Which MS Office version to install

I've read a number of posts about this but just get more confused. I know I will need to uninstall the test version of MS Office 2004. It also seems that I can't use MS Office 2004 Virtual PC(as if I would want to--I'm bi-platform and know which one I like). I have the Educational versions but don't know which one I should install-MS Office X or MS Office 2004. Please help!

Hello!
I'm unsure of your problem. Do you have a Windows version and a Mac version of Office? Or are you looking for guidance about which to purchase and install?
Office X is no longer sold for Mac. Only Office 2004 is available.
Windows versions of Office are typically one year ahead of the Mac versions but they are nearly identical in their basic and more advanced functions and features.
Office 2003 for Windows = Office 2004 for Mac
Office XP for Windows = Office X for Mac
Office 2000 for Windows = Office 2001 for Mac
If you have an Intel Mac then you can run both Mac and Windows pretty well. Decide which platform, Mac or Windows, you prefer and then go with the latest version of Office.
Hope this helps! bill

  • UPK 3.5.1 error on publishing: Unsupported office version is installed...

We have UPK version 3.5.1 and Microsoft Word 2010. we are getting in error while trying to publish: Unsupported office version is installed. Install one of the supported versions: Office XP, Office 2003 or Office 2007.
Is it any shortcut to be able to publish without upgradiing to 3.6.1? thanks

    Hi User 902368,
I did some digging on our database since the release of MS Office 2010 there is no other way around but to apply the patch.
I am just a newbie and my senior tech did advise me that running UPK without the patch can be troublesome.
You have to follow Marc's instructions.

  • Which Ms office version works with BPC 5.1 sp3

Hello, just as the subject says which office versions runs with BPC 5.1 sp3?
    Best Regards
    Jojo

There are some issues with BPC 5.1 and Office 2007.  Some that I've experienced (I believe we're also on SP3)....
You have to be careful when saving reports and input templates in BPC for Excel - make sure they are saved in the 2003 version, not 2007.
Also, if you have Excel 2007 and you maintain dimension members within the BPC Admin console, you have to save the changes, get out of the member sheet, then go back into the member sheet and process the dimension.  If you try to process right after saving, you get an error.  But if you back out of the member sheet between the save and process, then the process works just fine.
Search OSS for Search term Office 2007 and Application area EPM-BPC*to find additional information regarding BPC and Office 2007.

  • How to determine Which Acrobat DC version is installed? Pro or Std

I need to track which computers have which version for Licensing and update purposes. I use Dell K1000 for tracking and updating. With Acrobat XI, Pro and Standard had different uninstall registry keys so I was able to track them with a simple check for which registry key was on the computer. They would also show up separately in Dell Case stating Pro or Standard. However, With Acrobat DC the uninstall keys are the same and they both only show up as Acrobat DC in Dell K1000. How does Acrobat DC determine which version is installed and how can I duplicate it so I can count used license and install the correct updates?

Pre-Deployment Planning — Enterprise Administration Guide States "
    Installing Acrobat DC Standard¶
Acrobat DC products delivered via an ESD EXE download provide one installer that is used for both Acrobat Standard and Professional. The serial number you use determines which product is installed. What’s important to note is that when you extract the Acrobat ESD EXE (Acrobat_DC_Web_WWMUI.exe or Acrobat_2015_Web_WWMUI.exe), you’ll see AcroPro.msi in the output folder. This is the correct behavior. Simply remember to use AcroPro.msi in any command line scripts.
    Note
Existing scripts that use AcroStan.msi should be updated."
    Both Acrobat DC Pro and Standard have KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\2015\Installer ENU_GUID {AC76BA86-1033-FFFF-7760-0E0F06755100}
On the laptop with DC standard installed C:\ProgramData\regid.1986-12.com.adobe\regid.1986-12.com.adobe_V7{}AcrobatESR-12-Win-GM-e n_US.swidtag
On the laptop with DC Pro installed C:\ProgramData\regid.1986-12.com.adobe\ is empty
Your guide does not have any information regarding Acrobat DC. Please explain how to verify if Acrobat DC Pro or standard is installed. or explain how to get the ENU_GUID for standard to start with {AC76BA86-1033-FFFF-BA7E.

