Which movement type to show Directly Procured material in stock?

Hi All
Is there another movement type that I can use to reverse from a network, Directly Procured material in to stock?
Our issue is that we plan and have delivered directly procured material to out production plant (Plant A) and the PO has an account assignment of 'N'. The production team then decide (due to unforseen issues) that they do not need it anymore for that network/WBS and want to send it to our central warehouse (Plant B)
In order to recover the cost from the network, we process MB1A mvt 222 with reference to the WBS in Plant A and then stock transfer to our central warehouse, Plant B
My question is....can we use another movement type to remove the cost from the project/network/WBS and return the material in to stock?
I don't want to reverse the PO but can i use that as a reference?
Your help is appreciated
Regards
Darren

MB1A transaction is a goods issue
goods issues are valuated with the material master valuation price.
in goods issues you cannot reference purchase orders (this is only possible in receipts)
there is no goods receipt transaction for material which was already received against a PO.
You credit the network with the leading price from material master, there is no value flow in the opposite direction. But you can control the valuation if you allow external value entry in the movement, which is usually not liked by auditors, especially as such movements are executed by warehouse personnel

  • Movement Type for GR to Post material in COST center

    Hi ...
Do I need to use 101 Movement type even to  Post Material into consumption...
    or
in simple words if i have account category "K" in Purchase Order then which Movement type I should select to prepare GR and do I need to use same MIGO transaction.
    Regards/SANDEEP

    Hi,
Basically <b>101 Movement type</b> would mean that the Goods are being received into the enterprise (could be a Warehouse,Cost Center or a Logical Storage location).
<b>Migo</b> is  a transaction which enables to document the Goods Receipt and henec this needs a reference document which could be a PO ,Production Order etc,.
In the normal Goods Receipt into a Warehouse against a PO the Goods are valuated(Inventorised in Physical & Financial Terms).
In the case of the goods received against a PO for cost center the value is directly posted into the <b>Consumption account</b> instead of the <b>Stock account</b> in case of the  former
I hope the above is sufficient.

  • Which movement type to use?

    Hi Experts,
For a particular material, there are 10 items in blocked status in SAP while the goods have already been removed in WMS around 5months back. Now I want to delete the 10 quantity in SAP to get the data in sync. Which movement type should be used here?
    Regards,
    AK

Now I want to delete the 10 quantity in SAP to get the data in sync.
You don't "delete" stock in SAP. To know what movement you need to use, you need to know the business context that made the 10 units "disappear", for example: internal consumption to cost center (201), scrapping (551), inventory (701/702), goods issue for customer (601), etc.
Without knowing what happened to the 10 units you can't know which movement to use. In order to determine the context, you need to do what Jurgen suggested, find the communication that failed.

  • Movement type issue-Generate HU packing material item in inbound dlv

    Dear All,
I am using handling unit management with automatic generation of packaging material item in outbound and inbound delivery.
I am facing a problem in inter-company and intra-company STO flows.
For inter-co flow, I create PO doc type NB and an outbound delivery. When I do GI for this, and inbound delivery (EL) gets created. The movement type for generated packing items is 601 in outbound deliveries and 501 in inbound deliveries. That is working fine.
For intra-co flow, I have PO type UB and outbound delivery. When I do GI, again the inbound delivery type getting created is EL and the movement type for generated packing item in inbound delivery is again 501.
    According to SAP:
Movement types for stock transfer within a company code:
For the movement types of the generated packaging material items, you use
603 (outbound deliveries) and 605 (inbound deliveries).
Movement types for stock transfers between company codes:
For the movement types of the generated packaging material items, you use
601 (outbound deliveries) and 501 (inbound deliveries).
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
    Sorry, I think I made  a mistake.
I have just found out that it's not possible to assign several confirmation category....
Since you are using SPED output, system calls FM GN_DELIVERY_CRATE  to create inbound delivery.
Maybe you need to do modification.

