Which one should I use to compress video for iPod/iPhone?

Hi
I have a quicktime movie. Should I export from the quicktime player to iPod setting or should I go through compressor?
The last time I did it through both applications-- Quicktime was fast--Compressor took a while but the quality of them looked the same.
What do you guys think?
Thanks

I normally use the iPhone preset in Compressor.

That is up to you to decide. For some details about the different versions see https://developer.mozilla.org/devnews/index.php/2011/04/07/new-development-channels-and-repositories-for-rapid-releases/
If you have not used to testing software you should stick with the release version (Firefox 4.0.1).

  • Which client should be use 000 or 001 for Client Copy

    Hi,
Which client we can use 000 or 001 for fresh Client Copy.
Also what is the diff. b/w 000 and 001 client and its uses...
    Please suggest.

    Hi
Always use client 000, except for solution manager systems.
    Best regards
    550894 - CC-ADMIN: Setting up a new client
Always use client 000 as a template, and never client 001. (A known exception is the SAP Solution Manager.)
Do not copy any application data from client 000 because the consistency of data and the number ranges cannot be guaranteed.
Only client 000 is populated with upgrades, Legal Change Packages, Support Packages, language imports and so on with new Customizing so that it always contains the current sample Customizing. This is why it is also so important that the copy is only carried out after the system is updated. Client 001, on the other hand, is obsolete. It serves only as a sample client and may be deleted at any time.

  • Watch HULU on HDTV - iMac or MacBook Pro? Which one should I use?

I have this dilemma which computer would perform better on streaming video from the net. I wanna drop the cable company so I have been looking to buy a converter to HDMI with AUDIO included like this: http://www.brilliantstore.com/hdmicables_dekcell_cpa1454.html
    or like this:
    http://www.kanexlive.com/products/item.aspx?id=3495
but can't make up my mind if I should use the iMac or BMP and they have different video output (Mini-DVI/Mini Display Port). So I could use some feedback on which one you think would handle the project better (speed, resolution... etc.) or if it's make any difference at all, for specs please look below.
    Thank you!

The Imac and you don't need any converter.

  • Why do I have three versions of illustrator and which one should I use?

    Hello,
I have CC, CC 64 bit, and CC 2014 on my computer.  Is there a difference?  I originally downloaded both CC and CC 64 bit because I didn't know if it mattered or not which one I use.  Then the 2014 version was in creative cloud, and I figured it was an update, but now I have three versions.
    I use Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
    Thanks,
    Caleb

    Caleb,
CC2014 is a new version, which in some ways are closer to the CS versions because some features have been reintroduced.
If you are happy with CC2014 you may uninstall the others.

  • ESB vs BPEL : which one should we use

    Hello All-
We need some pointers regarding the strength and weaknesses of ESB and BPEL and in which scenarios we should be using either ESB or BPEL or both.
Currently, our EDI processing system is on BPEL 10.1.2.0.2 version and the details are given below:
    BPEL 10.1.2.0.2 and Oracle Integration B2B 10.1.2
BPEL is used for transformation and feeding the messages to B2B. It's also used for transaction tracking, error handling and notification. We have implemented both inbound as well as outbound EDI.
File, DB and AQ adapters are heavily used but we have seen severe performance issues under load
As part of upgrade to 10.1.3 version we are evaluating whether we can use combination of ESB (using the file adapter) and BPEL(for transformation, transaction tracking, error handling and notification) and whether it is recommended. Basically we are evaluating the option of migrating the processes to 10.1.3 version as -is or introduce ESB to reduce performance bottlenecks.
Please provide us pointers to recommneded best practices as well as any documents/case studies.
Please get back to me if you need any additional information.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Dibya

