I'm a beginner and would like to know which Photoshop to use (so many options). The only edits I care about being able to do are: whitening teeth, smoothing complexions/taking away blemishes.  Does any photoshop have these options? I haven't been able to find the teeth whitening one anywhere. Also, I don't want it to lessen the high quality if my photos.  Thank you so much!!

    Hi Erika,
I came to Lightroom quite recently (in the last month!)  from Photoshop Elements 11. I like the organization features in LR better, but for adjustments such as the ones that you mentioned I would leave LR and go back to Photoshop Elements 11, primarily because that is what I know. I don't use the subscription service, mainly because I already owned and installed the boxed version of Photoshop Elements 11 and adding it to a subscription service with Lightroom seemed redundant. I am sure someone in the community will (or has) comment(ed) that it is possible to whiten teeth and cure blemishes within LR, but I haven't figured out how to do that yet. Check out the TV Adobe free tutorials, particularly Julianne Kost's tutorials. She has a good presentation style and you might find the LR answer that you need with detailed instructions.

  • How to get the list of icc profile, which Photoshop loaded?

I am developing a automation plugin, but I do not know how to get the list of icc profile, which photoshop loaded.
I have read the log of "getter" and "Listener",and not find the way to get the list.

    Thank you for you answer.
I find a icc profile has a "internal name" which show in the color setting menu in photoshop and a "external name" which is the file name. And the "internal name" maybe different with "external name".
How I can get the "internal name" from the icc profile? I do not find the information in the ICC Profile Format Specification.
    Thank you very much!

Which photoshop elements are compatible with windows 7 64-bit?

All Elements versions for Windows including PSE12 are 32 bits applications which can run without problems on Windows 64 bits.
You can download the free 30 days trial version to see by yourself.
(The 'Premiere Elements' for Windows is 64 bits. PSE12 for Mac is 64 bits)

Actually, to get the features that's provided by software you get with a CC subscription, you'd actually need to buy a perpetual license for Photoshop CS6 Extended, which is $999.00
So let's think about this for a moment...
You COULD buy a "perpetual" license, ponying up that money TODAY, and you will be allowed to use the software forever - well, for as long as it's compatible with whatever operating system you're running, and as long as Adobe's activation servers remain online anyway.  And it will provide the same functionality it does today - no more.
Or for the same money you COULD subscribe for 100 months - that's about 8 YEARS, paying each year in advance (i.e., $120 now, $120 next year, etc.).  And you will get the latest features, and be compatible with the OS of the day.
You might claim that there's no guarantee that it will be about $10 a month for 8 years, and to that I'd counter with the following:  I'll guarantee you'll be out the $999 right now, and I'd wonder out loud what $880 invested in Adobe stock might grow to in 8 years...

  • Which photoshop is for beginners and not the costly full version?

which photoshop is for beginners and not the costly full version?

Depending on what you want to achieve, there is also Lightroom 4.
When comparing CS6, Lightroom, and Elements, Adobe says:
Q:  How do Adobe Photoshop, Photoshop Extended, Photoshop Elements, and Photoshop Lightroom software differ?
A:  Photoshop Elements 11 (US$99) is designed for people who are just getting started with digital photo editing, and delivers powerful yet easy-to-use options that help you organize, edit, create, share, and help protect your personal photos.
Photoshop CS6 (US$699) is the professional standard for creating and manipulating powerful images, and Photoshop CS6 Extended (US$999) delivers everything in Photoshop plus tools for creating and editing 3D images and objects.
Photoshop Lightroom 4 (US$149) addresses the workflow needs of professional and serious amateur photographers, enabling them to import, process, organize, and showcase large volumes of digital photographs quickly, or develop a single image.
And they also have a page that neatly summarizes the best uses for each product. This article gets even deeper into the comparison. I hope this is helpful!

  • Which photoshop version works with windows 8?

I have tried cs2 and it does not work. Does anyone know which is the most economical photoshop version works well with windows 8?

Photoshop Elements 12 for outright purchase.
Or Photoshop CC 2014 with the $9.99/month PS+LR Photography Plan

  • Which photoshop is the best for me ?

I currently use Photoshop CS and I need more functions. I need a photoshop where I can make 3D which one is good and I also have a small budget. I have 120$. Thanks for answering my questions.

