You can't really demand people to be more helpful! If anyone knows of any, I'm sure they'll reply and let you know, but a lot of posters on this board are people that li've in the US, so they probably wouldn't look up stores that ship internationally very much.

You can only purchase a factory unlocked iPhone directly from Apple.

While i am using firefox, 3 new firefox windows automatically pop-up and they one of them always opens to a online shopping site. Please do tell me what to do..

Up to date denied - Online apple store not an "authorised reseller"

My retina macbook which just arrived a few days ago, after ordering it through the apple store online, is apparently not eligible for upgrade. Anyone else have this problem?

The contact email has "au" in it, yet I orderd the computer in Taiwan, so perhaps they are getting the country mixed up?

Sparklebox is an educational resource site in the UK. I receive emails from them regularly.
Suddenly a couple of weeks ago they started arriving stating that they are from Hugs and Cookies XOXO which a recipe site in the USA which I subscribe to.
Can it please be changed back to reveal that they are from Sparklebox and not Hugs and Cookies XOXO?

Sorry if you think the complaints about not being able to see your question are dumb. But it makes it very difficult and after complaining for over a year my frustration is very high.
As for deleting the entry in your address book for Hugs and Cookies, it is nothing of the sort. Thunderbird uses your address book display name preferences to populate the from list.
Of the last 100 people that came here complaining that mail from one person was actually from another. Their address book entry for that person was the issue in probably 99 of them.

Apple Macbook warranty valid for online shopping ?

I would like to buy Macbook Air from online shopping sites like flipkart.com or snapdeal.com . But i'm not clear regarding warranty.
As snapdeal and flipkart.com displaying 1year warranty in their websites, but these websites are not authorised apple sellers. In future, if i face any hardware problems or yellow tint on screen, will apple service center accept my warranty ?

Complain about authorised reseller

How do I complain to Apple about the service from and Apple Authorised reseller. My issue is I ordered a MacBook Pro 15 Inch with and SD 256GB drive instead of the 500GB 5400 Drive that came with the computer. I have recently discovered with the help of my local apple store that it was supplied new with a Crucial SSD and not and Apple supplied drive. Additionally it came with and extra 8gb of Ram which I also understood to be Apple original. But I am not aware that Apple use Kingston Memory.
The issues I have are that clearly if the items are supplied by Apple they would have cost more than if they were supplied by the third parties mentioned. I have taken this up with the Authorised Reseller and all they can say is they dont have to tell me what they supply and although they have offered to take the computer back and cancel out the final year of the lease I would not have taken out the lease in the first place had I known they we using non standard apple components. When I compared prices to other suppliers it was not a true comparision.
I hope that Apple do not condone their Autherised Resellers effectively supplying counterfeit components in place of Apple Parts?

I think that you are right that they are the legal owners of the equipment. I always buy on lease with an agreement to purchase at the end of the lease. The problem I've had with buying Apple for over 15 years now is that most lease companies charge fair market value for the equipment at the end of the lease. But do not reduce the payments in the lease to take a greater fair market value at the end of lease into account. Hence the reason I used this company.
This particular company has an offer to upgrade and keep similar lease costs 2 years into a 3 year lease and to take ownership of the equipment at two years. Taking this into account although they were much more expensive that other lease companies swung me into going with them. Unfortunately at the 2 year point yes they offered the new equipment, keep the existing MacBook but the they built the cost of the final year into the new equipment leased. This is what made me look into the computer I had leased in more depth finding the subsituted components.
I don't mind companies supplying non standard equipment as long as A. I order it or B. I know about it and can make an informed decision whether to go into a lease agreement with them. If I send the computer back now it has still cost much more that the computer would have cost new. I hate to waste money but not knowing all the facts.

A) We are not Apple employees. We are other iPhone users like you, trying to assist others with hardware problems.
B) Your Apple warranty is valid only in the country* in which the phone was originally purchased. If you didn't buy from Apple or an authorized agent, then the warranty is valid only in the country in which that seller bought the phone. Apple will not accept international shipments, so the phone must be delivered to Apple from within that country.

Creating an online shooping site

I've been using Dreamweaver for a few years now to develop
html/css sites, and have just been asked to create an online
shopping site for a small company. I note that many magazines
recommend Actinic as a complete solution, but I would be interested
to know if there is an easy way to develop the site and its various
elements in Dreamweaver?
My understanding is that Actinic (and, I presume, other
shopping site development apps) handles the creation and deployment
of much of the server-side technology, and as I want to get this
right first time, I would be interested to hear the group's

Depends also on what you mean by “small company”.
I have developed several small company sites just using
Paypal
No matter what application you use, even your own, you will
need a credit card processing company to handle your transactions
and you DO NOT want to tackle that alone.
If the company has fewer than say 50 products, Paypal works
great. I takes some maintenance on someone’s part for price
changes etc. but is robust enough for most things and is free to
use (except for pretty small transaction fees)
If you have many more products than that, or a lot of options
(sizes, colors, etc.) you’ll need a commercial product.
I’ve never used Actinic so I can’t vouch for it
specifically. I’ve developed a site with over 19,000 parts in
several categories using Comersus and I’m in the process of
doing one with NetPoint. Yes, they pretty much have all of the
active parts worked out and you are lots of money ahead to buy a
good product rather than try and do it yourself.
The benefits to most products like these is the ability to
drive them with databases. When an inventory item is changed in the
company database, Comersus and Netpoint will modify the web page in
real time. So if there are 5 items in stock and somebody buys one,
the next shopper sees 4 items in stock. Or if you change a price or
description, the web page changes immediately. With thousands of
items this is a mandatory feature.

You might be able to buy the gift cards from Best Buy. They sell iTunes cards and will accept international credit cards. See:

after installing the laterst firefox version 4, i was trying to find where to show the status bar usually at the bottom of the browser. can't seem to find in on any of menu settings.
this is the spot where users can see the padlock(security) symbol to know the site is secure, esp when online shopping or doing online banking

Flash is not, and probably never will be, supported on the iPad : http://www.apple.com/hotnews/thoughts-on-flash/ . Plus it would be up to Adobe to make a version of their flash player that works on iOS devices, something which they have never managed to do and which they have now given up on trying to do.
Browser apps such as Skyfire, iSwifter and Puffin 'work' on some sites, but judging by their reviews not all sites. Also some websites, especially news sites, have their own apps in the App Store, so your could try checking there for your sites (and there is the built-in YouTube app).

You're saying that when you click on the iCloud preference pane button it sends you to the defunct MMe
rather than giving you this?
Is your profile up to date, i.e. are your running 10.7.5? Make sure you click on the iCloud button and not the MMe button.
