  • Which MP3 is the smalle

Which MP3 is the smallest, lightest and most thin. One that would be good for running?

I dunno about smallest, but I run with the Zen V. I just got a 4 Gig one to replace my Gig (I stepped on it )?It fits perfectly in the little pocket you find in the front of running shorts - I think that it is meant for keys or something. Good luck. Eric

  • Change Text Color Dynamically Depending on Which MP3 File is Playing

Change Text Color Dynamically Depending on Which MP3 File is
    Playing
    Hi,
Can anyone help with this problem.
I am trying to change a text cast member's color dynamically
based on which audio file is currently playing.
I have 4 Text Cast member buttons named
    Play Song 1
    Play Song 2
    Play Song 3
    Play Song 4
I am successfully playing the 4 songs in a queue like this
(ie. If "Play Song 1" sprite text member is pressed then...
    sound(1).queue(member "Song1")
    sound(1).queue(member "Song2")
    sound(1).queue(member "Song3")
    sound(1).queue(member "Song4")
    sound(1).play
What I would like to do is to have the currently playing song
text color changed to a different value, say Green.
So if "Song2" in the queue starts to play then the text "Play
Song 2" would become Green. When done it would then turn back to
black then "Song3" starts to play and "Play Song 3" text script
button would then turn from black to Green an so on.
These are the codes I've tried in the frame script and none
    seem to work...
    on enterFrame me
    if sound(1).status = 3 then member("Play Song 1").foreColor=5
(This works but only for the first song because "Play Song 1"
is directly named and clicked on.)
    else member("Play Song 1").foreColor=255
    end if
I have tried to make a reference to the playing song and so
far each of these doesn't work...
    --if sound(1).status = 3 then
    sprite(me.sound.member).foreColor=5
    --if sound(1).status = 3 then
    sprite(me.spriteNum).member.color=rgb(0,255,0)
    --if sound(1).status = 3 then member
    (sound(1).member).foreColor=5
    --text = member(whichMember).scriptText
    end
Is there any way to reference the song name text cast
    member??
I thought I had it when I discovered sound(1).member but
sound(1).showProps returns the playing sound.member as
member: (member 28 of castLib 1) nothing there I can use?
It doesn't show the member name and
It doesn't show the song name "Song1" which I could then
match up to the "Play Song 1" text
I'm pretty new to lingo so specific code examples would be
    appreciated.
    Can anyone help??? Thanks!!!

did you get anywhere with this?
When applying a styleClass to a af:showDetailItem, it doesnt seem to have any effect whatsoever.

  • Which software do you use to directly edit tags on your MP3 pla

    Hi all,
I recently bought a Creative Zen PhotoMicro. I'm very happy with it.
Due to my old home computer (with 8gb hard dri've...) I'm storing all my MP3 collection on several CD-Rs. I have transferred the MP3-files directly to my Zen via drag-'n-drop in Windows Explorer.
Recently I have discovered some mistakes in a lot ID3 tags of my MP3-files on my Zen. With the freeware application MediaMonkey it seems i can edit the tags just like I want to, but after reloading an album folder the changes weren't committed to my Zen.
With the Creative software suite it is possible to edit some the tags in batch, like Genre, Album and Artist names, but I need more clever tricks to update my tags (which Mediamonkey supports, but that doesn;t work...)
Anyone has a good working piece of software which is capable of batch processing ID3 tags on your Creative MP3 player? Please share your thoughts.
    Sappollo

And also MediaMonkey does work, you just have to hit "ctrl-s" to sync up the changes made within MediaMonkey to actually adjust the files.

  • Transferring Songs from Computer to MP3 Pla

I bought a creative zen sleek photo last July and it always takes me awhile to put new songs on it as I have to drag and drop or to rip a CD. So I was wondering if creative had anything like itunes where you could have all of your music on your computer on a program and then to update your mp3 player you could eaily plug it into the computer and then quickly update it. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

How are you putting songs on it at the moment? Which application are you using? The player comes with MediaSource which is an application you can use to transfer content to the player, if you have a large amount of music it'll just queue them for transfer and go through the list. If you have ripped a CD, then you can save it on your harddri've so you don't have to rip it again in future.

