Which module requires more coding?

Hello SDN,
I am trying to assess the different modules extracted in BW in terms of which module is more code intensive such that Abap skills is more required. Bt Abap, I exclude start routines, transfer and update rules. I am more looking at enhancements, user exits, function modules in R/3 and BW.

In terms of quantity I would say LO will be more complex as it covers a lot of modules like SD, MM, etc. FI is one big module wiht lot of submodules.
But from an understanding perspective, FI will be much more complex.

There is no suggestion which can be given for deciding a module in SAP. This selection is driven by knowledge in a specific area together with personal interest. Pursuing a career in SAP or not depends upon your take on consulting and business knowledge. You may visit the Career Center space in SCN to get some more food for your thoughts and decide.

What SAP module is more appropriate for my background?

I'm very interested to join a SAP course in India but i'm really not making any decision so far. which module is more suitable for me and my background.
I have done my Master in "computer science" and my undergrad in "Education in computer". I've asked some guys and some have advised me to go for Basis or BI. I'm telling you that I have no experience in SAP world but I'll take a step further to join the most appropriate course that meets my background.
my Questions are:
- Any requirements to study SAP Basis/BI module in an authorized institute?
- What do u suggest me to study?

BTW, I'd like to get some advices about my situation:
i'm interested to enter into SAP world but i duno which way is more appropriate for me:
1- join a course in a non-authorized institute in India for about 2 months (2 h/day) then join SIEMENS institute (8 h/day) which is authorized then do the exam to be a SAP certified consultant. [a long way, total of studying is 3 months, will cost a bit more]
2- join a course in SIEMENS institute then do the exam to be a SAP certified consultant. [short period .. just 1 month, intensive]
Things to bear in mind:
- no experience in SAP world.
- the aim of studying in a non-authorized institute is to enter into SAP world and make sure if the module is suitable for u or need to switch to another one. studying in a non-institute is a bit cheap.

Which module under SAP is having much requirements in Software industries.?

I am into Software industry from more then 4 years. And i am good at Software skills like Java/J2ee and also im very good at HR Management where i am handling resources and clients more ever im in even into Business development/ Account Management.
My profile is a mixture of all the stuff ie technical and non-technical. So i am confused at this stage in thinking like which module is good as per my profile.. And i want to take up course/module which is very HOT in IT market as off now. I mean having more requirements in India/Abroad/UAE as well. ie probability of getting job should be more.
I am even ok to go for modules like SD,MM, etc which is different from my profile.
IM TOTALLY CONFUSED AT THIS STAGE. REQUESTING you guys to help me out to choose my module under SAP.

Based on your description, I think BI upgrades might be of interest to you.
But based on your other "contributions" to SDN, my opinion is that you should perhaps consider a career in the agricultural sector.
I do both, and it works quite nicely to balance things.

OIM: For which tasks is manual coding necessary?

I am learning OIM a few weeks now. Until now I had only been using the “design console” and the “Admin And User Console”.
Lately I was wondering for which task I would need to manually code something???
Because prior to that I was learning Microsoft ILM and there I had always to code something in Visual Studio, even for small operations.
I am new to OIM, so your response is greatly appreciated! Thank you very much in advance!

Well I have a different opinion for it. In most of the cases this is just a customer driven need that you would require coding or not. Say you have complex workflows to write which could not be achieved through OIM exposed structure and object mappings etc then you would have to do coding.
Now, the other point for OOTB connectors. There you do not require doing coding because they do provide all normal functionalities created within. And in some of the implementations you would find that OOTB connector doesn't support the requirement, and you need to do many modifications around the existing code, but that is acceptable because one need to make an OOTB thing more generic rather than being specific. So in general OOTB connectors are made by keeping in mind the most general practices in mind.
And lastly for the learning purpose, well as you come across new requirements you will eventually realize that for which areas you need to do coding and for which you can just do it with existing OIM objects and also an optimum solution between any of these two in any real-time situation. So its progressive.