    Hi Dibya,
Oracle BPEL can be used for integration code but its not designed/optimised for it.. Oracle BPEL is a Business Process Execution Language and as such its optimised for managing and coding business processes, whereas an ESB is quite simply a highly efficient intergration product. Its principle objective is to join two different services together quickly, efficiently and bi-directional.
Specifically an ESB moves data via
Connects services via different adaptors (WebServices, FTP,File,JDBC etc) and protocols (HTTP,JMS)
Enriches and transform data using XSL & domain value mapping lookups
Routes messages based on data in the message payload and/or header
and finally and often overlooked feature is that an ESB
Virtualises services, quite simply adds a facade layer to your infrastructure...
Its also worth noting that doing integration work with Oracle ESB is not only quicker to "build" but its also quicker in its execution. I've been told by some collegues in the US that an integration process in ESB product is approx twice the speed of same process in Oracle BPEL..
    So to recap
    Use ESB when
You want a really low cost solution
Only need connectivity, simple transformations and routing
    Use BPEL+ESB when
You need to code complex business logic
    Integration with Workflow
Complex transforms potentially involving the database
Have Long running processes which may or may not be stateful.

  • Difference between PDS and PPM and which one should be used for SNP /ppds?

    Hi Gurus,
Just wanted to know what are the difference between PDS and PPM ?
    1. For what industrial products we use PDS and PPM in SNP and PPDS?
    2. which one can be refered to clients?
Please let me know it will be really great if anyone let me know the answers
    Thanks & Regards,
    Raj

    Hi Rajkumar,
I have given below the detailed comparative account of PDS Vs PPM. Please copy and put it in an excel sheet in different columns and then read which is easy to understand.
    PDS
    1. Production Data Structure (PDS) in APO 3.1 & Run Time Object (RTO) in 4.0 and above versions
    2. Master Data Object
    3. Useful for scenarios where the compoenent has got different validity periods
    4. Used as Master data Basis for Planning in SAP-APO
    5. Contains active Master data from iPPE (Integrated Product and Process Engineering) generated from a production version
    6. PPDS PDS & SNP PDS can be used as master data for planning
    7. Change Management, variant configuration & Phantom assemplies are supported in PDS
    8. Sub-contracting in SNP is fully integrated with R/3 is supported in PDS
    9. Direct transfer of SNP PDS from R/3 is possible
10.Rapid Planning Matrix can be generated
    11. Not possible to maintain PDS directly in APO and can be used only in combination with R/3
    12. The transfer of data changes is simpler
    13. Not possible to create alternate SNP-PDS in std system for different mode combinations
    14. PDS can be automatically generated from two sources ie R/3 and iPPE
    PPM:-
    1. Production Process Model
    2. Master Data Object
    3. Cannot be used for scenarios where the component has got different validity period
    4. Used as Master data Basis for Planning in SAP-APO
    5. Contains active Master data generated from the combination of routing (BoM & receipe) and production versions
    6. PPDS PPM & SNP PPM's can be used as master data for planning
    7. Not supported by PPM
    8. Not supported by PPM
    9. Not possible here. SNP PPMs will be generated via PPDS PPMs
    10. Not possible
    11. PPMs can be directly created in APO and can be modified without R/3 also.
    12. Little Complex when compared to PDS
    13. Alternate SNP-PPMs can be easily created
    14. PPM can be generated automatically generated only from R/3
PDS is used in industries wherein there are multiple components or assemblies having diffeent production versions whose validity periods are different.  PPM is being used typically in process industries, chemical industries.  PPM is very simple in its usage and very flexible in operations in terms of modifications at APO level and can be referred to client depending on the business requirement

  • Installation question, have two computers...which one should i use?? help!

i just bought a refurbished ipod video off apple.com...it has not arrived yet, but i am looking for an answer before i get too anxious and make a dumb mistake.
i just recieved a mac book for xmas, and i have a windows XP as well. The windows has ALL my music, but i dont use it anymore. I would like to know what the best way to install would be.
I am a bit worried, because apple sometimes doesnt let transfer between two computers, (because of music sharing), but i'd like to see how this will work on.
music is on windows, a different computer, but i want to use my mac with my ipod full time...right after i get my music off windows and onto it.
    thank you!

