Which more beneficial data recovery services or data recovery softwares?

I am just try to figure out some thing which works best out of these two. As recently have gone through a recovery company Stellar Data Recovery http://www.stellarinfo.co.in/company/company.php . And after surveying i found companies proving software also.
The services paid more isnt it? but the recovery is maximum. what you think?

Service rendered date in invoice

Hello,
The problem i am facing is with the service rendered date at invoice item level. I have created invoice through milestone billing plan assigned to the item category.The service rendered date is given in the order item level .
When i invoice the order the service rendered date in the invoice item level is the billing date in the billing plan, which is different from the service rendered date in the order.
When tax is determined in the order based on the sevrice rendered date in the order , where as the tax is redetermined in the invoice considering the new service rendered date.
Please inform the reason for the same and how could i avoid the problem . My requirement is that the service rend. date in the invoice should be same as in the order , not the billing date .
Billing type i am using is milestone billing and billing relevance in the item category is "I" order related billing_billing plan.

The behaviour being experienced is standard. The item category has
billing relevance of 'I'.
In this case, please check the following coding:

How service render date gets populated ?

I am looking for the logic by which FBUDA (structure RV60A) i.e. service render date is getting populated when we are using vf04 and we are not inputting the service render date in the parameters?

How to set Service render date should be equal to Billing date

Hi All,
At present when invoice is created the service rendered date (FBUDA) is taken as the basis for the Rebate condition types to select the condition value from the agreement.
The business requires that for the rebate conditions, service rendered date should be equivalent to the billing date, so that correct agreement is selected based on the billing date.
Required Change: Service Rendered date should be equivalent to the Billing Date for only Rebate condition Types and only for particular Sales Org.
To achieve this how can I proceed, I have gone through all user-exist for billing no where I have found
Could you please guide me to achieve this functionality?

I dont think there is anything in configuration to set the service rendered date. You only have to use an user exit.
Without any customisation, the system will take the pricing date as Service rendered date.
You can try USEREXIT_MOVE_FIELD_TO_VBAK to move the billing date field also to VBAK-FBUDA.

Data recovery service?

Hi Everbody!
A (clumsy) friend/client (lets call him a criend ) of mine has dropped his harddisk in a changeover operation. It holds 6 years of his personal (guitar) recordings.
He told me it schreeches (and is of course not 'seen' by his machine), which means it is at least partly physically damaged, so his only hope is with one of those companies that can still salvage some of the content by opening the disk in a dustfree lab. I also remember this is not too cheap, my criend has indicated that his maximum budget for this is € 500/$ 600.
Anybody have any good tips? I gues location is not too important, the combination price/craftspersonship is matters much more.

If there is a scratching noise forget about repairing the disc.
There are some things you should know about hds.
The head doesn't have any contact to the disc when it is in operation.
It a kind of air cushion which prevents the disc from beeing destroyed by the head.
When there is a physical defect the head can destroy the surface of the disc. In this case you will hear a scratching noise.
The disc turns around with 5000-10000rpm.
Imagine there is a fingerprint on the disc. The fingerprint will vaporize immediately when the head gets over the fingerprint with 7000rpm. The head will be destroyed. Same with dust. So a dust-free room labor is needed to repair the disc.
Be careful:
Data rescue services will charge you a lot of money and tell you a lot of weird things to make you pay lots of money without any guarantee!
When there is a single scratch on the disc there is no way!! of getting the data back, regardless of what they tell you. You could never repaire the disc in this case because at speed 5000 the replaced head will be destroyed immediately by the scratch on the disc. It is only a few naometer air cushion, while the scratch is much much deeper!!! When starting the hd, the head always starts from the side of the disc until the air cushion is built up because otherwise the disc would be dammaged immediately.
And there is another aspect. You cannot!!! recover audio files when parts of the audio files are damaged. This has to do with the structure of audio files and is different from jpegs for example. Jpegs can be reconstructed even if parts of the file are damaged. Not so with audio files, never!
So the only chance to get the data back is when there is no damage on the surface of the disc. U should not pay a cent until the data recovery service tells you: "We opened the hd and there is no scratch on the disc!"

Crashed Hard Disk! What is the Hard Drive Data Recovery Service, & why wasn't it offered?

