/Media/Backup PC downstairs. Move that to the other side, then the PC's upstairs loose access. As is it's MOSTLY stable though, i just have to pull apart the gateway and cut down it's DHCP range so my devices will actually get an IP from my linksys. If i don't take away the 2-wires, i still get a high IP fail rate. It would be great if i'm overlooking some way to force all DHCP IP requests -OTHER- than the cable boxes to get their IP from the Linksys and not the 2-Wire
Far as jdaley, I havn't tried to set a cascade since I'm having problems figuring out a means to isolate the boxes (and 2-wire) away from the LAN since one box is upstairs sharing a single cable with the computers there. Someone else seemed to report a success that way. If not that, then only other thing I can think of might be to just manually set all your WiFi IP addresses by hand
Thanks for any other ideas on dodging this 2-Wire's DHCP I'd really appreciate it. I'm really hoping i'm just overlooking something SIMPLE.

  • Does ACE-30 support multicast in routed mode?

We currently have ACE20's, which only support multicast in bridge mode.
Was wondering if it's the same on ACE30's, or if Cisco finally implemented support for mcast in routed mode.
    thx
    Kevin

Could you please confirm if this applies to both ACE20 & ACE30, or just ACE20?
If both, when does Cisco plan on supporting mcast in routed mode?
    thx

My Iphone 4, to which all my outlook email is forwarded to. is only receivng some of the emails but not all. It has worked beautifully in the past but no longer. What can I do to get all emails?

I would just explain that this just started happening, that nothing has changed on the phone, that it is an original iPhone and I wondered if they are implementing a change in coverage with their Edge network in my area.
If you restore your phone, you will be given an option to back up your phone at the beginning of the process (see step 6 here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414).  You will be given the option to restore to that backup at the end of the restore process.  Your messages are stored in the backup so restoring to the backup will return the messages to your phone.  Be sure to import your photos and videos to your computer (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083) and back up your contacts somewhere before restoring your phone as these sometimesget lost in the restore process.

  • VMS 2.1 IDS MC & VPN Routers MC Device Import Error

Just installed standalone vms 2.1 and attempted to import devices into IDS MC and VPN Routers MC, but I get errors. The IDS MC error I get is importing configuration files from the sensor Could not find version in
string "Unknown version". I followed the instructions from the following link on cco to resolve this, but no success: http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/rtrmgmt/cw2000/cw2000_b/vpnman/vms_2_1/idsmc/user_gd/ch04.htm#xtocid5

Any advice appreciated and thanks in advance. BTW, versions are IDS Module for 6509 3.0(5)s39 and VPN Router 12.2(T1).

    Just try this : login as root; Run sysconfig-sensor; selec option 9; then 2; then 3; then 1;
This creates host key for your sensor. Then type x till it asks for reboot. Reboot it.
On VMS machine: Run C:\plink -ssh userid@ipaddress
userid = Netranger for sensor appliance and Cisco IDs for IDMs; ipaddress = IP of sensr

the host key or u connected to wrong machine which pretends to be server.
The new key fingerprint is : xxxx
