Which logic boards will fit my Macbook 5,1?

I am looking to upgrade my late 2008 Macbook and would like to replace the logic board instead of purchasing a new computer (I know it's expensive, and I've already upgraded to 8GB of RAM and 750GB storage). Which logic boards are compatible with my Macbook 5,1? I have a 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, so I could feasibly upgrade to the 2.4 GHz late 2008 logic board, but I would like to upgrade quite a bit if possible.

The 5,1 Aluminum Unibody was an oddball in the MacBook series. It doesn't fit in with the rest of the White and Black MacBooks or the 13" MacBook Pros. The 2.4Ghz 5,1 Aluminum Unibody Logic board would fit though.

I have a emac that has a possible bad logic board, it wont fully install OSX. I have tried several different versions with formating the drive everytime clean. I am just looking for a logic board now to replace out. I have seen some 1Ghz boards and wonder if that would fit in my 1.25Ghz machine.

The 1GHz board will install in your 1.25MHz machine. The main difference you will find is that you lose USB 2.0 because the 1GHz board has only USB 1.1. The other difference is that the 1GHz board uses 168 pin PC133 ram and not the PC2700 DDR 333MHz 184 pin ram.But apart from the obvious loss of processor speed everything else will work.

It might work, but the drive in the Powerbook (depending on which PB model it is) is probably much less capable than the one in the MBP was, so I don't recommend the swap.
What is the problem with the drive in your MBP? Maybe we can help you solve that.

What will it cost to get a new logic board in my 17" macbook pro 2.2 i7

Water was spilled on a 17" macbook pro 2.2 i7 early 2011 model and now it won't power up. What will Apple charge me to replace the logic board, which I assume is the problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Will apple replace a faulty or bad logic board on my 2013 MacBook Pro?

I have a late 2013 13" macbook pro that has been diagnosed, by a non apple provider, with a bad logic board. The place where i took it suggested getting that confirmed with Apple. I have an appointment tomorrow at my local apple dealer...
but am worried that this practically new laptop is toast or going to be very costly since I don't have applecare!! Any help for me????

my late 2013 13" pro also has a bad logic board. The diag said it was a memory failure. I'm 3 months out of warranty and had it sent to the repair center for $280 plus tax. I don't feel like the logic board was defective I just didn't catch it in time. I tried a restore a few months ago and it worked better because i was in Yosemite beta since the developers beta and I thought the issues were because of the betas. It has constant panics and restarts but I was trying to get by until now it wouldn't turn on and disk utility said the hard drive was not mounted and it wouldn't let me restore It. maybe there are a few more people with problems then there should be so soon.

Logic board liquid damage of macbook pro retina display late 2012

there were water spilled on my macbook pro 13" retina (late 2012) and I sent it to apple service in Trieste, Italy and they said that the logic board is damaged and I need a new one with a new top case.. which costs as buying a new macbook..is there any suggestions or alternative cheaper way to fix it?!

UJ825C should be the number of the DVD drive. If you click the blue apple and about this mac, that will tell you what the processor speed is. If it's a 1.67Ghz system, click more info, and memory, and if it says DDR2 memory (versus DDR) then you have the last model of the Powerbook, sometimes referred to as high res or high resolution for it's video (and the other 1.67Ghz system, with DDR memory are sometimes referred to as low resolution). Some boards may have a choice of 64MB or 128MB of video memory.
There are several vendors that sell used logic boards, two of which are http://www.ifixit.com and http://www.pbparts.com .

Which logic board did i get?

Well, i caused the damage nobody wants to cause with their Macbook Pro. a usb mouse connector cracked the logic board! I was told by the service shop to make sure to get the model 661-4956 and not the older version 661-4341. I just got it but when i look up some of the numbers on the board, i only find hits for the 4341 board. So the question is, how can I tell the difference?
The only real helpful number i an see is the number 820-2101-A. That is the number that i get hits back for the 661-4341 board. I can't seem to find any good pictures of either board to really find out for sure.
The only other numbers i see are on a bar code on the RAM connector. If any of those numbers would help, i can add them also.
But if there is anyone out there who knows how to tell these apart or what the difference is, i'd greatly appreciate it! Should i even be worried about it?