Here is where system set USAGE for item category determination.
In standard logic, for PO inbound delivery, it's using 'V' to determine item category.
If you need, maybe you can consider to do modification here to set different USAGE indicator to determine different item category.

  • About Movement type used in Goods Issue from Subcontracting Stock directly

    HI SAP MM Expert,
We have transfer material to subcontractor through transfer posting using Mvt. 541 and raised subtracting challan also. Material is not returned by Subcontractor and  now we want to debit Subcontractor A/c . For w we want to mkae Goods Issue (Direct consumption)  from Subcontracting Stock and raised debit note subcontractor through FI. In this case what movement type & Transaction code  should be used to consume stock from subcontractor account and t.code for raising debit note to subcontractor in SAP R/3 system.
    Pls. suggest the process.
    Regards
    VKM

For subsequent adjustment to subcontracting stock use transaction MB04
If the vendor informs you that a greater or smaller quantity of the components was actually consumed than planned in the purchase order, you must post a subsequent adjustment to correct the goods issue posting. The value of the goods receipt is recalculated to include the
subsequent adjustment quantity. (SAP transaction MB04)
Subsequent Adjustment to Subcontracting PO (Move 121/544)
Negative adjustment (Vendor Consumed Less but you Consumed
more in SAP and subsequently you did minus adjustment to component consumption
    in SAP)
    Debit
      - Raw Material Inventory (S)
    Credit
    - Vendor Subcontracting Charges (H)
Subsequent Adjustment to Subcontracting PO (Move 121/543)
Positive adjustment (Vendor consumed more but you consumed
less in SAP and subsequently you added further component consumption in SAP)
    Credit
    - Raw Material Inventory (H)
    Debit
    - Vendor Subcontracting Charges (S)
    Thanks

  • Configuration: Which Movement Types Involve Excise Invoices

    Hi,
Please suggest what movement types are required to be entered in this IMG activity and against which register?
Is this settings required for only capturing incoming excise invoices from outside vendors and STO’s?
    regards

    dear mr verma
mvt type 101, 103, 105, represents inward movements of materials and you have to maintain them as they are relevant for excise.
601 & 122 represents outward movements of materials from factory and you have to maintain them as they are relevant for excise.
You have to enter these movement types too. If you don't enter now, you will have to enter it later when some problem arises.

  • Stock Transfer using movement type 309 of in-transit material

    Hi Gurus,
We have a scenario where we want to post a 309 movement type on an intransit STO stock (sto is done from PWO, this is done to solve a SOX compliance problem). But it seems that this is not possible as the 309 can not be posted without a s. loc. Is there any alternative to this? Can a two step transfer using 313 and 315 do the trick? Please advise.
    Thanks

In real life you cannot do anything to a material that is somewhere on the road, hence it is pretty limited what you can do in SAP.
What exactly do you want to do?

  • Movement type for customer supplied packing material returns

    Hi,
The scenario is like this, customer will give the packing material to the company.Company does the service required  &  return that packing material to customer.Presently we are using 624V movement type can you suggest some other movement type for this.
    Regards,
    Rajesh

    hi,
this is to inform you that,
if customer is supplying the packaging material to us receive it through 501 - M and Issue 502 - M, manually if you want to track the packing material wise take the material into NON VALUATED ITEM.
you can create a Z report for the same and the fields in that is,
material number, packing material associated with that, quantity received thru 501 - M and consumed against 502 - M and GI quantity.

  • Custom movement type not showing up in pull-down menu

    Hi all,
I created a custom movement type to transfer QI stock in one plant to QI stock in another plant.  The movement is working correctly in MIGO by choosing transfer and then entering my custom movement type into the movement type field; however, it's not showing up if you just do a pull down.  You must enter it manually for it to work.  Does anyone know what I missed on the setup that's making it not show up in the list?
    Thanks!