I thought I had purchased the best extended warranty available. Apparently the 3-year warranty I bought didn't include the Hard Drive Recovery Service. I can't help but wonder why it wasn't mentioned when I bought the extended warranty. Now I have a trashed HD, and am looking at where I go from here. I was told I should send the drive back to Toshiba... the manufacturer... for the most secure data recovery. WHAT NOW? who can steer me toward the best solution. Of course, I don't have unlimited funds... and someone said it would probably cost $500 to $1000 to recover the info on my HD. Arrgggh. Help.
This is a TouchSmart Tx2 laptop... not even a year old. Under original warranty and has the 3-year extended warranty.

Do you know anything about carbonite? Perhaps had I gotten that service, I wouldn't be in this position. I do back up a lot, when I'm at home. However, we have been traveling for a coupe of months... and I'm a photographer. Poof. photos. Important ones! The tech who looked at my drive after putting it in an enclosure said he didn't "see" any files on it. He said he HOPED I could get them recovered. Gave me a sick feeling, as he didn't seem very hopeful that even data recovery would work.

Need info about data recovery services

My main hard drive on my Mac G5 crashed on Saturday, and I'm sending it to Drive Savers today. My question concerns security and confidentiality. I have some files on the drive that I would prefer that no one looks at. To what extent, if any, do these places open and look at the contents of individual files? I can't imagine they look at everything. A typical drive like this will have 100s of thousands if not millions of files.

The sad reality is that once you hand over your data to anybody you really have no assurance that your files will not be looked at.
Most likely I would suppose that data-recovery services would not want to get a bad reputation as "the company that looks through your personal data", or something similar, and would be sensitive to such things.
I would suggest a Google search of that recovery company and see what folks might have to say.
I have all of my stuff backed u in triplicate, generally due to paranoia about things like this happening. This is unfortunately an expensive and scary lesson in support of a proper backup routine.

Affordable data recovery service?

Hard drive's dead....can anyone recommend an affordable data recovery service? Tekserv in NYC charges $600 plus the cost of a new drive for a total of $850--online they seem to range from $250 to $850.
Does anyone know how good/reliable the $250 services are? I'd appreciate any advice--thx

I would not use tekserve they are not a data recovery company and either use some high end sw or send it out to a real dr company. I just used ontrack and got a 1200$ quote for my 1Tb raid-0, haven't done it yet

Data recovery service for dead HD

My HD had to be removed (and replaced) after it could not b recognized. does anyone know a good data recovery service that I can send my old one to retrieve client files ( mainly quark, Photoshop and indesign files)

Do yourself a favor, and get a good external HD, at least twice the size of the data that is (or was) on your internal HD, and start making backups with Time Machine or another app.
Then the next time this happens (and all hard drives fail, sooner or later), you won't lose everything.

I have done that and it is definitely on. My husband has the exact same phone and I upgraded his IOS at the same time, but this problem is not happening to his phone (we are also on the same plan, so our service should be the same). Our settings appear to be identical and my phone is showing the 3G symbol at the top, so I can't understand why it won't access the network.
I've turned it on and off twice and have reset all settings with my iTunes account, but it still isn't working.
I'm not a complete idiot with this sort of stuff - I have tried all the obvious things.

Help: recovery of deleted data

I have tried to re-install MasOs X after a failure at the start of my i-book G4. It deleted all my data, which contain 3 months of very important work. (sob)
How can I do to recover them?

When re-installing OS X, your options are Archive & Install or Erase & Install.
If you selected Archive & Install, did you select preserve user and network settings?
If you selected Archive & Install but didn't select preserve user and network settings, all previous user settings and data is located in an archived previous system folder.
If you selected Erase & Install, your hard drive was erased first and then OS X was re-installed.
Regardless, it sounds like you don't maintain a backup of your important data which is like driving a car without any insurance.
If you selected Erase & Install and you obviously don't maintain a backup, your options are not very promising.
To have any hope of recovering your data, you need to immediately stop using your system and then purchase a copy of a recovery tool such as Tech Tool Pro (Micromat) or Data Rescue (Prosoft Engineering), both of which have data recovery tools. (Data Rescue has a free Demo version.) I've not used Data Rescue, but I've seen reports that it recovers files that the others cannot, so it might be your best hope. The chances generally aren't really good even so, but short of sending your drive to a data recovery service (expensive), such utilities are your only hope.
Note the more you use your system before you attempt recovery, the more likely it is that the system will overwrite the sections of the drive where the data you want to recover is stored, rendering it unrecoverable by any means. You should therefore stop using the system completely until you get and try to use one of the file recovery tools.
This also emphasizes the importance of maintaining a regular backup and although unfortunate, this may the painful lesson learned that will motivate you to start backing up your important data. In addition, it isn't a matter of if but when your hard drive has a partial or complete failure since none last forever.