Firstly, please understand that an iPod formatted on a PC can be read by both computers i.e. PC+Mac, but it has disadvantage that it will be a bit slow vs Mac's formatted iPod when you do a sync.
If I were you, I will go for a Mac, and forget your PC. Follow the methods as mentioned by Jeff Bryan, you can easily move your songs from your PC to your Mac via your iPod

  • Compressing video for iPod using QuickTime 7 Pro ("expert")

    Hi all,
I purchased QuickTime 7 Pro thinking I would be able to compress 640x480 H.264 video for an iPod. I have a specific application that requires precise control over the compression -- that is, the no-option "Movie to iPod" export setting ain't gonna cut it.
I have tried many, many different setting combinations using "Movie to MPEG-4" and "Movie to QuickTime Movie" under "File" --> "Export" in QuickTime, and I have been careful to limit sizes and bitrates per iPod tech specs as published on the Apple Web site. However, while all of the H.264 files I have output will open in iTunes, none of them will sync to my iPod. Videos I output using standard MPEG-4 compression will sync to my iPod (and look awful), but videos using H.264 will not.
Does anyone know what settings I can use to export 640x480 H.264 video to my iPod, and how I can have more control over the process than just "Movie to iPod?"
    Thanks!
    -- Joey
What I got (the technical details):
WinXP Pro with all the latest updates on Intel
    5G 60GB iPod w/ firmware ver 1.2
    QuickTime 7.1.3 Pro
    iTunes 7.0.1.8
multiple Wintel machines   Windows XP Pro

    Welcome to the discussions, Joeysirmons.
The developer that created VisualHub (Only for the Mac) has discovered how to create iPod compatible 640x480 video where the user has full control over the compression. The changes he made were to some public libraries so these methods should be finding their way to the ffmpeg based tools for Windows soon.

  • H.246 (MPEG-4) versus .AVI? Which one should I use? What should I use for audio?

Hey guys, I'm fairly new to AAE. Actually, I've had the trial for only 8 days now. I just got a capture card so I could record BF3 gameplay on the Xbox 360. I've spent sometime doing missions and whatnot, recording gameplay, so I could bring it into AAE and edit it. Now I just heard that AAE is more compatible with MPEG-4 files than with .AVI files. I'm not sure about this, but I do know that when I RAM preview with .AVI files or MP3 files, the audio is always cutting in and out.
My question is, should I record and edit my gameplay with H.246 (MPEG-4) or should I be using .AVI files instead? What's important to me is the quality of the video, and how well it works with AAE (I don't want it to flicker in/out)
But also, what's the best audio file format? As in, best quality and compatibility, also I don't want audio being cut in/out when I preview it.
    Thanks!

Use AVIs. H.264 is a compressed delivery format and not necessarily meant for editing. Same for you MP3 - AE is simply rubbish at dealing with them. Use WAV instead. Do a little reading here on this forum. These topics have been covered many times.

  • CC installed 3 versions of Photoshop. Which one should I use? How do I get bridge to point to this version?

I use Photoshop CC (64). I have all my action scripts and hot keys set up there and everything works fine. Until I try to use bridge to run a batch in Photoshop.
When I try to run a batch operation from bridge in Photoshop using an action I made in version Photoshop CC (64). Nothing happens. Photoshop doesn't open the batch screen and bridge acts like I never tried to run the batch (keep in mind, this happens while I have bridge and Photoshop CC (64) open.
If I shut down Photoshop and then try to run the Batch operation. Bridge opens a version of Photoshop I don't use, therefore it doesn't have any of my actions scripts that I want to use. (I'm guessing it is opening CC 2014. Is this better than CC (64)? Should I just go ahead and use it instead?
Keep in mind I'm using Bridge labeled Bridge CC (64bit) so in my mind it really should be looking at Photoshop CC (64).
I tried using bridge preferences to pick CC (64) for the file type but this didn't work/help.
I don't mind using CC 2014 but I think Bridge should have an option to pick which version of Photoshop to run the batch in. This saves me time having to save out my actions and load them up in another version of Photoshop.
Anyway. Please let me know which version is the latest/best. I have Photoshop CC, Photoshop CC (64) and Photoshop CC 2014. It would be nice to be able to remove the ones I don't really need.

