I want to be a PeopleSoft programmer, I understand SQR(I used to use it in Hyperion system), and I want to install a peoplesoft software in my laptop, what is the basic software I should install first? Since there are too many peoplesoft packages, I'm not sure which one is the most important and basic staff I should learn first? Is it PeopleSoft Enterprise Perfromance Management? Please advise, thanks!

You should install the database platform and then install the PeopleTools system database. Then install the PeopleTools local client to get access to App Designer.
As a starting point you should just learn the toolset and not worry about the specific applications. All of the modules are built using the toolset. You will need to setup a PIA environment before learning App Engine again this can occur without any specific modules.
Once you know the toolset it depends on the modules you want to learn. Project Costing is a core module that is a good one to know as it is used by most applications.

Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps.

Downloading images used to go automatically to the last folder used to save images, even when reopening Firefox. In just the past few days, possibly coinciding wih the most recent updates, the folder defaults to the 'Downloads' folder. This is most annoying. What happened? Internet Explorer 8.0 did the same thing. This was one of the reasons why I started using Firefox to download all images. I went into Tools>Options and it only lets me set another folder. I dont want to set a specific folder I want it to always go to the last folder used. So what gives?

Thanks jscher 2000. I guess I didn't make it clear. "It restarts with all the addons activated, and resumes with the tabs that were open before closing it." IE, it's running fine now with all the extensions activated. Everything is OK now.
So something in the Firefox code was causing the bad behavior. It's not essential that I find out what the problem was - I'm just curious. And if anybody else has this same problem, it might be nice to have it corrected at the source.

I'm relatively new to Mac and want to try and get the most out of the new MacBook Air.
My wife and I have been sharing the same Apple ID. We both have iPhones - she has a 5 and I've got a 4S.
We only have one copy of iTunes and we have been sharing the account. (She doesn't really use the computer for anything beyond writing the odd weekend assignment.)
Would I be better off setting her up with her own and making her as a separate user on the computer? Would this require much work?
In recent times with updates, we have a few problems with the duplication of texts and that sort of thing. Both of our texts are stored on the computer and that sort of thing. Also, sometimes texts I send her are sent through to me from her, if that makes any sense.
Anyway, I don't really want to overly complicate matters when it comes to accounts etc, but I wanted to know if a fresh Apple ID would be the best thing or even a new user?
Any tips etc would be greatly appreciated

Your question is almost too much a personal one, begging the question "do we (husband and wife) feel comfy sharing one account on the Mac"   maybe thats why nobody answered you.
It doesnt complicate anything, but it adds steps for switching accounts on the Mac/ purchases etc. of course
since your question is mostly personal, ..I wont answer THAT part of it, but creating a new account is easy.....messing with switching back and forth is also a personal preference 'issue' as well.   I prefer to keep things simple, but...........you and yours, I dont know.......

The only signed firmware available for your phone is iOS 5.1.1. If you update or restore, that's what will be installed on your phone. You can't pick & chose. If you don't want iOS 5.1.1, don't update. If you're already running iOS 5.1.1, it is what it is.

Which combo pack of HP 02 ink actually has the most ink in the cartridges?

I used to buy the combo of ink that had 150 sheets of photo paper in it until a clerk told me that there was actually less ink in those cartridges even though they are the same apparent size. Now I buy the combo pack of HP 02 ink that is ink only for about $10 more in price. Was the clerk accurate? The photo value pack PN# Q7964AN #140 says that it is ink and paper for 150 photos. The Black and Color Combo Pack PN #CH611FN#140 never says how many photos it will print. Would you either tell me how many grams in each of the different cartridges or compare apples to apples photo printing pages? THANK YOU

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Before you start, I'd export the data from the notebook to your desktop as a back up.
Turn syncing off, if it isn't already, on the notebook (system preferences > iCloud), delete the data from the first device, turn on syncing on the notebook and merge.

What fonts are the most readable at the smallest sizes?

My screen's resolution sucks, so there's no amount of tweaking that will fix that. But if I set most fonts to less than 8, they are horrible. Some are tolerable at 7, like DejaVu Sans and Droid Sans.

Steve Matteson is probably the most successful creator of screen fonts: Liberation fonts, Droid fonts, Open Sans, Segoe (the latter may not be as useful as it's specifically optimised for Windows).
PT Sans and Serif are also very solid if you want something a little quirkier, Ubuntu is also very well done if you like spurless Sans Serifs.
Beyond that... trial and error. Most other freely available fonts aren't optimised for the screen to the same degree, but some will render well on a given system more or less by chance.

When I'm 'exporting' a quicktime that I need to post for download, I try to get the size of the file down as much as I can while preserving the video quality.

H.264/AAC generally provides the best quality for a given file size but does require a QT 7 (or eqivalent) media player. Sorenson 3/AAC would maximize compatibility with older, less powerful platforms but requires larger files for a given level of quality. The MPEG4/AAC combination is somewhere in the middle offering rigid standards with easy to use preset management. Would recommend DivX/XviD only if you are trying to attract Windows users and don't care about the possibly of alienating mainstream Mac users.

Partitioning the database from the most recent to the last partitioned

We have a huge database which is partitioned based on datetime column and for each month. The last partition that we have on it was for 12/1/2013. And since then we have accumulated data with millions of rows already till 3/1/2015.
We want to continue to add partitions for the next two years to it now.
Since splitting the last partition from 12/1/2013 to 1/1/2014 is pretty painful and then to split 1/1/2014 to 2/1/2014, We were thinking if there is a way to split from the back. Like add a partition for 2/1/2015 so that data for Feb only
goes there and the 1/1/2015 and then making our way back to 1/1/2014.
So far I have a script for going from 12/1/2013 to 1/1/2014 and the 1/1/2014 to 2/1/2014. Something like this
