Which one should I get 13inch or 15inch MBP

Hello everyone, I am about to make the switch from pc to a mac and I need help on which mac is best for me. I never had mac before, this is my first time. I am going to college. I will be using in college and using the mac for web surfing, itunes and doing homework.
Do they both 13inch and 15inch get very hot?
I don't know why Im lover with 15 but I am familiar in the differences with the 13 and 15 inch but cannot decide on which is best for me..........Any help or feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

For doing that and being mobile a lot at school, I would go with the 13", or you may even consider a MacBook Air lighter weight.
They all heat up depending upon what you are doing, but just surfing (except watching video) and doing your homework (word processing), any of them should run quite cool.

Well, the 2nd Generation iPod has more functionalities and at the same price! I think you should get the 2nd Generation iPod, for this reasons:
1) Is brand new, had slight redesigns, same price and several new functionalities;
2) It would be difficult to see the previous iPod on sale in stores... Only using eBay or something!
3) Issues are normally related with software and not with hardware. So this means that both iPods will always have the bugs...

IPod Cover.. which one should I get?

I've had my 30GB Black Video iPod for almost a week now, and it barely has any scratches, but I still want to get a case/screen-protector so it won't get anymore. I heard that the iSkins are good (they look good too), and they just came out with new skins/cases for the iPod nano, but not yet for the new Video iPods.
Should I just wait for those to come out.. or is there anyother skins/screen-protectors/cases that you'd suggest?

I'm looking myself. I'm leaning toward a zcover - had a guy at Best Buy recommend one to me (I don't think they carry them). He had one for his 4th gen iPod - and he loved it.
...in the meantime, I've put a clear sheet of Static Cling over the front of mine - and that works very well - can't hardly tell there's anything there. Doesn't protect the back - but that's okay with me for now - I just want to make sure the screen doesn't get scratched. I run a decal company, so I've got the good stuff - not sure where one could find some retail - maybe a craft or sticker shop?

Which one should I get? Radeon HD 6770 or Geforce GTX 550 Ti ?

I've been told over the years that Nvidia has better support for Linux. But how are the (official) Linux drivers for both cards ? Right now I have a choice between Palit GTX 550 Ti and MSI HD 6770 for about the same amount of money.
While Palit offers 2 a year warranty, and MSI offers 3, I tend to go with the Radeon because I already have an onboard Geforce 7025 (for "just in case") and the official drivers are ok.
Any advice would be most welcome.

DSpider, this has been discussed a lot. Have you searched the forums? Nobody is going to be able to give you advice on exact specific models as they themselves would have had to compare them to know what works.
To get a general idea, search the forums and you will find multiple threads trying to figure out whether they should buy an ATI card or a NVidia.

T430 docking stations - which one should I get?

I am getting ready to start a new job that allows me to provide my own laptop. I want to setup a dock for my T430 with one monitor.
Does anyone have a favorite docking station - it appears that 3 or 4 work. they look the same to me....
I wonder if WIDI works well enough for a second extended monitor.

I want to get an Ipod touch, but i can't decide how much I need. I want to put on about 500 songs, 1 or 2 movies, and a lot of games and apps. I can afford the 8gb one now, or i could save up to buy a bigger one. Please provide some imput. I need help.

When you cannot upgrade the storage ability (like iPod) save up a few more $$ to do it right.

Need to replace my Optical Drive, which one should I get?

I have a Dual 2gig power G5 with 1.5gig ram. The Optical Drive is a Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-106D Revision A606. The drive is going bad and needs to be replaced. I use FCE to make my projects then use i-DVD. Once done with i-DVD I create a disc image and use disk utilities to burn using an Imation, or Sony disc media. The last couple of times I tried burning a disc I got errors. I beleive it is the drive. Can someone tell me what kind of replacement Optical Drive I should get.

I use the following Pioneer burners both internally as well as external via FW 400 enclosures and I know they work well for reading or writing to dual and single layer DVD-R using either Verbatim, Maxell, Tiayo Yuden, or RiData:
Pioneer DVR-115D, and Pioneer DVR-110U.
There are other models that work from Pioneer as well as Sony. (Pioneer Burners are normally a safe bet on most macs).
If you want something external / preconfigured then consider LaCie Burners.
All of the above recommendations work well with iDvd as well as Roxio Toast and FCS2 / DVDSP.

The New Ipad (Ipad3) Case which one should I get?

I'm purchasing and Ipad3 and I'm looking for a good sturdy case. I have a 5 year old that will be playing with it so I'm sure it will be dropped on occasion. I was thinking about an otterbox but I saw one for kids as well. I just don't know whats best
and if its worth paying the extra money for the otterbox. Any suggestions are welcomed!!

I'm always amazed to see parents handing a $600 device to someone who has little responsibility. I've seen too many parents yelling at their kids when an iPad falls on the cement getting out of a car. Even my iPad has protective skins to keep scratches away. Yes, the back of my iPad as a big dent from falling on an office chair leg.
I say yes get the Otterbox, unless you plan to be buying a new device every few weeks. The slippery aluminum back is not forgiving.

In addition to a cracked screen, a fall on the edge risks warping the aluminum back, making glass replacement complicated.

Boot Camp Assistant is in your Utilities folder. You will have to purchase Windows somewhere. Preferred would be 64-bit Windows 7.

Requiring Match to be switched on, even though we have paid, to get ad free Radio can be costly. Why?
Because if you want to listen to Radio with cellular data (not much data required) you are also agreeing to Match over cellular which can suck data like you won't believe.

There's not much of a jump from the T4i to the T5i; Canon releases updates to these Rebels so frequently they often lack substance. Looking at the specs I don't see anything that jumps out at me - I'd grab whichever one I could get cheaper.
The 7D is a substantial jump up. Much more sophisticated autofocus. Faster burst rate, shorter shutter lag, weather sealing, better build, better LCD, viewfinder coverage, etc. Keep in mind it's the same old sensor, but there's a lot more to a camera than a sensor. The 7D has been the go to camera of sports enthusiasts for years.
Edit: I didn't mean to sound like I was selling the Rebels short, I think they're a great camera for the price, depending on your needs. There are things that more novice photographers may prefer in a camera over the 7D, like built in flash, or the flip out screen, or in-camera HDR.

Multiple Apple ID's, which one should be main iCloud ID on iOS 5?

Hey! Seems like iCloud is a bit more complex to setup than I had thought it would be. Here's the situation. I have two Apple ID's. One is my @me.com account that I just migrated to iCloud. Second Apple ID is an @gmail.com account that I use for all of my iTunes purchases (also migrated to iCloud. I know you can have multiple Apple ID's setup in iOS (by means of "Mail, Contacts, Calenders"), but there is only room for one account under the "iCloud" tab/setting under iOS settings. Which one should be used here? My @me.com, or the one I use for iTunes purchases? ...or does it even matter? Just want to set everything up optimally from the start so I don't have to go back later and correct something.

The majority of the time using the 64 bit version is better, since you have more resources available (ram)
If you need to run some older third party plugins that were only ever offered as 32 bit plugins, then the 32 bit version is the choice.
Or if you happen to use a scanner with twain, then the 32 bit version.