  • Which Adobe Reader version is installed in my computer?

I am thinking of getting the update for Adobe Reader version 10.  I know I have Adobe Reader 10.something!  I am satisfied with the Flash 11 and Reader products.
    * How do I find out which version of Adobe Reader (10.x.x) is on my computer??
I'd appreciate an answer if someone knows.
    Thanks!

Assuming that you are on Windows, open Adobe Reader | Help | About Adobe Reader X.  You will see your Reader version displayed at the bottom of that pop-up window.

I ordered Microsoft Office 2011 with my Macbook Air, but only the trial version came installed - and no product key for the full version was ever emailed to me or included in the shipment. Three calls each to Apple and Microsoft have not solved this and I am at wit's end. Each company blames it on the other - I don't care whose fault it is, I just want the product key so I can use Microsoft Office!  Please help.

You should have received a DVD in the box (with the MBA).

Call AppleCare (they need to send you a DVD, which has the Product Key printed on the sleeve).

  • How Robohelp noted which Word Version is installed?

    Hello!
I have installed on my PC Word 2007 and Word 2010. They both work fine.
After  I installed Word 2010, i can't create printed  documentation any more, because robohelp says that no compatible version is installed.
I know that I can first start Word 2007, so the configuration is rewritten and then it works again. But this process takes a long time. So i deactivated this process with the Registry-Key NoReReg=1.
I suspect that Robohelp Notes from the registry, the current version of Word. The question is, what registry-key is the right one. There are tons that have to do with Office.
Does anyone have an idea, which registry-key Robohelp queries?
    Sorry for my bad english!
    Greetings!
    WEC

I believe someone posted that very recently. A search in the fields for the RoboHelp categories should help.
If you do use Word 2010, bear in mind it is not tested or supported.

  • I am trying to use a website that requires that my computer have the lastest version of Java, which I have updated and installed, however Firefox does not recon

I am trying to use a website that requires that my computer have the latest version of Java, which I have updated and installed Java 7 Update 51 (64-bit), however Firefox does not recognize that I even have Java on my computer. My computer is 64-bit
When I run "Verify Java Version" it show nothing is installed... but it is, I know that for a fact because it shows in my "Control Panel/Programs/Programs and Features".
When I go back to the Java Download page, the following message is visible:
"We have detected you may be viewing this page in a 32-bit browser. If you use 32-bit and 64-bit browsers interchangeably, you will need to install both 32-bit and 64-bit Java in order to have the Java plug-in for both browsers."
    My question is this:
Is there a way to change my Firefox browser from 32-bit to 64-bit.... because it appears that this is way Java is not functioning properly?

Firefox needs 32-bit plugins, so you'll need to install 32-bit Java for Firefox.
No, you can't change Firefox from 32-bt to 64-bit. There is a Nightly 64-bit version (alpha) of Firefox, but it is used only to test for regressions until development is resumed.

  • I recently upgraded to iWork v9.0.3, but when I access each applications the versions are different (i.e. Pages V.4.1, Numbers V2.6, Keynote V5.1.1) with a install date of 3/18/09 -- which is not the current install date of 2 weeks ago. Why?

I recently upgraded to iWork v9.0.3, but when I access each applications the versions are different (i.e. Pages V.4.1, Numbers V2.6, Keynote V5.1.1) with a install date of 3/18/09 -- which is not the current install date of 2 weeks ago. Shouldn't Pages, Numbers, and Keynote show version 9.?? My MAC confirned installation of v9.0.3 and even accepted the software code. With this discrepancy, how can I determine if the latest was installed and operational? I even downloading v9.0.4, 9.0.5, and 9.1. When I tried installing these downloads it popped up note stating that a later version of Keynote was already installed.