Suggest you try Blender.....a free 3D program which renders images you can then use in Ps.   You can do much more 3D in Blender than Ps ever thought about doing.  There are low cost 3D programs that are easier to use than Blender.  Search for 3D programs in Google

  • Which photoshop elements will work with a mac desktop v7.1 working on os 10.9.5

I have a photoshop elements 11 which I purchased some time ago which has a disc for mac computers but will not load on my mid 70s (7.1) mac desktop which is running on the latest 10.9.5 maverick software can anyone give me advice on which elements addition will work on my Mac.

That FAQ is merely the adobe official line. If you have a full version of PSE 6 for mac, it should work in 10.9, really.

  • Which Photoshop will run on a late 2007 MacBook?

I've been digging, and *think* that the correct answer is Photoshop CS4.
Here are the specs on my MacBook:
Processor  2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    Memory  2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
Graphics  Intel GMA X3100 144 MB VRAM
    Software  Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63)
As far as I've been able to determine, I cannot run Photoshop CS5 or 6 because of the VRAM required; also cannot run PS CS6 because it requires OSX 10.8, which the late '07 MacBooks cannot run.
Any additional information would be appreciated!

    Hi all,
Maverick on Late 2008 MBP seems a hot topic these days
Well, I also have a late 2008 MBP 2.53GHz - 4 GB RAM, and I gotta change the HDD, since it became very slow. To be honest, I am very happy with 10.6.8: I think it is quite stable and all the apps I use are available for such an OS. However, I was thinking if it may be worth to upgrade it to Lion, Mountain Lion or Maverick. Pros and cons? Would you suggest me to do that? Thanks!

  • How do I know which photoshop CS is best for me?

Hey now..  I'm having a hard time deciding which CS is best for me. I'd love some advice. Here is some information about me and my business.
My husband and I own a small screen printing business. We have been in business 8 years and we mostly print our own designs.
I am the graphic artist, he is the printer. I LOVE my photoshop 7.0. It gets the job done but I'm needing more but not too much more. For example, I'm wanting to type my text in a spiral without having to piece together and resize every word or letter. I know I can save time if I upgrade but I'm not sure what to upgrade to...
I've been told CS3. Will that be enough? if so, what is the difference between CS3 professional, standard, dreamweaver?
Help? and Thanks for your input/advice!

As a business, and with the sort of work you are doing, I would try to get the $10 a month Photography deal.  You would get tax breaks on the cost of Photoshop, and be able to produce some very cool designs with ease.
Look through this long list of tutorials.
    http://tv.adobe.com/show/learn-photoshop-cc/
    Check out:
    Scripted patterns and fills
    Design Improvements
    Any of the 3D tutorials
The 'Painting drawing and type' subsection.
And anything that looks interesting.  The difference between Photoshop CC and the very old Version 7, will astound you.  Some of it will take some learning, but this forum will always be here to help if you get stuck.

  • I have Lightroom 3.6, which Photoshop should I add to edit faces & textures?

I am an amateur photographer.  I have Lightroom 3.6 and use to manage and edit my existing shots.  I am interested in having more creative control over my shots by adding textures as well as more easily removing flaws in faces or photos than Lightroom itself provides.  What Photoshop product do I want to buy to give me this flexibility?

No, the older versions are not free.  If you upgrade you will have to get Lr5 unless you can still find Lr4 for sale somewhere as it has been discontinued by Adobe.  You can also use the FREE DNG converter to convert the 6d files for use in Lr3.6.

  • Help me figure out which Photoshop Elements I have?

So.  I looked under "system info" and for "version" it says " version: 6.0 service pack 1"
This led me to believe that I have Photoshop Elements 6, and I checked out a book on it from the library.  Well the screens in the book bear little resemblence to the ones I have.  I don't know if this helps, but when I open up PE, at the top of the page it simple reads "Adobe Photoshop Elements" -- no "6.0" or even "2.0" or anything after it.
    Any ideas?

    Ah.
That was kind of what I was starting to suspect.
I suppose it's advance a little since then?  Do you suggest I upgrade right away, or should I spend some time getting to know all the things I don't know about the one I have first?  (I just got a new camera, so I'm starting to look into using PSE for a little more than just autolevels and resizing.)