There are three Cloud versions of Photoshop: CS6 13.1.2,  CC 14.2.1.570 and CC 2014 15.2.1. There are two two version of Adobe Bridge:  CS6 5.0.2.4 and CC 6.1.0.116.  Bridge CS6 works with Photoshop CS6,  Bridge CC works with Photoshop CC 2014.  There is no Bridge for Photoshop  CC except Bridge CC with out the Bridge CC updates. The Photoshop Version are not fully compatible with prior versions of Photoshop. Subscription CS6  removed some Plug-ins support that in perpetual CS6 so some Plugin that work in perpetual CS6 don't work in Cloud CS6, Photoshop CC is quite compatible with Subscription CS6,  CC 2014 had Flash Panel support removed so old extensions like mini bridge don't work in CC 2014.  There are bugs in CC that are not in CS6 and there are bugs in CC 2014 that are not in CC.

  • Why does download of PhotoShop require an "Application" and which one should I use?

In attempting to download a Trial verson of PhotoShop, apparently it requires an Application.  I have no idea why or what would be an appropriate application.  No clue is provided on the screen.  Does this mean I have to pay for something for a Free Trial?

What you are talking about is called "The Creative Cloud" application. It is the "control" program that Adobe uses to manage your Adobe applications.
Don't worry - the creative cloud application is free and it will allow you to download Trial versions of the different Adobe packages.

  • Should I use a screen protector for an iPhone 6 Plus?

I just bought an iPhone 6 Plus and can't decide if I want/need a screen protector on it. I take great care of my phones and do not set it carelessly down on any surface.

    Yes.
We were going without for the first time, and after only 2 weekes,  my wife just showed me a hairline scratch on hers.  She says it could not possibly have happened, but it did.
I just ordered screen protectors for both of ours.

  • Multiple Apple ID's, which one should be main iCloud ID on iOS 5?

Hey!  Seems like iCloud is a bit more complex to setup than I had thought it would be.  Here's the situation.  I have two Apple ID's.  One is my @me.com account that I just migrated to iCloud.  Second Apple ID is an @gmail.com account that I use for all of my iTunes purchases (also migrated to iCloud.  I know you can have multiple Apple ID's setup in iOS (by means of "Mail, Contacts, Calenders"), but there is only room for one account under the "iCloud" tab/setting under iOS settings.  Which one should be used here?  My @me.com, or the one I use for iTunes purchases? ...or does it even matter?  Just want to set everything up optimally from the start so I don't have to go back later and correct something.
    Thanks all for your assistance!

  • Two graphics card on macbook pro which one do I use?

I have two graphics cards on my macbook pro. ADM random 6490m (256mb vram) and Intel HD graphics 3000 (512mb vram). My question is which one should I use? I don't do any hardcore gaming or photoshop. I guess that I am just looking for the best display and least buffering if that even has anything to do with the graphics card. I just want to get the most out of my macbook. I appreciate any advice. Thank you.

Your MBP more or less chooses which graphics card to use automatically.  In System Preferences>Energy Saver, check Automatic graphics switching.  When it's checked on, it will use the higher power and higher quality dedicated AMD 6490 when you're plugged into the wall, and uses the Intel 3000HD when on battery.
I have downloaded gfxCardStatus to give me more control over which graphics card to use.  There are times I might want the AMD while on battery, even though it runs hotter and uses more battery life.
Either card will do well with HD movies, though I notice a lot more artifacts with the Intel 3000 when the movie has a lot of action or explosions or sounds.  If you want to do hardcore gaming, you need the AMD of course.  Photoshop is more dependent on the central processor rather than the graphics card, so I'm not sure you'd have much issue using either one.