Which Module for Vocally challenged Inter C.A. Student

My name is Gaurav Bidasaria. I completed my C.A. Inter but started working as a tech blogger instead. I learned web designing, app development and few other skills during those years. Primary reason for opting this line:
a) Interest in internet and related domain
b) Lack of oral communication (0%)
As far as my voice is concerned, it is partially impaired which means you will understand everything once you spend few days with me. You will also understand almost everything if you meet me the first time, however, I dont think I am suitable for meeting clients, explaining them technical aspects and getting feedback. Interaction with fellow workers will go along just fine.
I am looking for back office job for this reason. Which modules should I undertake? Also, I have heard that being a techno-functional pays good rewards in the long run. I am willing to put in effort, and I am really good at self-learning as I have learnt web designing and App development all by myself. So I am confident I can learn anything anywhere with little help.
I was thinking about going for FI/CO/ABAP/BI modules. Not sure though.

Ah, it has been mentioned daily esp since iOS 5 / iTunes 10.5 but has always been there as an issue.
Order of attempts:
Repair the installers
Uninstall EVERY Apple component (auto and manual)
Services: Restart all 3 Apple items (AMS, Bonjour, iPod)
I* always do the last almost, then launch iTunes, and only then connect iPod.
IF you see a yellow alert in Devices and Printers or in Device Manager, then I could find NO WAY to fix or repair other than a clean OS. Something messed up the device driver support.
If/when Windows asks "what to do when it detects iPod"? don't chose any default action, to me, based on hunch and 3 PCs, that seems to mess AMS up for some reason.
Tried with Windows 7 64-bit Pro and Home Premium, and also Deve Preview 8 (which other than the inability to update iOS to 5.0 seems to run better -- except when it comes to AMS thing! so seems Apple is not on the same page writitng drivers.

Setting up inspection point in a scenario require more than one inspection

Maybe I am still not very clear on the PP-QM conceptu2026 hope you can see my problem on the following questionu2026..
According to SAP in the QM-production environment, we key in ONE inspection point in the task list header level (i.e. either the master recipe, routing, or rate of routing).
Based on the following business scenario which is going to use inspection point for the inspection:
u2022     Time-based intervals (for example, an inspection point every hour or for each work shift)
u2022     Quantity-based intervals (for example, an inspection point for each container)
u2022     Freely-defined intervals (for example, an inspection point each time a tool change occurs)
Since each of the above scenarios require more than one inspection points to be created and to be assigned to the task list header.
Thus, how to accomplish multiple inspection point assignment when the task-list header only allow me to assign one inspection point at a time?

Thanks. However, in the SAP help portal it does said the system allows several inspection points to be assigned to an inspection operation whether it is in routing or recipe.
Therefore, does it means I can assign more than one inspection points in the operation detail level for either recipe or routing if I will to click the u201CNo relationu201D radio button in the u201CQuality Management: Inspection Pointu201D section. (i.e. is this is the right place to allows this assignment)?
For example, on the change master recipe screen at the Operation tab, I highlight one line item (i.e. one operation line item and zoom into this operation line item, I donu2019t see any field box that allow me to assign several inspection points to an operation? Instead, on the u201CQuality Management: Inspection Pointu201D section, there are the following fields appear:
- Insp.pointCompletion dropdown box
- 4 radio buttons on the inspection interval (ie. Time-related, Qty-related, No-relation) and its subseq time and quantity value input box.
- Quan.pt. lot checkbox
- Last Part Lot Assgmt checkbox
Thus, where is the section in the operation overview screen at Master Recipe or Routing level that I can assign several inspection points?

ISSUE: "This domain controller must register a DNS SRV resource record, which is required for replication to function correctly"

so we currently have three domain controllers set up, two of them on 2012r2 and one of them on 2008r2. prior to any of these domain controllers being added to the domain there was only one, running on 2003r2. the 2003r2 server was up and running when the
first 2012r2 was added and that's when running 'dcdiag /e /c /v' would yield an issue with "_ldap._tcp.9a5f3c17-e7ac-48f7-ab42-bf1ea621a6f5.domains._msdcs.cmedia.local" in the DNS portion of the diagnostics, specifically:

I've tried scanning and then re-scanning every single entry in DNS Manager and do not see any reference to this specific GUID mentioned, nor do I see any other domain controllers referenced that should not be in there. The two 2012r2 and the 2008r2 domain
controllers are the only ones listed in DNS Manager... the 2003r2 mentioned earlier failed and was removed.

