  • Which file type should I use and how I use it?

    Hello!
I need to create a file with some data that has been inserted manually.
In this file, for example, there are:
    ProjectName1: string1, string7… string10, date1
    ProjectName2: string11, string15… string20, date2
    ProjectNamek: string 100, string 116 … string 140, date1
I know only one thing: one of the strings.
What I need to find in the file:
I need to find the string at one of these rows and get its ProjectName and date.
For example: if I have string15,
I should find string15 in the file, and get its ProjectName and date:
    ProjectName2, date2
Which file type should I use and how I use it? What is the best solution?
    Thanks!

    (ie:
    1. ProjectName always starts the line and ends with a ':'.
    2. The rest of the strings on the line are separated by ", " and will never contain ", "
you might also want to have a look at String.split().

  • Which partition type - formatting startup drive

I just got a new white 2.16 intel imac. Before I put any data on it, I want to partition it to put a superduper sandbox on it.
I've been reading about how to do it and the only thing I'm not sure about is which partition type to choose. So far I have read that on an intel, it needs to be GUID. I went into disk utility and clicked on info for Macintosh HD - and it says the partition type is Apple_HFS. This is not making sense to me.

Not quite correct. GUID partition map is required to install Mac OS on an ICBM (Intel-chip-based Mac); however, you can clone a good ICBM system onto a HD/volume that's formated with the Apple partition map and it'll boot the ICBM.
    *For the OP*
I strongly recommend getting an external, bootable FireWire/USB 2 HD, use something like Carbon Copy Cloner, SuperDuper!, Disk Utility, etc. to make a bootable backup/clone onto it, boot from it, ensure it looks and acts like the original, and then partition the internal HD. Reverse the process and you'll have what you started with and also the means to routinely backup your stuff.

  • For the Attribute Movement type(BWA) we use Value " 201" and not "101" why?

    Hello Experts,
We are in SRM 7.0 classic scenario,
For the Attribute Movement type(BWA) we use Value " 201" and not "101" and provide the Source syst(backend R/3)
Can you all plz help me understand what is the difference if use value "101" for the  Attribute Movement type(BWA)
Also, can you all plz help me understand if we shd use value "101" or "201" for the  Attribute Movement type(BWA) and under what scenario.
Any pointers will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks & Regards,
    RKS

    Hi,
Movment type " 201 maintained for the Classic scenario only.
It is necessary to maintain the attribute if the default material group for a given user (or) sit is set to a backend logical system. The EBP system knows that if the user is set for backend procurement ,that there might be a possibility for a reservation to be generated therefore it checks to see that a value for this attribute is  maintained. The BWA value should be defined  for the  as 201 preceeded by the logical system and a backslash.
101 should not be used. This isfor the Good receipt.
In the extended classic scenario when you do the confirmations in SRM the movement type 101 will be created in the
    backend system (R/3 or ECC6.0)

  • What "Partitions" type should I use when I create an image in Disk Utility?

I have a Sony HDR-SR1 camcorder and have been creating images in Disk Utility to dump copies of my camcorders hard drive to. That way I can mount the disk image and import into iMovie just as if the camera was plugged in. These are the options I've been using:
    Volume Size: varies
Volume Format: Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
    Encryption: none
Partitions: Single partition - Apple Partition Map (the default I believe)
    Image Format: read/write disk image
The option I'm not sure of and can't find much information on is Partitions. Up until now all the ones I've created use what I listed above. What is the difference between all the options (hard disk, cd/dvd, no partition, single partition - *multiple options*) and what should I be using to ensure long term compatibility with these disk images. Thanks.

You don't need the journaling feature. Everything else appears proper. As for the various formats, check DU's help files.

  • For Inventory Adjustment : Which Idoc type to be used and why?