You used the data.  Verizon can not see what it was sued for.  However your phone can see whats apps used the data.  go to settings-data usage- there will be a place that says data usage cycle.  line the dates up with your cycle.  then there will be a bar graph below that   extend bother white bars one all the way to the left and one all the way to the right.  after those are extended below that will be a list of apps,  there should be one that used over 2 gb and that will show you what app used that data in her purse

  • Office 2013 Startup Problem with NEW Win 8.1 Install and no prior Office Version

Although I have seen similar threads on the forum, they all seem to address a different scenario.
    My environment is as follows:
Intel MotherBoard with I07 max processor
    64GB RAM
512 GB SSD Boot drive on which Windows 8.1 was installed as first and only O/S.  It was validated
4TB HDD on which User directory and programs installed (those which permit drive selection in startup)
    4TB data drive.
Machine was built from scratch with Win 8.1 Pro plus Media Center
Office 2013 Pro Plus was installed and validated
Machine is running in an MS AD Domain whose PDC is running on Win Server 2008 R2
User is a member of Enterpise and Domain Admin group
    HERE'S THE PROBLEM,
Any Office 2013 Pro Plus application (Not Just Oulook) goes through the configuration step EACH time it is launched.

    Hi,
Try repairing Office in Control Panel -> Programs and Features, check the result.
    You can also try this:
Go to the install folder, such as C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\root\office15, find the .exe file for the application, let's take Word for example, WINWORD.EXE, right click on it, send the shortcut to Desktop, right click the
shortcut -> Properties -> Shortcut -> Advanced -> Check "Run as administrator" -> OK -> OK.
Start Word from the shortcut, you may need to go through the process again, reboot the computer, check if it will show up again when you start Word. If the problem doesn't exist any more, do the same to other Office applications.

  • Cannot embed pdfs in MS Word doc which are PDF Version 1.3 (Acrobat 4.x) [This is associated with Adobe Reader 9]. Getting 'program not installed' error.

Cannot embed pdfs in Word doc which are PDF Version 1.3 (Acrobat 4.x) [This is associated with Adobe Reader 9]. Getting 'program not installed' error.
Pdfs with other versions are okay:
Tested successfully with Adobe Pro 9 (Version 1.5 (Acrobat 6.x)), Reader X (Version 1.4 (Acrobat 5.x)) and XI (Version 1.6 (Acrobat 7.x))
Also cannot open embedded pdfs which have been embedded with this version (getting a similar error).
Importantly I have removed/disabled all security options in Adobe Reader, following numerous internet suggestions from Adobe and elsewhere. This does not fix the problem.
Currently the work around is to re-save the pdf with something other than Adobe Reader 9 (so the version updates), but we would prefer not to do this for all the old pdfs we have.
    Thank you,
    Louise.

Could you please email me the document on which you are seeing this issue at [email protected] ?
Please mention the forum thread link as well in the mail for the reference.

  • Which is the mac OS registry location and filename to determine the version of installed firefox?

I have a Mac mini with 10.8.4 installed. I installed firefox 21.0. I'm trying to locate the registry entry (plist) file which contains the version of firefox installed. This file needs to be used programatically.

For programmatical access to the Firefox version see [http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=653489 How to detect Firefox browser version?]
You can access it manually from about:config (but, I am pretty sure, not from the sysytem registry):

  • Which WiFi cards can be installed in the X121e (AMD E-350 Version)?

    Hi,
I'm running Linux and the available firmwares for the RealTek rtl8818ce in the X121e with AMD processor is hopeless, so I've though about replacing the card. Now apparently the BIOS has some sort of card-whitelist so the question is with which cards can I replace the RealTek?

To check the compatible wifi cards you would want to check the hardware maintainence manual of your machine.

The pther way which is not recommende is to flash the bios to a unofficial version which would allow any hardware installed in your laptop.

  • W2k8 is 32-bit,which oracle 10g version should be installed?

    Hi everyone,
I am a new DBA. Now I will install Oracle 10g on w2k8. I found w2k8 is 32-bit system, i am wandering which oracle 10g version I should install?
    Thanks!

    Go to http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/index.html
Note that Windows 2008 explicitly is listed against 11.1.0.7
Therefore, you can assume that 11.1.0.7 is the first that definitely supports W2008.
And you can assume that anything older than that line is definitely not supported.
And if it is not supported (as is the case for 10g), you can assume that you will run into some kind of problem either during installation or (worse) at some unknown time later.
You can probably find some workaround to make it appear to work. Which is fine ... it's your job. (At least until it stops working.)