  • Which movement type use for return stock form one plant to other plant  in

HI friends i am working on STO PROCESS
i need to transfer return stock from one plant to other plant as a return stock i am using Mvt type 455
    but system shows  following error
Update control of movement type is incorrect (entry 455 X X _ L)
    Message no. M7226
    Diagnosis
The system could not find entry 455 X X _ L in any of the movement type control tables.
    Procedure
    Cancel current processing.
    Contact your system administrator.
Action to be taken by the system administrator
Check in Customizing for Inventory Management under Copy, Change Movement Types whether the entry is contained in the Update control view for the movement type.
If the entry is missing, proceed as follows:
For standard movement types, this means that the given process is not supported using the present data combination. Do not create any entries without prior arrangement with your SAP consultant. Otherwise, incorrect postings may result.
For customer-defined movement types (beginning with 9, X, Y, or Z), this may mean that they have not been fully defined. Delete the movement type and re-create it by copying a standard movement type.
    thanks in advance

    Hello,
I think there is a standard STO movement type you can use. But I can't remember. Why don't you try to find it and test if it fit your requirement?
There are some information for your reference. Please check on website:
    http://www.sap-img.com/materials/difference-for-stock-transfer-and-transfer-posting.htm
    Using STO without delivery:
      doc.type: UB
      GI:351, GR:101
      STO with delivery:
      GI:641, GR:101
      delivery type:NL
      STO with delivery and billing:
      GI:643, GR:101
      delivery type:NLCC , billing type:IV
And if you want to use the way to return the goods replenishment, try to flag the return checkbox while you create purchase order item. Of course, corresponding configuration is required.

  • Directly procured materials in stock help

    To All
We currently have a problem when dealing with directly procured materials.
Following a completed build of our product we have a surplus of directly proceured materials that have been ordered in error or are a result of specification changes.
We want to re-use them for future demand. Therefore, we return them from a network and put into our warehouse and in a bin. The problem arises when the planners create a new demand because the material master data will order the part as a directly procured part and will 'not see' the one we are showing in stock.
Therefore, my questions is, can a part be set up to look for stock initially and if no stock then order part as a directly procured part?
    Thanks in advance
    Darren

    Saleel
The material IS in stock showing in the same Plant, Sloc and Warehouse that the planners use to plan the completed product.
The material is in stock as it has been returned from the network (MB1A mvt 222) However, the material is planned in a BoM as a directly procured part as per the material master settings. When a new demand is loaded in the system, according to the material master settings it will order a directly procured part and not utilise the stock in the warehouse.
I am looking for help that when a demand is loaded, SAP will reserve the stock of a directly procured part and not order externally.
Movement 561 is an initial stock load movement type and is not recommended at any other time due to the lack of financial documents albeit a very easy way to load inventory. We use LICC/LX16 to adjust inventory in accordance with auditing rules.
    Thanks you for your response

  • Movement type 101 for receiving plant for returning stock

    all,
This may sound a silly question, but I just want to double check and double confirm.
Our plant supplying stock to another plant (let's call plant B), however, sometimes the plant B will return back unacceptable stock back to us. What plant B do is that they wll create a return PO with flag on the return indicator. Next they will do a picking/packing, and perform a GR (i.e. movement type 161).
Next, we will perform a 101 goods receipt into our system.
At this point, my question are:
1 - during GR - 101 of this bad quanlity stock, can I do a GR into BLOCKED STOCK TYPE by select the dropdown block stock in MIGO, will system accept.
    2 - instead of performing 101 GR, can I perform a 103 (i.e. GR into GR-blocked stock)?
3 - our system OPPI setup is that the blocked stock is not taken into MRP calculation, thus, both of above method will prohibit them in MRP calculation. correct?
    thanks.

    Hi
1 - during GR - 101 of this bad quality stock, can I do a GR into BLOCKED STOCK TYPE by select the drop down block stock in MIGO, will system accept.
DO goes to Quality inspection stock or unrestricted stock  and from there it should be transfered to blocked stock but directly it will not go to blocked stock in receiving plant
    2 - instead of performing 101 GR, can I perform a 103 (i.e. GR into GR-blocked stock)?
    Not sure