    Hi Gurus,
For Goods Movement in one of the MM-Purch Implementation I used the Idoc type : MBGMCR03
at that time inventaory was not playing a big role.
But for now for doing inventory adjustment (Inventory has importance now) which Idoc type to be followed:
Can I use same Idoc type : MBGMCR03
Or Shd I go for Idoc type  : WMMBID02
In some threads I read if MM you shd. go for MBGMCR03 and for IM : WMMBID02.
But why I dont know the answer...
Please give me your views on this.
    Thanks
    Amresh

MBGMCR03  is basically the BDBG idoc type and uses BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE to post the goods movement... You can check the documentation for the FM /BAPI  to determine what kind of goods movement is possible. You can look at T158G table to find the t-codes supported. If you can post your inventory adjustment using the BAPI, you can use MBGMCR03, as long as middle ware can support that format...
As far as the WMMBID02, It uses the IDOC FM (which in turn also uses the MB_CREATE_GOODS_MOVEMENT)..

  • Which BUs Object should I use for archiving and linking to SalesDocuments

    Hi,
I want to archive documents and link them to SalesDocuments, but I don't know which BUsiness Object I should use. Special Ones like BUS2030, BUS2031,... or the general Type VBAK. If I use VBAK I have the problem, that when I archive manually all with VBAK linked documenttypes are proposed, so that I can't control, which documents are allowed to be linked with for instance CustomerQuotation or SalesOrder.

    Hello Marc,
For Sales Order user object type as BUS2032
    Customer Quotation- BUS2031
    Customer Inquiry - BUS2030
    BUS2033          Customer complaint order
    BUS2034          Customer Contract
    BUS2035          Customer scheduling agreement
    BUS2051          Customer outline agreement
    BUS2094          Credit memo request
Hope this will answer your question.

  • Which Data-Types can be used as Widget Parameters?

    Hi,
I have been playing about with widgets (specifically widget parameters) for a while now.
I've got to wondering, exactly which data-types can Captivate turn into widget parameters?
So far I know that you can use:
    Numbers,
    Strings,
    Arrays,
    Objects
    and Booleans,
    as parameters.
    Which ones am I missing?
I know some don't work, because I tried storing a MovieClip as a parameter and that didn't work.

    Hi Eccles,
You can set all basic data types supported in flash viz.,
    1)Numbers
    2)Strings
    3)Arrays
    4)Objects
Since in Action script , an Object can be anything (array , array of objects , array of objects which by themselves are array of objects and so on ) , you can virtualy send anything as widget params
But there are two caveats to this
    1)Object References
-Object References do not have any meaning once the swf is closed. But the widget params have to be stored across sessions. So If you send a reference as part of widget params it is not going to work.
This is why sending a Movie Clip (which is actually a reference to an Object ) does not work
If you want to send such things you will have to 'serialize' the object.
2)Size of the Object that you send
The size of the object that you send can have an impact on performance. And since any object that you send has to be converted into XML , objects like bitmaps can turn out to be huge and difficult to handle.
This brings us down to this - you can send any object across as widget param as long as it is small and serialized.

  • N82 Query: Which internet connection option to use...

I have a data bolt on with O2 for 120 mb of monthly internet use. Which of these shall I use to access the web: 02 MMS, O2 MOBILE WEB, 02 WAP GPRS or O2 WAP GPRS STREAM.
    Thanks for any help

Best would be to use the setting with no proxies or ports. Those work the best for internet.
Normally labeled "WEB" or "Internet" as the connection name.
Otherwise simply get your networks APN, create a new connection and simply put in the Acess Point Name you aquired and it should work perfectly.

  • Which partition scheme should i use?

Hello guys (and maybe ladies), i am new to Linux and i have decided to set sail on an epic quest: Setting up a Linux desktop with Arch.
I have installed Arch few times on the main victim machine and on another laptop too, so i'm pretty much confident with most of the commands i run (through the forum captcha got me puzzled for a while, lol).
So, into the topic, i would like to gather suggestions on what partition scheme should i use, i have an 120GB Intel X25-M SSD i intend to install Arch on, RAM amount is 6 gigs.
From the wiki and forum reading i done so far, i came up with the following SSD torture plan:
    /dev/sdb1 -- root -- 25GB
    /dev/sdb2 -- /var -- 15GB
    /dev/sdb3 -- /home -- rest of the space, somewhere around 80GB
    All are btrfs.
I intend to install swap later on a rotating storage, or not.
    Arch wiki @ Btrfs :
"Do not use this filesystem yet unless you know what you are doing and are prepared for potential data loss."
I may not know what i'm doing, but as long as using a misconfigured system wont render my SSD a piece of salvageable material, i'm ready to test experimental/unstable/new features (except systemd) for the pursuit of performance, the precious bits of data are backed up and i'm ready to hold the wrench
Sorry for the long reading, any suggestions on the partition scheme? should i not use btrfs after all?
Bizzare, awkward or just special suggestions will be appreciated too, thanks in advance.
    And here's a third smile