Bad Logic Board on a 2012 MacBook Pro

I bought a new MacBook Pro five weeks ago. About a week ago it refused to charge. I took it into the Apple store and they told me the logic board is defective and would have to be replaced. Very dissapointing as this is my first Mac.
I am concerned that I will continue to have problems with this computer. Any thoughts? Apple refused to replace the computer and said If I had two more hardware issues then they could return it.

don't worry about what may happen in the future. It will just give you unnecessary anxiety. It was most likley just a faulty logic board and nothing more.

I have found that wireless card with part number PA3212U-3MPCR is the right one for your notebook. The problem is that this card is IEEE 802.11b with 11Mbps data transfer rate.

Spare Logic Board in Argentina for Macbook Are 11

Bought a new Macbook Air at an official distributor in Argentina (Novotech). After a couple of months my Mac died. I went to the distributor, who tells me that there are no spare parts available to solve the problem in Argentina. Apparently, the issue (they say) is that there are some import restrictions in the Argentina, complicating the entrance of the spare parts (in this case the logic board) into the country, hence delaying repairs for over a year. How is it possible that new equipment enters the country, while spare parts not? It doesn’t make sense. What solutions is Apple offering to its clients? Is the second Macbook Air that I own that suffers the same problem, I am very frustrated with this brand that claims to be best quality with premium prices.

What logic boards are compatable with macbook pro mid 2010

i'm just curious about what logic boards are compatable with my macbook pro mid 2010? didn't know if i needed to stay within the same year or if there are others that would work with mid 2010 layout inside the casing. right now i have 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 MB and really looking to upgrade this if i can find one online from a mac with a broken screen or some defect with the logic board intact.

Rather than the Samsung EVO, I would get a Crucial M500 series - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Crucial-960GB-Solid-State-Drive/dp/B00BQ8RGL6/ref=pd_sim _computers_5 - they just seem to 'play well' with Macs where some people have reported problems with Macs and the EVO series.

It has a dock connector so it should play music fine. But the new iPods only charge on 5 volts (the older ones could charge on 5 or 12). If your speakers charge with 12 volts they will not charge the new iPods.
A lot of devices charge at 12 volts (even Apples own Hi-Fi) but most companies seem to be keeping this secret, if you are lucky there will be an FAQ on the company website that will tell you if it's compatible with the iPhone G3 (the first 5v only device).

I have to get a new logic board, will this effect the memory on my 4s?

My iPhone came back with major problems when I let someone borrow it. I went and had it looked at by a genius at the apple store, and he said the logic board was messed up or something and it was probably put through the washer. I forgot to ask a lot of questions. If I get this 'logicboard' or whatever replaced will my memory on the iPhone still be the same? Like, will all of my contacts and apps be there like before? I had very important documents on there and I had no backup. I also want to know if the apple store can do this for me. Thanks in advance.

Failed Logic Board with April 2010 MacBook Pro?

I went to the Genius Bar today to ask about repeated Kernel Errors with my 2010 MacBook Pro. The person who helped me said that the logic board was failing because of the graphics card and that it would cost $310 to repair.
My Mac is an A1286 model with NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M 256 MB Graphics.
Reading about Macs with NVIDIA graphics I immidately found that there were issues with the generation prior to my Mac, 2007-2008 Macs with NVIDIA 8600M GT.
So what I want to know is have any other Mac users had issues with their 2010 Macs and their graphics cards? My Mac has always run hot (too hot to actually use as a laptop because it turns my legs red!) and I figured it was just the nature of the machine. I now have one USB drive that is slowly failing (doesn't like my mouse). I haven't had any weird graphics issues, just the random restarts and a freeze now and then.