  • Help on recommending a Creative mp3 pla

    Hello.
I don?t know too much about these things but I?m hoping someone would help. Thanks. =)
Basically I am after a Creative mp3 player that meets the following:
    - Budget of spending ?75 (if slightly above may consider)
    - FM radio and record radio
    - Line in function (so for example if something was on MTV I could record music off it via a jack going from the TV headphone socket directly to the mp3 player)
    - lit up LCD display
    - 40gb space
    - purely for music storage and playback, not bothered about video playback or anything else just music. Added bonus if it includes that anyhow =P
    - Plays wide range of music formats such as wav, ogg, asf etc
    - fast music transfer (most likely usb2.0)
The above features is the main important things that need including and ALL of them. I?m trying not to go off topic on Creative products but what I have my eyes on right now is the MPIO HD300 for around ?70, although I?ve not heard entirely positi've customer feedbacks about them?.. Still the MPIO HD300 sounds very good as it has the functions I am looking for and slightly more. But if there?s something better in the Creative department within my spending I?ll be sure to go for that!
I could just cut that babble and say I need someone to recommend me a Creative player that?s better than or along the same lines as the MPIO HD300 (40gb) and within ?75.
See I could just buy that MPIOHD300 as it has everything I need, but I need to buy it as a gift for someone and they are asking for a Creative player bah! Why can't buying stuff be simple argghhhh.
Please help me out people. Sorry for the babbling, need to make sure I get it right.
    THANKS! =)

Vision M looks VERRRY nice, unfortunately it hasn't got what I want from what I've read such as 'line in' (or does it's?), doesn't support as many audio formats.
Just minor issues but I do need them to be included.
30gb would have been ok if it had the required features I was after. I was just watching the flash demo of the vision M. Just out of curiosity can you record as much radio as you want from it until the memory is full? Or are you limited to a certain amount of time you can record from radio?
Also I wonder why a lot of mp3 players don't have the 'line-in' function. I'm sure just about everyone would make use of it. It just doesn't seem to be a standard feature which is a bit crazy.
Zen V Plus would have just about been ok but it's limited to 4gb in space. I had a look this morning through the products doesn't look like any other Creative players fit the match.
Looks like the gift won't be a Creative.
Ahhhh well. I'll have to see what other brand players are knocking about. I'm assuming I can't get help on that here but that's cool.
    Thanks for helping =)

  • Unrecognized mp3 pla

Hello, this is the first time on the board and I have a very taxking problem. To start I am running windows xp svc pak3. 3.2mhz 2.5gb of memory, 300gm hard dri've with 65% free and a second hd of 250gb. I have plenty of speed and memory.
I have a Creative ZEN Xtra, NOMAD Jukebox 40gb mp3 player.
Everything started when I tried to syncronize my mp3 player with my (NEW) computer. I forgot to put the Jukebox program on the computer. Then could not find the original disk. I went online and downloaded the updated firmware and software, then connected the mp3 player to the computer. Windows xp recognized the mp3 player but the Creative Organizer did not detect the mp3 player.
I tried following instructions to upgrade the firmware, which I believe I did ok, but Creative software still did not recognize the mp3 player.
Then I screwed up! The only window I had on the mp3 player was the "Rescue Mode" so I tried (one at a time) the different options. . Clean up, 2. Format All, 3. Reload OS and 4. Reboot. So the music is gone (I have it on the computer though) and no matter what I do I can not get the Creative Program to detect the mp3 player. When I connect it to the computer, windows recognizes it and wants to know if I want to syncronize.
When I turn the MP3 player on (not connected to the computer) I get on screen that goes away to fast for me to read it, and then goes to the Rescue Mode window. When I connect it to the computer? the Rescue Mode window changes to an icon indicating that there is data being passed between the mp3 player and the computer.
Another bit on info, Creative tech support has been trying to help, by haveing me? download firmware and mp3 recovery tools, but unless the mp3 recovery tool program can recognized my mp3 player it is no use.
Now does anyone have any ideas, and does anyone know of a reputable repair shop for this mp3 player (preferably in the Dallas/Ft Worth TX area).
    Thanks
    Richard