Just to chime in, I noticed that you said you have one 2008 R2 DC, and two 2012 DCs.
I also noticed in the ipconfig /all that all DCs are pointint to themselves for DNS. We usually like to see them point to a partner, then itslelf as the second entry, w hether loopback or by its own IP.
Based on that, what I suggest to level the playing field by choosing the WIndows 2008 R2 DC as the first DNS on all DCs and only administer DNS using that DC. The reason I chose that is because of the least common denominator is what we rather use so we
don't invoke any new features in the newer 2012 DNS console that 2008 R2 may not understand. After that's done, on each DC run (and you can use a PowerShell window to run this):
Rename the system32\config\netlogon.dns and netlogon.dnb files by suffixing ".old" to the file.
ipconfig /registerdns
net stop netlogon
net start netlogon
Then re-run the dcdiag /e /c /v.

I have done BBA & MBA (Finance & Marketing). Having 6.5 years of experience in Sales n Marketing in FMCG sector. Currently working as Area Sales Manager but now I want to do SAP module. But now m totally confused which module to opt as someone suggested to go for SD as u r from sales background, some suggested doesn't matter from which background you are so you can opt for BI as there is a huge scope for job. It would b great if seniors SAP consultant will guide n suggest me to choose the module.
M looking for your valuable advise so that I can decide as i don't have any knowledge about SAP n their module.

Its great to know that you have good amount of domain experience
Off course you will get different opinion from different people as their view points are based on some key facts, thought process, their perception etc.
However I would say you should think logically for your case.
First : If we go by your education then Finance & Marketing are suitable for you.
Second: However we should not undermine your experience in Sales & Marketing. And if we go by your experience then you should be in SAP SD which your education also supports partly.
Third: If we consider your FMCG expereince then SAP IS Retail would be nice option as A challenging market, coupled with competition from around the world and an abundance of information available at shoppers’ fingertips, makes today’s shopper more powerful than ever.
Fourth: Reporting is there in every sap module and being in BI would make sense if your focus is only reporting but considering the fact that sap is constantly upgrading only BI experience may not be great as HANA is in the cards and there is a paradimn shift already noticed in many organisation.
Fifth: Dont underestimate your interest however while pursuing your interest then consider all facts instead of only interest as you need other stuff as well other than only interest to taste success for your any career in this case being sap career.
So based on the above facts about your education, experience, interest probably you can think about SAP SD & IS Retail. Also dont forget while learning sap, focus is mostly on business process as ultimately you will be configuring, testing and implementing respective business processes, so if we dont understand the business processes itself then learning sap would be not much of use as i am sure you dont want to brand yourself just as a configurator or testor for your lifetime.

LabView Step Module requires an input path defined

I have a sequence step that calls a LabView module requiring a file path as an input parameter. If I select the Default checkbox in the module tab, which results in the path defined as a default value in the vi to be used, the step works successfully. If I de-select the Default checkbox and define the exact path in the TestStand expression field, the step does not work successfully. Note: the file path has a \N in the sequence of characters, i.e., "C:\Program Files\National Instruments\ ...". TestStand is interpreting the \N as a new line and this causes the resulting path to be corrupted. If I escape this, i.e., \\N, things work fine. My question is, how do I get around this without having to escape? TestStand documentation discusses defining strings as either ascii or binary, but this is not an option for a path data type.

If you manually type the string value for that parameter, you will have
to include escape characters, entering double backslashes for every
single backslash. However, if the string is passed as a variable, the
escaping is done automatically, so in that case you wouldn't need to
include the double backslashes. Since you are entering the string
directly into the "Value" field of this module's parameter, you will
need to include the escape characters for this path to be interpreted
correctly.

i dont know how can i get this requirment
so please tel me how can i check sql statments which they consuming more memory in my server

For the same, I suppose ?
Use Transaction ST03, choose the period (day, week or month), select "Memory Use Statistics" and sort by "Average Total Memory Usage " or "Maximum Extended Memory Usage".
Check specially if some programs use Private Memory.