I want to add my (different) setup here, too, to help you decide. My setup is:
    / 15G
    /boot 100M
    /var 10G
    /home rest(91G)
I also have two systems with seperate /usr, as I like it that way now, but that's a little advanced (though not hard, so if you want to learn, try it). Also, if you want to encrypt your system, make boot seperate as suggested by silentsnake.
But my most important suggestion if you like to experiment: use LVM. Allocate only limited space to your partitions. I suggest: 10G each, except 100M boot, if you keep /usr seperate, use 3G for root. LVM is really cool and very easy and highly flexible. And it gives you the possibility to add, remove and shift sizes around as you please - I love it! Just leave the free space you have hanging in the volume group and add it where it is needed. If you are feeling lucky or highly flexible, make /boot an LVM partition, but I don't recommend it: I do not see any benefit, only some possible issues.
As for swap: 6G is enough RAM - if you need swap later (e.g. hibernation) use a swap file (I don't, but I hear it's possible).
On your file systems: If you are into experimenting, you can choose whatever you like, but I doubt you will be unhappy in any way if you just choose ext3 (though Reiser seems like a nice idea for var).

  • Options for using iPhone 3G and Hotmail Outlook Connector to sync contacts?

I reviewed some posts on this topic and searched other forums, but still have yet to see a real solution to this problem.
I am using Win XP and Outlook 2003 with the Hotmail Outlook Connector to manage my Hotmail account. My default calendar and contacts DB in Outlook is located in the same mailstore as the Hotmail data. This is not POP or IMAP as unfortunately Hotmail requires it's own protocol (Outlook Connector) to manage the email account.
Also Hotmail will NOT allow any creation of a .pst or data file to store data that may be synced with a 3rd party device.
Can someone please assist me with finding a solution so that I can continue to use my Hotmail account, with Outlook 2003 and simply synch my default calenday and contacts data with my iPhone.
Note: I had a client with a similar issue using an HTTP/RPC Exchange mailbox and also an IMAP GMail connection in the same Outlook client. We simply made the Exchange account default and stored all contacts/calendar data there. The iphone synchs this data perfectly and the client and iPhone utilize both mailboxes perfectly.
Outlook Express is not an options for me. Thanks for helping.

  • Which file type should I use?

    Hi all,
I am finally building my book. Using Elements 10 as my primary. My workflow starts with creating a new file (file/new/blank)
I just finished the first page and to be safe I saved it as a PDF, PNG and JPEG. When all the pages are done I am going to print it locally. I think JPEG will be useful and this first page is only 8MB. I just have to decide what my other file type should be, which will the file I print. Both the PNG and PDF files were 60MB each. Should I contine to save as both? I will most likely come back and re-edit as well. Thanks.

    You actually have two questions:
In order to re-edit at a later date, save it as either a PSD (Elements native file format) or TIFF.  These file formats preserve your layers and masks, so re-editing is a snap.
When it's time to print, talk to the printshop you're going to use and ask them what file format they prefer.  Most places can handle PDFs.

  • Which compression type should I use?

    Hello~
I'm saving Keynote presentations to QuickTime for viewing on the web. Under the Compression Type menu there are 14 different choices to choose from, Animation to PNG. Apple is big to push the H.264 codec, but I'm getting mixed results with it as it washes out and fades all of my slides. For the life of me I can't find the reference material that explains when its best to use a specific codec; does anyone know where I can find this info? I've googled, searched apple.com and can't find a direct answer to this rather direct question. Even generalized guidelines would work for me at this point....
    Anyone?
    Thanks in advance,