You have used the player on this computer before? When did you install service pak3. I believe that may be your problem? Check to see if WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER is installed on the new one. If you have access to a different computer running Xp Service Pak2 it will be easier to remedy the problem. What firmware was on the player prior to the problem & are you SURE you got the correct driver from the website as it is not as easy as going to the page & finding your player. (Down in the bottom right of the page for your player there is a box that says Manual Selection with 3 drop boxes ) you choose you O.S 2)Language 3)all or firmware ,drivers ,app. then Submit. If you didn't go through those steps before downloading you Don't have all you needed.)http://forums.creative.com/creativel...id=6893#M28836Just so you know the new service pack is diffently an issue read this thread in order for you to updater the firmware one ket thing is you need service pack2 and the driver and had you EVER updated the firmware prior or was it the original.

  • I really need help with my creative MuVo N200 mp3 pla

i got my MuVo N200 mp3 player for chirtmas of last year, and it stopped working in 3 months. it used to shut off every few minutes and the mic doesnt work any more and i cant record music from the radio. right now it doesnt even work for a minute, it shuts off as soon as i try and turn it on. i emailed creative when it first started happening and they sent me a email saying what to do on there website, something about downloading something. i tryed it and it didnt work, im not sure if i didnt do it right. And right now i have no idea what to do. and creative won't help me unless i pay them money to fix it for me which im not about to do. has anyone have the same problem with the MuVo N200 mp3 player? what am i suppose to do to fix it's I still have there email telling me what to do, but i just dont get how to do it and if it will work. It only worked for me 3 months, and now im mad and thinking about buying a new one thats not from creative but i really want to try fixing it again to see if it will work. please help me.

Good question, unfortunately I have absolutely no idea. Reflashing/-formatting generally takes care of the usual cases of wonkyness this player develops, and there isn't anything more drastic you as a user could do.
Do you have a directory named "Recorded Tracks" on your player? Should be created automatically, but if it isn't you could try creating it manually...

  • Jukebox Zen--new laptop not reading MP3 pla

I bought a new laptop and it's got all the power I need. I installed the Zen software, and plugged in the MP3 player to the laptop to download the updates from this website, but the MP3 player is not reading the laptop and vice versa. The only thing that happens when I plug it in is the MP3 player goes on and plays music. How can I fix this?
Also, I downloaded some of the updates and a warning came up that I shouldn't download further b/c my O/S (Windows XP Home) may not be compatible with the program and could screw up my system. What now?

    NYBtrfly
Try uninstalling all the MediaSource application and driver from the computer. Next go to the website and download the latest driver, MediaSource application and Nomad Pack. You will also need to install them as in the order above.
When installation of the driver, the player need not be connected but after you have finish installation of the driver, it will prompt you to connect the player and then follow which, you can install the MediaSource application and the Nomad Pack.

  • Need new MP3 pla

Well my 30gb Zen Xtra MP3 player just became a paperweight today- It had been a year and a half since i bought it used so it li'ved a full life. Unfortunately it died with my 0gb of music, 2gb of videos, and other random things (as data). Sad loss- Should have backed up.
Anyway, I'm looking for a new MP3/4 player.. any suggestions? I want something that had a similar interface to my Xtra (with the playlists on the go, unsure if thats rare nowdays), also preferably much smaller. Under $200?Message Edited by gizmofo on 04-30-200707:20 PM
Im looking at the Zen vision:m which Newegg is listing for 75 after rebate.. good buy?Message Edited by gizmofo on 04-30-200707:29 PM

    Hi Gizmofo!
What are your requirements for a player? Essentially, how much space do you need? What features do you want? Do you want to be able to play video, or is it more important that the player is small?
The Zen Vision:M would definitely be a good choice. If you want something a big smaller, check out the Zen V Plus. The interface on both is similar, and both do playlists on the go.

  • Jogging MP3 Pla

Hey I own a Zen Xtra and I've been told it isn't advisable to excersise (running etc.) with it. I'm looking around to see if creative make a suitable GB or lower capacity mp3 player which I can use for this purpose. Can anybody recommend one?
Thankyou in advance for your input,Matt

I've used my N200 when jogging and the only problem I had was keeping the earphones in.
I've now got some Koss SparkPlug in-ear 'phones and that problem's solved.
If you can still get an N200 try and get one with the armstrap and protecti've case as they're useful for holding the player when jogging.

cos i want a decent flash mp3 players with an arm strap to wear when jogging, any other players i should look at and how does it rank against them in terms of size and sound

You're on the right track. Only flash memory based mp3 player can support the amount of shock that you will put it through while jogging. Hard-dri've mp3 players are way too fragile for that type of use.
The only player that I found out on the market that looked halfway as durable as the C00 is the Motorola DAP025 found exclusi'vely at Radio Shack. Which sucks because they get to jack the price up on you because it's only sold there.
    http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&product%5Fid=42%2D 8064
To me, all of them sound about the same. Really... Is this player one you want to listen to hi-fi music? It's for jogging, right? What I've found is that the difference comes when you place earphones onto them. The earphones can make a world of difference. I was surprised at how clear and loud the supplied earphones from the c00s were compared to my old Sonys.
There's the Rio Sport out there, but I've seen more than a few bad reviews about it relating to its durability on Amazon.com, pricegrabber and other customer review sites.
    http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=55-0-3
I've owned an RCA Lyra. Don't even bother looking at it.
Something VERY interesting has come from Lexar which is an MP3 player with no onboard memory at all. This dri've the price down CONSIDERABLY. If you already have SD cards like I did, then this is something you should check out. I can't say anything about whether it's durable or even works, because it's not even available yet, but the concept is very interesting. From the looks of it, it's not even a sport model, but it costs a little more than /3 of what I paid for my C00.
    http://www.jr.com/JRProductPage.process?Product=4022
So far, I've been very pleased with my C00 except for one issue. I have had a hell of a time getting it to work with my high-speed memory in the external bay. It took me about 2 weeks worth of emails to customer support for them to even recognize this as an issue. So if you do get a C00, be very careful about the type of card you get. Stick with the slow-speed cards for now.

    Hello
I have a ZEN micro mp3 player and a Laptop wich runs windows Vista with SP.
At the moment i am in Finland and the software disc is in Holland so that's why i can't install the normal way.
When i try to instal either firmware or other software/drivers it keeps saying my player is not connected.

    @lllaass
I see now that i have an ipod 2. I will have to point that out to the Apple guy.
itunes says I have 6.6GB (of 6.8) in audio. I have only aobout 300 songs and nothing else. I took 3+GBs off the audios when this all started and it Still says I have 6GB audio - did not even see the change.
And - even the ipod itself (setting, about, capacity) says I only have 5 MB free. (which was why I thought it might be the OS)
Other is a mere 0.22 GB.
And it still won't let me add anything even though I took off 3.3 GB (and was playing all those various audios just fine until this started on Sunday when I tried to add an album).
    I ran across this thread - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2574693?start=0&tstart=0
apparently it is an old problem (for some people on their iphones or ipads) and no one has an answer. Thus my stopping in at Apple today and I guess I'll need to go back. Online they don't want to talk to me without payment as the ipod is not under warrenty now. But this really seems to be doing something Apple is doing wrong and not fixing. It's turned my $250 ipod into a useless thing.
Sorry to rant - very frustrated....

  • Looking to buy a new mp3 pla

My last (and only) mp3 was a Zen Touch 20GB, which I loved dearly. But, alas, the HDD died. Couldn't fix, don't know why I didn't send off. But anyway. Is the menu system/player software basically the same as the Zen Touch (obviously refined)?
I liked the fact that my ZT had 24hr battery life and a nice way to scroll, so can someone perhaps suggest a player with similar advantages? I'm asking here as people will know which players tend to have problems and which are genuinely worth purchasing.
Do any Creative players support id3v2.4 tags, or just v2.3. And do any players support album artist tags? Or will I just have to navigate via album, as I did with the Zen Touch?
One last thing, I'm not fussed about pictures and video, just a solid mp3 player that does exactly that.Message Edited by Dragon on 2-2-200708:39 PM

well, if you liked navigating the touch i would def say go for the vision m: it uses a similar vertical scroller but is better refined, and has a fat battery life as well (always a plus). Although it has photos and videos that youre not interesed (but which you may well come to be soon..), the album art feature is def a bonus and failr sure they can hangle the new tag systems. as for other features im waiting for something that rellly gives the vision m a run for its money - especially its usb host funcionality (brilliant for travlers)
